Globalist Anne Richard ready to work as Asst. Secretary of State for refugees

Here is the press release sent out by the US State Department yesterday announcing that Ms. Richard is now on the job—an example of the Washington revolving door in action!  Richard worked in the State Department under Secretary Albright, left to join a government contractor as a lobbyist, and now is back at the State Department as head of the program that gives your tax dollars to her former employer.

Here is her bio at The Globalist (which says of itself that it covers the biggest story of our lifetime—globalization).  They don’t even hide it any more.

See my earlier post on Ms. Richard’s involvement with the likes of George Soros (among others).

Ms. Richard now joins a long line of Asst. Secretaries presiding over the Somalification of America.

Uncle Omar gets to drive anyway (as well as stay in the US)

Uncle Omar of course is President Barack Obama’s illegal alien uncle (and brother to Aunt Zeituni) “discovered” living in Massachusetts for decades.  We told you about his bust for drunk driving last August and here is more on whether he was ever lost at all!

Just a week or so ago we heard he lost his Massachusetts drivers license (not really!), but not a word about whether he will be granted asylum (Aunt Zeituni had good lawyers and did get asylum, here).

From the Boston Herald today:

Just a week after he copped a plea in a drunken-driving rap, President Obama’s illegal-alien uncle has landed a hardship driver’s license from the Registry of Motor Vehicles, making it perfectly legal for him to drive in Massachusetts — even though the feds say he doesn’t belong here.

Onyango Obama, 67, who lost his regular license for 45 days last week, scored his limited license yesterday from the Registry’s Wilmington branch, after convincing a hearing officer that life without wheels would have posed an undue hardship on his livelihood as a liquor-store manager. Obama bolstered his case with a letter from his employer, Conti Liquors, as well as proof that he’d enrolled in an alcohol-treatment program.

[…..]

Of the state’s decision to award Obama a license even though the federal government considers him an illegal alien, Lavoie would only say, “Registry business is based on Registry records.”

[…..]

The license award drew fire from one advocate of tough enforcement on illegals, Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson.

“Our democracy is predicated on law,” Hodgson said. “When we start to interpret these laws differently and manipulate them the way we want them to work for certain people, we start to send a mixed message to people that the law doesn’t really matter. Its subject to interpretation. You don’t have to follow the law. They find ways to justify it. We need the laws to be very clear. We need ‘no’ to mean ‘no’ again.”

Hodgson, along with sheriffs in Plymouth and Worcester counties, stood up for Secure Communities, a program that feeds local police fingerprint checks into federal databases to check the citizenship status of accused criminals. Gov. Deval Patrick has refused to enroll the state in the program.

What no public transportation in Boston?

We sure don’t want any illegal aliens experiencing an “undue hardship” now do we?

Watch for it—Onyango’s lawyers will probably  base an asylum claim on the very real possibility that if he is sent back to Kenya now he will be a marked man by the many enemies his nephew has created.

Obama says yes to MORE “temporary” refugees—Syrians

Thanks to a reader for sending this, I had missed it yesterday. The Obama Administration has agreed to let Syrians who are in the US now for any reason—students, tourists, illegal aliens, etc—stay basically forever.  They call it “Temporary” Protected Status and we told you that Non-profits (which will surely get something financial out of it) and far Left Senators were lobbying for the designation.  Like the Salvadorans, the Liberians, and Somalis before them, they will never be required to leave the country.

Here is a short AP story on the decision:

WASHINGTON (AP) – The Obama administration will allow Syrians in the United States to temporarily stay beyond the expiration of their visas and not deport those in the country illegally due to deteriorating conditions in their native country.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced Friday that Syrians in the U.S. would be given temporary protected status because they would face “serious threats to their personal safety” if they were to return to Syria. She said details of the program, including eligibility requirements will be published early next week in the Federal Register.

Syrians in the U.S. have to apply for the status and must undergo a full background check before it is granted. Napolitano encouraged Syrians to apply but said they should not do until the notice is published.

Suicide.   I wonder sometimes if there were Romans who saw the end coming.

ANC: Too many foreigners in South Africa, new policy on refugees proposed

Previously:  too many foreigners in France, here.

Did you know that just earlier this year the African National Congress (ANC), the party of Nelson Mandela and the now ruling party of the “rainbow nation,” turned 100.   And, it was just last week that President Obama likened himself to Mandela saying it takes time for change, for peaceful change.  I wonder does Obama have any idea what the myth of the “rainbow nation” has come to in S. Africa?

Before I tell you the latest on the proposed crackdown on “refugees,” below are some of the promises the ANC makes to its citizens (no wonder “refugees” are pouring into the country).  Sounds a bit like a bunch of commies wrote this:

* The people shall govern
* All national groups shall have equal rights
* The people shall share in the country`s wealth
* The land shall be shared among those who work it
* All shall be equal before the law
* All shall enjoy equal human rights
* There shall be work and security
* The doors of learning and culture shall be opened
* There shall be houses, security and comfort
* There shall be peace and friendship

Who wouldn’t run to a country with promises like that!  Now to reality….

We reported recently that white South Africans are seeking asylum around the world, here.

And here is the latest news on South Africa trying to get its borders under control and deal with the  masses flowing into the country.   I love these delicious irony stories!  You didn’t hear this from any US media did you?

When “rainbow nation” mumbo jumbo hits reality

From the Mail & Guardian of S.Africa:

South Africa should take “robust steps” to refuse to grant refugee status to asylum seekers who have transited through one or more “safe” countries, according to the ANC policy discussion document released this week.

“Building appropriate relationships with other such countries, which are also signatories to the conventions on refugees and in particular our neighbours, is key to resolving this problem,” the document states in the chapter on home affairs. “The UN conventions on asylum seekers provide for the ‘first country’ rule, which states that an asylum seeker should seek refuge in the first safe country that he or she reaches.”

[This is international law—legitimate asylum seekers must ask for asylum in the first safe country—not hop around the world looking for the best deals.  As a matter of fact, most asylum seekers on our southern border have traversed through recognized safe countries in Central America and Mexico, yet we don’t turn them back.—ed]

Can you believe it?  Traffickers are moving people into the “rainbow nation:’

A combination of large numbers of asylum seekers, gaps in the law, weak systems and corruption has led to widespread abuse of an overloaded system by criminal syndicates that smuggle and traffic people, the document points out.

Just like Israel and other countries which don’t want to be destroyed, the ANC wants detention centers on its borders:

It suggests that asylum seekers who present a high risk must be accommodated in a secure facility until their status has been determined and that low-risk asylum seekers will be processed while they are assisted by various organisations.

[….]

The document claims that “refugee reception centres” will be relocated along the borders of South Africa, but suggests that a discussion is needed to ensure the home affairs department gets the support it needs to run and house these centres.

One thing that really bugs them (and it bugs me too) is this business of “refugees” who escaped “persecution” in their home country and then just bop back for a visit from time to time.  In the US we have large numbers of Somalis who regularly fly back to the supposed Islamic terrorist-filled country of Somalia to visit.  What is up with that?  Here the ANC suggests that if they leave and go “home” for a visit that they then be barred from re-entry to S. Africa (great idea!):

Among its concerns is that some refugees, including those still seeking asylum, tend to travel to their home countries for visits and return to South Africa. It is proposed that such people should be refused re-entry because they are flouting UN conventions and there is no evidence to show they have anything to fear in their home countries.

And, here is the kicker—give or take a few percentage points around the world—this is the truth!

“As a security department, home affairs will contribute to achieving two overriding goals: national security and public safety,” the document states. “The main challenge currently is that over 95% of those claiming asylum in South Africa are not genuine asylum seekers, but rather are looking for work or business opportunities.”

Read it all here.

One more article about how refugee program slowed by stepped-up security checks

I’ve lost track of how many times we have heard the story about how refugee resettlement has slowed due to the discovery that some terrorists might get into the US through the program.  This incarnation is from the Denver Post a couple of days ago and I feel obligated to post it, if for no other reason then to keep our archives complete on the recent arrest in Colorado of Uzbek refugee—Jamshid Muhtorov.

The Denver Post:

The U.S. government, concerned that the refugee resettlement process might be exploited by terrorists, has tightened background checks for refugees coming into the country.

Twice in the past three years, Colorado refugees have been arrested on terrorism charges. They are among a few scattered across the country who have raised concerns about the process.

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has taken an interest in the issue after it was learned two Iraqi refugees, living in his state of Kentucky, were arrested on terrorism charges, that story here.

The Denver Post continued:

The incidents raise questions about how Americans should balance helping refugees fleeing oppression versus protecting the homeland from security threats.

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.,called for congressional hearings to look into the resettlement process after the February 2011 arrests of two Iraqi refugees in Kentucky accused of conspiring to send weapons to al-Qaeda. [As far as I know the arrests happened in late May, so am not sure what this February date is.  LOL! maybe they were arrested in February and the public was not informed for months?—ed].

In July, he testified before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and questioned the numbers of refugees and other immigrants being allowed into the U.S.

“I don’t fault you for missing the needle in the haystack,” Paul said to the committee. “But you have to make the haystack smaller.”

Some don’t arrive radicalized, they get that way in America, says a United Nations mouthpiece:

No security check can prevent someone from becoming a terrorist after they enter the U.S. For example, officials say, there was nothing in Muhtorov’s file and screening that would have barred him from resettling in Colorado in 2007.

“You cannot screen the people on the basis of what they would become five years later,” Cochetel said.

Actually he is wrong in this case, there was plenty in Muhtorov’s (an Uzbek “freedom fighter”) file to at least give pause about whether he should have been admitted to the US.  And, it might have been discovered if he hadn’t been airlifted here outside the normal refugee resettlement screening process!

Life in the US turned me into an Islamist!

Will we never learn!  Continuing this myth that Islamic radicalization comes from socio-economic deprivation will be our undoing.

“Most recently, al-Qaeda and its affiliates have attempted to recruit and radicalize people to terrorism here in the United States, as we have seen in several plots and attacks, including the deadly attack two years ago on our service members at Fort Hood,” said President Barack Obama in August. “As a government, we are working to prevent all types of extremism that leads to violence, regardless of who inspires it.”

Greg Holloway, the prosecutor assigned to Muhtorov’s case, told a federal judge that Muhtorov might have become dissatisfied with his life in the U.S. and dedicated his life to global jihad.

Holloway read from letters submitted by Muhtorov’s supporters that said he was an educated man in Uzbekistan who had grown frustrated that the only jobs he was able to get involved manual labor. The truck driver had also worked at a meat-packing plant in Greeley and as a casino janitor in Black Hawk.

The income wasn’t enough for him to support his wife and two children on his own.

So, we are to believe he turned into an extremist Muslim so he could better support his family?

And, golly, not even his meat-packing job could make him happy!  He must not have been working for Tyson Foods (the premiere employer of happy Muslim meat-packing workers).
