President Donald Trump admitted 30,000 refugees to the US in the last fiscal year (ended September 30th), but did you know that the entire European Union could not resettle 50,000 in a two year period!
They might argue that well, heck, we have tens of thousands (hundreds of thousands!) arriving illegally and asking for asylum, but so do we!
However, the tone of the international media is consistently anti-US, anti-Donald Trump (aka the meany), yethere is newsfrom Deutsche Wellecompletely lacking in any snarky tones about European big mouth heads of state NOT MEETING their promised target of 50,000 OVER TWO YEARS!
Not surprisingly, Deutsche Welleblames the inability to get the job done on those pesky right wing citizens.
EU breaks promise of safe passage for 50,000 refugees
European governments, including the German government, have failed to deliver on a pledge to admit 50,000 refugees by this month, DW has learned.
The European Union launched the resettlement program two years ago with a deadline of October 31, 2019. But only 37,520 people have arrived in Europe under the program so far.
You need to know that the UN Secretary General Guterres is a past socialist prez of Portugal. So it is especially humorous to me to see how lousy Portugal is at welcoming refugees!
A spokesperson for the European Commission has admitted the target will not be reached by the end of October.

Germany was one of the countries leading the EU resettlement initiative. Last year, Chancellor Angela Merkel publicly promised to accept 10,200 people under the program. A spokesperson for the country’s Interior Ministry told DW that just 4,800 had arrived so far. He said that the delay in forming a government after German elections in 2017 had led to “complex organizational preparations” for the refugees’ arrival being pushed back.

The resettlement program is supposed to offer a safe route for some of the most vulnerable people fleeing conflict zones such as Syria and Libya. It is intended as an additional option to the right of asylum.

EU Commissioner Avramopoulos’ term in office ends on October 31, so the task of coordinating any future EU resettlement program will fall to his successor Margaritis Schinas, who has been at the center of controversy even before starting his job.
Schinas has been appointed under the new title of commissioner “for Protecting our European Way of Life” — a name which critics said mimicked the rhetoric of far-right populists, who claim immigration threatens European values.
Many political parties across Europe have made immigration an election campaign issue, taking a lead from populist parties and the far-right.

Africa Expert Leonie Jegen https://www.ies.be/user/284
Leonie Jegen, a migration expert at Germany’s Arnold-Bergstraesser-Institut, said resettlement was a divisive issue among EU countries.
“Resettlement is something that is not completely off the political agenda, but discourse around refugees has shifted in a negative direction in recent years,” she said.
This is an update of the story I posted here in September about Africans piling up in southern Mexico and insisting that the Mexican government allow them to move north to the US border.
Looks like so far Mexico is holding firm in its promise to the Trump Administration to get these caravans stopped—-in this case with the Mexican National Guard.
(Note that the LA Times isn’t loose with the language and isn’t calling the migrants ‘refugees.’)
Mexican authorities stop caravan of migrants attempting to head north
To get the best media photo, well-trained migrants putting babies on the front lines to confront National Guard..
MEXICO CITY — Mexican authorities on Saturday thwarted the latest caravan of migrants attempting to head north from southern Mexico with the hope of reaching the United States.
Some 2,000 migrants from various nations — including Central American and African countries, Haiti and Cuba — set off on foot in the predawn hours from the southern Mexican city of Tapachula.
It was the first such caravan since early 2019, as Mexico — under pressure from the Trump administration to curb U.S.-bound migration thorough its territory — has cracked down on Central Americans and others seeking to reach the United States.
On Saturday, the northbound caravan met a phalanx of Mexican authorities, including National Guard and federal police units along the highway at a point about 25 miles north of Tapachula. The enforcement presence prompted almost half the caravan members — including many women and children — to surrender to Mexican immigration authorities.

Thousands of migrants seeking to reach U.S. territory — more than 1,000 miles to the north — have been stuck in Tapachula for months as Mexican officials have been hesitant to hand out visas allowing them to continue north. Most entered Mexico from Guatemala. The migrants stranded in Tapachula are mostly Central Americans but include others from the Caribbean, South America, Africa and Asia.
I never thought I would see a headline like this one from CNN:
How fake refugees from Kenya got settled in the US and Europe
Previously we reported on an extensive investigation by NBC about the massive fraud happening at United Nations camps in Kenya, but this gives us additional details about how Kenyans pretended to be Somalis and got tickets out of Africa.
The sprawling UN refugee camp in Kenya, Dadaab, is where Rep. Ilhan Omar and her ‘family’ lived prior to getting their ticket to America.
But his family members weren’t refugees, and they weren’t born in Somalia — they were born in Kenya, and he says his father faked their refugee status in the 1990s to get into the US.
“I feel bad for them [the real refugees], but at the same time it is all about first come, first served. I feel like if they had come before us, then we would have been the ones to stay and they would be the ones who would have gone,” he says.
He agreed to speak to CNN on the condition of anonymity, afraid of being found out.
Refugee status should be reserved for people fleeing across international boundaries from targeted persecution or war.
But in Kenya, home to one of the largest refugee populations on the planet, tens of thousands of registered refugees aren’t refugees at all.
Fathiaa Abdalla, the UNHCR representative in Kenya: “I am not aware of any Kenyans being resettled as refugees.”
A CNN investigation has determined that from the late 1990s through 2016 an untold number of these fake refugees were resettled in the US and elsewhere.
[….]
All told, there are at least 40,000 Kenyans registered as refugees in the Dadaab camps alone, according to both UNHCR and government numbers, in what officials euphemistically term “double registration.”
The UN continues to deny it has massive corruption on its hands!
“We have a zero-tolerance policy, we have anti-fraud committees, we have anti-fraud focal point in the camps, we have help line for refugees or anyone, you could get into our help line right now and report anything. These systems are very good, and they are working,” said Abdalla.
Continue reading here. Of course there is no mention of the fact that this fraud was significantly curbed when Trump slowed the flow of ‘Somalis’ (fake or otherwise) to America leaving the UN scrambling to place possibly fake refugees in Europe, Canada and Australia.
I’m still shaking my head—the words “fake refugees” in a CNN headline! What is the world coming to!
I wonder did the nine resettlement contractors working for the State Department ever get a whiff of this kind of fraud when they had close personal contact with fake refugees?

German Interior Minister Warns of Migrant Wave Bigger Than 2015
German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer warned that the country could soon be overwhelmed by a refugee wave more significant than the one in 2015.
“We need to do more to help our European partners with controls at the EU’s external borders. We’ve left them alone for too long,” Seehofer said during a visit to Turkey. “If we don’t do this, we’ll experience a wave of refugees like in 2015 – or perhaps an even larger one.”
[….]
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has repeatedly threatened to “open the gates” for illegal immigrants if the European Union fails to meet his ever-increasing demands. Ankara could again use the threat to silence Europe if it wages war against the Kurds in neighboring Syria.

While Greece makes desperate calls for strengthening the border and coastal security, NGOs backed by Germany, and the EU continue to pick up migrants along the North African coasts and disembarking them in Greek, Spanish, and Italian ports. [I assume you know that Salvini, who had protected Italy for months, is out.—ed]
If financially bankrupt Greece is unable to secure its coastline, Berlin isn’t in any better shape either. Nearly a million migrants — mainly from Arab and Muslim countries — swarmed the country after Chancellor Merkel opened Germany’s borders in September 2015. The surge led to a series of deadly Islamic terror attacks and a rise in violent migrant crime.
Four years on, the Merkel-led Germany is unprepared to face a migrant wave of the magnitude witnessed last time. There were not enough trained police officers to man Germany’s border, the head of Germany’s police union admitted.
“We don’t even have winter boots,” chairman of the German Police Federation (GdP) Jörg Radek told Der Tagesspiegel newspaper.
Muslim refugees from 35 countries arrived in the US this fiscal year!
Granted fewer Muslims are entering the US right now as refugees compared to when Obama was in office, but yesterday I checked the data for this fiscal year (the one that is ending this coming Monday night) and was surprised at the great ethnic diversity of refugees from 35 countries representing several sects of Islam we have ‘welcomed’ this year.
It’s one of those reports meant to draw media attention to—you guessed it—that meany Donald Trump.
By the way, the Refugee Council USA (RCUSA) is a consortium of twenty plus Open Borders groups that includes the nine federal contractors and the Muslim charity Islamic Relief USA, see here.
RCUSA has a lobbying office in Washington, DC and their finances are handled byChurch World Service.
On page 8 of the report, they published a chart that caught my eye. They want to show how few Muslims the Trump Administration is admitting to the US compared to the huge numbers Obama admitted.
Here it is. FY16 is definitely Obama, but FY17 was already underway when Trump moved into the White House. FY18 is, of course, Trump’s, and the numbers for FY19 are only up to June (8 months of FY19).
(These are just the refugee numbers and do not include all of the other programs that admit immigrants to America.)
Even I was surprised at the huge number of especially Syrian Muslims admitted in Obama’s last full year!
But, their chart doesn’t tell the whole story!
First their column for FY19 through today is updated here:
Egypt 4
Iran 31 (no explanation for the discrepancy, I found 31)
Iraq 353
Libya 0
Mali 3
Somalia 230
Sudan 220
Syria 503
and Yemen 3
Okay, still not a lot you say. But, surely enough to prove there is no Muslim ban!
However, there is more. We admitted Muslim refugees from 35 different countries (not just the eight or so singled out by RCUSA).
In addition to those above:
Afghanistan came in at number one with 1,113, then Burma Rohingya (931), DR Congo (519), Eritrea (343), Central African Republic (165), Pakistan (78) and dozens more with smaller numbers for each.
The grand total of Muslim refugees admitted in FY19 up to yesterday is 4,759!
