Survey: 37% of Germans want Muslim immigration to Germany halted

Invasion of Europe series continued….

Photo at ‘World Bulletin’ has no connection to this news, it is being used to denigrate German citizens and link those opposed to more Muslim immigration to the extreme political right (even though Nazis of the 1930’s and 40’s were really on the political left).

Perhaps what interested me most is that although the article tries really hard to link the dissatisfaction with the ‘Rightwingers’ and uses this photo (above) to illustrate the article and cause readers to recoil, the dissatisfaction (55% think asylum seekers are liars) cuts across all political parties.  These are mainstream Germans.

World Bulletin:

The study concluded that a large number of Germans with xenophobic, chauvinist or anti-Semitic tendencies did not only vote for right-wing parties, but also center-right or center–left parties.

Meanwhile, Germany has offered to take 10,000 Syrians this year and most of those are Muslims.

Here is more of the story from World Bulletin (emphasis is mine):

Muslim immigrants, Roma people and asylum seekers face growing discrimination in German society, a recent study by Leipzig University has revealed.

Almost 37 percent of those surveyed said that they are in support of the prohibition of immigration of Muslims to Germany, while 43 percent of Germans said that they “sometimes feel like a foreigner in their own country due to so many Muslims living here,” according to the research conducted by Leipzig University scholars Professor Elmar Braehler and Dr. Oliver Decker.

[….]

A total of 24.1 percent argued that foreigners should be sent back to their home countries, should there be a scarcity of jobs in Germany.

The research has revealed a significant increase in negative views towards Muslim immigrants in the last five years.

Those who argued for a ban against the immigration of Muslims to Germany has increased from 21.4 percent in 2009 to 36.6 percent in 2014.

A total of 18 percent of those surveyed approved xenophobic statements, while five percent agreed with anti-Semitic statements.

[….]

The survey showed that there is a widespread negative perception of asylum seekers in society.

A total of 55.3 percent said they did not believe that asylum seekers really flee from prosecution or pressure in their home countries, while 76 percent opposed the simplification of processes for granting asylum to refugees.

Achtung! German politicians:

…..support for right-wing extremism has decreased to 5.6 percent this year, compared with 9.7 percent in 2002.

The study concluded that a large number of Germans with xenophobic, chauvinist or anti-Semitic [only 5% expressed anti-Semitic statements!—ed] tendencies did not only vote for right-wing parties, but also center-right or center–left parties.

German court refuses to send Somali asylum seeker back to the Netherlands…

….says the Dutch are “inhumane” to Muslim ‘refugees.’

Invasion of Europe report!

Does anyone wonder why the Dutch don’t want him? http://www.libertarianrepublican.net/2010/12/12-somalis-arrested-in-netherlands-in.html

As we have told readers on many previous occasions, the European Union (in order to discourage asylum shopping) has a rule that says an asylum claim must be filed in the first country a would-be ‘refugee’ reaches in Europe.  If the migrant moves on to another country (looking for a better deal), he/she must be returned to that first country.

This is the story from Dutch News:

A German court has refused to send a Somali asylum seeker back to the Netherlands, saying he runs the risk of receiving ‘inhumane treatment’, the NRC said on Saturday.

The man had lost his appeal for asylum in the Netherlands and then went to Germany, the NRC said.

The authorities there wanted to return him under the Dublin agreement, which states refugee applications must be dealt with the EU country a refugee first sets foot in.

However, a court in Darmstadt refused to do so, saying that it is not certain that asylum seekers in the Netherlands are given basic provisions such as food and a place to stay.

Germany:  Netherlands bad!

The court said that in the Netherlands refugees are not allowed to work nor are they given government support. ‘Human values cannot be qualified by asylum policy,’ the NRC quoted the court as saying.

The paper says it is extremely rare for a EU country to use this reasoning to refuse to deport an asylum seeker to another European country.

Refugees are provided with food and shelter while their claim for asylum is being processed. However, if their claim fails and they refuse to go home, they can be evicted from refugee centres and left to fend for themselves.

My answer to Germany—-keep him yourself then!

Sudanese refugee up a tree to demand “right” to stay in Germany

This story is nearly a month old, so we presume she is out of her tree now, but couldn’t quickly find any news account of that.

From Russia Today (last month) Hat tip: ‘pungentpeppers’

A Sudanese asylum seeker has moved to the treetops in central Berlin after local authorities evicted her refugee camp. Police forbid residents bringing her food or water, but Napuli Langa vows to stay aloft till death in a fight for her dignity.

Wrapped in an anorak and a blanket, Langa, 25, has already spent three days on branches atop a tree in Berlin’s Kreuzberg neighborhood, just walking distance from main tourist landmarks.

Hoping that weak and exhausted she will sooner or later jump down, police have spread out cushions on the ground. But Langa does not seem to be giving up.

“I am happy protesting for my rights and as long my energy can take me, I will stay here,” Langa shouted to RUPTLY’s crew under the tree.

She has vowed to expose what she says are the “colonial” methods Germany uses in treating refugees and asylum seekers from outside Europe and, particularly, Africa.

In fact, as we have reported many times, the German government is probably Europe’s most “welcoming” government toward refugees and asylum seekers.    See our archive on Germany, here.

Germany overloaded with asylum seekers, tensions rise

The first thing I noticed in this Deutsche Welle “news” story is the number of times the reporter was able to get the words “right-wing” into one report!  Check it out yourself (for a chuckle)!

Readers, we report refugee and asylum news from around the world so that you know how far ahead some countries are with their own cultural/demographic decline and the political backlash coming from the citizens.  And, we have a substantial readership particularly in Europe, Canada and Australia.

Sweden is probably the farthest along in its demographic “change,” but Germany is trying hard to catch up as it, along with Sweden, welcomes large numbers of so-called asylum seekers across their borders.   Germany has invited 10,000 Syrians to enter Germany this year on top of the Afghans and other Middle Easterners flowing over their borders.  Most of the illegal aliens are economic migrants and will have no legitimate claim to asylum.

Pro Asyl’s Burkhardt: Silence the “right-wing propaganda” and allow only our socialist propaganda. So, who are the real fascists?

The Deutsche Welle “news” is really no new news, just a rehash and a call to silence the “propaganda” of the “right-wing!”  Emphasis is mine:

In the Bavarian city of Fichtelberg on a Saturday afternoon in January 2014, a group of men pushed their way into a refugee shelter. Dressed in black and partially masked, the intruders stopped at the stairwell and began yelling, according to sources quoted in the local newspaper “Nordbayerische Kurier.”

Nobody in the shelter, however, understood what the men were shouting as most of the refugees had just arrived in Bavaria and spoke no German. After the shouting, the black-clad group quickly left the refugee shelter.

Arson attacks, broken windows and racists slurs painted on buildings are among the rising number of right-wing acts of aggression against refugee shelters across Germany. The Federal Criminal Police (BKA) registered 59 right-wing offenses in 2013, more then twice as many as the year before.

Fear that the “right-wingers” will join forces with the regular German folks!  Eeek!

The German government also said it is concerned by the BKA statistics. “The right-wing scene turned noticeably against asylum seekers in 2013,” Pamela Müller-Niese, a spokeswoman for the Federal Ministry of the Interior, said in a statement.

The number of asylum seekers in 2013 reached its highest level since 1999. A total of some 127,000 people from Syria, Afghanistan and other hot spots in the world fled to Germany last year. To accommodate them, numerous cities have converted empty schools and military barracks into temporary housing.

In many places, however, residents feel ignored, and right-wing extremists have taken advantage of the situation by joining anti-asylum protests in their neighborhood. Such was the case in Berlin-Hellersdorf. The situation there became so tense last year that refugees required police protection to enter their housing units.

“The far-right is trying to exploit the mood in many parts of the population,” said Günter Burkhardt. “There’s an attempt to connect to the middle of society.” [This Deutsche-Welle “news” story is designed to warn-off the middle of society from any association with the “far-right.”—-ed]

Interior Ministry spokeswoman Müller-Niese also said there were concerns about the right-wing appealing to more of society by hyping allegations of “asylum abuse.”

Half of Germans say the country already has too many asylum seekers, according to Funke.

The real fascists in Germany are those who want to silence the people!

Pro Asyl‘s Burkhardt called on politicians to take responsibility for curbing the right-wing’s populist propaganda in Germany. He said there needs to be a clear commitment to the basic right of asylum and corresponding measures that allow asylum seekers to integrate in Germany.

Burkhardt goes on to say, give the asylum seekers apartments and jobs which I suspect is the thing that will infuriate the “middle of society” the most, and it will attract more migrants to Germany!

Ireland to take 90 Syrians this year

From thejournal.ie:

IRELAND WILL ACCEPT 90 Syrian refugees this year, the government has told the United Nation’s refugee agency.

Most will be resettled from host countries in the Middle East and North African region. According to the Department of Justice, they could possibly come from over-populated camps in Lebanon and Jordan.

[…..]

Earlier this week, the UK agreed to take up to 500 refugees after a battle with the UNHCR for not signing on to its ‘quota’ programme.

Check out this interesting graphic accompanying the story.  I guess that message that the US has agreed to take 2,000 (from the article about US Rep. Pascrell wanting 15,000) hasn’t reached the UN.  Frankly, I didn’t think the 2,000 was a done deal yet because the security screening will take a long time and we are already 4 months into the fiscal year.

Crazy Germany!  FBI: Who are these Syrians moving into Europe?
