Government seeking to deport 150 Bosnians of all stripes on charges they committed war crimes and lied on refugee application

Are Bill Clinton’s chickens coming home to roost?

And, just at a time when the State Department is telling anyone who will listen that we screen refugees really, really well, did I say really! well in the push to bring in the Syrian Muslims.

Pals Bill Clinton and Don Tyson: Who first hatched the idea of using legal refugee laborers in meat packing plants? Photo: http://www.apfn.org/apfn/clintons.htm

So how did so many war criminals (on all sides of the war) get into the US as refugees?  They simply lied!

Eager to bring them in so that the resettlement contractors*** would have paid work (and the meatpackers would get cheap labor), we flung open America to over 100,000 of them.  Be sure to see Clinton’s gift to BIG MEAT, here.  This from a 2001 Agribusiness publication:

In fact, the meatpacking industry has a history of recruiting on the ground in Yugoslavia. But during the Clinton years, companies like IBP haven’t had to travel that far.   [IBP was taken over by Tyson Foods—ed]

Since 1995, the Clinton INS has resettled over 80,000 Balkan refugees, mainly Bosnian Muslims, primarily in America’s Midwest.

From the New York Times (thanks to all who sent this news!):

WASHINGTON — Immigration officials are moving to deport at least 150 Bosnians living in the United States who they believe took part in war crimes and “ethnic cleansing” during the bitter conflict that raged in the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s.

In all, officials have identified about 300 immigrants who they believe concealed their involvement in wartime atrocities when they came to the United States as part of a wave of Bosnian war refugees fleeing the violence there. With more records from Bosnia becoming available, the officials said the number of suspects could eventually top 600.

“The more we dig, the more documents we find,” said Michael MacQueen, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement historian who has led many investigations in the agency’s war crimes section. The accused immigrants, many of them former soldiers from Bosnia, include a soccer coach in Virginia, a metal worker in Ohio and four hotel casino workers in Las Vegas.

[….]

When more than 120,000 Bosnian refugees began applying for American visas in the mid-1990s, they were required to disclose military service or other allegiances that might have suggested involvement in war crimes. But the system relied largely on the honesty of the applicants, and there was little effort to verify their statements.  [And we are doing the same thing today with Syrians—taking their word—ed.]

All are being investigated—Serbs, Croats and Bosnian Muslims

With a stepped-up focus on Bosnia since the arrest of Mr. Boskic in Boston, immigration officials say a total of 64 Balkan immigrants with ties to war crimes have left the United States after being expelled through legal proceedings or fleeing while under investigation. While most of the cases involve Bosnian Serbs, officials have also taken action against Bosnian Muslims and Croats who they believe participated in attacks against Serbs — a reflection, officials say, of their willingness to pursue Bosnian offenders of all types.

Ethiopian war criminal got into US as refugee by lying about his identity

Imagine that!

Kefelgn Alemu Worku has been found guilty in US court in Denver and will likely serve 15 years in prison for lying.

Kefelgn Alemu Worku

Thanks to Creeping Sharia for tipping us off to this latest news.

I searched our thousands of posts and voila, I knew I recognized the name, we first reported on Worku here in 2012.  It is really worth visiting that post to see how complex a fraud was perpetrated on the US State Department.  Worku didn’t just claim (in isolation) to be someone else, but “kids” in America (not his kids) actually helped perpetrate the scam and allowed him to assume the identity of their ailing father.   He came to the US through ‘family’ reunification.

Here is the news of the conviction yesterday at East Africa News (emphasis is mine):

A United States court has convicted an Ethiopian immigrant, who is suspected of having committed war crimes in his home country, on charges of immigration fraud and identity theft.

Prosecutors told the court that the accused, Kefelgn Alemu Worku, had lied about his past and stolen someone else’s identity before immigrating to Colorado in 2004 as a refugee. Worku admitted that he had used a false name to gain entry and citizenship in the United States but denied allegations that he had tortured and killed political prisoners while working as a prison guard in Ethiopia in the 1970’s.

The accused was arrested in May 2011 after Ethiopian Immigrants, Samuel Ketema, 53, and his brother, Kiflu, 58, identified and confronted him at a cafe in Aurora, Colorado. Kiflu claims he witnessed Worku torturing and killing several prisoners – including one of Kiflu’s best friends – while serving a prison sentence in Ethiopia.

So we taxpayers absorbed the expenses of his resettlement, his use of social services, his legal case and now we get to take care of him in prison for the next 15 years!

Worku now faces up to 15 years in prison following his conviction. Dozens of Ethiopian immigrants who thronged the court during the trial seemed satisfied with the verdict.

The charges brought against Worku in Denver were for immigration violations and not the war crimes that he is accused of having committed nearly four decades ago. Ethiopia already tried him for those crimes in absentia and sentenced him to hanging.

I guess what this really means is that in lieu of deportation and hanging, we get to pay for him in prison for 15 years, then what?  Will he be released into America to collect his senior citizen benefits because he is a US citizen?  But, wait! is he a US citizen if he used another person’s identity?

Canada: Supreme Court hearing refugee/war crimes case

They are busy, busy, busy in Canada these days with refugee issues.  Yesterday it was the announcement that Canada would take 5000 more Iraqis and Iranians to make Turkey happy, and today the Supreme Court will hear an important case.

Here is the story (from Canada.com):

OTTAWA — The Supreme Court of Canada will hear a case Thursday that grapples with how to determine just who is culpable for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Rachidi Ekanza Ezokola, a former high-level diplomat with the Democratic Republic of Congo, was originally denied refugee status after he fled to Montreal with his family because he was found to be complicit by association with the crimes committed by the war-torn African country.

It will be the first time since 1999 that the Supreme Court is considering the interpretation of provisions of a United Nations refugee convention that denies refugee status to people who are associated with war crimes and crimes against humanity – provisions upon which hundreds of refugee cases in Canada are decided, said Lorne Waldman, the president of the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers.

Sheesh!  They have a whole Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers, I wonder if we have such an association?

Read it all.  The “humanitarians” are on Ezokola’s side, no surprise there.

I bet there are war criminals sprinkled throughout the US refugee population.

Those two Iraqis convicted of terrorism charges in Kentucky would, in my view, fit the definition.  Oh, but then again, they only killed Americans so that doesn’t count I suppose.

But, this case from New Hampshire of a refugee woman (Beatrice Munyenyezi) charged with lying about her role in genocide in Rwanda is pretty stunning.  We paid for her resettlement and then she cost us millions in court costs for a couple of very expensive trials.  Looks like her next trial, that had been scheduled for last October, will be happening in March? in Concord, NH.
