Germany: Seven million dollar hotel for migrants; Somalis ungrateful for German hospitality

Invasion of Europe continues as Germany falls all over itself trying to convince the world what good people they are!

The first part of this story is bad enough—opulent hotel bought by city of Cologne (site of those riots about ten days ago) for a refugee shelter for mostly Muslim asylum seekers.  But it is ten paragraphs down before we get to the part that should make your head explode!

From NBC News (emphasis is mine):

COLOGNE, Germany — With its wood-paneled piano bar and luxurious spa, the four-star Bonotel assures visitors paying up to $300 per night that it meets the “international standard of a first-class hotel.”

But starting next year, the hotel’s marble-and-mirrored lobby and “quiet, peaceful ambience” will play host not to indulgent travelers but desperate asylum seekers.

Germany’s fourth-largest city spent almost $7 million to buy the Bonotel this summer. Its doors will soon be shut and its 93 opulent rooms filled with asylum seekers, a move underscoring how Europe’s economic powerhouse has been overwhelmed by an influx of people seeking a better life amid a continent-wide border crisis.

According to U.N. figures, Germany received 109,600 applications for asylum last year — the most of any country in the world. The U.S. was second, with 84,400.

Read on and learn that German employees will be losing their hotel jobs.

Unbelievable!  Somali asylum-seeker who came illegally to Europe across the Mediterranean has the audacity to say that the German government isn’t giving him enough stuff!  And, WTH, look at the medical costs he is foisting on the German taxpayer.

Mubarak, a Somali refugee who like others at the center [a different center in Cologne as the opulent hotel is not yet open—ed] declined to give his last name citing fears of retribution from German authorities for criticizing them publicly, told NBC News that conditions are so poor he has become disillusioned with his new home.

“I wanted to get to a place where I could start a different life,” he said, recounting his 18-month journey through African deserts and a treacherous voyage across the Mediterranean Sea — a route which has claimed the lives of more than 3,200 people this year. “But I don’t believe in Germany any more. The people in Germany are good to us, but we need more help.” [So if they survived the illegal boat trip across the Mediterranean they somehow deserve more welfare handouts?—ed]

He shows a doctor’s note from when he arrived in Cologne. It confirms that he suffered from tuberculosis, hepatitis B and post-traumatic stress disorder. It also states that because of illnesses, his living conditions should be improved.

But nothing has changed. Months later, he still shares a room with three others. Four metal bed frames with thin mattresses line the wall. Another stands upright in the corner, in case someone else needs to sleep here, although there is barely any floor space left. The communal bathrooms are at the end of the hallway.  [Oh, boo-hoo!—ed]

“We live like animals, not like people,” said Maruf, a Somali roommate.

Just watch, the next thing we know Mubarak and Maruf will be given a room at the Bonotel!

Me thinks it’s time for another demonstration in Cologne.

Sweden: Overweight Somali women in western countries causing increase in some diseases

So, I’m guessing that Sweden doesn’t have its own version of the food police. No Michelle Obama?

Here is one more example of the extra costs related to admitting certain ethnic groups to countries where views on health are diametrically opposed to what it is where they came from.

There are exceptions! Defying the stereotype, Swedish Somali model obviously did assimilate! http://beauty-around.com/en/tops/item/965-most-beautiful-somalian-women

From Science Index:

Physical inactivity presents a major public health challenge and is estimated to cause six to ten percent of the major non-communicable diseases. Studies show that immigrants, especially women, have an increased risk of non-communicable diseases compared to ethnic Swedes. Somali immigrant women have increased rates of overweight and obesity, low fitness levels and low levels of cardiorespiratory fitness compared to non-immigrant women. These findings suggest that Somali women are at increased risk of developing lifestyle-related diseases. Few studies explore determinants of physical activity among Somali women. The aim of this study was to explore Somali women’s views and experiences of physical activity after migration to Sweden. A qualitative focused ethnographic approach was used in this study.

Check it out, there are other articles about problems with Female Genital Mutilation, the problems with lack of Vitamin D (due to being covered all the time) and there is even an article about Somali men in Minnesota not getting exercise.

Another Somali woman who dares to challenge Islam is of course Ayan Hirsi Ali.  Wouldn’t you think she would be embraced by young western women instead of being vilified?

Could Congolese refugees bring Ebola to America?

That is a possibility presented by Aaron Klein writing at World Net Daily this week, here.  Hat tip: several readers.

We briefly noted the fact that Ebola, although supposedly a different strain than the one making the news, is present in DR Congo.

And, we are bringing a huge number of Congolese refugees (DR Congo) to America at the UNHCR’s urging—50,000 by 2019, see our post yesterday.

We admitted 4,540 Congolese refugees to the US in FY2014 which ended on Sept. 30th, 2014  (go here, map is incorrect, scroll down to table).

However, I think a greater long-term threat to America is what we reported yesterday—Congolese women in need of mental health treatment raising children in some impoverished home in your town or city.

Remember readers! Refugee health treatment is the responsibility of your local health departments!  See our health issues category here for what other diseases and health problems (including mental health) you are responsible for.

From World Net Daily which is becoming the go-to major internet news source*** for refugee news (something we are very grateful to see):

Since an outbreak of Ebola hit the Democratic Republic of the Congo in July, the Obama administration has brought into the U.S. at least 1,900 refugees from the disease-stricken nation, WND has learned.

Required medical screening for refugees may not detect all diseases. The mandatory blood and urine tests for all refugees would not detect Ebola.

The strain of Ebola found in the Congo is slightly different from the virus that has been ravaging West Africa. Researchers have concluded the Congolese outbreak is not connected to the epidemic in West Africa.

The U.S. refugee program this year is on pace to resettle 70,000 citizens, including a limit for the fiscal year of 2014 of 14,000 from Africa, with the State Department giving priority to Congolese refugees.

Since July, at least 1,900 Congolese refugees have been resettled within the U.S., according to statistics provided by the State Department.

A report from the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration shows 944 refugees were admitted from the Congo in July; 628 in August and 338 in September, for a total of 1,910 Congolese refugees.

The exact number of arrivals from the Congo for this month are not yet published. However, the total number of October arrivals so far from the region of Africa, according to the State Department, is 934, with most likely coming from the Congo.

The Congo has had its own outbreak of Ebola that started in late-July reportedly after a hunter brought home an infected bush animal carcass. Since then, 49 people have died in the Congo.

There is much more, read it all.

Did ‘Unaccompanied alien children’ bring Enterovirus68 with them?

Update October 5th:  The Conservative Treehouse has been working on making the connection between the arrival of the hordes of Central America “children” and the nationwide outbreak of Enterovirus68.   I’m not convinced the evidence is conclusive yet, but hope the many excellent blogger/researchers out there continue working on this important question.

I heard a Fox News commentator briefly ask that question more than a week ago, so I’m always on the look-out for some major news outlet even hinting at the possibility.  I haven’t seen it yet. Have you?  However, lots of Americans are asking that question because the timing of the rare virus outbreak surely raises suspicions.  And, if the mainstream media is mum, the alternative media sure isn’t.

We mentioned another report alleging that the “children” did bring the sickness, here, a few weeks ago.

Here is one more story, this time from the Chicago Examiner:

Enterovirus 68, the respiratory infection that has taken the nation by storm, is spreading unlike previous outbreaks of the virus, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as reported by the New York Times. The latest report on the disease by the CDC claims that nearly 500 cases of the virus’ infection have been confirmed as of this week. Medical experts have said that the real number of Enterovirus 68 cases is most likely much greater because many with symptoms have not been tested.

Here is a map from last week about the spread of Entervirus68. It is the most recent map I found. http://flashnewsnetwork.blogspot.com/2014/09/enterovirus-8-new-states-added-to-list.html

On Friday, ABC News reported that there are three more cases of Enterovirus 68 at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Additionally, there have been four deaths very possibly linked to Enterovirus 68. The threat of the infection and its devastation on its victims seem to be growing daily.

Though the White House, the CDC, and the major news outlets aren’t making the obvious connection to the recent reports of immigration and massive acceptance of refugee children along the United States’ southern border, it is logically on the minds of Americans near and far. The refugee crisis that took hold of the nation this past summer caused political riffs between liberal Democrats and conservative Republicans. Politically, Democrats – lead by the likes of Rep. Nancy Pelosi – insisted that accepting the throngs of children into the United States was the right thing to do. Such persons have become more increasingly quiet on the topic as the spread of childhood diseases and more has swept the country.  [These are not “refugees.”  They will attempt to be, but aren’t yet!—ed]

It has been reported that many of these children who entered the United States via the liberally-promoted refugee barrage at the border were allowed to enter the country without any health screening whatsoever – even though it is logical to believe these people could be bringing in diseases from the far corners of the globe. Furthermore, Joe Walsh on WIND-AM talk radio in Chicago insists that public schools have been ordered to accept these children – from throughout the world – without any health screenings being given to the children entering our nation’s schools.

About that map.  Those who claim there is no connection between the throngs of Unaccompanied minors (see the list of states where they have been located) and the troubling virus might point to that map and ask why then has Texas not been hit?

This border surge by the “children” has been coming for a long time!

All of our coverage of ‘Unaccompanied minors’ is here.  The illegal alien children have been coming across our southern border for years, so our archive extends back to 2008.  One of our earliest posts on the “children” was a 2008 story where Catholic Charities in Virginia was accused of obtaining an abortion for a teenaged (unaccompanied) Guatemalan girl in their care, here.

However, for those paying attention, Don Barnett writing at the Center for Immigration Studies warned of the potential for a huge problem with the ‘unaccompanied minors’ here as early as 2004.  It took only the right combination of a wrong-headed law at the disposal of greedy church groups fanning the flames and a President willing to throw open our borders to bring us to this present irreversible crisis.

Feds won’t say if Ebola patient is Liberian national

But, the Liberian community of Dallas apparently thinks so.

Update October 2:  See Center for Immigration Studies on the Liberian Ebola patient—a visa mistake!

Let’s send in Senator Jack Reed, Liberian defender par excellence to tell us the full story.

Reed was thrilled recently to get Obama to once again extend Temporary Protected Status for Liberians in America who were given TEMPORARY  refugee status here over a decade ago for a civil war that ended in 2003 and who should have been sent back to Liberia by now.   Kind of crazy that they can stay here longer due to Ebola back “home,” but it seems that we let their fellow Liberians just fly in for visits from West Africa?

Can you imagine what the medical treatment of this visitor is going to cost American taxpayers!

Liberian Stanley Gaye of the Liberian Community Association of Dallas-Fort Worth wants to know more about Ebola patient believed to be Liberian national. Photo: http://www.christianchronicle.org/article/liberians-join-texas-congregation-in-prayer-for-doctor-church-member-battling-ebola

See Breitbart for the AP story:

DALLAS (AP) — The first case of Ebola diagnosed in the U.S. has been confirmed in a man who recently traveled from Liberia to Dallas, sending chills through the area’s West African community whose leaders urged caution to prevent spreading the virus.

The unidentified man was critically ill and has been in isolation at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital since Sunday, federal health officials said Tuesday. They would not reveal his nationality or age. [Political correctness completely run amok!–ed]

[….]

Stanley Gaye, president of the Liberian Community Association of Dallas-Fort Worth, said the 10,000-strong Liberian population in North Texas is skeptical of the CDC’s assurances because Ebola has ravaged their country.

“We’ve been telling people to try to stay away from social gatherings,” Gaye said at a community meeting Tuesday evening. Large get-togethers are a prominent part of Liberian culture.

“We need to know who it is so that they (family members) can all go get tested,” Gaye told The Associated Press. “If they are aware, they should let us know.”

There is more…..
