Congolese refugees are going to Ogden, UT, volunteers needed, but whites should not apply

Catholic Charities in Utah is recruiting volunteers who look like the Congolese!
Many people believe that Utah is resettling refugees through the Mormon church.  Although the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints encourages the resettlement of refugees, including Muslim refugees, it is actually the Catholic Church in charge here.
An aside: every time I see something from Utah I wonder who had the bright idea to place a Burmese Muslim refugee in an apartment complex filled with Burmese Christians.  The end result was the brutal murder of a little Christian girl and now the taxpayers of Utah get to pay for Esar Met’s life in prison.

We have been writing about new resettlement sites lately (Rutland, VT, Reno, NV, Ithaca, NY) as the federal government and its refugee contractors are scrambling for new places in which to seed third world diversity.  Now it is Ogden Utah’s turn.
From the Standard Examiner:

OGDEN — Diverse populations of Ogden: You are wanted.

The community is invited to a meeting for future volunteers to gear up to welcome refugees from the Congo beginning sometime this summer.

A refugee resettlement conversation is planned for 6 p.m to 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 23, at the Marshall White Center, 222 28th Street in Ogden.

“We want to involve Ogden’s diverse communities with this initiative,” said Jenny Gnagey, community awareness building specialist for Catholic Community Services and also an assistant professor of economics at Weber State University. “We want to be able to connect these refugees with people that look like them.”

[….]

“Each year, Catholic Community Services resettles 600 refugees from all around the world in the state of Utah,” Gnagey said. “This summer we are expanding our resettlement efforts to the Ogden community. In the coming year, we expect that Ogden will receive approximately 20 primarily Congolese refugee families.”

They must have problems in Utah with landlords fearful of renting to refugees or they wouldn’t be saying this:

Catholic Community Services also is looking for landlords who will rent to these families.

The rental agreement comes with supervision of Catholic Community Services to assure that the families fulfill their obligations.

“If you rent to a refugee and they have any issue, we will be there to support them,” Batar said. “We want to assure landlords that they don’t have to worry.”

Batar wants future landlords to know that the refugees coming to Ogden are legally documented new American citizens.  [To be accurate, they aren’t US citizens until they go through the citizenship process—ed]

Most of the Congolese refugees entering the US right now are from the DR Congo. We committed to taking 50,000 of them, here in 2013.
Below is a map (source: US State Department Refugee Processing Center) of where 20,967 of them have been placed in the last 4 years.  (Over 29,000 yet to be placed by the State Dept. target date of 2019!)
Please note that only a small number (846) are Muslims, but many Christian faiths are represented.  I wanted to mention that here because there are some misunderstandings flying around that all of our refugees are Muslims, they aren’t!
However, remember as we learned here, many from the DR Congo are women with (costly) mental health needs, and they likely won’t be supporting their families anytime soon.

How a Syrian seed community will be built in Eugene, Oregon (around one initial seedling)

We’ve been telling you lately about how the federal government and its refugee contractors are out scouting new locations to expand the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program to your towns and cities.  They are desperate for new sites as older sites are overloaded and pushback from concerned citizens is growing.
We recently told you about Rutland, VT and Reno, NV, (in April it was Ithaca, NY) so it was no surprise to see news about the Eugene, OR (Lane County) area getting Syrian refugees. However, as I read the story and went back to earlier stories, the plot thickened!

Catholic_Community_Services_of_Lane_County_EWTN_US_Catholic_News_1_3_2011 (1)
No mention is made of the fact that the US Conference of Catholic Bishops is a federal refugee contractor paid millions of dollars each year to seed refugees into American towns and cities.

The story that I saw first thing this morning is this one about a Catholic Charities being asked by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops to take a few Syrians and Burmese refugees soon (usual fairly straightforward strategy).

SPRINGFIELD, Ore.- In a few months, Lane County will gain three new families with the help of Catholic Community Services of Lane County.

These families are refugees from Syria and Myanmar, also known as Burma.

After that, Lane County will continue to gain 7 to 10 new refugee families each year.

Catholic Community Services Executive Director Tom Mulhern says the US Conference of Catholic Bishops called Catholic Community Services, asking them to help facilitate a refugee program in Lane County.

Demand transparency!
Be sure if you live in this area to contact Catholic Community Services and your local elected officials and ask for a copy of the R & P Abstract for Eugene/Springfield.  Don’t know what that is, please read our recent post on Reno! As a taxpayer, you are entitled to all the facts on the new resettlement site.
But, then get this!  Are we seeing the United Nations new ALTERNATIVE PATHWAYS being put in motion to build the Syrian community in Lane County?

seedling in soil
This is Welcoming America’s slide presentation on the idea of seeding your towns with immigrants and refugees. I did not make this up!

Here is what I found when I looked around some more:
The ‘seedling’ for this new community is a Syrian ‘refugee’ named Ali Turki Ali who was ‘discovered’ by a longtime US State Department employee named Mark Ward working in Turkey.
Although Ali was apparently perfectly safe in Turkey, he was interested in going to Europe, but Ward convinced him to go to America instead.
You really need to read the article.
But, then this is something I have never heard of and makes me wonder if this is part of the new strategy to get Syrians in to the US.
Ali was told that he would need a private sponsor and Ward’s  25-year-old son Peter would do the job. So some ‘twenty-something’ can vouch for a newly arrived Muslim refugee? When did that policy come into practice?

You will need a sponsor wherever you go,” Ward said.

“I know one American,” Ali said. “You. And you’re not in the United States.”

“I know an American who could be your sponsor,” Ward said. “My son, Peter.”

A sponsor is someone who agrees to watch over a refugee for their first six months in the country. The sponsor helps a refugee find a place to live and learn about the community.

Mark Ward showed Ali a map of Oregon. It might as well have been a photograph of Mars.

“And that same look came over his face,” Ward says.

And then I had to convince (Lutheran Community Services) in Portland that I wanted him in Eugene, and that wasn’t easy,” Ward says. Lutheran Community Services is Ali’s receiving agency in Oregon and one of three refugee resettlement agencies in the state, according to Evans, the state DHS spokesman.

“We want him in Portland,” Ward recalls the agency saying. “Where we can keep an eye on him.”

So, guess what, Ali went to Eugene, and subsequently the US Conference of Catholic Bishops has set up a new resettlement agency—-Catholic Community Services of Lane County—and presto! Ali’s extended family will be the first to arrive for the new resettlement site!
We learn here that because his two brothers have a relative in the area (Ali!) they are on the way to Eugene, Oregon.
So plant the first refugee seedling and more will come!

Tennessee Measles outbreak first identified at Memphis mosque

Update May 12th:  More here from Leahy at Breitbart.
We have long contended that you may be at greater risk from the health issues related to refugee resettlement than you would be from a catastrophic terrorist attack by a refugee.  See our health issues category with 290! previous posts to see what I mean!
[That said, I do believe that in the long term, the very greatest threat we face from the resettlement of tens of thousands of refugees each year is the more gradual, but ultimately more devastating, demographic change (the Hijra) that is necessary for the expansion of Islamic shariah law.]
But, nothing frightens people more in the short term than thinking about their children being exposed to potentially deadly diseases.

Holly Johnson Memphis
Leahy tells us that the Health Department has yet to call Holly Johnson who runs Catholic Charities of Tennessee and is responsible for the refugees entering the state. Wouldn’t she be able to tell them quickly if those infected were in their refugee data base for TN? And, doesn’t she have records on refugees’ immunizations? Here is how to reach Johnson: http://www.cctenn.org/servicedetails.cfm?name=Tennessee%20Office%20for%20Refugees%20-%20About%20Us&pid=14071713565812760-D&id=9

Here is the news at Breitbart.  You can be sure this information would not have come out without relentless digging by Breitbart reporter Michael Patrick Leahy.

The first reported case of a person with measles in the recent Memphis outbreak, which now numbers seven confirmed cases, was at a local mosque on April 15, according to the Shelby County Health Department.

“The first public place where there was a public exposure potentially [to measles] was the Masjid Al-Noor Mosque on April 15,” Dr. Alisa Haushalter, Director of the Shelby County Health Department, tells Breitbart News.

“The mosque is one location we know that individuals who were infectious were during their infectious period, but that’s not necessarily where the first case occurred. I don’t want you to draw conclusions without sufficient information,” she added.

Haushalter acknowledged, however, that the measles outbreak could have originated with an unvaccinated for measles adult or child brought to Tennessee under the federal refugee resettlement program, something she called “a possibility amongst many.”

[….]

Surprisingly, the majority of the more than 70,000 refugees resettled annually across the United States through the federal refugee resettlement program are not required to have been vaccinated for measles prior to their arrival here.

If you live in the area, you definitely want to go to the full story because reporter Leahy provides a whole list of locations where you might have come in contact with one of the infectious Measles cases.
I get so steamed when I see stories like this because there is so much our good-for-nothing Congress could do to at least make this program safer if they can’t bring themselves to scrap it altogether!

Catholic Charities targeting Ithaca, NY for new refugee resettlement office

I suspect this is going on all across America now as Obama has put the pedal to the metal to get his 10,000 Syrian Sunni Muslims resettled on top of the 75,000 (more than in recent years) other refugees from around the world.  The existing 180-190 contractor offices are probably all struggling to find housing for the huge flood expected by September 30th.

Refugees are already being placed in all of these cities, but they need fresh “welcoming” territory!

This article at Ithaca.com makes it all sound so nice, so welcoming, so easy.
What a joke that they will get these impoverished people on their feet in three months and it won’t cost local taxpayers a dime!  Oh yeh! What about the kids in schools, what about health care, what about housing for poor and disabled Americans—this is all FREE! Who knew!
For all of you near Ithaca, please read my post from earlier in the week about what is happening in those other cities in New York state that are overloaded!
(Come to think of it, maybe the Catholic Church in Ithaca has an unused church that they can sell for a mosque!).
Calling Donald Trump! They are pouring the Middle Eastern and African refugees into New York in a big way— before you can get to the White House!
From Ithaca.com:

Catholic Charities of Tompkins and Tioga counties is applying to become a refugee resettlement agency.

That designation means the not-for-profit will get federal funding to help prescreened refugees from wartorn countries start their new lives in America. [Remember, we just learned that instead of 18-24 months of screening we are now down to 3 months for Syrians!—ed]

Sue Chafee and Laurie Konwinski of Catholic Charities appeared before Common Council on Wednesday night to explain the program, which proposes to resettle up to 50 people during the 2017 fiscal year – beginning on October 1, 2016. [They will not stop at 50!!!—ed]

“We have a lot of say in who we’re going to select,” Chafee said. [No, she doesn’t. She doesn’t select!—ed] “There is an option to bring single people, but it’s easier to house families in Ithaca because you can pool the money going to each member of the family and cover rent for four or five months.”  [If you are wondering what she means by pooling money, it is because they are paid by the head for each refugee, so a family of six or eight brings in a lot more money than a single refugee.  And CC gets to pocket some of it.—ed]

The countries of origin which Catholic Charities expects to focus on locally include Syria, as well as the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Bhutan, along with anyone en queue from communities already well established in the Ithaca area, like the Burmese.

Who might be available in the area as translators is an important consideration, Konwinski said. For example, since Syracuse has large Sudanese and Somali communities, refugees from those countries tend to go to where their home folks already are.

Officially, federal monies would be for three months of services provided by Catholic Charities to new Americans.  [And, what are the odds that they will be supporting themselves in 3 months—zero!—ed]

Here is the contact information for the Ithaca Common Council if you are concerned about this proposal.
And, see our ‘Ten things your town needs to know’ by clicking here.
You should all be on your toes wherever you live watching for stories like this one!  If you hope to have any say in what they are doing, you must get into the fray now!

You have every right to question what Washington has planned for your city or town!

One more thing….I saw news that there is a push on to get refugees seeded in White Plains, NY, but haven’t had a chance to write about it.

Another story about refugees living in slums, Syracuse this time….

….where Catholic Charities is seeding the city with Somalis!
Let me repeat! Catholic Charities is responsible in this story about Somalis living in slums in Syracuse.

holy trinity syracuse
No Easter mass today at Syracuse’s former Holy Trinity Catholic church which became a mosque in 2014, thanks to Catholic Charities continuing transformation of Syracuse. https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2014/08/08/syracuse-catholic-church-becomes-mosque-update/

Watch! Instead of recognizing that we are resettling more impoverished people (with no chance at upward mobility) to American slums in the name of ‘Christian charity’ than we can afford, they will all be demanding more tax dollars rather than a slowdown in the process.
Obama and his ‘religious’ contractors, are expecting to resettle a whopping 85,000 this year alone!
Cloward and Piven live before your very eyes!
From Syracuse.com (emphasis is mine):

Syracuse, NY — There’s no heat or water in the dead of winter. Urine and feces dirty the hallways. Children go to school scarred by bedbug bites. Drug dealers take refuge inside busted doors.

This is what America looks like for dozens of refugees, who fled war and persecution to find a North Side apartment complex that is no refuge.

And U.S. taxpayers are footing the bill, paying thousands of dollars in rents each month to owners who haven’t consistently paid water bills, maintained the property or provided adequate security.

That’s according to a class-action lawsuit filed in February on behalf of more than 40 Somali refugees living at the Kimton Apartments, 1313 Butternut St., for years known as “Little Mo” after the Somali capital of Mogadishu. The lawsuit argues the problems are so big that they affect everyone living in the building.

Mike Melara
Mike Melara runs this office of Catholic Charities using his “entrepreneurial” instincts.

Tenants “came to this country with the promise of a new life, where they and their children would be safe,” lawyer Josh Cotter wrote in the lawsuit. “Upon their arrival, they found their new home is not much better than the refugee camps they just left.”

[….]

“African houses are more beautiful than American houses,” she said.

[….]

Very few Somali refugees make it to America.  [The reporter apparently has no clue that the number of Somalis admitted to the US is well on its way to 150,000!—ed]

Continue reading about the slum landlord and its property manager connected to Catholic Charities.
The report says the Somalis have been offered opportunities to leave, but don’t want to break up their Somali “community.”  So much for assimilation!

Update!  This morning Chuck Todd on Meet the Press suggested that what happened in Belgium wouldn’t happen here because our Muslims were not living in slums with no assimilation going on….oh really Chuck!
