Obama supposedly sending another $400 million to Palestinians

So, what else is new?   Drudge is reporting a simple one liner from Breitbart that says:

President Barack Obama said Wednesday the United States was to unveil a 400-million-dollar civilian aid package for the Palestinians, as he called the situation in the Gaza Strip “unsustainable.”

I can’t find anything more on the story, but I am guessing this would be the so-called ERMA money that he has at his discretion to use for emergencies.  ERMA stands for Emergency Refugee and Migration Assistance (the same fund that caused all the confusion beginning January 2009, here, when Obama sent $20 million) and the pot is a cool $200 million or so that he can use kind of like mad-money when the occasion arises.   So where $400 million comes from, I guess we will wait and see.

By the way, this is nothing new.  Here is a story in 2009 that says we pledged $900 million to the Palestinians.

When we get a press release from the State Department I’ll post it.

By the way, I wonder if anyone has ever figured out the per capita aid going to the Palestinians.

Bilderbergers pow-wow in Spain

Update June 8th: You know how I mentioned in this post that Muslim countries and China weren’t there. Well they are working on their New World Order too—Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia—and look who is at the on-going conference—Ahmahdinejad.

It wasn’t that long ago that if you said the word—Bilderberger—you were some crazy conspiracy nut case, but I see this year’s Bilderberger meeting, closing today in Spain, is all over the news.

Researchers believe that the gist of what these movers and shakers and big money people are doing is protecting their wealth and picking their own for leadership positions around the world—in addition to controlling world financial markets and aiming for a one-world form of government.  (That is how it ties in to immigrants and refugees, they need to erase national borders, control cheap labor and diminish state sovereignty.)

This year’s meeting is so out in the open, here is the list of participants.

Now check out this somewhat amusing description at the UK Guardian of what has gone on outside the posh Spanish resort where the participants were whisked in through tunnels and in limos with darkened windows.  The press (some of the press) has finally caught on:

Bilderberg is an absurdity. The secrecy is absurd. The lack of a relationship between the event and the mainstream media is absurd. Ivan standing alone by his roundabout bed is absurd. The paranoia of the participants is more than absurd – it’s pathetic.

This year, most of the delegates were whisked into the hotel through an underground entrance, dodging the lenses, like a bunch of James Bond baddies, like a dieter creeping downstairs at midnight to eat chocolate cake from the fridge.

[….]

But the good news is that not everyone has dodged the cameras (John Elkann, the heir to Fiat, was spotted by the German blog Schall und Rauch looking particularly dapper this year). And the even better news – the very best news – is that the press seems, finally, to have woken up to Bilderberg.

We have had camera crews from Spanish TV and Spanish newspapers both local and national (Javier from El Mundo is currently up a tree with a camera). French journalists, Portuguese documentary makers and al-Jazeera are picking up the story. Russia Today has sent a film crew.

We’ve had articles in the Independent and the Times, and on the Today programme on Radio 4. Daniel Estulin has been doing interview after interview. He’s getting quotes from inside the meeting. The veil of secrecy is looking decidedly tatty. It might be time to bin it.

Read the whole article, there is lots more.

One other thing that is not so amusing is the mention of al-Jazeera.  Those reporters will probably notice that there are virtually no Muslim business honchos there (except maybe one from Turkey), no Saudi movers and shakers.  No Chinese either!  I have a sneaking feeling that countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran and Jordan have no plans to join a bunch of corporatist* (elitist) one-worlders who are bent on wiping out borders in order to save their bags of money while pretending to care about humanity.

* Judy described ‘corporatists’ here a year ago this week.  These are generally big businesses (note Google and Microsoft bigwigs are Bilderbergers) who understand that they need to control government as a way of protecting their financial empires, so it makes sense that since the economy is now a global one, they need to help set up a global government to continue their favored position.   I don’t know exactly when corportists first began having power but I recently read Amity Shlaes The Forgotten Man and we know that in Roosevelt’s New Deal certain insider businesses were able to cut out the competition through their close association with government.

For more, just google ‘Bilderberg.’  Here is one of many articles that tells more about this year’s meeting of the cabal.

By the way, I’m betting the Bilderbergers don’t like the Tea Party movement!

Obama’s pandering to Muslim countries not working

Update June 5th: More on Muslims disillusioned with Obama, here.

This is getting a little bit far afield from the purpose of RRW,  but this post at Jihad Watch (one of my favorite blogs) about Pres. Obama’s popularity dropping in Muslim countries is very interesting.  Remember that in 2008 we still had the Bush Administration!    Iraqis dislike us more now than they did under Bush.  Check out the numbers!  I wonder what we gave Mauritania?

While you are at Jihad Watch, see Pamela Geller (Atlas Shrugs) take on CAIR on the subject of the Ground Zero mosque.  The CAIR head honcho says that 9/11 had nothing to do with Islam.  Whew!

Michael Posner puts foot in mouth by apologizing to China

You’ve probably heard about it, it’s been all over the news.  The State Department’s Michael Posner APOLOGIZED to China for our human rights abuses.  What were our abuses?  Arizona passed SB1070!  Think about it APOLOGIZING TO CHINA.  Here is Sarah Palin blasting the Obama apology tour at Gateway Pundit (one of my favorite blogs by the way and Sarah Palin is one of my favorite people!).

Posner, before going through the revolving door  to the State Department, was the well-paid head of Human Rights First.  I told you about  him here when he was pushing for more Iraqi refugees to be admitted to the US and promoting Samantha Power as the Iraqi refugee czar in the White House.    Surely as head of Human Rights First for decades he knew about this:

North Korea pays China a bounty of around $300 for each North Korean caught and returned to North Korea. Returned escapees will typically be prosecuted, then imprisoned, or, if it is their third attempt, summarily executed, for the crime of betraying the fatherland by leaving.

And, he must have known about this:

They have to be careful and alert – North Korean refugees looking for a better life in South Korea run the risk of being rounded up by Chinese troops. But there are groups and organizations who try to help. They call themselves the Catacombs, a reference to early Christians who fled underground to avoid Roman persecution. This group of Korean and foreign Christian human rights activists, along with the refugees they are helping, are trying to avoid being detected by China.

These groups help refugees by giving them shelter and food during their escape. They also assist them in moving on to South Korea. To them it is clear that China puts the lives of North Koreans fleeing across the border at risk.

Now, go here to the Office of Immigration Statistics Annual Flow Report, and take note that we granted asylum to 10,000-11,000 Chinese nationals who sought asylum each year for the last 3 years.  Indeed the Chinese top the list of those seeking asylum here.  How many Americans sought asylum in China during those same three years?  I bet the number is zero!  Case closed.

Obama’s Auntie Zeituni granted asylum

Ten years after arriving in the US and six years after receiving a deportation order, President Obama’s aunt, Zeituni Onyango, has been granted asylum.  We first told you about Obama’s aunt living illegally in the US, here, just before Obama’s election to the Presidency in 2008.

From the Boston Herald:

A jubilant Zeituni Onyango celebrated in South Boston today after learning a U.S. immigration court granted her asylum – a decision her neighbors speculated was probably helped by her nephew, President Obama.

“It’s obvious her nephew helped,” said neighbor Marion Swain. “She’s a very nice person – very well spoken. That’s life.”

Onyango faced being deported to Kenya by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, but a judge ruled she can now apply for a work visa and green card.

“I don’t want to be disturbed,” said Onyango through the door of her public housing unit on L Street.

[…..]

The ruling to allow Onyango to stay in the Hub was mailed Friday and comes three months after the half-sister of Obama’s late father testified at a closed hearing in Boston, where she arrived in a wheelchair. Two doctors testified in support of her case then.

The basis for her asylum request was never made public. People who seek asylum must show that they face persecution in their homeland on the basis of religion, race, nationality, political opinion or membership in a social group.

“The asylum process is confidential and she wants to keep it that way, so we can’t get into details on why the judge granted asylum or the exact basis for her claim,” said her attorney Scott Bratton. He added: “She doesn’t want people to feel sorry for her.”

[…..]

Medical issues also could have played a role. Onyango’s lawyers told the Herald she was disabled and was learning to walk again after being paralyzed from Guillain-Barre syndrome, an autoimmune disorder.

Onyango moved to the United States in 2000. Her first asylum request was rejected, and she was ordered deported in 2004. But she didn’t leave the country and continued to live in Boston.

Although regrettable, I don’t believe one’s medical circumstances are grounds for a positive asylum determination.  Does this mean that we are now going to grant asylum to Kenyans when Kenya is a relatively stable country?
