Report: Members of Islamic terrorist organizations coming across Texas border

But, this is what I would like to know:  Where are they now?  Incarcerated? Deported, or in asylum court telling some fabricated sob story with the help of a gullible immigration lawyer?

A top Texas law enforcement agency says border security organizations have apprehended several members of known Islamist terrorist organizations crossing the southern border in recent years, and while a surge of officers to the border has slowed the flow of drugs and undocumented immigrants, it’s costing the state tens of millions of dollars.

In a report to Texas elected officials, the state Department of Public Safety says border security agencies have arrested several Somali immigrants crossing the southern border who are known members of al-Shabab, the terrorist group that launched a deadly attack on the Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya, and Al-Itihaad al-Islamiya, another Somalia-based group once funded by Osama bin Laden. Another undocumented immigrant arrested crossing the border was on multiple U.S. terrorism watch lists, the report says.

Authorities also apprehended immigrants who said they were members of terrorist organizations in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

The department said it had come into contact in recent years with “special interest aliens,” who come from countries with known ties to terrorists or where terrorist groups thrive. Those arrested include Afghans, Iranians, Iraqis, Syrians, Libyans and Pakistanis. In all, immigrants from 35 countries in Asia and the Middle East have been arrested over the past few years in the Rio Grande Valley.

Reader Joanne sent this Op-ed by Paul Sperry at Investor’s Business Daily that includes this stunning information.  I had no idea that we had that many ‘Americans’ fighting with ISIS (and returning).

 

“The British press is reporting that IS has threatened to release a huge wave of migrants from Libya across the Mediterranean disguised as refugees to cause chaos in Europe.

Who’s to say they aren’t setting a similar immigration bomb for America?

Authorities can’t even get a handle on homegrown IS jihadists who are already in America. Why would we risk adding so many potential jihadists from abroad to the already overloaded terrorist threat matrix?

The FBI director says he’s got open cases against IS suspects in every state but Alaska. More than 100 American Muslims have hooked up with the vicious terror group in Syria or Iraq, and at least a dozen fighters already have returned to America and may be forming sleeper cells to attack the homeland.

These suspects are hard for agents, who already are overstretched, to monitor. They’ve discarded their Islamic beards and garb and have blended into society. Analysts suspect some may have even infiltrated the military and government.

While America ushers in Islamic immigrants, Europe is pulling up the welcome mat.”

So, why can’t Congress fix this immediately by revoking passports of anyone who has left the country to join ISIS?

In Sweden, job training program may be ISIS recruitment opportunity

Sigh!  Sweden (apparently using a Marie Harf counter-terrorism job training program) runs into a little problem!  The program is being shut down while authorities investigate if the unemployed ‘refugees’ were being recruited for ISIS.

Sweden has cancelled a job training program for new immigrants following reports that the program coaches were recruiting people for Takfiri terrorist groups.

“We have been alerted by participants that coaches have tried to recruit them to terrorist organizations,” Patrik Svensson, spokesman for Sweden’s National Labor Agency, said on Friday.

Svensson added that the agency had informed Sweden’s security service about the suspicious activities in the training program.

According to the Swedish official, the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group might be behind the recruitment.

The program was initiated in 2010 to tackle the high unemployment rate among new immigrants in Sweden.

The news comes from the Somali capital of America—Minneapolis!  And, LOL! one of three cities that the Obama Administration touts as an example of how Muslims are happily settled in!

Mall of America officials increased security on Saturday after a terror group linked to al-Qaida released an online video that appears to call for an attack on the popular shopping destination.

Islamic terrorist group al-Shabaab specifically named the Mall of America, the West Edmonton Mall in Alberta and London’s Oxford Street in the more than hourlong video that was being circulated on Twitter.

Federal law enforcement officials told CBS News that they are investigating the video.

Mall of America officials released a statement Saturday saying that they were aware of the video that mentions the megamall and shows an image of it and its GPS coordinates.

“We will continue to monitor events with the help of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies,” according to the statement.

The video posted Saturday shows six minutes of graphic images celebrating the Westgate Mall attack. Near the end of the video, a masked man wearing a camouflage jacket appears on screen.

“If just a handful of mujahedeen fighters could bring Kenya to a complete standstill for nearly a week then imagine what a dedicated mujahedeen in the West could do to the American or Jewish-owned shopping centers across the world?” he asks.

Come on mainstream media—you are fixating now on the Syrian Muslims who might come to the US—but never focus on the number of Somalis we are admitting every single month!

For new readers (and hopefully media types!) 

Look at the numbers!    Here is our post which chronicles the over 100,000 Somalis we have admitted as refugees to your towns and cities. Then be sure to see that in 2008, the State Department uncovered widespread fraud in Somali family reunification (P-3 program)—thousands, possibly 20,000 Somalis, got into the US by lying on refugee applications.

And, then see that in FY2014 we admitted 9,000 additional Somalis to the US.   This is huge pool of potential jihadists!

In the first 4 months of FY2015 we admitted 3,536 new Somali refugees to America!  That is 884 a month!  If that large stream continues it will put us at over 10,000 Somalis in FY2015!

Al-Shabaab must feel confident that they have operatives in the US Somali community.

An after thought!  Don’t you think the timing of this video release is interesting—right after the Obama/Biden ‘hug a Muslim’ conference.  It is almost as if the terrorists are making fun of the O-man!

Texas: Somali sentenced for falsifying asylum application; feds keep terrorism connection secret

We told you about the fraudulent asylum claim on February 7th, but thanks to Creeping Sharia for finding a longer article on the sentencing at My SanAntonio that contains some information I found most interesting.

Here is My San Antonio:

A Somali man was sentenced in a San Antonio courtroom Thursday to 15 years in federal prison for lying to get into the U.S., as well as a never-before-disclosed admission that he had helped a terrorist group.

Abdinassir Mohamud Ibrahim crossed the US border in 2007 at Hidalgo and was granted asylum (refugee status) and “resettled” in Emporia, KS.

Abdinassir Mohamud Ibrahim, 43, previously admitted that he lied his way into the country or left out damaging details — such as his relationship to two people who made international headlines because of their reported ties to terrorist groups.

But the FBI, Border Patrol, acting U.S. Attorney Richard Durbin and a national security official disclosed Thursday that Ibrahim secretly also pleaded guilty in July to sending e-mails in support of al-Shabab and providing money to a friend affiliated with that terrorist group. The charges were made public at his sentencing Thursday, but officials made no mention of his cooperation that led to them keeping the details secret for more than six months.

The affidavit said Ayrow was the former leader of al-Shabab and was killed in a U.S. airstrike in 2008. Aweys was affiliated with al-Shabab and al-Ittihad al-Islami, which the U.S. has placed on a list of specially designated global terrorist groups.

Now look at this!

Ibrahim was granted refugee status in the U.S. and resettled in Emporia, Kansas, after coming through Hidalgo in May 2007. But the status was granted based on fraudulent information, the affidavit said.

Emporia, KS connection

If you have been reading RRW since we began writing, you may remember that there was a huge problem with Somalis in Emporia, KS in 2007, most of whom had been lured there by jobs at Tyson Foods.  Overnight it seemed Emporia was flooded with Somali refugees.  If I recall correctly there wasn’t even a contracted resettlement office there.

There was such a public outcry that Tyson Foods actually shut the main part of the plant down and moved the Somalis elsewhere.  We wrote about what was happening for months and created a special category, here, just for news from Emporia.

As a matter of fact, Bobbi Mlynar writing at the Emporia Gazette on November 28, 2007 told the citizens there about our refugee problem in Hagerstown, MD and pretty accurately described what was the origin of RRW.

So back to Abdinassir Mohamud Ibrahim—there really was a liar (a phony refugee) and prospective terror sympathizer living in Emporia at the time citizens there were agitated!

One more thing, Ibrahim did not come in the usual resettlement process, he entered the country illegally by crossing the border in Texas and asked for and received ASYLUM.

How many more Ibrahims are out there?
