Australia deal: Dumb then, dumb now, and will be dumber still in October

Does anyone other than me find it ironic that Australia has gone ballistic (as they should) over one of their upstanding citizens being shot to death in Minneapolis by a Somali police officer (former refugee), yet the Australian government wants to send us even more Somali ‘refugees’ that they have themselves rejected?

Immigration Minister Peter Dutton fully expects Trump to take their rejected boat people in the new fiscal year. You gotta see what Dutton says about illiterate ‘refugees’ here: http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/671501/Minister-migrants-illiterate-Peter-Dutton-Immigration-Minister-australia

As I have been trying to hammer-home to readers, don’t get bogged down in the legal minutia regarding the 120-day moratorium and the back and forth between the rogue Hawaiian judge (on behalf of refugee contractors and their ilk) and the Supreme Court (that has gone way beyond its constitutional authority on refugees).

What is important is what President Donald Trump DETERMINES in September is the right number and the right ethnic groups to ‘welcome’ to the US in fiscal year 2018 (begins October 1, 2017).

By law, in September, the President sends his ‘determination’ for FY18 to The Hill for CONSULTATION.

If this year is like the previous 35 years, Congress will rubber stamp what the President sends (except LOL! they won’t rubber stamp zero!).

See below that the Australian government is now counting on a return to normal for the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program(USRAP) for October.  They fully expect Trump to continue with the “dumb deal” Obama made in the waning weeks of his presidency and put these Australian rejects in his determination letter and report to Congress.

We expect the President to stick with his campaign promises and get this monster under control. This Executive Order mess isn’t what we had in mind when we voted for Donald Trump, and he can’t possibly think this short (chaotic) hiatus will solve any longstanding problems with the USRAP.

From AP at ABC News:

Australia disappointed by delay in US refugee resettlement

I have to laugh! In the first paragraph we are reminded by AP that these are Australia’s rejects!

AP at ABC News (emphasis is mine):

MANUS ISLAND DETENTION CENTRE: If Donald Trump goes through with the “dumb deal” these men from mostly Muslim countries will be placed (without your knowledge) in a town near you just to save the political neck of the present Australian government.

Australia was disappointed that hundreds of its rejected refugees would not begin resettling in the United States this month under a deal that predates President Donald Trump’s administration, an official said on Friday.

President Barack Obama’s administration agreed to accept up to 1,250 refugees among hundreds of asylum seekers — mostly from Iran, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka*** — who have been languishing for up to four years in immigration camps on the impoverished Pacific island nations of Papua New Guinea and Nauru.

Immigration and Border Protection Minister Peter Dutton said Australia wanted the refugees to start moving in July, but the United States had already filled its 50,000 refugee quota for the current fiscal year.

“We’re disappointed that they haven’t been able to move this month, which was my hope, but their new program year starts on Oct. 1, and we’re working with both the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security to ensure that we can get people off as quickly as possible,” Dutton told reporters.

[….]

Dutton said he was determined to close the men-only camp on Manus Island in Papua New Guinea by the end of October. [Men-only camp for up four years! And they will be free to roam in Your Town, USA!—ed]

Asylum seekers on Manus who were rejected by the United States would be transferred to Nauru, who will remain open indefinitely.

Rarely mentioned is the fact that 1,900 illegal aliens have been awarded a settlement which amounts to about $35,000 per head.

Australia last month reached a settlement of 90 million Australian dollars ($68 million) with more than 1,900 asylum seekers who sued over their treatment on Manus.

***See here where we were told that most of the wannabe US citizens housed in detention on Manus and Nauru are from Somali, Afghanistan and Sudan.

The "Gypsies" causing community outrage in a Pittsburgh suburb are wannabe refugees

A friend e-mailed last night to alert me to the controversy she had been hearing about through another friend living in the outraged community—California, PA.
Coincidentally, although I didn’t see it, I believe Tucker Carlson did a story on the town and its enraged citizens last night as well.

Downtown California, PA, another town roiled by a federal immigration agency from Washington, DC. secretly placing migrants there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California,_Pennsylvania

It seems that rather than hold in detention migrants who got to the US illegally and have apparently asked for political asylum, the federal government is placing large numbers in unsuspecting communities.  Although I have no proof, I will bet a buck that the placement of wannabe ‘refugees’ is being facilitated with our usual gang of refugee contractors.
I looked around for news on the “gypsy” controversy and found many stories including this one at The Blaze:

Residents in California, Pennsylvania, a small borough of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area, have said they are outraged after the federal government moved 40 Romanian “gypsies” into the town of 7,000 as part of the government’s Alternative to Detention program.

On Thursday, more than 150 residents attended a community meeting about the immigrants, who residents say have failed to assimilate to American customs and norms. The residents cited trash in yards, disruptions in town markets, children and men defecating in public streets, and immigrants cutting off the heads of chickens in public areas, according to a report by WTAE-TV. None of the immigrants, who are undocumented, have been charged with any other serious criminal offenses. [I’ve found over the years that there is nothing that infuriates a community more than public crapping!—ed]

[….]

The Romanian immigrants ended up in the California borough as part of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Alternative to Detention program, which allows immigrants to live in U.S. communities instead of being detained while they await a final decision about their immigration status.

[….]

About 600 residents have signed a petition demanding the gypsies change their living habits. [Assimilation issue again!—ed]

More here.
Although the word ‘asylum’ is not mentioned, surely these Roma people are waiting for a decision from an asylum court about whether they will be granted refugee status.
For new readers there are two normal channels for getting that most desired immigration status we can bestow on anyone (because doors are opened, the migrant gets a caseworker and refugees are eligible for most forms of welfare)—refugee status!
The normal channel is the one we write about most often—that is where we fly refugees in (most chosen by the UN) and place them with a refugee contractor.  The other channel is for a migrant to get to the US on his/her own steam (most often illegally) and then ask for political asylum.  If granted asylum, the migrant is just as much a refugee as the ones we fly in.  The Tsarnaev (Boston Bombers) were in a family granted asylum and were therefore REFUGEES.
We approve asylum for about 25,000 each year (see here) and that is in addition to the numbers we are always talking about as part of the President’s annual determination (50,194 as of today for FY17).
Those hundreds of thousands of mostly economic migrants from Africa and the Middle East working their way to Europe are going to ask for asylum there (they are NOT refugees, yet)—European countries could turn them down if they had the guts.
I spent a few minutes looking around for other information on the illegal movement of Roma and found this very informative AP story from 2012 about Roma crossing the Mexican border on their way to Canada. So, it appears we have apprehended this group in California, PA before they could get to our northern border.

Australia "dumb deal" looks dead for now

How did a Reuters reporter get tipped off that the deal was fizzling?

Some men in Australian detention centers are talking to the press.

By a ‘refugee’ with a pipeline to western media!
Makes you wonder if these ‘refugees’ will be trouble-makers if they ever get to America.
This news should not come as a shock since we did reach the 50,000 CEILING last week (for FY17) and these ‘refugees’ likely have no “bona fide relationships” with anyone in America or with federal contractors (except maybe the IRC could claim a relationship?).

The story is from AAP (Australia Associated Press):

US officials interviewing refugees held in an Australian-run offshore detention centre have left the facility abruptly, throwing further doubt over a plan to resettle many of the detainees in America.

US officials halted screening interviews and departed the Pacific island of Nauru on Friday, two weeks short of their scheduled timetable and a day after Washington said the United States had reached its annual refugee intake cap.

“US (officials) were scheduled to be on Nauru until July 26 but they left on Friday,” one refugee told Reuters, requesting anonymity as he did not want to jeopardise his application for US resettlement.

In the United States, a senior member of the union that represents refugee officers at US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), a Department of Homeland Security agency, told Reuters his own trip to Nauru was not going forward as scheduled.

[….]

The Australian Immigration Department declined to comment on the whereabouts of the US officials or the future of a refugee swap agreement between Australia and the United States, which President Donald Trump earlier this year branded a “dumb deal”.

An indefinite postponement of the deal would have significant repercussions for Australia’s pledge to close a second detention centre on Papua New Guinea’s Manus island on October 31.

Only 70 refugees, less than 10 per cent of the total detainees held in the camp, have completed US processing.

Sure Malcolm, you got a deal! The US will take over 1,000 of your rejected asylum seekers (mostly from terror-producing Muslim countries) and you will take some undetermined number of Central Americans, mostly Catholics, who are not refugees and who are safe in Costa Rica—what a deal!

“The US deal looks more and more doubtful,” Ian Rintoul from the Refugee Action Coalition said.

Former US President Obama agreed a deal with Australia late last year to offer refuge to up to 1250 asylum seekers.

[On the backs of US taxpayers!—ed]

The Trump administration said it would only honour the deal to maintain a strong relationship with Australia, and then only on condition that refugees satisfied strict checks.

[On the backs of communities that must absorb these men from terror hot spots—ed]

In exchange, Australia has pledged to take Central American refugees from a centre in Costa Rica, where the United States has taken in a larger number of people in recent years.

[Any fake refugees in Costa Rica are not our problem—ed]

The swap is designed, in part, to help Australia close both Manus and Nauru, which are expensive to run and have been widely criticised by the United Nations and others over treatment of detainees.

[And American taxpayers and communities get the short end of the stick—ed]

[….]

The majority of the detainees interviewed on both Manus and Nauru by US officials in April are from Sudan, Somalia and Afghanistan.

More here at AAP.

This is wrong, wrong, wrong!

As early as 2012 I testified to the US State Department that the US Refugee Admissions Program should not be used to solve extracurricular diplomatic problems around the world.
Only legitimate refugees in need of humanitarian assistance should be considered for the program.  Instead we repeatedly move certain people (including troublemakers! Uzbeks for instance!) around the world for reasons other than humanitarian ones and that is wrong!
This is what I said (beginning in 2012) in Ten Reasons there should be a MORATORIUM!

7)   Congress needs to specifically disallow the use of the refugee program for other purposes of the US Government, especially using certain refugee populations to address unrelated foreign policy objectives—Uzbeks, Kosovars, Meshketians and Bhutanese (Nepalese) people come to mind.

Now it is mostly Muslims held in Australian detention centers we might be bringing to your towns!
Why should helping Australian Prime Minister Turnbull get off a political hook be solved on the backs of US taxpayers?

And why should American communities be saddled with these questionable people as neighbors?
I ask that of the Trump White House and the Heritage Foundation, here, where their expert on refugees seems to see this (diplomacy) as a legitimate purpose of the USRAP—see five reasons the USRAP is good for America as a tool for diplomacy.

Write to the White House.  Today you can encourage the President to kill this deal altogether!

Germany reaping the whirlwind of infectious diseases admitted to the country along with the migrants

Gatestone has a very informative piece this morning, thanks to reader Cathy for sending it my way.

Germans greet refugees in Berlin (2014): Onlookers clapped and chanted: “Say it loud, say it clear, refugees are welcome here.” http://www.euractiv.com/section/justice-home-affairs/news/refugees-greeted-to-cheers-in-germany-as-eu-bickers-over-quotas/

As you read this story, do NOT forget that refugees entering the US are being permitted entry even if they have TB.  We learned just this week that the state of Minnesota was financially strapped as its health system attempts to cope with infectious diseases in its migrant community.
So although this story involves Germany, you, Americans are not immune!
Just like in Germany the reason you don’t hear about the diseases in the refugee flow to America is because authorities are “downplaying the threat in an effort to avoid fueling anti-immigration sentiments.”
And, as I have said repeatedly if Islamic terrorism doesn’t worry you, this should…..

(Emphasis below is mine)

Germany: Infectious Diseases Spreading as Migrants Settle In

A failed asylum seeker from Yemen who was given sanctuary at a church in northern Germany to prevent him from being deported has potentially infected more than 50 German children with a highly contagious strain of tuberculosis.

The man, who was sheltered at a church in Bünsdorf between January and May 2017, was in frequent contact with the children, some as young as three, who were attending a day care center at the facility. He was admitted to a hospital in Rendsburg in June and subsequently diagnosed with tuberculosis — a disease which only recently has reentered the German consciousness.

Local health authorities say that in addition to the children, parents and teachers as well as parishioners are also being tested for the disease, which can develop months or even years after exposure. It remains unclear if the man received the required medical exams when he first arrived in Germany, or if he is one of the hundreds of thousands of migrants who have slipped through the cracks.

The tuberculosis scare has cast a renewed spotlight on the increased risk of infectious diseases in Germany since Chancellor Angela Merkel allowed in around two million migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

[….]

The incidence of Hepatitis B, for example, has increased by 300% during the last three years, according to the RKI. The number of reported cases in Germany was 3,006 in 2016, up from 755 cases in 2014. Most of the cases are said to involve unvaccinated migrants from Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. The incidence of measles in Germany jumped by more than 450% between 2014 and 2015, while the number of cases of chicken pox, meningitis, mumps, rubella and whooping cough were also up. Migrants also accounted for at least 40% of the new cases of HIV/AIDS identified in Germany since 2015, according to a separate RKI report.

The RKI statistics may be just the tip of the iceberg. The number of reported cases of tuberculosis, for example, was 5,915 in 2016, up from 4,488 cases in 2014, an increase of more than 30% during that period. Some doctors, however, believe that the actual number of cases of tuberculosis is far higher and have accused the RKI of downplaying the threat in an effort to avoid fueling anti-immigration sentiments.

I ask repeatedly, but never get an answer: Do volunteers who work with refugees in the US get any sort of training about how to spot infectious diseases in those they are helping and how to protect their own families at home?

Today is the UN-designated World Refugee Day

The first World Refugee Day was held on June 20th, 2001 (3 months before 9/11) and it is used as a focal point, for open borders activists and leftwing media, around which to organize a political message.  So, you have probably noticed many stories in the last few days about the need for more third world peoples to be admitted to the first world.

Just to give you an idea, there are pages and pages of World Refugee Day logos like these around which to build propaganda campaigns (to guilt trip the West, especially the US, to take in more third worlders).

You likely know, but here (below) is a handy graphic to confirm that the US takes the majority of the refugees that the UNHCR is selecting for western countries from their camps. (BTW, recently a Somali man wrote to me to tell me about the fraud in a UN camp in Africa where people were being paid off to move certain applications to the front of the line. Of course, I have no way of verifying this.)
If you are scratching your head and saying, but doesn’t Germany take the most? the answer is that Germany is being flooded by ‘asylum seekers’ and economic migrants who have gone there on their own steam.  They are not considered third country refugee resettlement cases.
Germany will presumably sort through the hundreds of thousands of Africans and Middle Easterners and make a determination about how many will be given permanent residence as legitimate refugees and ultimately citizenship.
Favorite Open Borders talking point: small neighboring countries (to Syria) take more refugees.
When you see stories about Turkey (I’m posting one shortly) and their millions (?) of Syrian refugees, remember those are NOT people going to be granted permanent resident (citizenship) status in Turkey, likewise those in Lebanon or Jordan will not become voting citizens of those countries.

Resettled UNHCR refugees will be given citizenship in the country in which they are placed, so for this the United States is destination number one!

See here, from IRIN:

According also to IRIN yesterday, Canada is going to take up some of the 2017 slack that meany Donald Trump is supposedly responsible for.
Go for it Justin, let’s just make sure our northern border is secure!
