White House task force on NEW Americans wants to hear from you!

Yes, you got that right!

Munoz stood by her man…. Photo and story: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/07/28/cecilia-munoz-quarterback-of-obama-s-immigration-reform-efforts.html

The task force was created in November, here it is.  Now they are getting to work under the guidance of none-other than former La Raza (“the race”) agitator Cecilia Muñoz and the Director of USCIS León Rodríguez.

Titled, Call for Ideas: Help Shape a Federal Immigrant and Refugee Integration Strategy, here is what the White House put out today in its call (hat tip: Joanne).

You have until February 9th to help Obama with your ideas!

[skipped the first couple of paragraphs of today’s press release]

We are, and will continue to be, a nation of immigrants. On average, the United States welcomes approximately 1 million lawful permanent residents and more than 700,000 newly naturalized citizens each year. These new Americans contribute significantly to our economy. In fact, while foreign-born residents make up 13 percent of the population, they represent over 16 percent of the labor force and start 28 percent of all new businesses creating jobs for millions of Americans.

The goal of the Task Force is to develop a federal immigrant integration strategy that allows new Americans to contribute to society to their fullest potential and bring new Americans together with their receiving communities to strengthen communities.

By March 2015, the Task Force will submit a plan to the President that includes recommendations for federal actions to promote the integration of new Americans. In developing this plan, we need to hear from you. You know best what is working to support immigrant integration in your community. Send us input on promising practices and examples of model programs that help immigrants and refugees to contribute to your communities and our economy.

We also need your input to ensure that federal programs and policies continue to reflect our ongoing commitment to welcoming and integrating newcomers into the fabric of our country.

Please send your ideas and examples to NewAmericans@who.eop.gov by February 9, 2015.

Take the opportunity to tell them what is really going on!

LOL!  I had to laugh at how well they got all their buzz words and phrases in there:  “welcoming,” “newcomers,” “nation of immigrants,” “fabric of our country,” “receiving communities,” “new Americans,” and the winner is “integration” which was used six times not including in the title!

Readers, if you haven’t noticed, the word “assimilation” is verboten!   Assimilation implies that the refugees and immigrants will become like Americans (speak English, learn our history, appreciate our culture and take on aspects of it themselves) while integration suggests, at least in my mind, just your basic polite tolerance for each others cultures producing the least friction as possible between the old Americans and the “new” ones and placing American culture on equal footing with all the others.

Aderholt bill would block Obama amnesty; make it easier to send ‘unaccompanied minors’ back to Central America

I’m told that consideration of a bill by Rep. Robert Aderholt is moving fast, so I urge you to contact your member of Congress today in support of the Aderholt bill.

Thank goodness for Alabama, the home state of Senator Jeff Sessions.    How about Sessions for President in 2016!

From the Washington Examiner (hat tip: Cathy):

Republican Rep. Robert Aderholt wants to stop Obama from circumventing the Constitution!

On Tuesday Republican Rep. Martha Roby filed a bill, the “Prevention of Executive Amnesty Act of 2015,” to block President Obama’s unilateral action on immigration. Now, another House Republican has filed another proposal — this one more far-reaching — that would stop the president’s plan to offer quasi-legal status to millions of illegal immigrants.

The new bill, the “Repeal Executive Amnesty Act of 2015,” is from Rep. Robert Aderholt, who, like Roby, is from Alabama. The 44-page measure “not only defunds the president’s actions towards amnesty but also removes the president’s discretion in the ability to grant work permits, Social Security, and other federal benefits that go along with his order,” Aderholt said in a press release Wednesday. In addition, the proposal will “put limits on the president’s future ability to enact such wide-reaching actions that circumvent the Constitution’s separation of powers,” Aderholt said.

Continue reading and learn more about the bills, here.  Then this:

Finally, the bill would amend the 2008 law known as the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act, which allowed the relatively quick return of unaccompanied minors*** who enter the United States illegally from Canada or Mexico, but set up elaborate and lengthy procedures for children who come to the U.S. from non-contiguous countries. (Almost none of the children and adults who surged across the U.S. border illegally from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador last summer have been returned.) Under the Aderholt bill, they could be sent back to their home countries more quickly.

The Aderholt and Roby bills present the House Republican leadership with a choice. Should the GOP propose a limited, specific measure to rescind only the president’s action of last November? Or should it do that and in addition undo more of the damage the president has done to immigration enforcement during his six years in office? Right now, there’s no indication of the leadership’s preference.

Another test for Boehner and the boys!

NumbersUSA is urging action.  See what they say here.

Call your Representative, tell your House Member to support the Aderholt Repeal Executive Amnesty Act of 2015!

What would we do without Judicial Watch?

Tom Fitton, President Judicial Watch

Two stories crossed my desk in the last 24 hours displaying the exemplary work being done by Judicial Watch to get the word out about the Obama Administration’s shameful activities involving immigration.  I sure would like to get them to look into the Refugee Admissions Program of the US State Department and the Office of Refugee Resettlement (beyond this great find on the cost to US taxpayers of the unaccompanied minors).

Please see the two stories that got my attention today (sorry I don’t have time these days to post more).

The first is a press release from JW on the unaccompanied alien children.

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that on September 9, 2014, it received documents from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) revealing that the Obama administration paid Baptist Children and Family Services (BCFS) $182,129,786 to provide “basic shelter care” to 2,400 “unaccompanied alien children” (UAC) for four months in 2014. The BCFS budget included charges for $104,215,608 for UACs at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and an additional $77,914,178 for UACs at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Read it all.

The other news, thanks to Judicial Watch, is this story at World Net Daily.  Where is the Obama Executive Order on granting amnesty?

NEW YORK – Did President Obama just set up Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson to be a candidate for impeachment instead of himself if conservatives convince the Republican majorities in the House and the Senate that his “executive actions” on immigration are unconstitutional?

The inquiry begins with the question: Where are the executive orders Obama supposedly signed to permit up to 5 million parents of young illegal aliens to remain in the United States for three years?

The White House appears to have engaged in administrative sleight of hand, changing U.S. immigration law not by executive order but by a memorandum “exercising prosecutorial discretion” Johnson signed the day of Obama’s Nov. 20 nationwide address that so far has not been filed in the Federal Register.

Tom Fitton, president of Washington-based watchdog institution Judicial Watch, told WND in an interview the legal status of Johnson’s memo is a serious constitutional question that deserves to be adjudicated.

By the way, since it’s the end of the year, consider donating a few bucks to Judicial Watch because they really are looking out for your wallet.

Lutheran refugee contractor cheers for Obama amnesty (no surprise!)

We have reported for years on how the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland is one of the leading advocacy groups in the nation involved in the open borders political movement, so this is no surprise.

Before you read on, have a look at a recent Form 990 (page 9) for LIRS.  Their income from gifts, grants and contributions was $41,757,518 and $40,417,752 came from “government grants.”  That means that you, the American taxpayer, “contributed” 97% of their income. Check out their Baltimore digs and note that their income jumped $10 million from 2011 to 2012.

Obama gets a big smooch from LIRS! Linda Hartke, CEO of LIRS makes over $200,000 a year in salary and benefits (you, the American taxpayer, pay her salary) http://lirs.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Linda_Hartke_Bio.pdf

LIRS could not exist and be lobbying for amnesty if it wasn’t for the fact that you pay their salaries and overhead! Galling isn’t it?

One aspect of their enthusiasm for illegal aliens being granted permission to live and work here that I don’t get is this—they are charged with finding jobs for the refugees they resettle and there is no doubt that the Obama reprieve for millions of illegal aliens will put those “new Americans” in direct competition with job-hungry refugees for low-skilled jobs.  Doesn’t LIRS see that?

Here is LIRS cheering the President last Thursday….

From PR Newswire:

BALTIMORE, Nov. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS), and supporters all across America, welcome the significant steps taken today by the Obama Administration that invite our neighbors out of the shadows, bring greater hope and security in the place of fear and stabilize the lives of millions of immigrants living in the United States. The President’s historic announcement of new immigration policies brings hope to immigrant families, aids our communities in being places of welcome, and strengthens our nation by living out American values, and lifting up our economy.  These actions are grounded in our history as a nation that has been renewed and strengthened by each generation of newcomers.

The policies announced today reflect American values of justice and are an important step towards a more humane immigration system. It is our hope that the President’s demonstrated leadership will lead to Congressional action to rebuild an immigration system which further strengthens us as a nation and respects the rights and dignity of people who have come to the United States seeking refuge, family or the dignity of work and wages.

“Today, millions of lives have been changed for the better.  We must continue to lift up the American tradition of being a welcoming society that honors freedom, equality, and opportunity and values each and every person,” said Linda Hartke, LIRS President and CEO. “The President’s actions are a significant step in the right direction – promoting family unity and offering vital solutions for our economy and country.”

As a faith-based organization, LIRS has long advocated for an immigration system that encourages and supports keeping families together, and better protects children, migrants, refugees and other vulnerable persons. The President’s actions today are consistent with LIRS’s core principles of respect for human dignity and the biblical call to welcome the newcomer.

They go on to say they won’t be satisfied until they get the whole ball of wax—comprehensive immigration reform which they lobbied for in 2013.  Of course, we know that the Senate-passed S.744 had many goodies that will flow directly to LIRS and other refugee contractors.

There is contact information (see their press release). If you are a Lutheran who disagrees with what LIRS is doing in your name, you should contact them and let them know how you feel.

For those who want to learn more about LIRS, we have an extensive archive here.  For those following the Wyoming controversy, LIRS in Baltimore is the parent organization of Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains, here (one of our top three posts over the last week).

LIRS is one of the top nine federal resettlement contractors.  Don’t be fooled by the fact that they call themselves Voluntary Agencies.  They are all almost completely funded by you, the American taxpayer.

US Bishops’ lobbyist threatens White House with ‘fence jumpers’ if Obama doesn’t act on executive amnesty

Of course, Kevin Appleby says he is speaking “politically” when quoted by the New York Times last week here:

Many pro-immigration groups and advocates — as well as the Hispanic voters who could be crucial for Democrats’ hopes of winning the White House in 2016 — are expecting bold action, having grown increasingly frustrated after watching a sweeping bipartisan immigration bill fall prey to a gridlocked Congress last year.

“This is his last chance to make good on his promise to fix the system,” said Kevin Appleby, the director of migration policy at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. “If he delays again, the immigration activists would — just politically speaking — jump the White House fence.”

Money! Money! Money!

For new readers (and everybody) always keep in the back of your mind that the US Conference of Catholic Bishops migration fund is almost completely–98%–funded by federal grants and contracts.  They will benefit financially from an amnesty as they will be tasked with getting the “new Americans” signed up for all their social services.  You probably pay Appleby’s salary!

Also, I think the Bishops were actually promoting the rush on the border when they traveled to Central America in late 2013 and Appleby authored their report on the coming border surge.  Could they predict the surge of “children” because they helped create it?

Don’t forget to call your Representative and US Senators today to demand they oppose Obama’s Executive Amnesty!

We are up against BIG-money “religious” groups operating on your dime!
