Dallas: Refugee Contractor Expands Role, Works to Stop Deportations of Illegal Aliens

As the Trump Administration slows the flow of refugees into the US, the refugee contractors including the mack daddy of the whole bunch—the International Rescue Committee–is now going to provide lawyers for migrants who are scheduled for deportation as a way of expanding its financial base and its influence.

I’ve been telling readers for a long time that the nine refugee contractors working for the US State Department do not just place refugees and supposedly care for them, but are involved in all open borders issues, legal and illegal in the US and around the world.  This story is more proof of that!

From the Dallas Morning News:

Deportation defense fund for immigrants is about to launch in the city of Dallas

The International Rescue Committee in Dallas, an agency that’s resettled refugees for decades in North Texas, is expanding its services to immigrants caught up in deportation proceedings.

The Kenyan Killer, Bill Chemirmir, should have been deported from Dallas long before he allegedly murdered at least 22 elderly women for their jewelry. Will the IRC make it possible for even more heinous crimes against Americans to be committed? https://fraudscrookscriminals.com/2020/02/06/number-of-victims-of-texas-kenyan-killer-reaches-22-additional-lawsuits-filed/

The IRC will administer $200,000 in grants from the City of Dallas and the Vera Institute of Justice, a New York-based nonprofit, for an attorney and other staffing.

The IRC is now in “turbo mode” due to sweeping changes in national immigration, asylum and refugee policies, said Suzy Cop, the executive director of the Dallas IRC office. “There’s a huge waitlist to get legal representation. It’s great that the city finds this so important.”

The new fund is a first for Dallas and was recommended by an immigration task force advising the city’s Office of Welcoming Communities and Immigrant Affairs.

The Vera Institute has been administering such private-public programs for immigrants since 2013. It began in New York City and spread to such cities as Austin, San Antonio, Sacramento, Santa Ana and Chicago.

[….]

Suzy Cop, the executive director of the Dallas IRC office will make it possible for more like Billy Chemirmir to not be deported from Dallas.

For years, the IRC has assisted individuals who obtain permanent residency after one year as a refugee, and then with their U.S. citizenship process. They have assisted refugees with U.S. legal status who petition for family members living abroad. It also runs anti-human trafficking programs.

The local IRC provides mental health services. It also now assists immigrants with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA. And it runs an economic development program that prepares clients, refugees to immigrants, for jobs.

The IRC has steadily expanded its services beyond refugee resettlement just as the administration of President Donald Trump has scaled back refugee admissions. Refugee admissions were cut to 18,000 last September, down from a ceiling of 110,000 when President Obama left office in January of 2017.

When I called the IRC the “mack daddy” it is because they are the richest of the contractors.  I was going to analyze their USA Spending report here, but will do it in a separate post.

Trump Administration Cuts $500 Million from Central American NGO’s Budgets

Holy cow!  Who knew! Not only do millions of your tax dollars go to the nine federal refugee contractors*** in the US, but we send apparently billions to supposedly Christian social justice groups in places like Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador.

Let the wailing begin as the groups claim that they use our millions to keep citizens of those countries from fleeing toward our southern border, so cutting them off is wrong they say.

It is pretty clear for all to see that even with billions of dollars over the years they have failed spectacularly in stopping the invasion and I assume the State Department has pretty much figured that out.

Honduran migrants on the way to the US in 2018

I wish I had time today to take a deep dive into past funding for the groups that include, Proyecto Aldea Global, Association for a More Just Society, International Justice Mission and World Vision, but I don’t.

Here is the story at Christianity Today:

Christian Nonprofits Reeling from Trump Cuts to Foreign Aid

Christian ministries in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador know they are in for a tough year. The US government has drastically cut aid to the three Central American countries in response to the large number of refugees who have fled north to seek asylum in America. Some of the more than $500 million of US taxpayer money was going to Christian nonprofits working on economic development, anti-corruption efforts, and helping children in poverty in the three countries. Those ministries will have to lay people off, reduce services, and scramble to find other funds.  [Just call George Soros and ask him to supply the funds—ed]

“The Trump administration shot itself in the foot with these cuts,” said Chet Thomas, director of Proyecto Aldea Global in Honduras, which has been forced to stop a job training program that gave teenagers alternatives to working for criminal gangs. “These projects are designed to … reduce the number of people migrating to the US.”

US foreign aid flows through various channels. In many cases, it ends up funding nongovernmental organizations, including Christian relief organizations in the area of Central American known as the Northern Triangle. Many of these address the conditions that cause people to flee their homes and seek asylum, leading to a crisis at the US border. Some ministries work directly with host governments to train national staff and increase the effectiveness of state institutions. Others focus more on community development, often building connections with local churches that don’t trust their government and don’t have many of their own resources.

Governments must do their jobs!

Justifying the cuts, the State Department appeared to downplay the role of nonprofit groups in addressing migration. “We expect the governments of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras to keep their commitments to stem illegal immigration to the United States,” it said in a statement.

More here.

Sure looks to me that the State Department calculated that based on the hordes flooding to the US border, we weren’t getting our money’s worth from these ‘Christian non-profits’.

However, some US ‘religious charities’ are not seeing huge funding cuts!

*** Here (below) are the nine federal refugee resettlement contractors.

I’m not posting my usual spiel, but only want to say that in my analysis of funds received by three contractors (so far) since Trump took office, only the US Conference of Catholic Bishops has taken a large cut in its federal funding.

Church World Service and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service are still about on par with federal funding as they were under Obama.

I’ll have more to say when I’ve been through all nine.

Uganda: UN Re-opens Corruption Investigation at Camp Where US-bound Refugees are Housed

I’ve been sounding like a broken record when I continue to report that we are taking tens of thousands of DR Congolese refugees (housed in camps like this one) at the behest of the United Nations.

Nakivale’s camp sign, where corruption is alleged, is meaningful. Hijra is the Islamic doctrine of migration and although they don’t say it, it means spreading Islam via immigration.

In fact, the DR Congolese make up the largest number of refugees being admitted to the US right now, during the Trump administration, even as Congolese elsewhere in Africa are going home.  See here.

In case you are wondering, most Congolese are not Muslims, but a small number being admitted to the US are.

The Uganda camp sounded familiar to me, so I went to my archives to see if I had written about Nakivale and sure enough I had, in 2010, when we were taking thousands of Somalis from that camp.

(It is no wonder the speech police wanted RRW removed from the worldwide web, there is a heckuva lot of information archived here!)

Here is what I reported nearly ten years ago in a post entitled:

Are you sitting down! UN sending 6000 more Somalis to US this year

The Obama administration agreed to take that number from Nakivale camp in Uganda because the Somalis could not get along with the other refugees in the camp.

An article that has now been removed quoted a source who said this:

Explaining the reason of resettling Somalis to the US, Katura said Somali refugees have failed to integrate with other refugee groups living in Nakivale and with the local communities because of their unique language and culture.  [This is insane, they can’t get along with other African people but they are going to jump into the mythical American melting pot and come out as just good old regular Americans!—ed]

Later, in 2017, we learned that some of the Nakivale Somalis went to Minnesota thanks to Catholic Charities, here.

Earlier this year we heard about the allegations of fraud and corruption in the UN system in Africa, here, and this news is a continuation of a supposed effort by the UN to find out exactly how alleged corruption is occurring.

From 100 Reporters:

UN Refugee Agency Reopens Corruption Investigation

Refugee Sources Report Retaliation After Speaking Out

The United Nations is investigating allegations of corruption among employees at a Ugandan refugee camp following a 100Reporters investigation, but victims say they face retaliation for testifying and that the UN is not protecting them.

In a story published in partnership with NBC News and Journalists for Transparency, refugees at the Nakivale settlement in southwest Uganda said employees and contractors working for the UN Refugee Agency, the UNHCR, as well as local police and employees of the Ugandan government’s Office of the Prime Minister and police, were demanding bribes for everything from access to essential services, including medical referrals, to resettlement in Europe or the U.S.

The reporting came as part of a broader investigation this spring, in which dozens of refugees in East Africa accused UNHCR staff and contractors of exploiting refugees and whitewashing corruption charges.

Refugees interviewed said they felt they had nowhere to turn when they witnessed corruption, as they had to rely on the UNHCR, whose mandate is to protect them, for food, medicine and safety.

A UNHCR spokesperson denied the allegations of wrongdoing at the time the stories were published. But staff are now carrying out interviews with refugee witnesses at the Nakivale refugee settlement and elsewhere.

More here.

Continue reading because there is a question about whether the UN is looking for fraud and corruption, or trying to find out how allegations of fraud reached the mainstream media’s ears!

Maddening isn’t it!

First we took thousands of Somalis from this camp and now we are taking thousands more Congolese just because the UN wants us to take them off their hands.

Endnote: Just had a quick look at the data at the Refugee Processing Center and see that we processed a whopping 2,697 refugees into the US from Uganda in the last fiscal year.  See here(Don’t look at the colored map it is messed up, look at the chart and scroll down to Uganda.)

Myth of South Africa as Beacon of Hope for African Migrants Eroded Further Yesterday

I reported here just a few days ago that hundreds of Africans were camped in front of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees office in Pretoria demanding to be resettled in the West after experiencing xenophobic hatred from black South Africans.

Additionally, I reminded US readers that we are taking some of those migrants to America as ‘refugees.’

They went to the mythical Rainbow Nation because they believed the international propaganda that the socialist government there welcomed one and all.

It doesn’t!

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa leads the party of Nelson Mandela and unleashed police on the foreigners who came to S. Africa believing it was a beacon of hope for them.

Media worldwide has been reluctant to tell the truth about post-Apartheid South Africa because they have built up for 25 years the false image of the governing black party, the African National Congress, as a model for the world!

I see this morning that worldwide media is now paying attention after South African police blasted water cannons and began arresting the protesters of many African nationalities outside of UN offices.

Apparently the UN was impotent to stop the violence.

Here is AP (one of many stories about the violence against ‘refugee’ wannabees):

South African police arrest 100 after refugees protest

JOHANNESBURG (AP) — Police in the South African city of Cape Town used water cannons Wednesday while arresting and dispersing hundreds of refugees and asylum-seekers, including children, who had camped for weeks outside the U.N. refugee agency’s office seeking protection after anti-immigrant attacks.

Local human rights and legal groups expressed shock over images of small children clinging to people being dragged away by police. Some people screamed in protest as officers with riot shields and batons moved through the crowd.

Police said they arrested about 100 people who “failed to heed the call to disperse.” Many who weren’t arrested fled to a nearby church.

Some refugees and asylum-seekers had told local media they wanted to be relocated outside the country after a wave of deadly attacks on foreigners in South African cities earlier this year. Such attacks have erupted several times over the years in sub-Saharan Africa’s most developed economy.

They can’t call it racism because both sides are black, so xenophobia best describes the rampant discrimination.

Earlier this year more than 12 people were killed and over 700 arrested after bands of South Africans in Johannesburg and the capital, Pretoria, launched attacks against foreign-owned shops and stalls, looting and burning them and attacking some shopkeepers.

[….]

Ramaphosa’s government has faced criticism for not explicitly speaking out against xenophobia at first but instead framing the violence as crime.

[….]

Ramaphosa, who later called the xenophobia “regrettable,” has acknowledged frustrations about South Africa’s high unemployment — now 29%, the highest in more than a decade — and its sluggish economy, but he has told his countrymen not to take it out on foreigners.

Much more here.

I repeat!  Pay attention! In recent years, including in 2019, we have admitted as refugees to the US some of the Africans who traveled to S. Africa from elsewhere in Africa!

We should consider giving refugee status to white South Africans.

However, most of those demonstrating at the UN office are not legitimate refugees, but are economic migrants—they are South Africa’s problem, not ours!

Republican Senator Marco Rubio “honored” to Receive Award from Church World Service

Church World Service , as I reminded everyone just last week, is one of nine federally-funded refugee contractors.  Its most recent political agitation stunt was to join with the Council on American Islamic Relations on the steps of the Capitol and see its CEO arrested.

Now we hear they have given awards to their great defenders in the House and Senate—Marco Rubio among them!

Just so you know, CWS has received nearly half a billion of your tax dollars over the last ten years, see here.

And, in addition to placing refugees throughout small-city America they oppose the President by promoting open borders, and supporting the continued entry of illegal aliens into the US!  Does “little Marco” know that?

From Florida Daily:

Marco Rubio, Mario Diaz-Balart Honored by Church World Service for International Aid Efforts

On Wednesday night, two members of the Florida delegation were honored for their work on international humanitarian issues.

Church World Service honored U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Fla., and eight other members of Congress for “their leadership on humanitarian and poverty-focused international aid and protecting the U.S. refugee resettlement program.”

Diaz-Balart was one of 16 members of the House to tell the President they wanted more than 18,000 refugee admitted this year.

Other honorees included U.S. Sens. Chris Coons, D-Del., Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and James Lankford, R-Okla., and U.S. Reps. Jim Clyburn, D-SC, Kay Granger, R-Tex., Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., Nita Lowey, D-NY, and Chris Smith, R-NJ. Church World Service President and CEO Reverend John McCullough and Board of Directors Chairwoman Reverend Patricia de Jong presented the awards.

[….]

“I am honored to receive this award from Church World Service. I will continue to work to support and uplift communities across the globe, ensuring that all people have the opportunity to fulfill their God-given potential,” said Rubio who sits on the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

More here.

LOL! We should be glad that government contractors give awards like this because it helps us identify who exactly is working against the principle of America First!

For new readers, thank Church World Service for this blog since they were the federal contractor which was quietly placing refugees into my county in 2007.  So frustrated by the local paper which refused to give the citizens in our rural Maryland county any information about CWS or its subcontractor, the Virginia Council of Churches, I decided to investigate myself and publish what I learned.

CWS is a hard Left (taxpayer-funded) political organization (masquerading as a ‘religious charity’) that is changing America by changing the people.

Does Church World Service represent your church, go here and find out! If your church is doing a “crop walk” then you are sending money to CWS.

By the way, surely Senator Rubio sees this award as a political freebie!  If you live in Florida take a minute and tell him that you don’t agree with him on refugee resettlement (by taking this award he signals where he stands!).
