First, you need to know that the Heritage Foundation, a huge ‘conservative’ think tank in Washington, hasn’t paid one lick of attention to the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) until this year, until Trump entered the White House.

Now they are tooting their horn because they got a meeting with retired Admiral Garry Hall in the White House to promote their version of reform.
But, what is absent from their ‘study’ and report entitled: ‘The U.S. Refugee Admissions Program: A Roadmap for Reform,’ is the cost shifting of the USRAP to state taxpayers, the cultural and economic impact on communities, refugee crime, and the secrecy by which the feds and nine contractors (paid almost exclusively with taxpayer dollars)*** place refugees in American towns and cities.
They do give a little lip service to the idea that refugees must assimilate. Oh, pray tell, how are you going to force certain ‘religious’ refugees to assimilate while the whole resettlement effort is being done by contractors who have no interest in teaching refugees to assimilate? (They won’t even use the word ‘assimilate!’)
In short, the focus of their work is Washington-centric and how refugee resettlement is somehow mostly an issue of foreign policy to advance US interests!
What about US citizens’ interests!
The authors clearly have no idea what is going on outside the DC bubble.
Here are the three takeaways from their work product:
Do you see anything here about States Rights and the feds shifting costs to states? Anything about the US Treasury heavily funding ‘religious’ NGOs which then operate in secrecy? Anything about the social and cultural impact roiling communities that are overloaded with refugees?

This summer, Heritage experts Olivia Enos, David Inserra, and Joshua Meservey wrote a report titled “The U.S. Refugee Admissions Program: A Roadmap for Reform”.
Their report asserts that the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program should be used neither as a service to mass distribute global migration rights, nor to solve international conflict.
Rather, it should be reformed to assert American leadership, tangibly help partners and allies, and rescue some of the world’s most vulnerable people.
Last Thursday, they briefed Admiral Hall on their report at the National Security Council. He was very receptive and promised to pass it to the new Senior Adviser for Refugees [Who?—ed]
James Jay Carafano, the Vice President for the Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy and E. W. Richardson Fellow, said of their work:
“While others have obsessed about the numbers and bans, we have focused on substantive reforms to actually make the program better—reduce abuse, enhance security and promote assimilation. Our work has not gone unnoticed. I have gotten constructive feedback from NGOs on all sides of this issue.”
Plans to make their roadmap to reform a reality are in the works.

Erol Kekic dog whistling with this line? He said people asked: “Why are we bringing people who don’t all look like us?” I will bet no one uttered those words that night!
Don’t you know! Loud is bad if it doesn’t come from the Left!
And, it is funny, just last night I was so irritated by Leftwing commentators always referring to Rightwing “dog whistles” when along comes a story with some dog whistles from the Left!
If you don’t know what the heck dog whistles are (in the political sense), it is when a supposedly secretive message is being sent to one’s own political base.
Before I give you some juicy bits on this NPR story, you might want to revisit my reports on Poughkeepsie here.
In the waning months of the Obama Administration (before November) hopes were running high. Obama had set a refugee admissions ceiling for FY17 at 110,000, the highest in years and certainly much higher than any of his previous 7 years, and they all thought that Hillary was headed to the Oval.
So the US State Department with its contractors*** set about finding lots and lots of fresh territory in which to place refugees (older sites were getting overloaded and tensions were building). Poughkeepsie was one such new site.
Then along came Donald J. Trump to mess up their big plans….
A few days after Donald Trump was elected President, more than a hundred people packed into a church sanctuary in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. to hear a presentation about refugee resettlement in their town.
It didn’t go well.
This was after Trump had campaigned on refusing Syrian refugees, citing security concerns. In the church that night, staffers from the non-profit organization Church World Service laid out their plan to open a refugee resettlement office in Poughkeepsie, and bring in about 80 refugees, mostly from the Congo, Iraq and Syria.
The audience had questions. A lot of them. They wanted to know, would they be safe? And could Poughkeepsie afford to care for these new residents?
“As a resident of this town, of this city, I can look out my window any time and find someone in need,” said Poughkeepsie resident Steven Planck, to vigorous applause.
I have seen this comment dozens of times and ask this question: If Church World Serviceis a Christian ‘charity,’ why not focus on the poor people in every American city? Why are we importing more poverty?
The head of Church World Service’s refugee program, Erol Kekic, spent more than an hour trying to respond to the questions.
“We had to do a lot of truth-telling, and dispel some myths,” says Kekic. “From ‘the value of my property will go down because refugees will be resettling next to me,’ to ‘are we bringing terrorists?’ to ‘why are we bringing people who don’t all look like us?'”
It’s getting harder for refugees to find a welcoming home in the U.S. The Trump administration has cut the number of refugees allowed into the country. In cities and town across the nation, citizens are protesting refugees being resettled in their neighborhoods.
In Poughkeepsie, the debate got ugly. On social media, people called opponents of the refugee plan racists and Islamophobes. The staff of Church World Service received death threats. [Ho hum! Death threats, so what else is new—ed]

Until recently, refugee resettlement in the U.S. had wide bipartisan support. The U.S. State Department, along with nine large non-profit groups, decides where to resettle refugees fleeing persecution, war and violence. They look for communities where there are volunteers to help.
The reason the refugee industry had “wide bipartisan support” and still does is that the Republican establishment wants the cheap labor for their big business donors and the Dems want the voters. And it is only in the last few years that this secret program has been exposed to the American taxpayers who shell out the bucks for it!
NPR continued:
“We all wondered, why? Why Poughkeepsie?”says David Cole, 37, a lifelong resident of the town who helped mobilize opposition to Church World Service. Cole insists he has nothing against Muslims or other refugees. But he says Poughkeepsie isn’t a wealthy town; unemployment there is higher than the statewide average.
Why Poughkeepsie? Because Church World Service thought a banner year was coming with a slew of Obama/Clinton paying refugee “clients,” and they figured Poughkeepsie would be a pushover!
“I looked at people that I knew,” Cole says. “And I said, OK, well, why aren’t these people getting help? Why are we trying to help, you know, people from war-torn countries in an area where there’s people looking for jobs? Like, they’re scavenging for jobs around here. I don’t get it.”

“Yes, there are loud voices in every community,” Kekic says. “But they’re usually not the majority, and they’re usually just a very loud minority.”
For new readers: We often give readers an opportunity to post guest opinions here at RRW. This is one from a longtime Minnesota resident, Robert Carrillo, who attended the event last Saturday at the St. Cloud Public Library where CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) attempted to equate the internment of Japanese in the US (after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor) with what could happen to Somalis in the age of Trump.
The event backfired when many educated and fearless audience members pushed back (see full report here at WND).
I’m all in favor of holding debates with CAIR anywhere and everywhere CAIR is willing to show up—let’s educate more Americans!

The Japanese American group folks were actually very interesting. Their plight during the war years (WWII) was difficult indeed. So was the same fate for German Americans and Italian Americans located on the East coast at that time also, and for the very same reasons. Please remember, that we were attacked at Pearl Harbor.
There was no instant communication. No internet. Only teletype, telephones, Western Union telegrams, and newspapers; all lagging behind events for days and weeks, or even longer. People were scared to death, and many rational precautions were taken to insure the safety (against potential domestic sabotage) of the American homeland, including “resettlement” of people of Japanese descent, German descent, and Italian descent… Sad, and difficult to be certain, but a historical fact.
As an aside it was a Democrat President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, who signed that war time emergency order. I lived in Japan for a couple of years on a military base as a kid. I get it!
However, they are being used, and are being played. The conflating of these events (75 years ago), and the loaded race baiting/ religious baiting language used by Mr. Hussein, to connect the dots—which do not connect at all, was obvious, and disconcerting.
Outrageous fear-mongering poster wouldn’t you say!
The “Could This Happen Again?” program format, created by Jaylani Hussein (MN CAIR Director, comparing this 1940’s historical event to a modern-day possibility involving the Somali (Muslim) community, was, at best tacky and completely dishonest, and at its worst, a disgusting form of hate mongering manipulation by this man.
According to Hussein, all the interrelated (legitimate), and horrifying news stories, just in the past two years alone, involving Somali (Muslims), and legitimate and horrifying NEWS STORIES, reported here in the land of “Minnesota Nice” are lies, and false propaganda, intended to marginalize, demonize, and to intimidate the Somali “community” (the victims). Truly?
And, according to his highness of MN CAIR, they are the VICTIMS, and WE are simply not taking the time necessary enough to understand THEM. The ever-increasing crime and violence, and barbaric behavior on the part of their “community” membership is all fiction, and “We” will not be silenced nor intimidated by those attempting to spread such lies about us” says Mr. Hussein.
This man is what is called a “grifter”, and in my view, an extremely dangerous con man, completely unwilling to accept any responsibility whatsoever for the terrible actions of far too many within the ranks of his own “community”, or for his culpability in this tragic situation. In fact, he repeatedly denies that these real-life news stories (there are way too many of them now) are true, sadly.
Furthermore, he also refuses to accept the reality that in this world, and in any civilized society, “attitudes reflect leadership”, and that his lack of leadership only serves to foment additional violence, and additional blow-back from Minnesotans as a result.
In short, he is a completely irresponsible “slick talking”, delusional adult-child, and again, unwilling to accept the existence of his disgraceful part in this quickly unfolding tragedy here in Minnesota. He does neither he, nor his “community” of Somali’s in Minnesota, or Minnesotans in general, any good whatsoever, by behaving in this deplorable and irresponsible fashion. In fact, he accomplishes just the opposite objective, in my view, and I believe that to be intentional.
In short, and although I believe there are some exceptions within the community, I do not believe that they are here to get along as good neighbors at all (to assimilate). I believe, as has proved to be true in other parts of the world, especially Europe and the UK, and around the United States and Canada as well, that they are here to overwhelm the indigenous population, and to sow the seeds necessary to grow their “caliphate”. There are literally centuries of similar historical evidence to support this statement. In short, and for the most part, they simply do not play well with others.
One might also ask a logical and practical economic question here on the home front.
Why, given that in St Cloud, Minnesota and the surrounding area, with very limited industry, and very limited employment and business opportunity, would he (Hussein) not support a “moratorium” at this point (St Cloud MN, Councilman Jeff Johnson’s proposal), which would naturally limit (“time out”) the number of additional immigrants being transplanted into St Cloud, MN, so as not to bring in more people to compete for the very same jobs and limited opportunities his “community” are currently enjoying. Conclusion? He is obviously up to something else here.
One woman (nice lady I suppose) – “Bless her heart”, as one person I know would say – was actually willing to outline the “cultural reasons” why all Muslims (she) must pray 5 times a day. It is “required” says she…including in our taxpayer funded public schools. Well, that trumps (pardon the word) OUR US Supreme Court decision on that score in particular relative to “prayer in public schools”, I suppose, according to her. Well, there you have it! Done deal! We, (the “community”) demand it, and therefore, we are entitled to it!

Then there is the refusal on the part of Somali-owned food service and restaurant businesses in St Cloud, MN, now refusing to allow lawful and required Health Department inspections of their establishments – AND, APPARENTLY, GETTING AWAY WITH IT! Those businesses should have been shut down yesterday.
As an aside, and since the FBI Minneapolis is presently looking for “8 Armed and Dangerous Men” (Somali) fellas as we speak, perhaps checking under the floor boards of those restaurants might be a clever, and rational idea at the moment. By the way, where did these young men get their guns and ammunition? There is the recently formed “Somali American [ Men’s ] Gun Club” in St Cloud now.
One fella, afterwards in the lobby of the St Cloud Public Library (also very wordy and slick – and oh so smooth—Jaylani Hussein’s right-hand man), told me, with considerable pride, that his father had 6 wives, and thus he had 22 siblings. OMG… Paleeeeeze.. …Just say NO! How many welfare checks does that add up to do you suppose?
Because I was not called on during the Q & A portion of the program (my arm is still sore from waving it), intentionally, to offer any commentary, and to ask some needed questions, I did have a chance to visit with a few concerned citizens afterwards.
I handed out more than a few actual and very recent news articles relative to very serious incidents, which have happened in Minnesota, which are much more than alarming. Not to my surprise, there were far too many people there, who had not even been made aware of these news stories at all. (Minnesota mainstream media is a disgrace – AND AFRAID in my opinion – as is true of many connected to Minnesota Law Enforcement and governance now).
This included the two incidents at the Mall of America on a recent Sunday (November 12, 2017) afternoon and evening. First was the 5th degree sexual assault (ride operator arrested and charged) of a woman by an amusement park ride operator, and then, the stabbing of two shoppers in Macy’s, both acts committed by member(s) of the Minneapolis Somali “community” (not a good track record here people).
Jaylani Hussein, the executive director of the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN), is, I concluded, an arrogant huckster and a master con man, and he is smooth.
He was caught lying through his teeth several times, and we have him on tape. Can you say, no denunciation or condemnation of The Muslim Brotherhood, or Hamas, connected to CAIR?
His response more than once during the Q&A portion of his presentation was: “He will not be intimidated or silenced by such website-generated questions”, says he! “And, we carry a big stick” says he.
These people, and their home-grown SURROGATES (Not the Japanese American organization folks being played for fools here), are so clearly, Kool-Aide drinking – moneymaking – and race baiting pimps, and they too are very dangerous. Joseph Stalin referenced such people as “useful idiots”.
Relating to Mr. Jaylani’s condescending behavior and treatment of many of the women audience members in particular (a cultural problem I believe); demonstrating such disrespect and obvious disdain in his tone and manner throughout, while somehow believing that his deceptive delivery style had gone on unnoticed, I can almost hear Michael Corleone (Godfather Film) saying to his brother-in-law, Carlo, relating to his brother, Sonny’s (Santino) assassination…”Ahhh, that little farce you played with my sister: Did you think you could fool a Corleone?”
How about another panel discussion Mr. Hussein – face to face – with additional experts on the stage, who do understand the serious “Public Safety” and “Public Health” issues connected to this “Trojan Horse” problem WE ALL FACE, regardless of political affiliation, or personal philosophy?This, Mr. Hussein, is my standing invitation to do so, publicly, and with local and national news cameras and microphones rolling.
To: MN CAIR’s, Mr. Jaylani Hussein: Let’s have that public conversation (public panel discussion), and public debate, very soon. As US Supreme Court Justice Brandeis once said: “Sunlight is the best disinfectant”, my friend.
While we wait for Jaylani’s answer, please keep thinking happy “Minnesota Nice” thoughts … Please pass the brats – the beer – and the hot-dish…wouldja? …OK then, “Enjoy the weather!”

Why does that matter to us? Because some of those rioting and refusing to be moved to another processing center could end up in your town in America.

Video shot inside facility as detainees refused to be removed. These are the ‘refugees’ Australia doesn’t want, but supposedly America does?
And, check it out, how do detainees have fully-charged phones to be able to film this and tweet to the world. They think (so they say) that if they step out of the door of the closed facility the locals will attack them.
Papua New Guinea authorities have ratcheted up pressure on more than 300 asylum seekers to abandon a decommissioned immigration camp, where refugees reported their shelters, beds and other belongings had been destroyed.
Police Chief Superintendent Dominic Kakas said 50 police and immigration officials entered the Manus Island camp on Thursday morning and persuaded 35 of the 378 men there to leave for alternative accommodation in the nearby town of Lorengau.
Water, power and food supplies ended when the Manus camp officially closed on October 31, following the Papua New Guinea Supreme Court’s ruling last year that Australia’s policy of housing asylum seekers there was unconstitutional.
But asylum seekers say they fear for their safety in Lorengau because of threats from local residents.
Kakas said force would not be used to empty the squalid Manus Island camp.
“There’s no raid. It’s an ongoing negotiation with the refugees,” Kakas told The Associated Press. “It’s not an eviction exercise. We’re telling them to move because there’s water, food and proper shelter on the other side.”

Sudanese refugee Abdul Aziz Adam tweeted that police had arrested Iranian refugee and journalist Behrouz Boochan.
Boochan had earlier tweeted: “They are destroying everything. Shelters, tanks, beds and all of our belongings.”

Australia pays Papua New Guinea, its nearest neighbour, and the tiny Pacific nation of Nauru to hold thousands of asylum seekers from Africa, the Middle East and Asia who have attempted to reach Australian shores by boat since mid-2013.
Not mentioned in the text that accompanies the video, is this near the end: New Zealand has offered to take some of the detainees but Australia declined the offer.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull says that the priority is the existing refugee swap deal with the US.
Initially Trump told Turnbull it was a “dumb deal.” Still is!
Go back and look at that video and consider that some of these men will be living in your town because Donald Trump said he will honor the unorthodox deal the Obama Administration made with Australia as Obama was walking out the door in late 2016.
BTW, that story from The NationalI linked above says 24 of the DETAINEES have already arrived in America, but that doesn’t fit the number we had heard previously—-we heard 50 have arrived of the possible 1,250.

Longtime readers know that HIAS receives millions of taxpayer dollars to place refugees in unsuspecting towns and cities and they have led the charge in the courts against Donald Trump’s efforts to keep us safe by limiting certain migrants entry in to the US.

Is this the moment when Mark Hetfield and HIAS officially joined the anti-Israel lobby?
Mark Hetfield had already hijacked HIAS and transformed it from a Jewish organization to a radical left-wing group concerned entirely with Muslim migration.
Hetfield’s HIAS had already attacked Israel and collaborated with the anti-Israel group, J Street.
But signing a statement in support of Linda Sarsour, an Islamic anti-Semitic activist who celebrated throwing stones at Jews, is Mark Hetfield’s official coming out party.
The immediate trigger for this was having Sarsour head a New School panel accusing Jews of exploiting anti-Semitism. That’s quite a show for a woman who is quite comfortable with Louie Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam.
