Head hunters prep refugees for job interviews in Nashville’s upscale Brentwood

Job recruiting firms helped Catholic Charities in Nashville recently to train refugees in how to find jobs, however, you have to wonder if Catholic Charities is putting the same effort into helping Americans find work.

Catholic Charities is the federal government’s refugee contractor for Tennessee.   For new readers that means that the “religious” organization is paid by the taxpayer for its work in resettling refugees to Nashville.

As a result of Catholic Charities diligence, Nashville’s refugee population is growing exponentially and the city has become known as the Kurdish capital of the US. With that distinction has come increased crime from Kurdish criminal gangs.  Nashville also recently made the news by being the primary location for the shocking documentary, Losing our Sons, about the growth of Islamist recruitment in America.  And, by the way, how is that big Somali sex trafficking case in Nashville doing?

But, never mind all that — we gotta get those refugees jobs!

Look at the bright side (even if Americans don’t have jobs)—-if Catholic Charities gets refugees jobs some may have less time for gang violence, Jihad or sex!

BRENTWOOD — The Search Firm in Brentwood was among several Nashville-area business leaders that conducted mock job interviews earlier this month with clients from Catholic Charities of Tennessee’s Refugee Services program.

Most of the mock interviewers are members of the Catholic Business League, an organization providing networking and community service opportunities for its members.

The initial mock interviews were conducted at the Refugee Services offices on the Holy Name Church campus in East Nashville. Refugee Services anticipates continuing to periodically conduct mock interviews for its refugee clients.

Losing our sons, and losing Nashville

Not just Nashville, but every American city where the seeds of Jihad have been planted.

Our friend Susan Falknor has reviewed the powerful documentary film—Losing our Sons—recently featured on Gov. Mike Huckabee’s popular TV news and commentary program.

Two families from the American heartland lost their sons when four 7.62 mm rounds rang out at an Army-Navy Career Center in a Little Rock shopping mall June 1, 2009. This is their story, narrated largely by the fathers of these soldiers through on-screen interviews.(Click here for trailer.)

One father is Melvin Bledsoe, a black citizen of Memphis, owner of a small business, the Blues City Tourist Company bus tours. His son, Carlos, who by 2009 was going by the name of Abdulhakim Muhammad, was arrested immediately for the Little Rock shooting. He testified to his Jihadist motives in a letter to the judge, and received a life sentence without possibility of parole.

What happened to Nashville is happening in many cities across the United States thanks largely to the US State Department and the “church” groups being paid to bring refugees to your towns.

When Carlos Bledsoe arrived in the country music capital of America in 2003 to go to college, “the city was already changing,” according to the film. Nashville was one of the American towns chosen under the 1980 Federal Refugee Act – which launched a program now grown to a billion-dollar budget with buy-ins from numerous nonprofit resettlement agencies — to receive flows of immigrants from war-torn areas such as Somalia, and the Kurdish region of Iraq.

Unlike most immigrants, refugees are entitled to welfare. They are supposed to receive employment assistance and other benefits from often-faith-labeled-but-government-funded nonprofits. As Don Barnett’s  exhaustive analysis (CIS) says of the flawed refugee resettlement program:

“…The assimilation model has been completely abandoned in favor of an enforced multiculturalism. This missed opportunity may be the biggest tragedy of the irresponsibility of the contractors such as Catholic Charities . . . and its parent, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, the leading resettlement contractor.”

Witness who refused to testify in Nashville Somali sex trafficking case faces jail time

One of the Somalis the government hoped would testify in the Somali sex trafficking case* said he feared for his life if he snitched on his fellow countrymen.

From AP:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Somali man who refused to testify against gang members in a sex trafficking trial in Nashville told a judge that he was assaulted and warned that gang members would get him if he snitched.

Abdullahi Farah was charged with criminal contempt for refusing to testify during a federal trial against nine defendants accused in a sex trafficking ring. Three people were convicted and six were acquitted by a jury in May.

Farah said on the stand Thursday that men wearing masks assaulted him twice and he was told that threats were made against him for cooperating with federal prosecutors in the case, which includes more than 30 defendants and spanned from Minnesota to Ohio and Tennessee.

The indictment alleged that Somali gangs in Minneapolis and Nashville were using young girls and women for prostitution.

U.S. District Court Chief Judge Todd Campbell found him guilty of criminal contempt and ordered sentencing to be set for July 3.

“I knew what the gangs are capable of,” he testified on Thursday. “I’ve seen it.”

Police try new tactic to defeat Kurdish gangs in Nashville neighborhoods

It looks like this will be Muslim refugee crime day at RRW.   First, we had new information about the Burmese Muslim murder suspect in Salt Lake City and I have yet to get to the North Dakota Somali murderer and here comes news from the Kurdish capital of the United States—Nashville—about efforts by police to get the Kurdish criminal gangs under control.

Here is Holly Johnson of Catholic Charities in Nashville in that 2010 “Little Kurdistan” article that we see has now been removed (it’s a good thing I was able to post some of it!):

Kurds have struggled to build a new haven in Nashville, and director of refugee and immigration services at Catholic Charities of Tennessee Holly Johnson says “they have changed Nashville.”

She got that right!

Below is this morning’s story from the Tennessean (thanks to one of our many friends in TN):

Metro police on Tuesday filed a civil lawsuit to wrest control of an area in South Nashville from the clutches of the Kurdish Pride gang by banning members from congregating in a 1.47-mile “safety zone.”

The department is targeting 24 of what they call the “worst of the worst” members of the gang, hoping a judge will ban them from publicly gathering in a zone that encompasses part of an area known as Little Kurdistan and includes Paragon Mills and Providence Park. The injunction lawsuit is the fruit of a three-year effort to combat gangs for detectives to build their case and attorneys to try and bullet-proof it from legal challenges. The injunction is the first of its kind ever filed in Tennessee, but a tactic used successfully for years in other states like California.

“Our police department will not sit idly by when a street gang threatens the peace of our community,” said Metro Police Chief Steve Anderson at a news conference held in Paragon Mills, the site detectives say hosted Kurdish Pride gang meetings. “We want to give this park back to the citizens.”

Police say Kurdish Pride members were involved in at least one murder, multiple beatings and shootings, drug dealing, illegal weapons and vandalism. Incidents include the 2006 attempted murder of a Metro Parks Police officer and multiple graffiti messages threatening a Metro Police Gang Unit detective.

The police will surely be stymied by civil rights activists who will charge that they are violating the gangs’ first amendment right to assemble.  LOL!  Look out for Maryland’s gift to the Obama Justice Department—Thomas Perez—to ride in and protect the immigrant gangs’ civil rights.   Here is just one of dozens of posts on Perez (former board member of CASA de Maryland) and now civil rights division head honcho under Eric Holder.

Great Britain: Political alliance seeks to halt Islamization of the UK and mass immigration

“This is a significant turning point for the resistance to Islamization in the UK.”

One of the most important events in recent British history — and maybe European history — occurred last weekend while I was (alas!) away. On Saturday May 5 two leaders of the English Defence League, Tommy Robinson and Kevin Carroll, joined the Executive Committee of the British Freedom Party.

So it’s official — the EDL and BF will remain separate organizations, but they are now working together.

Their mission to help the forgotten working class Brit includes:

The move establishes British Freedom as a new force in British politics – the only party with the strength and determination to call for Britain’s withdrawal from the unelected and totalitarian European Union, to confront militant Islam, halt mass immigration and defend democracy’s most vital ingredient – Free Speech.

British Freedom will also end the deliberately divisive policy of multiculturalism and reverse decades of destructive Political Correctness which exists only to promote division and Socialism – despite the appalling record of Socialist inspired mass murder, war, and the terrible economic, social and environmental carnage witnessed over the last century.

I reported back in February that Paul Weston, head of the British Freedom Party, had been in Nashville to “warn America” here.
