Happy 4th birthday to us!

It’s hard to believe that we’ve been writing about refugees for 4 years this month!  I almost missed our birthday month until I noticed today that we had some time ago passed the One Million Viewers mark—we have had 1,010,143 viewers at RRW over four years!   Now, that is not much by popular blog standards, but for a blog devoted to a rather arcane subject, it’s not bad.

Also in 4 years we’ve written 3,785 posts in 48 categories.    Just a reminder to readers that our search function is really good, just enter a few key words on a subject you are searching and see if we’ve written about it.  You might also enter your city or state to see if we have something from where you live.

Thanks to all of our readers and commenters for your continuing interest in the issue of refugee resettlement and in learning more about Legal immigration in general.

A reminder to commenters

We have a couple of comments lately that personally attack other commenters.  As I’ve said many times previously, I don’t care if you call me names.  Or, you can say stuff like American (liberals, rightwingers) stink or Muslims are fanatics or refugees want goodies or white Europeans are racists, or whatever.  But, I’m not posting any comments that are addressed to another person directly with a statement like “YOU are _____ (fill in with idiot, racist, xenophobe, hatemonger, etc.).”  That is usually the fallback position liberals (and occasionally others) use when shaming someone into silence hasn’t worked—they start the direct namecalling.

I may have from time to time missed some of those sorts of direct attacks, but I do try to catch them and because we have had a rash of those lately, I’m back on the warpath about it.

Oh, and we don’t talk about violence toward anyone.

If your comment hasn’t been posted and you wondered why, you might go back and re-write it with some changes.

Comment worth noting: Ho Hum! What else is new—Leftist uses personal attacks

So Funny!  This just made me laugh.  They are so predictable.   Once Leftists can’t get you with any rational arguments they resort to personal attacks all the while purporting to be such kind humanitarians.   Here we have reader “So Sad” commenting to this post, and I’m posting it below so you don’t miss it!

So Sad:

Ann, is it impossible for you to differentiate between deeply corrupt governments and disenfranchised citizens?

Honestly, I’m really sorry for your children. To have been brought into a family which has such disdain for people of non-white, non-North American backgrounds. To be raised by a person who thinks that white Americans are the center of the universe.

So Sad is also commenter Yerfunny and Fun Times in an apparent effort to deceive and make it appear that he or she is more than one person.

Time for So Sad, Yerfunny and Fun Times to write your own blog.  And, as I have said over the years, you can call it Refugee Resettlement Watch Watch (call us racists, xenophobes, bigots, whatever) and we will even give you a link!

Again, we are not a resettlement agency

Once again we are getting an increased number of pleas from people around the world asking us to help them get into the US.   We are not a resettlement agency.  We do not work for the US government (we don’t work for anyone actually).  We are merely a news and opinion website.

On the right sidebar you will see that we have this information clearly noted just above instructions for logging in.  We also have an expanded version of that message linked at the top of the page, here.    So, sorry we don’t post comments that give personal information and are requests for resettlement help.

Shocking graphic shows US population rise from immigration

Check out this website ‘Comprehensive Immigration Reduction’ to see how rapidly US population is increasing from all of our LEGAL and illegal immigration sources.     Hat tip:  Paul.

My only complaint is that the refugee number is too low.  It is not 35,000 but in recent years has been in the 75,000 range.  Obama this year asked for 80,000.

Makes you kind of wonder where the Lefty environmentalists are on the immigration issue. Shouldn’t they be concerned about all the houses, cars, schools that will destroy the environment and open space as the population booms? (Oh, that’s right, the environmental leaders like Carl Pope of the Sierra Club are Marxists and working with Van Jones to bring on the Revolution.)

That reminds me, wouldn’t someone please undertake to write some blogs on these other immigration programs—the diversity visa needs attention every day, as does the treaty investor program (food stamp fraud!), and how about someone please follow the student visa scam!
