Egypt’s Coptic Christians taking refuge in Georgia (the country)

Egypt’s long-persecuted Coptic Christians are getting out of dodge—out of Egypt in spite of the removal of the Obama Administration’s pals, the Muslim Brotherhood, from the seat of power.

They are being welcomed in Christian Georgia.

From the Global Post (thanks to a reader for sending it):

TBILISI, Georgia — Ever since ouster of Egyptian strongman President Hosni Mubarak two years ago, Adel has faced a difficult dilemma: Leave behind a relatively cushy life in Egypt or stay and risk discrimination and violence as religious and sectarian tensions rise.

[….]

“In Egypt, it’s difficult to get visas to the U.S. or Europe,” 50-year-old Adel says. “We didn’t chose Georgia, Georgia is choosing us.”

He’s not alone. Christian minorities from both Egypt and Syria are starting to look to the South Caucasus countries of Georgia and Armenia as a refuge from violence and uncertainly.

The choice isn’t as random as it may seem. Sandwiched between Turkey, Iran and Russia’s predominately Muslim North Caucasus regions, both Georgia and Armenia have ancient Christian traditions dating back to the 4th century. Their churches are closely related to the Copts and other Eastern Christian confessions.

Muslim Brotherhood is the reason they are moving out.  Even out of power, the MB is dangerous!

Adel, who asked that his last name not be used for fear of reprisals against his family, said that although Christians faced discrimination under Mubarak’s long rule, the Muslim Brotherhood’s rise to power in 2012 has increased pressure on religious minorities and led many of Egypt’s estimated 5 million to 15 million Copts to look for the exits.

[….]

Although he supports the Egyptian military’s ouster of the Muslim Brotherhood government earlier this month, he says he fears the Islamist organization will be “just as dangerous out of power.”

Oh, yuk, see this from The Economist only yesterday where the EU is pressuring Georgia to have “European values.”

Ho Hum! Rudd’s a racist

Australia has a boat people problem.  Too many aliens are attempting to land there with hopes of getting asylum and the new government under Kevin Rudd has a plan.  We told you about it here.

See the latest on anti-Rudd protests at the Brisbane Times. (Photo is from that opinion piece)

Clearly the Marxists* don’t like the plan and so therefore all they know how to do is to call those who oppose their wide-open borders multi-culti dreamland “racists.”

Calling all Socialists and Communists—-please tell us if you have any limit to the number of people who could migrate to your country.   Do you believe that countries like Australia should just open its borders to any one who wishes to come?  How would the workers pay for all those needy people?  What happens to Marxism when the largest numbers of asylum seekers are Muslims who don’t believe in Marxism, and they ultimately become the majority?

I’m serious (I would like to ask this girl carrying the sign) would any reader who considers himself (or herself) a Socialist please tell us if there is a limit for you—a magic number that would be too many?

* Photo:  See the sign with SA at the bottom.  That must be Australia’s ‘Socialist Alternative’––a Marxist organization.

For new readers, visit our Australia category where this will be our 104th post on the problems with refugees, asylum seekers and illegal aliens downunder.  From my vantage point it seems that immigration is the major policy issue facing that country right now.

Breivik’s message to Norway (Pravda doesn’t mind mentioning it)

Where is the rest of the media?

Earlier this week few media outlets marked the second anniversary of Anders Breivik’s slaughter of mostly children of the political ruling class in Norway reminding us of those iconic monkeys.  But, I see that Pravda isn’t shy about presenting some facts.

Honestly, I think the average westerner, average American (including reporters), can simply not wrap their minds around the demographic fact that Europe will be a Muslim-dominated continent by mid-century if there are no immediate policy-changes regarding refugees and immigration generally.

Here are several snips from the Pravda piece on the anniversary of Breivik’s “message.”  The article is worth reading in its entirety.

Two years have passed since the dreadful massacre in Norway by an ultra-right activist Anders Breivik. The tragedy has highlighted the fact that the country’s authorities have failed to solve the problem of immigrants, especially Muslims. Inaction of the authorities largely provoked the heinous crime whose victims were mostly Norwegians.

[….]

The most unpleasant fact for the Norwegian authorities is that many citizens of the kingdom, while finding Breivik’s actions unacceptable, partially agree with some of his ideas. In the 2009 elections, the ultra-right Progress Party won the second place with 23 percent of the vote, demanding to ban Muslim immigration and restrict immigration altogether. Norwegian Muslims from the local Center for Combating Racism complained that after Breivik’s crime the attitude towards them has only worsened.

Can you imagine a paragraph like this one in any major publication in the West?

Norwegian official statistics says that the unemployment rate among immigrants from Asia and Africa exceeds nine percent, while among the indigenous Norwegians it is four times lower. Why would they work? Unemployment benefits amount to a thousand dollars a month, child benefits are even larger. They can live, breed, and the government will pay. As a result, indigenous Norwegian taxpayers have been maintaining a number of immigrant slackers for decades.

Breivik predicted that in ten years Oslo would be Muslim:

Muslim immigrants whose number amounts to approximately 180,000 (over three percent of the population) have even harder time integrating into the local community. 32,000 of them came from Pakistan, 28,000 – from Iraq and Somalia. 16-17 thousand people from Turkey, Iran and Bosnia reside in the country; there are also numerous immigrants from Afghanistan and Kosovo. A significant portion of immigrants from Russia (16,000) are natives of the North Caucasus.

The first mosque in Oslo was erected in 1974, and today there are several of them. Various Muslim organizations operate in the country. As of last year, approximately 40 percent of school children in the capital were children of Muslim families. In 58 of the 136 schools children of immigrants (mostly Muslims) already make up the majority of students. Breivik concluded that in ten years city of Oslo will be Muslim, and many agreed with him.

“We came to change you!”  (Iraqi Kurd now in prison in Norway):

An Iraqi Kurd nicknamed Mullah Krekar has been living in Norway for over 20 years. “We came to change you. Look at the population growth in Europe where the number of Muslims is growing like a mosquito swarm. In 2050, 30 percent of the population in Europe will be Muslim,” he said.

Here comes my nag!  Don’t forget to read about Al-Hijra.  The Islamic Doctrine of jihad by immigration (and how we deal with it) is, in my view, a more significant factor in the future of the West than any terrorist attacks or upheavals in the Middle East making headlines today.

Malta: Muscat push-back plan gets attention from big media

The Telegraph has a detailed article on Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s plan to try to stem the tide of illegal aliens arriving on Malta, and getting stuck with them, because the EU rules they must abide by are really screwy.

“Refugees” hanging around in Malta waiting for a ticket out—to the US maybe!

We told you about the plan here and  here the other day.   If no changes are made Malta will eventually become a Muslim country, and the US will have played a role.

Here is the UK Telegraph:

The tiny island of Malta has received 17,743 mainly African migrants this decade – the equivalent, in Britain, of 2.5 million people. And it is struggling to cope, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat says.

[….]

Perched on a tiny but strategic set of islands between Europe and Africa, the Maltese have long prided themselves on their ability to repel unwanted invaders. In the 1500s, their resident Knights of St John were the heroes of Europe after seeing off the Ottoman Turks, and in the Second World War, they won the George Cross for helping Britain to keep Hitler at bay.

Their latest efforts to turn back a foreign armada, however, are unlikely to win such plaudits. Or not from the European Union, anyway, which last week was embroiled in a bitter row with Mr Muscat’s government over its plans to return Mr Abdi [a newly arrived Somali from Libya] and his ilk to Libya, from where they came in a people-smuggling boat 12 days ago.

Malta the doormat:

….the row has highlighted how Malta – and nearby Italy – is struggling to reconcile their obligations as EU states with their unsought role as the doormat for illegal migrants from Africa seeking entry to Europe.

EU rules keep them in Malta:

….few African immigrants seek to put down roots down in Malta, preferring instead to head to mainland Europe, where job prospects are better, and where they can legally go under the Schengen arrangements.

But that creates another problem. The rules insist they must return to the country where they first claimed asylum within three months, and while the majority simply overstay, every year hundreds are caught and forcibly returned to Malta from other Schengen countries.

The US to the rescue!

For new readers this is why we follow closely the controversy with illegal aliens (yes, The Telegraph calls them that in this piece) arriving on Malta—we are taking the largest share to America in a perversion of international refugee law.

Katrine Camilleri with Jesuit Refugee Services

A transfer scheme is already in place, but over the past decade other European nations have taken only 700 of Malta’s arrivals, with the US taking 1,300.

* Photo above is from this story where an immigration lawyer, Katrine Camilleri, (we mentioned her here) got an award for her stellar work with the migrants arriving on Malta.  This is what we want to know:

How many “refugees” has Ms. Katrine Camilleri welcomed to live in her home?

One more thing, Muscat represents the Center Left party in Malta and they are ticked-off at being labeled “xenophobes” by the immigration industry advocates.

Egypt: Black African refugees claim UN treats Arab refugees better

There is nothing new that we haven’t written about here at RRW in recent years, but it’s a short and handy reminder of what is happening in Africa and the Middle East and some new readers may not know that black Africans, even the ones who are Muslim, are not liked by Arabs.

Fences make good neighbors! Israel built a border fence along its Egyptian border. Photo by Eliyahu Hershkovitz at Haaretz

From Israel News Service:

Black African refugees in Egypt are frustrated by ongoing racism and discrimination, particularly as they witness the assistance given to Arab refugees, the pan-Arab Aljazeera network reports.

Sources told the network that they have few rights in Egypt. “Even if you’re a recognized refugee, and you have a blue card, you have no right to medical treatment, no right to education, no right to work,” NGO programmer Christopher Eades explained.

Aid worker and refugee Yagoub Hamdan told Aljazeera, “When there was an influx of African refugees, there was no attention from the NGOs.” But when Syrian refugees began to arrive, he said, the United Nations took notice, and built camps for them.

So, the Africans went to Israel in large numbers (see our category on Israel and refugees) until they wore out their welcome and Israel built a border fence.

In recent years, African Muslim refugees in Egypt increasingly began fleeing to Israel, which provides illegal entrants with several social services. High crime among Sudanese and Eritrean migrants, particularly high-profile incidents of violent rape and anti-Semitism, led to a backlash against Israeli policy.

In recent months  the government completed a border fence that has contributed to a massive drop in illegal entry from Egypt.

Note to Obama:  It can be done!
