Now he knows about the Australian Somali terror network

I just told you last night that Omar Jamal is into everything going on in the Somali community, not just in Minneapolis, but now it seems across the whole world.  Here, as reported at Bartamaha, his insider knowledge is (again) on full display.

AUSTRALIAN Somalis have been denied entry to the US as recently as May and at least three flew to their war-torn homeland to fight in late 2006, American activists claim.

Minneapolis Somali Justice Advocacy Centre director Omar Jamal said two Australian Somalis had tried to enter the US to attend a fundraising conference three months ago.

“They were from Australia and they were denied entry to the US,” he said.

Also, one Somali killed in 2006 during a clash between al-Shabaab jihadists and Somali government forces was found with an Australian passport, Mr Jamal said.

US members of the al-Shabaab extremist group, which is linked to al-Qaida, have been travelling to Australia for the past six years, one US Somali leader said.

Somali American Abdirizak Bihi* fears Australians, like his nephew Burhan Hassan, 17, have fled their homes and joined al-Shabaab in Somalia.

“We have been hearing of people who were fighting and died in the Islamist war as far back as 2006 who flew in from Melbourne that died in this war,” Mr Bihi said.

* We have heard directly from Abdirizak Bihi here, and I remarked about his willingness to confront the local Imams and CAIR and I don’t want to diminish that bravery by questioning how on earth Bihi’s comrade in arms Omar Jamal is into everything!  His ‘knowledge’ strains credulity!

What a coincidence that an editor of Bartamaha, the Somali publication that posted this story, was attacked and nearly killed in Minneapolis two nights ago.  I just a few minutes ago posted that news, here.  However I see that his beating took place the night before this story was published, so perhaps no connection.

Al Shabaab recruitment strategies point to international terror goals

Here is a long and detailed article published by McClatchy two days ago giving us more details about Somali terrorist recruitment and the threat it poses for the West and our allies including Kenya.

To Somali experts, however, the recruitment effort reflects the influence of al-Shabaab’s “foreign wing,” a small group of commanders with links to extremist groups in the Middle East and other regions. Under their leadership, al-Shabaab has morphed from a homegrown law-and-order movement into a wannabe al-Qaida affiliate in East Africa, with designs on carrying out attacks in foreign lands.

Omar Jamal: “A twist of faith” indeed

Note:  Before I launch into the latest from Omar, I need to mention that I am again way behind on the Missing Somali youth story.  More has been happening and I’ll try to catch you up tomorrow.

O.K.  I honestly don’t know what to make of this guy Omar Jamal, the head of the one man organization called the Somali Justice Advocacy Center .   We have been reporting on Jamal for a long time now.    I called him the ‘Somali Jesse Jackson’ last summer because when any Somali got in trouble for rape, or being involved with gangs, Jamal was always there.  He even blamed Bush and ‘no child left behind’ for the “community’s” troubles and dashed over to Denver to assure the FBI and the news media that the Somali who died with enough cyanide in his hotel room to kill a hundred people was just  a nut from Canada, not a terrorist.   (Search RRW for Omar Jamal and you will see what I mean).   Oh gee, how could I have forgotten, he even hurried over to Manhattan for the Somali pirate’s arrival in court there with plans to help protect his rights, but the judge didn’t let him in the courtroom.

Most troublesome is that he was convicted of immigration fraud and should have been deported a long time ago.  So why is he here and why is he in the middle of everything?

Yesterday the Minneapolis Star Tribune published an opinion piece by Jamal where he speaks out (for the hundreths time!) for the families of the missing youths, painting those who joined the Jihad as victims of unscrupulous Imams and other radical  “deranged”  indoctrinators twisting the faith.

Here are some segments of his opinion piece, see if you can figure out what he is up to.

Last winter, as I sat and talked with panic-stricken mothers whose sons had gone missing, each told a painful story about a boy for whom their families had great hopes. Their stories reflect the pain in the Somali community, which has been torn apart by a sheer twist of faith.

I had to laugh, did he mean ‘twist of fate’ which is a common phrase, or was it intentional to say ‘twist of faith’ which defintely applies in this case, but is his English that good to come up with such a clever play on words?

He tells us everything was going along just hunky-dory with the Somalis in Minnesota, the largest population of Somalis in North America he says and spreading out across the state, until the radicals got their hooks into the youth:

But at the same time, unemployment and stalled integration also led to an isolation and hopelessness for many young Somali men in Minnesota. The American dream became discouragingly far-fetched, and a gang lifestyle now is on the rise. The feelings of isolation, hopelessness and desolation have made the Somali community susceptible to deranged imams who can sway the opinion of the less-educated masses in any given direction with a single edict.

The call to a theocratic form of governance by a small group of radicals occupied a commanding voice in a community weary of a long civil war and mayhem. In order to bring an end to this ongoing, well-planned indoctrination and recruitment effort, not only in North America but also in Europe, we have to defeat this radical voice in the community, a voice that is manipulative, conniving, and bent on agitation and political madness.

O.K. already, we got the message, now just tell us who the well-funded evil doers are!

Somalia is now on the verge of collapse in the hands of Al-Shabaab, a terrorist wing of Al-Qaida in Somalia. What is more concerning is that Somali youths all over the world are still subject to more misleading indoctrination by an associated group well-funded to drive an already impoverished Somali community into more misery and suffering.

We must find a way to voice our opposition to the invasion and control of Somalis by outside forces, be it Al-Qaida or any other entity, in a way that does not permit our young men to be manipulated into becoming pawns to be killed in Somalia or to face prosecution for “material support for terrorism,” even when they are victims themselves from imams with long-term political ambitions.

Read the whole piece and let me know if you have any insight on what he is doing, besides stirring the pot.  I’m guessing he is probably right on the Imams, I don’t mean to diminish that likelihood, but all of this doesn’t seem to fit his past role in the “community.”  So what is he really up to?

Rwandan Refugee, is he or isn’t he a mass murderer?

That is the question this Buffalo News story asks us to consider.   Let me say at the outset, I have no clue and apparently hardly anyone else knows either.  Read the whole article and see what you think.   It begins:

In America, Benoit Kabayiza is a success story — a family man who came here as a refugee a decade ago, not knowing a word of English, but later graduating from two colleges before becoming an accountant.

But back in his homeland of Rwanda, government prosecutors portray him as a torturer and mass murderer and accuse him of being one of the leaders in the extermination of Tutsi tribe members during the 1994 Rwanda Genocide, when 800,000 people were slain in 100 days.

“[Kabayiza] trained, indoctrinated, encouraged, provided criminal intelligence, transported and distributed arms” to mobs who murdered and raped the Tutsis, an indictment a Rwandan government prosecutor filed in 2007 read.

Interpol, the international police organization based in France, identifies Kabayiza as Ntawukuriryayo, a fugitive accused of genocide and war crimes.

Rwanda’s government also alleges that Kabayiza’s father — a powerful government official in Rwanda at the time of the genocide — orchestrated the murders of more than 25,000 Tutsis.

But friends and supporters of Kabayiza say they are convinced the charges are untrue. They also claim that Rwanda’s government has political reasons for calling Kabayiza a genocide leader.

Read on and hear both sides of the case.

Reform needed

There are only a few comments, but two of them prove a point that we continually try to make at RRW, and that is that the general public has absolutely NO idea that the refugee resettlement program exists, let alone how it works.  That must be corrected.  Here are the two comments:

From Robert14219:

why is buffalo so attractive to these foreigners who come here for WELFARE ? and who is paying for the lawyer(s) to defend this guy ?…hope its not the erie county taxpayers

DarkO714:

What type of visa is he here on?

It is incumbent on every “welcoming” resettlement city government, the government contractor resettlement agencies and its local news paper to be responsible for educating the public.  Yes, there will be those who object which must be the reason the secrecy continues.   But, the local citizens have a right to know what programs Washington is bringing to their community!  If Washington can’t prove to local citizens that it is a good program that will benefit the community, then it shouldn’t be permitted.

One boy indicted so far in Phoenix child rape case

This is an update of the story we first posted here.  From AP:

PHOENIX – A 14-year-old boy has been indicted in connection with the rape of an 8-year-old Liberian refugee at a Phoenix apartment complex, authorities said Saturday.

Police say four boys, also from Liberia, lured the girl to an empty storage shed July 16 with the promise of chewing gum. Investigators say the boys restrained her and took turns sexually assaulting her.

The incident ignited an international outcry after it was reported the girl’s father said he was ashamed of her. A family pastor later said that was a misunderstanding.

[…..]

The girl is now in foster care.

In some parts of Africa, women often are blamed for being raped for enticing men or simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Girls who are raped often are shunned by their families.

Diversity is strength, right!
