St. Louis: Bosnian refugees arrested for conspiring to help ISIS

So it isn’t just our Somali refugees thumbing their noses at the country that gave them a home, now it’s Bosnians in Missouri, Illinois and New York.

Before we report the news, just a reminder that it was the Clinton Administration that admitted tens of thousands of Bosnian Muslims to the US in the wake of his phony-baloney war.   Many initially went to Iowa to work for Clinton’s pals in the meat packing industry including Tyson Foods!   We learned about the Clinton gift of cheap labor to BIG MEAT here (in an agricultural publication) in 2008.

As Clinton’s Bosnians make the news…refugee contractor Lavinia Limon as she appeared in 1996 when she oversaw the resettlement of tens of thousands of Bosnian Muslims to the US.

Here is the Washington Times on the news that broke yesterday (hat tip: ‘Pungentpeppers’):

ST. LOUIS (AP) – Six Bosnian immigrants have been accused of sending money and equipment to terrorists oversees, including fighters with the Islamic State group and al-Qaida in Iraq, the U.S. attorney’s office announced Friday.

An indictment unsealed Friday in St. Louis said the defendants donated money themselves and in some cases collected funds from others in the U.S. and sent the donations overseas. It says two of the defendants used some of the money to buy U.S. military uniforms, firearms accessories, tactical gear and other equipment, which was shipped to people in Turkey and Saudi Arabia who forwarded the supplies to terrorists.

The supplies and money eventually made their way to fighters in Syria, Iraq and elsewhere, according to the indictment. Money also was sent to support family members of people fighting in Iraq and elsewhere, the indictment says. All of the defendants knew where the money and supplies were going, the indictment says.

The indictment alleges the conspiracy began no later than May 2013 and that the defendants used email, phones and social media websites including Facebook to communicate using coded words, such as “brothers,” ”lions” and “Bosnian brothers.”

All six people who are charged are natives of Bosnia who were living in the U.S. legally. Three are naturalized citizens; the other three had either refugee or legal resident status, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.  [By the way, when I began writing this blog more than 7 years ago, that ‘r’ word would never be mentioned, they would only be immigrants if even that word was used, times are changing!—ed]

The indictment names Ramiz Zijad Hodzic, 40, his wife, Sedina Unkic Hodzic, 35, and Armin Harcevic, 37, all of St. Louis County; Nihad Rosic, 26 of Utica, New York; Mediha Medy Salkicevic, 34, of Schiller Park, Illinois; and Jasminka Ramic, 42 of Rockford, Illinois.  [Utica is the UN-designated Town that Loves Refugees—ed]

All face charges of conspiring to provide material support and resources to terrorists and with providing material support to terrorists. Rosic and Ramiz Hodzic are also charged with conspiring to kill and maim people in a foreign country.

More on how St. Louis has become the largest Bosnian community outside of Bosnia itself!

The International Institute helped make it happen.  That is the same refugee contractor that recently made a vow to create in St. Louis the largest ethnic diversified city in the nation by 2020.  We told you about that here.

From St. Louis Bosnian:

According to the International Institute of St. Louis, which sponsored the largest early wave of immigrants, about 50,000 people of Bosnian descent – either immigrants or their American-born children – have settled in the St. Louis area.

About the photo and just a little tying-up of loose ends:

The International Institute is a subcontractor of one of the big nine federal refugee contractors—US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI)—which is 99% funded by you, the US taxpayer.  Its CEO is Lavinia Limon who (surprise!) headed up Bill Clinton’s federal Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) during the big Bosnian flow into the US.   Her former VP at USCRI, Eskinder Negash, has, until his recent resignation, headed the ORR!—-a demonstration of the federal contractor revolving door at its finest!

Malta Independent: Europe ‘seriously underestimating possibility of IS militants infiltrating Italy or Malta’

No surprise….

At Davos, former Libyan finance minister warns that IS fighters may be in the refugee flow to Europe.

News from Davos! at the Malta Independent:

“Islamic State militants have taken over practically the whole area from where migrant crossings are launched and are effectively running the whole show, a prominent Libyan politician has warned.

Speaking to Italian journalists during the Davos World Economic Forum, former Libyan Finance Minister Ali Tarhouni, who now serves as President of the Constituent Assembly of Libya, warned that the EU is underestimating the risk of IS militants infiltrating Europe’s shores hidden among refugees.”

Read on, there is much more.

Remember readers!  The US State Department each year takes hundreds of the illegal alien boat people who arrive on Malta from Libya and other places in North Africa to the US as refugees.  See the latest here.  See our entire seven-year-old Malta archive here.

US Joint Chiefs Chairman Dempsey: we need to worry about security with ‘refugee’ migration to Europe

More in our ‘Invasion of Europe’ series….

Dempsey (right) in Rome on Monday. Refugee migration a topic of concern.

From Stars and Stripes yesterday:

NAPLES, Italy — The U.S. Joint Chiefs chairman and Italian officials said Monday that Washington and Rome share concerns about the flood of migrants into Italy from the Middle East and Africa amid heightened terrorism fears in Europe.

IOM spokeman Joel Millman: Move along, nothing to see! Just poor refugees, no evidence of terrorists among them. Photo: http://www.iom.int/cms/en/sites/iom/home/news-and-views/media-contacts.html

The U.S. has warned in the past about the possible flow of foreign fighters through Europe’s southern borders as refugees flee Syria, Libya and other warring nations. European governments are increasingly worried about their own citizens who have traveled abroad to train with terrorist groups and then return home. The recent attacks in Paris and the thwarted attacks in Belgium have underscored those concerns.

Joint Chiefs chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey met with Italian Defense Minister Roberta Pinotti and Chief of Defense Adm. Luigi Binelli Mantelli on Monday. He was joined by U.S. Ambassador to Italy John R. Phillips.

The meeting included discussions about U.S. and allied operations against the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria.

Both sides expressed concern about foreign fighters, according to a Defense Department release, and Dempsey said countries that migrants are leaving should be a part of any discussion about extremism.

Federal refugee contractor, the International Organization for Migration (the agency that processes refugees abroad for resettlement to your US cities), downplays concerns.   You have to be a complete idiot to not assume Jihadists are using the refugee flow as cover to get into Europe.

More than 170,000 migrants have entered Italy in the past year, crossing the Mediterranean Sea. That’s roughly four times the number in 2013, according to estimates released last week by the International Organization for Migration.

But an IOM official said those trying to cross into Italy are refugees and asylum-seekers escaping war or impoverished conditions.

“We don’t have any reports of infiltration or what we think would be characterized as al-Qaida or something like that using this as a launching point,” spokesman Joel Millman said.

I wonder when (if!) Joint Chiefs Chairman Dempsey will speak about Muslim migration to America as a security threat?  Not holding my breath!

Senator Rand Paul has a lot of nerve to question French immigration policy!

How can a man whose own home town was traumatized by the arrest of Muslim refugee terrorists, and whose home state of Kentucky is a prime US State Department resettlement site for Somali, Iraqi, Burmese and soon-to-arrive Syrian Muslims have the audacity to tell the French that they need to re-think their immigration policy!

Frankly, I had a lot of hope for Senator Paul a few years ago when he raised some hell in Washington over how those two Iraqi (now convicted and in prison) terrorists slipped through Homeland Security’s hands (they lied on refugee applications, big surprise!) when one of them had fingerprints on IED fragments from Iraq.  He is the only Senator I have seen even make a peep about the Refugee Program.

Maybe I’m the only one who remembers Senator Paul’s brief stand!  See posts here here, here and here.   After 2013 (what! when 2016 was around the corner?) it sure sounds like Paul himself erased concerns for Kentucky and America right out of his mind!

Grover Norquist and Senator Rand Paul. For your own good Paul, get away from Norquist! Photo: http://www.frontpagemag.com/2014/dgreenfield/norquist-bloomberg-and-rand-paul-team-up-for-dont-call-it-amnesty/

Why doesn’t Senator Rand Paul get it—if he came out strongly right now about American security as it relates to LEGAL and illegal immigration he would have a shot at the Presidency in 2016!

This is the news that got me steamed this morning.  From CNN:

(CNN)Sen. Rand Paul thinks that France needs to rethink its immigration policy in light of the recent terror attacks.

The Kentucky Republican said Thursday that intelligence and surveillance tactics should still be employed to prevent terrorism, but argued “there’s some policy changes, though, that could be better.”

“I think also you got to secure your country. That means maybe that every Muslim immigrant that wishes to come to France shouldn’t have an open door to come,” he said on Sean Hannity’s radio show, referring to Islamic radicalization in Europe.

Paul suggested such policy be considered by France and “many of these other countries that had old colonies in predominantly Muslim areas.”

He does throw in a comment about our border security and student visas (big deal), but more than any other Senator in Washington, maybe even more than Senator Jeff Sessions (who doesn’t say much about refugees), Paul knows about the dangers and the cost of our refugee program.

Paul, a potential presidential contender, argued that “it’s also my concern here,” saying the U.S. border “is a danger to attack” and criticizing what he described as a poorly monitored student visa program.

See our extensive archive on Kentucky and its many problems with refugees, here.  Paul’s home town of Bowling Green was until recently a preferred resettlement site!‘  Sometime after 2009 it was taken off the list, why? because it is so overloaded with refugees that the feds and their resettlement contractors are now focusing on other Kentucky cities like Louisville (where they eat camels!).

About the photo and Senator Paul’s association with Grover Norquist.  In 2007 Norquist (Americans for Tax Reform) was promoting, with his inside-the-beltway Republicans, the idea of bringing in Iraqi refugees.  More recently Norquist and Suhail Kahn ginned-up a letter from a group of RINOs to bring in more refugees generally.

Jeb Bush signed that letter asking that we resettle MORE refugees.

Note to Paul—get away from Grover Norquist!
