Boston Globe headline captures it: ‘Supreme Court hands Obama crushing defeat on immigration’

The decision was handed down just a few minutes ago. I know that all of you are as thrilled — and relieved — as I am.

Here was my first statement to the national media:

“The ruling today is a win for American workers and the Constitution. The court’s decision means that immigration policy — including the power to issue work permits — still belongs to the people through their elected officials in Congress and that a president cannot unilaterally change that policy.
“U.S. citizens and legal immigrants in this country have been spared having to face direct job and wage competition from millions of illegal migrants for whom Pres. Obama had promised to open up every job in America.”

Several other federal court decisions have blocked Obama’s DAPA amnesty since just before it was to take effect a little more than a year ago.

The Supreme Court granted the Obama Administration a hearing on its insistence that the high court overturn the injunction that was preventing millions of illegal migrants from being granted work permits and other benefits.

A tie vote in the Supreme Court means that lower court rulings stand. So, this was a tremendous victory for all of us.

Keep in mind that the merits of the case by Texas and 25 other states against the DAPA amnesty have still not been ruled on by the lower courts which have merely issued a temporary injunction. But now, the country can breathe easier knowing that millions of illegal migrants are not legally competing for every U.S. job while the courts move forward on the merits.

Practically speaking, though, there is little chance that the case on the merits will be decided before Pres. Obama leaves office.

We will continue to provide you updates on this massively important issue, just as we have from the beginning.

Be prepared for big pro-amnesty demonstrations as Election 2016 approaches…

How do we know? Because last fall when we attended the Georgetown Law School pow-wow here, one of the leading NO Borders advocates in America, Marielena Hincapie, promised us as much should the Supreme Court rule against them!

Insanity! US took 500 illegal aliens off Malta's hands in one year

This invasion of Europe story leads to the invasion of America!
The story makes me sick. I have been writing about it for EIGHT years. George Bush started it and of course Obama continued this abrogation of international refugee law.
Here is one of the earliest posts I wrote (from 2008) about Bush’s Ambassador to Malta who first broke the law!

In just one recent year, 500 ILLEGAL aliens made their way from North Africa across the Mediterranean to the island nation of Malta. Then, to help Malta out, our US State Department said ‘presto-chango’ and these ECONOMIC migrants who had launched from lawless Libya and elsewhere in North Africa magically became refugees and they now live in your towns in America somewhere! And, this has been going on for eight years!
Legitimate claims for asylum are supposed to be made in the first safe country where the LEGITIMATE refugee lands—in this case Malta (making them Europe’s problem). Are we asking Europe to take some of our illegal alien Mexicans? Of course not!
Do you understand the full import of what this means—any of the phony asylum seekers reaching Europe could be simply moved to America now that the precedent has been set.

Some 500 immigrants who arrived in Malta in search for a better life have been resettled in the United States of America between March 2015 and March 2016. This information emerged in a reply to a Parliamentary Question. Minister for Home Affairs Carmelo Abela explained that 355 out of the 503 were Somali, 138 came from Eritrea, 17 from Sudan, two from Ethiopia and one from Iraq.

The resettlement exercise was possible following an agreement between the Maltese authorities, the American government and UNHCR.

You know it makes me so mad when I know that Congress, if it had the will, could do so much to reform this program with a few simple fixes that could make it safer and not so insane until real reform could begin. Simply disallowing this lawbreaking would be a good start!

Israel to raise the height of its border fence

For new readers we have a category here at RRW entitled, ‘Israel and refugees,‘ although there has been so much news from the ‘Invasion of Europe’ lately we haven’t said much about the smaller invasion of Israel.
Here is news from Breitbart that could be used for guidance for Trump’s wall:

TEL AVIV – Israel is set to raise the height of its fence along the Egyptian border in an effort to keep out migrants, defense officials said Tuesday.

The fence will be raised an additional meter, making it six meters (19.7 feet) high. This follows an increase in African migrants entering the country over the past year.

The army said that a series of additional prevention methods will be put in place to reduce the number of illegal border crossings.

The current fence, which was built between 2010-2014, has been largely successful in preventing migrant incursions, the IDF said. In 2014, only 14 people made it across the border, compared with 12,000 in 2010. However, in 2015, some 200 migrants made it over the fence, often with the use of ladders.

Pope's publicity stunt at Texas border timed to influence US election

Make no mistake, Pope Francis is interjecting himself into the 2016 Presidential election by walking with illegal aliens on the Mexican side of the border who want to get into the US.
This is a direct assault by the Catholic Church on Donald Trump and any other Republicans (including the Governor of Texas) who say they want to close the US border with Mexico.
How dare he!
From the Dallas Morning News about his walk with migrants he calls refugees.
They are not refugees! People escaping poverty or crime are not legally refugees, but the Pope and the NO Borders Left are purposefully confusing the terminology. They want all migrants-on-the-move to be called REFUGEES who are then entitled to protection and welfare.

In his first speech to the church hierarchy over the weekend in Mexico City, Francis wasted little time in addressing the plight of migrants. “So many families are separated,” he said, “and integration into the supposedly ‘promised land’ is not always as easy as some believe.”

From the beginning of his pontificate, Francis, himself the son of immigrants, has made the treatment of migrants and refugees worldwide a priority. His first travel outside Rome was to the Italian island of Lampedusa, where boatloads of asylum-seekers from the Middle East and Africa had been landing.

Catholic officials have said the pope’s original plan was to cross the U.S.-Mexico border during his visit as a symbolic gesture of unity, but security and logistical barriers put an end to that idea. U.S. authorities were fearful that such a move would bring an onslaught of people across the border.

The closest Francis will get to the United States is about 50 yards from El Paso.

Across the river and through the fences, a limited group of “Francis VIPs,” including unauthorized immigrants seeking asylum in the United States, will assemble along the border and await the pope’s blessing.

But, even as Obama’s State Department seeks to involve the United Nations in choosing Central Americans (and not just the ‘children’ now but whole families) as ‘refugees’ destined for your towns, the southern border invasion of illegals is underway and if the rate of arrival for the first three months of FY2016 continues throughout the fiscal year, 2016 will see an even greater arrival rate than the disastrous 2014 summer!

For new readers: our interest in the Unaccompanied Minors issue is because some of the same federal resettlement contractors that resettle refugees get paid to take care of the ‘children’ too. We have a very large archive going back many years on the issue. Since they were originally referred to as ‘Unaccompanied Minors’ that is how those posts are archived here.

Here is a press release from the US Customs and Border Protection website that must have been released since January 1 (but I see no date). It begins:

“Out of an abundance of caution, the Office of Refugee Resettlement at HHS has begun a process to expand its temporary capacity to house unaccompanied children. This is a prudent step to ensure that the Border Patrol can continue its vital national security mission to prevent illegal migration, trafficking, and protect the borders of the United States.

As we have highlighted over the last few months, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have noted an increase in the number of unaccompanied children (UAC) and family units apprehended along the southwest border. The entire administration has been closely monitoring these current trends and coordinating across the whole of government to ensure an effective response to any changes in migration flows.

That is a stunning downplay of the numbers they then present!

Numbers below reflect Fiscal Years 2009-2015, FY 2016 (October 1, 2015 – December 31, 2015)

Note that the last number (for 2016) reflects ONLY three months (from Oct. 1 through Dec. 31), the first three months of FY2016. Let’s take Guatemala for instance: 17,057 illegal aliens arrived in the US in the whole of FY2014, yet in the FIRST THREE MONTHS of FY2016, 6,474 have already arrived. That is one quarter of the fiscal year. Do the math! If that rate continues, over 25,000 will arrive in FY2016 from Guatemala alone!
Check the numbers for the three Central American countries and see that the numbers could be greater in 2016 than in 2014. No wonder the Obama Administration has announced its new illegal expansion of the Refugee Admissions Program! Are they desperate to head off the new invasion in this all important Presidential election year?
