Playing whac-a-mole with these get-out-the-vote groups

Just as you were heaving a sigh of relief that maybe, just maybe, ACORN was going to be exposed for voter fraud across the US comes news that there are probably hundreds of groups like ACORN busily scurrying around registering who knows who.

Here is news from the Assoicated Press that the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights has launched a concerted campaign to sign up voters in Obama’s neck of the woods.  I wonder if the Obama campaign is helping fund this effort as they reportedly are with ACORN?

CHICAGO — The state’s largest immigrant rights group launched a voter mobilization project on Tuesday that includes a focus on northern Illinois communities with large immigrant populations and tight congressional races.

The Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights plans to contact more than 144,000 immigrant voters statewide by mail, through phone calls and door-to-door visits. The goal is to get at least 50,000 to the polls on Nov. 4.

The effort is nonpartisan, but the project’s message is comprehensive immigration reform, said Juan Salgado, the coalition’s board president.

The coalition, which has registered about 26,000 immigrant voters this year, plans to concentrate on Illinois’ 10th and 11th Congressional Districts. Both are longtime Republican districts that experts say may be trending Democratic, based on recent presidential elections.

I looked into this group last spring when I did some research on Obama and his taxpayer money trail.  This non-partisan Immigration cheerleading group is largely funded by the taxpayers of Illinois, maddening isn’t it?  But it had also gotten grants from none other than the Woods Fund, Obama’s old outfit.

And, while you are reading think about the fact that in 2005 you funded this group to the tune of $5,276,202 as part of an overall income of $6,779,751. YOU are paying 78% of what they do. To be completely accurate, if you live in Illinois you are paying much of this.

Oh, what a tangled web they weave—an investigative reporters dream (if we had any investigative reporters, that is!).

South Carolina chicken plant latest ICE enforcement action

Our watchdog on meatpacking plants, Blulitespecial, sent us this link to a story on the latest illegal immigration bust, this one in South Carolina.   Although the only connection to refugee resettlement is that it seems that refugees flow to these meatpacking towns once the illegals have been given the boot, I wanted to mention this story because I was fortunate to hear Julie Myers, Asst. Secretary of Homeland Security and head of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency speak this past Saturday in Washington, DC.

From the Greenville News:

GREENVILLE, S.C. — More than 300 people were arrested Tuesday on immigration charges, part of a massive federal raid at a Greenville County poultry processing plant.

Maybe you recall, Myers was extensively criticized in the mainstream media when she was chosen by President Bush to head up ICE.    But, I have to tell you she has been one tough cookie and all this enforcement of immigration laws we have been seeing in recent months is her doing.

Myers told us that many tips they receive are from Americans in these towns who would like the jobs to go to citizens and witness some illegal action involving the employers prompting them to tip off ICE.

Tuesday’s raid is the latest in a string of federal actions in recent years targeting illegal workers at poultry and meat-processing facilities across the nation.

About 300 people were arrested in a raid at a Pilgrim’s Pride poultry plant in Texas in April.

In May, federal agents raided a Agriprocessors, Inc. meat plant in Postville, Iowa, in one of the largest single-site immigration busts in U.S. history. Authorities detained 389 illegal immigrant workers and processed them through mass court hearings in Waterloo.

In another massive operation in December 2006, federal authorities detained more than 1,300 people in six states during raids at Swift meat-packing plants.

ICE officials say the workplace investigations and subsequent raids are part of a broad program to combat illegal immigration and fraud.

If you care about the rule of law, weep.  In a few short weeks, we will have a new President and Myers will be gone.  Maybe a McCain Administration will continue the crackdown, but that is a big maybe.   We know for sure an Obama Administration won’t, afterall many of these illegals will have voted for him.   And, besides, if we kick too many illegals out of the country who will the friends of Obama in the banking industry sell houses to?

Update Nov. 7th:   Somali promoting Coleman at the polls?  Or, were both sides illegally promoting their candidates at the polls?    Hat tip:  Blulitespecial

Senator Coleman (R-MN) is getting support for his reelection bid from an unexpected corner—the Somali Muslim vote.   This is from a publication about Somalia called Hirraan On-line.  Hat tip:  Blulitespecial.  It begins with a discussion about how bad Bush and the “neo-cons” are and about how the country is divided, but that the Somali vote could be key to victory in a tight race.

The two parties again this year seem to divide the American electorate in half (Blue states versus Red States), giving communities such as Somali-Americans an important opportunity to tip the balance in their favor.

They like Senator Coleman.  I wonder if he went to bat for them over the State Department’s decision to suspend family reunification from Somalia when DNA testing showed rampant fraud.

Unlike senators from states with large Somali-American communities such as Ohio, Virginia, Maine and others, this senator from Minnesota has been actively and visibly working for Somali-American families in his state on many issues ranging from family reunification challenges to establishing a sound US foreign policy toward Somalia. Senator Coleman, who is a former Democrat turned Republican, is an honorable man who cares deeply about the plight of Somali Americans in his state and an ardent advocate for Somalia.

Although they want “change” (Obama), they say that this one Republican is aok.

Even though there is an overwhelming desire for change in Minnesota and elsewhere in America, we believe that Senator Coleman’s six-year record in the US Senate should outweigh any concerns about his party affiliation.

But, Senator Coleman has lost a few Somali voters in recent months as they seem to be bent on killing each other in what appears to be gang/clan violence.

This seems like a good time to remind readers of the “stealth jihad” which is best exemplified in Minnesota due to the large Somali population in that state.

We are in deep trouble: two must-read articles

Two articles brought to my attention yesterday confirm to me that we are at a crisis point in American history and indeed world history.   I warn you, they are both depressing, but don’t let them send you to bed with a bottle of your favorite adult beverage, use them to inspire you to work harder to save the country and our form of government—the one we know and love.  

What connection do they have to refugees you ask.  Immigration generally and the swamping of western civilization and democracy by immigrants especially those from Muslim countries who refuse to assimilate and place huge demands on our welfare system are integral to victory for the radical left, and it is integral to the establishment of Sharia law.    The proponents of Sharia law and of socialism have joined hands to defeat democracy and capitalism and great strides have been made toward that end in recent months.

[By the way,  I saw this personally at a demonstration in Washington last year.  I remember being shocked when it sunk in to me that the Muslim American Society was actually co-sponsoring the anti-war demonstration of the communist group ANSWER.  And, I wondered too which of those would win out once they had wiped us out—the half naked atheists or the fundamental Islamists—in this classic case of joining forces to conquer a common enemy, democracy.    It’s no contest really, once the proponents of Sharia Law have a firm foothold, they will annihilate the decadent communist anarchists of the far left, with the same passion they brutally threw the Soviet Union out of Afghanistan.  Radical Muslims hate atheists even more than Christians or Jews, if that is possible.] 

But I digress, back to these two important articles.  The first is from the American Thinker by James Simpson entitled “Barack Obama and the Strategy of Manufactured Crisis.”    In it the author describes the strategy of the radical left with Obama as a key player in pushing socialism deeper into the fabric of our government.  This awful bailout plan we are witnessing today is used as an example.

The other article is really a speech by Dutch legislator Geert Wilders the director of Fitna.   The speech, given in New York last week, says America will be the last man standing as Europe may already be too far gone.  Swamped by Muslim immigrants, the continent may be beyond saving and America will be the last bastion of democracy and western civilization.  Read Wilders speech at Jihad Watch.   See him on the Glenn Beck show here and note he calls Muslim immigrants to Europe “colonizers.”

Immigrant voting strategy in key swing state of Virginia

This is a post I wrote back on July 6th, but because I’ve just been hearing so much on the news today about the swing state of Virginia, I thought it might be timely to repost the whole thing here now.

Somalis, Ethiopians and Kenyans,  many having entered the US as refugees which puts them on the fast track to citizenship, are organizing for Democratic candidate for President, Barack Obama.  Wow!  Can you believe it!  Here is what the Washington Post had to say:

From coast to coast, Somali, Ethiopian, Nigerian and Kenyan Americans are knocking on the doors of their fellow African immigrants, registering new citizens to vote, raising money and preaching Obama’s mantra of hope and change. They hope that his prominence will change their status as one of the nation’s least-recognized immigrant groups, and that he will one day provide aid to help ease the turmoil and poverty in countries such as Ethiopia, Somalia and Sudan.

One Somali said Obama is like a son, one of them.

“Obama is one generation away from Africa,” said Eyow, who immigrated to the United States nearly 30 years ago. “I have nothing against my brothers and sisters, black people who were born here, but his father is like me. His father was an immigrant….”

Although Eyow says he has nothing against his black brothers who were born here, we have been chronicaling the tensions that are building in the black community partially resulting from the growing realization on the part of native-born black Americans that immigrants are taking their jobs (among other brewing conflicts).

The Post goes on to report that the Migration Policy Institute (in the right hand column you can check for the number of foreign born voters in your state) says the numbers of African immigrants aren’t high enough to swing the election, but organizers have figured out how to have influence in key states like Virginia.

Endale said that in the District, Ethiopians for Obama will not try to influence the national race between Obama and Republican Sen. John McCain (Ariz.). Instead, the group will target Ethiopian households in the Northern Virginia suburbs.

“There’s a possibility of getting 10,000 Ethiopians in Virginia,” Endale said. “That could be a game-changer.”

Is anyone checking to make sure they are all citizens and eligible to vote?
