14 US Senators tell Obama: Bring MORE Syrians to America (65,000 is a good number!)

Breaking News:  According to Durban’s press release, all nine federal resettlement contractors are urging Obama to bring in 65,000 Syrians before his term ends!
Led by Senators Dick Durban (D-IL) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) (we don’t have enough Muslims in Minnesota yet!), fourteen US Senators are urging Obama to open the flood gates to the Syrian (mostly Muslim refugees) the UN has picked for us and that the refugee contractors are now lobbying for us to take.

Here is Senator Durban’s press release and a portion of the letter:

NH Senator Jeanne Shaheen: Let’s bring in 65,000 Syrian refugees! It is our moral duty! Shaheen is one of 14 Senators who have asked Obama to open the flood gates!

 WASHINGTON—U.S. Senators Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) today led a group of fourteen senators in calling on President Barack Obama to significantly increase the number of Syrian refugees allowed to resettle in the United States. The Syrian conflict has led to the world’s worst ongoing humanitarian crisis and the worst refugee crisis since World War II.

“Our nation’s founders came to our shores to escape religious persecution and the United States has a long tradition of providing safe haven to refugees,” the senators wrote. “The United States traditionally accepts at least 50 percent of resettlement cases from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). However, we have accepted only approximately 700 refugees since the beginning of the Syrian conflict, an unacceptably low number. While the United States is the largest donor of humanitarian assistance to Syrian refugees, we must also dramatically increase the number of Syrian refugees that we accept for resettlement.” [The number is actually 843/92% Muslim.—ed]

Not a single word about the fact that these members of the Refugee Council USA have a financial interest in bringing in this huge number of Syrians that the FBI has already said cannot be properly screened!   “Nonpartisan” my foot!  These members of the Refugee Council USA are all members in good standing of the hard LEFT.

Indeed, we cannot expect countries hosting Syrian refugees to continue shouldering such a disproportionate burden if the United States and other industrialized countries do not begin resettling many more Syrian refugees. UNHCR is seeking to resettle 130,000 Syrian refugees over the next two years and has thus far submitted more than 12,000 resettlement cases to the United States for consideration. Refugee Council USA, a nonpartisan coalition of the leading U.S. refugee organizations (including Church World Service, HIAS, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, Episcopal Migration Ministries, USCCB, National Association of Evangelicals’ World Relief), recently called for the United States to resettle at least 65,000 of these Syrian refugees by the end of 2016.  [This is news! Initially only the International Rescue Committee called for 65,000, now we see it is all of the so-called ‘religious federal government contractors.—ed]

In short, it is a moral, legal, and national security imperative for the United States to lead by example in addressing the world’s worst refugee crisis of our time by greatly increasing the number of Syrian refugees who are resettled in our country.

One must assume that by mentioning the 65,000 desired by the refugee resettlement contractors (via RCUSA), all 14 are on board with the number!
How about if we divide 65,000 by the 14 above and put 4,642 Syrians in each of their home towns!

Michigan: Lutherans bring in the bucks to care for ‘unaccompanied alien children’ sent there (or soon to be sent there?)

Michigan Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence cheers the news that more money is coming to her district for illegal aliens magically transformed into refugees.

What she won’t understand until it is too late, is that the arrival of thousands of refugees in Michigan will squeeze Americans, especially the African Americans, at the bottom rung of the pay scale.   Michigan is in the top five states receiving refugees and yet they are adding alien children into the mix.

But, what the heck, even as states increase poverty, these ‘church’ groups have to make a living!

From the Detroit Free Press:

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has awarded a Michigan social services group $2.2 million to house unaccompanied immigrant children, U.S. Rep. Brenda Lawrence announced today.

US Rep Brenda Lawrence is happy that the Lutherans are flooding Michigan with refugees and alien children.

It was not immediately known how many children would receive or had received residential services under the grant to Lutheran Social Services of Michigan or whether any other groups were receiving grants in the state as well.

No surprise!  No one will return calls!

Calls and emails to Lutheran Social Services of Michigan and the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, from the Free Press seeking more information were not immediately returned.

According to data on the ORR’s website, only 235 unaccompanied immigrant children had been placed in Michigan in the last two years, far less than the number placed in neighboring states including Ohio. [I wonder if the new grant is in anticipation of Michigan getting more of the UACs—ed]

Some 63,000 undocumented children have been placed throughout the U.S. in the last two years, the ORR’s website said.

In announcing the grant, Lawrence, D-Southfield, said the grant assists unaccompanied minors who “seek relief from the violence and poverty that threatens their very existence in their home countries.”

They can hardly be described as being faith-based while living off of taxpayer boodle!  Doesn’t sound like Christian charity to me!

“Lutheran Social Services truly lives up to their faith-based mission statement to serve the people most in need of help and I am proud to see them receive this substantial federal grant,” she said, adding that she believes it also time for Congress to address comprehensive immigration reform.

Lutheran Social Services of Michigan is the largest refugee resettlement agency in the state, Lawrence said, providing thousands of families from dozens of countries.

So, it is the Lutherans resettling most of the Muslim refugees to Michigan?

The US Conference of Catholic Bishops and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service were the two ‘big dogs’ doing the “resettlement” of the children (Obama’s new refugees) until two other federal contractors eclipsed them.  Grant recipients Baptist Child and Family Services and Southwest Key Programs  are now on the scene devouring federal cash as well.

Is Baltimore a failed social experiment in the government’s (and big business’s) push for more diversity in your towns and cities?

Can we call it a first spectacular failure for Obama’s Task Force on New Americans plan to seed communities with third-worlders?

Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service is one of the Top Nine refugee resettlement contractors in the country and it is headquartered in one of Baltimore’s better neighborhoods. This is what we said in 2014: Gotta keep up their real estate holdings! The Lutheran Center (LIRS headquarters) is a six-story structure constructed in 1999 on property owned by Baltimore’s historic Christ Lutheran Church. Baltimore, a majority African American (63%) city where we hear jobs are scarce and poverty is profound, with by several accounts amounting to 25% of the population living below the poverty level, the US State Department and its refugee resettlement contractors have nevertheless been pouring more diversity and consequently more poverty into the city for at least a decade.

In fact, Baltimore is a preferred refugee resettlement site according to the Office of Refugee Resettlement!

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake fell for the feds ‘progressive’ scheme here in 2012 when she said that bringing more refugees and immigrants to the city would boost the economy completely failing to understand that, just because African Americans are black, they wouldn’t simply ‘welcome’ the rainbow colors of the world to compete with them for jobs, housing and scarce social services.

The hard truth was revealed in the New York Times of all places.  African Americans don’t take kindly to diversity!

Here is one shocking little fact that was buried in a New York Times story about the recent riots:

Black gang leaders directed angry rioters to Asian and Arab shops while protecting stores owned and run by fellow African Americans.

Then he described how he and some Bloods had stood in front of black-owned stores to protect them from looting or vandalism. He said they had made sure no black children, or reporters, were hit by rioters. They pointed them toward Chinese- and Arab-owned stores. Charles said Mr. Gray had brought gangs together.

So much for the diversity-is-beautiful myth!

How much diversity has been brought to Baltimore to compete with poor African Americans?

This morning I went to the data base and checked out the numbers of refugees deposited in Baltimore since 2005.  I’m listing only countries of origin if there were more than 10 refugees resettled there. There were many other countries represented by smaller numbers.

Baltimore’s new diversity (these are newly resettled from abroad since 2005, not secondary migrants from elsewhere in the US):

Reporter Leo Hohmann at World Net Daily has another in depth analysis of several refugee resettlement hotspots in America.

Our Idaho post earlier in the week went through the roof for some reason and below Hohmann has more details about “welcoming” Idaho.

Here is how Hohmann begins:

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley: Refugees welcome in South Carolina. Perhaps she doesn’t want to make Senator Lindsey (amnesty) Graham angry.

The multicultural transformation of Idaho will continue with a planned infusion of hundreds of refugees from Muslim countries over the next one to three years.

A local newspaper in Twin Falls reported that city will receive 300 mostly Syrian refugees over the next fiscal year starting Oct. 1.

But WND has learned the numbers will be much larger statewide and include refugees from Syria, Iraq, the Democratic Republic of Congo and possibly Somalia.

Sources tell WND that community leaders learned of the plans for up to 2,000 refugees at a recent conference at Boise State University attended by church groups, social services providers and other “stakeholders.”

“That’s the number they put out that they’re planning for, a total of about 2,000 over the next one to three years, with 70 percent going to Boise and 30 percent in the Twin Falls area,” said Shahram Hadian, a former Muslim turned Christian pastor in eastern Washington who said he spoke with a conference attendee.

WND reported two weeks ago that Spartanburg, South Carolina, has also been selected for the seeding of a Syrian refugee community.

Unlike Boise, residents in Spartanburg have mustered an organized opposition to the infusion of 65 Syrian refugees over the next year, saying the town already has high crime and poverty and isn’t prepared to absorb hundreds of poor Syrians.

Governor Nikki Haley has come out in support of bringing refugees to South Carolina to compete with local low-skilled workers!

Jeffrey [Christina Jeffrey] said Gov. Nikki Haley has come out in favor of the resettlement plans, which hasn’t helped Gowdy’s effort to see it scaled back. A promised resolution by the area’s legislative delegation opposing the resettlement plans also fizzled after Haley issued a letter of support.

But here is the part of Hohmann’s narrative that I found the most interesting in light of recent discussions I had in Minnesota with knowledgeable grassroots researchers.

The juggernaut facing the average middle class American!

Progressive mayors, major corporations, and the Chambers of Commerce are teaming up to “welcome” migrants to your cities and towns (transforming your communities to satisfy a voracious appetite for cheap labor?) and all for the almighty dollar.  We will add wealthy foundations, ‘religious non-profits’ and Republican elites to the list!

Boise’s mayor, along with mayors in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Chicago, Dayton and Cleveland, Ohio, San Antonio, New Orleans, San Fransisco, Nashville, Atlanta, Wichita, Houston, Boston and dozens of other cities, work with an organization called the Partnership for a New American Economy. This group includes a mix of progressive mayors, executives from some of America’s largest corporations and Chambers of Commerce all working to influence Congress to allow more immigrants into the country, both skilled and unskilled, claiming that more immigration leads to more economic prosperity for Americans, a claim that is rejected by think tanks such as the Center for Immigration Studies and the Economic Policy Institute.

Boise, a self-described “Welcoming Community,” has seen waves of Muslims sent its way by the United Nations in recent years from Afghanistan, Somalia, Turkey, Iraq, Uzbekistan, Congo, Bhutan, Myanmar and Bosnia….

The greater Boise area already has several mosques, the largest of which is the Islamic Center of Boise, with plans unveiled recently for a large mega-mosque on the outskirts of town in Kuna, Idaho.

Amarillo, TX teacher, who works with refugees, is Obama’s Teacher of the Year

It makes me laugh (almost) to see how clever Obama and his comrades are in promoting its ‘welcoming’ meme to the media and to make it harder for teachers to speak up about their troubled and overloaded multicultural classrooms.

Amarillo, Texas schools are in a shambles as we have reported here, here and here.

In 2012 and ever since, the mayor of the city, has been begging the resettlement contractors to slow the flow of refugees coming into the city.

To its credit, Catholic Charities did request that the US State Department not send its usual allotment to Amarillo and what did the State Department do—it sent the same large number to another contractor in town!

This is a quote in December 2014 from Nancy Koons, the director of Catholic Charities who recognized the crisis the Amarillo Independent School District (AISD) was having:

It wasn’t long before I heard from numerous concerned residents and staff from the Amarillo Independent School District. It was clear that the increasing rate of resettlement needed to slow down significantly to allow the community to catch up with challenges brought about by dramatic demographic changes.

I invited officials from USCCB in Washington D.C., and the state refugee coordinator from Austin to meet with representatives from AISD to hear their challenges.

At this meeting, AISD representatives graciously articulated extraordinary challenges in the schools. They begged USCCB and the state refugee coordinator to slow down the rate of resettlement to give AISD and the community the opportunity to “catch up,” and enable them to better serve all of the student population.

So what happened?  As I just said, Catholic Charities did cut its numbers, but the US State Department simply sent Catholic Charities usual allotment to another contractor in town!

By the way, Amarillo is one more meatpacking town…see what I mean about BIG MEAT changing America!  And, it is a city that has been developing as a ‘pocket of resistance.’

Obama and comrades, with this pick for teacher of the year (I am sure she is a wonderful teacher), cleverly cut off criticism from other teachers who might be troubled by the extremely large refugee load they carry in their classrooms.

Texas is the Number 1 resettlement state in the nation. Turning red state Texas blue?
