Campaign underway to kill diversity visa lottery

NumbersUSA is today calling on everyone who wants to halt the colonization of America to ask their Representatives in Congress to support HR 2305, a bill that seeks to kill an outdated and frankly dangerous immigration program known as the diversity visa which I told you about here late last year.

Congress and the Administration still plan to take 50,000 U.S. jobs later this year and raffle them off to foreign workers on pure chance. Never mind that 14 million unemployed Americans are looking for a job. If that doesn’t make any sense to you, get passionate about Rep. Bob Goodlatte’s SAFE for America Act (H.R. 2305). Let’s kill this absurd lottery before autumn.

OK, the Visa Lottery doesn’t actually raffle off jobs. But it does raffle off U.S. citizenship — without any regard to a person’s education, skills, character, family relation, humanitarian need or the impact on American workers, taxes and quality of life.

The fact is that every year the federal government raffles off greencards (and path to U.S. citizenship) to 50,000 of the millions who play the lottery.

Nearly all of those 50,000 will immediately seek a job.

Those 50,000 foreign lottery winners will either take a job from an American, or fail to find a job and become a total net consumer of taxpayer benefits and infrastructure.

The  fax campaign is underway:

We are starting a faxing campaign today to push every Member of the House of Representatives to co-sponsor H.R. 2305 and protect 50,000 American workers this fall.

See if your Representative is a co-sponsor and if so, be sure to thank him or her.

By the way,  I always thought the Diversity Visa Lottery winners were pretty much on their own when they arrived, but this article from Shelbyville, TN in February indicates that Egyptian Lottery winners are getting some help with job searches and seem to be in direct competition with refugees (and Americans!) for meat packing jobs.

Senator Sessions smeared by America’s Voice and the Southern Poverty Law Center

Ho hum!  So what else is new.   America’s Voice and the Southern Poverty Law Center both well known for their smear tactics—-you know that is how the radical left operates, they learned it from Alinsky (Rule 13 and SPLC here)—went after Senator Jeff Sessions yesterday as reported at the Huffington Post.    You can read the whole smear here, but I was more interested in this little line.

Interestingly enough, his work on conservation causes earlier in life was lauded by environmentalists.

Why is this “interesting?”     What is without a doubt the greatest threat to the environment of the United States?  No, not global warming, not coal-fired plants, not cows farting!   The greatest threat to American beauty, to open space, to resource depletion is the out of control population growth fueled by out of control  immigration, so if Senator Sessions wants to  protect the environment it is perfectly consistent with restricting  immigration.

Those “nativist” groups mentioned by America’s Voice:  FAIR, CIS, NumbersUSA etc. grew out of the environmental movement as the movement became a tool of the extreme political left wing—a left wing that wanted more immigrants to fuel the war of the “have-nots” against the “haves,”  a left wing that wants to bring about a Socialist form of government in the US.  The immigrants are pawns in that massive strategy, much closer to realization now with Obama in the White House.

So why aren’t American environmental groups up in arms about the immigration population explosion (see NumbersUSA demonstration of the impact on American population here), because many receive large amounts of funding from donors who are Socialists and want no restrictions on immigration.

A few years ago there was a huge battle within the Sierra Club on immigration and the open borders side won simply because a big funder threatened to withdraw support if the Club took a position for controlled immigration.  Many of those activists who saw open borders as the major destructive force of American land, resources and quality of life gravitated to the groups America’s Voice and the SPLC refer to as “nativist” —a word which for me holds no evil connotation.   Like racist, xenophobe, homophobe, islamophobe, all are just words used to silence good people.

Don’t send money to American environmental groups if you care about America

I have for some time been meaning to tell you that in the UK and Canada the environmentalists are beginning to join with those who want to slow immigration.  The American environmental establishment has missed the boat.   Don’t send your hard-earned money to the Sierra Club and others of the major groups.  Groups that Socialists call “nativist,”  like NumbersUSA, FAIR, and CIS, are doing more to fight for the future of America’s land and resources than the so-called establishment environmental movement.

US Army looking for a few good immigrants

A slippery slope?  I don’t know, but I thought this story would interest our readers.  I immediately wondered if we were going to be recruiting Somali youths from Minneapolis.

From the Los Angeles Times:

Although the Army has been meeting or exceeding its recruiting goals, defense officials say there is a shortage of soldiers with medical, foreign language and cultural abilities needed in the war on terror and peacekeeping efforts around the world.

“What we’re looking for are critical, vital skills,” said Naomi Verdugo, assistant deputy for recruiting in the office of the assistant secretary of the Army.

The Army hopes to enlist 333 healthcare professionals, including doctors, dentists, nurses and others. It is also looking for 557 people with any of 35 languages, including Arabic and Yoruba, spoken in West Africa. Spanish is not on the list. An additional 110 slots are earmarked for other services, which have not yet started taking applications for the program.

Although the effort is limited in scope, it has raised concerns among some veterans groups and advocates for tighter immigration controls. They question whether the policy shift could pave the way for large numbers of foreigners, including ones who might have entered the U.S. illegally, to join the armed services.

“By aggressively recruiting foreigners abroad, or illegal immigrants who could use such a program to get legalized, we could easily create a situation where the Pentagon comes to rely on cheap foreign labor,” said Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, a Washington D.C.-based think tank.

“That’s not where we are now. . . . But we always need to be careful that we don’t start going down a steep, slippery slope.”

Food Stamp Scam update: More Mohameds rip off taxpayers

These food stamp scams by Muslim immigrants always get my attention.  I first learned about them because we had one where we live, and that Mohamed (Mohammad) recently was sent to the big house.  These Michigan  Mohameds will soon be joining him.  From the Ann Arbor News.

Four men who owned and operated an Ypsilanti Township convenience store are accused of fraudulently obtaining more than $432,800 by redeeming food stamp and WIC benefits for cash, phone cards, carpets, knives, and other non-food and ineligible items, authorities said today.

The men, all relatives who ran the Abbas Phone Card and Grocery store, were arraigned today on charges of committing food stamp and WIC fraud.

Named in the indictment are:

• Aidarus Abbas Mohamed, 54, a store owner and the applicant for federal food stamp and WIC benefits.

• Mohamed Mohamed-Abas Sheikh, 46, the owner’s brother and manager of the store.

• Ahmed Mohamed Abas, 23, Sheikh’s son and a store employee.

• Abdurahman Mohamed Abas, 20, also Sheikh’s son and a store employee.

American taxpayers funding jihadist activity abroad?

Now this part is stunning and it’s the first of these stories where we have confirmation of the practice we all thought was happening—the money (the taxpayers’ money) is being sent out of the country!

The indictment charges the men sent some of the money they fraudulently obtained to unknown recipients in the Horn of Africa, Europe, the Persian Gulf and West Africa, through their operation of an unlicensed money remitting business.

You know this isn’t a coincidence—all these Muslim immigrants just happening to be in the convenience store business.  There are probably worldwide workshops, training sessions, on how to get into the US and open stores with access to the federal food stamp program.

Hint to readers, if you have any suspicion of such activity in your neighborhood, go to your local police and suggest they investigate.   It takes time, maybe as long as two years, but eventually these ‘Mohameds’ get nailed.

NumbersUSA: Obama to push Amnesty this year

Pushing it fast!  

In his press conference* recognizing his 100th day in office Pres. Barack Obama reaffirmed plans to push amnesty this year. Obama said, “I see the process moving this first year. And I’m going to be moving it as quickly as I can.”

Read about it here at NumbersUSA.    The operating theory is that popular Presidents need to ram as much through in their first year before their popularity fades and that seems to be the principle at work here.   Earlier predictions were that there is no way Obama would be foolish enough to put Amnesty on the table if the economy still stinks, but looks like that concept is now out the window.  

And, heck, you have friends of big business who want to keep labor costs low pushing for an immigration stimulus in the WSJ.

Do you refugee industry folks ever worry that opening up more immigration (which amnesty will surely do) will further hurt your efforts to find employment for refugees?

* A little aside:  Obama is losing audience numbers for his prime time press conferences.  I guess the word is getting out that less people are interested in watching the media swoon and Obama stall, wander and weave.
