Germany rounds up and deports Afghan failed asylum seekers

Thirty four Afghan young men were rounded up in Germany in recent days and put on a plane to Kabul.

19-year-old German student, Maria Ladenburger, was raped and murdered in Freiburg, Germany in October allegedly by an Afghan migrant. We learn now that the Afghan was previously convicted and released from prison in Greece for attempting to kill another young woman. Trying to cope with hundreds of thousands of asylum seekers who have entered the country in recent years, German authorities say they are moving faster now to get rid of those who have no legitimate claim to asylum.
Germans are giving preference for refugee status to Syrians and apparently these Afghans couldn’t prove they would be persecuted if sent home.
This publicly reported (by the Merkel government) round-up and deportation is likely meant to show nervous Germans that they are being protected.
Here is the story at The Times of Malta:

Afghan asylum seekers have returned home after being deported from Germany the day before, an official said, a move that was made possible after a recent Afghan-Germany deal to stem the influx into the European country.

The plane carrying the deportees – all young men without families – landed in Kabul around 5am local time, said the Kabul airport chief of police, Mohammad Asif Jabarkhil.

Many of the deportees expressed disappointment, saying they had lived and worked in Germany for years and were now forced to come back without any job prospects.

Until now, few were deported with many instead being convinced to go home voluntarily with financial incentives. [I’m an advocate for giving financial incentives for migrants to go home. We should be thinking about this in the US, especially for refugees who came here thinking the streets are paved with gold and instead finding only slaughter plant work for low wages!—ed]

At the Kabul airport on Thursday, some deportees – such as 24-year-old Mohammad Khan who said he had spent 10,000 euros (£8,350) to get to Europe and had lived in Germany for almost six years – complained over the behaviour of the German police.

“Two days ago, two policemen came to my home and said, ‘Let’s go on a picnic,’ and took me to the deportation centre,” he said. “The next day, I was brought to the Frankfurt Airport.

In light of the horrible news about the last moments of Maria Ladenburger’s life, not too many Germans are weeping for the recently deported. It is only too bad they didn’t find Hussein Khavari sooner.

Are NGO "rescue" ships in the Mediterranean helping to destabilize Europe?

A few days ago, an American reader sent me a story about the supposedly non-profit groups that have furnished rescue ships operating in the Mediterranean. I didn’t have time to look at it carefully (and I knew I had previously written about one such ship, here), but when a longtime reader from Malta sent me more links yesterday, I spent a little time just now going over reports.
The allegations are that the ‘non-profit’ ships may be working in concert with human traffickers in Libya and that they are not simply picking up (mostly economic) migrants in European waters, but meeting the Africans and Middle Easterners who want to get to Europe in the waters right off Libya. In such locations any foundering vessel would logically be returned to the African coast, the shortest distance by far, but are intercepted and taken all the way to Italy.
(By the way, any mention of Libya gets my blood boiling because we know it is now a gateway for invaders of Europe thanks to Hillary Clinton—a story I followed from its outset!)

Here is one story on the allegations against these ‘non-profits.’
The Way:

For two months, GEFIRA using marinetraffic.com have been monitoring the movements of ships owned by a couple of NGOs, and, using data from data.unhcr.org.

Gerira [GEFIRA?] have kept track of the daily arrivals of African immigrants in Italy. It turned out we have witnessed a massive scam of illegal human trafficting.

NGOs, smugglers, the mafia in cahoots with the European Union have shipped thousands of illegals into Europe under the pretext of rescuing people, assisted by the Italian coast guard which coordinated their activities.

Human traffickers contact the Italian coast guard in advance to receive support and to pick up their dubious cargo. NGO ships are directed to the “rescue spot” even as those to be rescued are still in Libya.

The 15 ships GEFIRA observed are owned or leased by NGOs have regularly been seen to leave their Italian ports, head south, stop short of reaching the Libyan coast, pick up their human cargo, and take course back 260 miles to Italy even though the port of Zarzis in Tunis is just 60 mile away from the rescue spot.

The organizations in question are: MOAS, Jugend Rettet, Stichting Bootvluchting, Médecins Sans Frontières, Save the Children, Proactiva Open Arms, Sea-Watch.org, Sea-Eye and Life Boat.

One cannot help but wonder whether the MOAS people are honest saviours or they are on a mission to destabilise Europe even further.

MOAS stands for Migrant Offshore Aid Station. It is a Malta-based non-governmental organisation, which set itself the task of patrolling the Mediterranean and rescuing people in high seas, lifting them up from dinghies, rafts and boats onto the Phoenix, the MOAS-owned trawler, a vessel complete with drones for scanning the waters, and ferrying migrants from places several miles off the Libyan shore to Sicily. The organisation is run by Chris Catrambone (35) and his wife Regina.

And, by the way, in February of this year, we reported that the ‘Phoenix’ was headed to Asia to rescue Muslim Rohingya, but I don’t know if that ever happened. (I’m always surprised by how much information is here at RRW that I’ve forgotten about!)

Even if the ‘rescue’ ships are doing nothing illegal, their very presence simply encourages more migrants to attempt sea crossings.

Cut the crap! Australia 'refugee' deal is about the Australian public not wanting any more Muslim migrants

….while Obama is willing to take all he can get!
Look at this New York Times story on the supposed deal the Obama Administration has made with Australia to take its rejected asylum seekers off their hands! And, look at the UN twisting like a pretzel as it tries to explain why this insane deal is even being considered.
What it all boils down to is this: the Australian public (the voters) are sick and tired of all the Muslim boat people trying to break into Australia (so they have been parked offshore), but Australian political leaders, by agreeing to take Central American (phony refugees) in Costa Rica, are banking on being able to sell the public on most likely Catholics (or Christians of some sort) rather than the Muslims whose asylum cases were rejected!
This is basically a swap of illegal aliens! Don’t believe the UN that this is a “one-off!” Check out Malta, the European island nation that sends the US its overflow African illegal alien boat people, a travesty we have been writing about for years.

The Muslim boat people held in detention in Australian offshore facilities have had their asylum claims rejected. So neither those on Nauru or those in Costa Rica are legitimate (by definition) refugees!

SYDNEY, Australia — For years, the United Nations’ refugee agency told Australia that its policy of banishing asylum seekers to remote Pacific island detention centers was illegal.

samantha-power — This is Obama’s Ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power. This “deal” sounds like something she wholeheartedly approved. What will Nikki Haley do about it (or other similar deals, this is not a one-off) when she gets to the UN? Will she say No! We don’t know, but one thing we can be sure of, Haley will likely dress more professionally than Power!

Now, the agency is working with Australia in what both sides call an unusual, not-to-be-replicated agreement to send some of those refugees across the world, to be resettled in the United States.

The deal, announced by Australia last week, is aimed at shutting down two offshore detention facilities — one on the island nation of Nauru and the other on Manus Island in Papua New Guinea — where hundreds of people are housed in what rights groups describe as deplorable conditions. The United States has agreed to take some of them; how many, and how quickly, remains unclear.

In an interview this week, Volker Turk, an assistant high commissioner with the United Nations’ refugee agency, said his staff would help with the screening and resettlement of refugees but only as a “one-off” to allay their suffering. “We think there is an urgent imperative to find a humanitarian way out of this otherwise very, very, complex conundrum,” he said by telephone from Canberra, the Australian capital.

What the heck is the “complex conundrum?”

Either they are legitimate refugees that Australia should admit to the mainland or they are illegal aliens who should be returned to where they came from.
THEY ARE NOT AMERICA’S PROBLEM EITHER WAY!
NYT continues:

“We do not in any way want to give the impression that we would continue supporting such types of mechanisms,” Mr. Turk said, referring to Australia’s offshore detention policy. “We, all of us, are very clear that this is a one-off, good offices, exceptional humanitarian type of involvement because we do not believe that the future of handling this lies in sending people to Manus Island and Nauru.”

Making the deal even more unusual, Australia has agreed to take in an unspecified number of Central American refugees who fled gang violence in their homelands. [Fleeing gang violence is not a criteria for being designated a refugee!—ed] The United Nations says there are an estimated 2,400 such people from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras who have been screened and recognized as refugees [Who “recognized” them?—ed]. The United States has long been reluctant to let them apply for asylum on its territory and only recently agreed to let the United Nations vet them at a processing center in Costa Rica.

I REPEAT, WHY ARE THE CENTRAL AMERICANS WHO FLED TO COSTA RICA OUR PROBLEM?
Legitimate asylum seekers are supposed to ask for asylum in the first safe country they get to, they are not supposed to be ‘asylum shopping’ for better deals! By doing this ‘one-time’ (ha! ha!) deal we set the precedent for many more to come!

Migrants looking for economic opportunity and running from gangs/violence are NOT refugees

Immigration activists are urging Obama to release them all before January 20th!

They are surging north by the tens of thousands since Trump won the Presidential election on November 8th. See news at Drudge yesterday, here. And it isn’t just Mexicans and Central Americans, as Pamela Geller told us here two days ago, that want to get in to America before Donald Trump is inaugurated.

Most are NOT REFUGEES! although most will be requesting asylum (and most are being cared for on the taxpayer’s dime).
While we focus so much energy on the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program, the asylum portion of the Refugee Act of 1980 is going berserk! The Open Borders activists have latched on to it in order to make up for the numbers they might lose in the normal refugee program. I mentioned it recently when I wrote about Doris Meissner.
In the normal process we write about all the time, refugees are selected abroad and flown here on your dime (they are supposed to repay the airfare, but no one, outside the government, knows how much they do repay).
With asylum seekers, they get here on their own either by crossing the border illegally or illegally overstaying a visa and then requesting asylum, which is supposed to offer protection from PERSECUTION.
In either case legitimate “refugees” must prove that they fear persecution if returned home, according the 1951 Convention on refugees….

Article 1 of the Convention, as amended by the 1967 Protocol, defines a refugee as this:

“A person who owing to a well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion, is outside the country of his nationality and is unable or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to avail himself of the protection of that country; or who, not having a nationality and being outside the country of his former habitual residence as a result of such events, is unable or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to return to it..”

What has been happening is that the definition is being expanded (really by the Open Borders lobby and their media mouthpieces) beyond the idea of persecution to include anyone who is running from anything that makes them unhappy!

Bloomberg: Let all asylum-seekers go free before January 20th:

Now, back to the article that caught my eye a few days ago at Bloomberg (where else!): Obama being urged to let all asylum-seekers go free. But, remember! most of the tens of thousands of Unaccompanied Alien Children who entered the US illegally are already free to roam America!

Immigration advocates are asking the Obama administration to release thousands of detained Central American women and children who want asylum in the U.S., citing concerns that Donald Trump will deport them after his inauguration in January.

Representatives of groups including the Women’s Refugee Commission and the American Immigration Lawyers Association met with White House officials last week to discuss a host of immigration issues, including the fate of about 4,000 Central American detainees, some as young as two years old, who have fled violence in their home countries. They’re housed in jail-like facilities in Texas and Pennsylvania, some for more than a year, as they wait for the government to process their asylum pleas.

Immigration advocates want the president to either end the practice of detaining families altogether, as they’ve been requesting for years, or direct Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials to release families with a notice to appear before a judge on their own recognizance.

They are NOT refugees! But, see here below, that the media calls them that already. In order to be a refugee they must make an asylum claim and be granted asylum! In most states they are not eligible for welfare until the asylum claim has been approved.

The plight of the Central American refugees, who fled violence and gangs in their home countries, is one of several 11th-hour immigration conundrums Obama faces as he prepares for Trump to enter the White House. The Republican campaigned on promises to crack down on undocumented immigrants and to build a wall on the Mexican border, and immigration advocates fear a government that has struggled under Obama to humanely handle a crush of asylum-seekers at the southern border will turn markedly more hostile under his successor.

The vast majority of so-called ‘refugees’ invading Europe now are claiming asylum and are not legitimate refugees, and shouldn’t be referred to as ‘refugees’ until their claims have been approved.

Grassley and Goodlatte blast Obama Admin on secret Australian 'refugee' deal

Got guts! This is a good sign from Congress (a sign perhaps that Trump’s victory is providing some backbone!).

Senator Chuck Grassley and Rep. Bob Goodlatte chairmen of their respective Judiciary Committees have sent a strongly worded letter to the Obama Administration telling them to release to the public information on a secret deal to admit to the US rejected asylum seekers held in Australian offshore detention centers.
We reported the news here and here last week.
Remember readers, these are mostly Muslims (who attempted to break into Australia by boat) who have had their asylum claims rejected—Australia does not want them!

Setting precedents!

There are many important concerns in this letter, but one issue in particular caught my eye—the idea of setting a precedent which is something I’ve been hammering for years.
Deals like this are going on elsewhere in the refugee program and it is wrong.
I’ll direct you to the issue of Malta and the FACT that we have been admitting aliens who arrived on the EUROPEAN island of Malta from Libya and other African hellholes (surely undocumented with only their personal stories to rely on!) by transforming them into refugees and placing them in your American towns ever since the Bush Administration.
These are Europe’s illegal aliens and not our concern! (just as this new batch is Australia’s problem).

Congress and the new President can quickly plug this hole (See our 8-year-old Malta archive here), and we must stop these foolish “deals” wherever they are occurring.

Of course, deal implies we get something in exchange, but what we get is never clear!
