Idaho: Why might Senator Crapo have sounded so squishy at recent town hall meetings?

We told you here the other day that Idaho Senator Mike Crapo was confronted at several August recess town hall meetings with a barrage of questions relating to the resettlement of third world refugees to Idaho.

We have no idea what sort of Senator Republican Mike Crapo has been for Idaho, or whether he would listen to constituents, but his cagey answers on refugee resettlement in Idaho suggest he might have more important factors influencing him than some very vocal voters.

He struck me as pretty squishy in his responses.
One of the primary things citizens in refugee resettlement target zones need to look into is how much (especially Republican) elected officials are getting from big business (or Chamber of Commerce) donors who have an interest in the importation of cheap labor.
Seems the folks in Idaho did a little digging on Crapo.

Remember we told you that a big meat packing plant is planned for a small town near Boise, here.  

Well, what do you know! it seems that one of Senator Crapo’s largest donors in recent years is one of the ‘agribusiness’ companies involved!

We have been chronicling for years the role BIG MEAT is playing in changing (colonizing) small town America—from Nebraska, to Kansas, to Iowa, to Colorado just to name a few states getting slammed.  LOL! from a meatpacker’s point of view, this is a great business model. They pay cheap wages for what amounts to slave labor and you, the taxpayer, subsidize the immigrant family with welfare payments (for food, housing, schooling and healthcare).
First, I know it is long, but I want you to see a January press release from the J.R. Simplot Company.  (Hat tip: a concerned citizen of Idaho)

J.R. Simplot Company and Caviness Beef Packers to Build New Idaho Beef Processing Plant

Amarillo,* Texas-based Caviness Beef Packers has formed a joint-venture with the J.R. Simplot Company to build a new Idaho beef processing plant near Kuna, Idaho.

Pending approval of permits from all necessary regulatory agencies, construction of the nearly 300,000 square foot plant would begin in spring 2015 with an expected fall 2016 opening.

The new joint-venture will operate under the name, CS Beef Packers, LLC. The joint venture is expected to invest $100 million to complete construction of the plant.

The plant is expected to process a maximum of 1,700 head per day, and could create up to 600 new jobs.**

The primary purpose of the plant will be to harvest cull cows and bulls from Northwest dairy farms and cattle ranches throughout the Intermountain West. The plant will also include hide and rendering processing and have the ability to process niche-fed beef programs.

Scott Simplot, J.R. Simplot Company chairman, said the new plant will be the first significant processing operation in the region, reducing the need for dairy farmers and ranchers to ship cattle out of the area for processing.

It’s estimated that there are more than 600,000 dairy cows and more than 600,000 beef cows in the region.

“This effort complements the area’s dairy industry including milk, cheese and yogurt processors,***” Simplot said. “Our company has farmed and ranched in the area for nearly a century and we’re excited to be a part of this joint-venture that will further guarantee the long-term success of the region’s dairy and beef industries.”

Caviness CEO Terry Caviness said Simplot and Caviness are both family-owned companies that complement each other. “Together we will bring significant strengths and expertise to this project,” Caviness said. “We look forward to being a valued partner to area ranchers and dairymen as we expand our footprint in the United States with another world-class beef packing facility.”

Demand for beef is at an all-time high. The new plant will take advantage of advances in food safety and process technologies to create a processing facility that incorporates the best available technologies to effectively process beef safely and humanely. The final product will be prepackaged boxed beef that will primarily be marketed toward food-service suppliers and retail outlets.

This plant is ideally suited to meet the increasing demand for processing from the dairy and beef cow industry,” said Tom Basabe, president of Simplot Land and Livestock. “Caviness Beef has a long-history in beef processing. Is that why Crapo was so cagey and reportedly indicated support for the refugee resettlement program for Idaho.

One more piece of the puzzle has been found!  Idaho will ‘welcome’ refugees because big industries need cheap labor (for jobs Americans won’t do, right!).

BIG MEAT changing America! Filling those wide open spaces with a massive meat processing facility and bringing in refugee labor to fill the jobs! Watch for it!

Reader Dave saw our post yesterday about Twin Falls and the Chobani Yogurt plant, and now gives us hot news that Ada County is going to get a meatpacking giant!  Kuna, in Ada County, is less than a half an hour from Boise (the largest refugee resettlement site in Idaho).

We have for years told you that since Bill Clinton supplied the first refugees for Iowa meat processors (here), that BIG MEAT was changing rural America with the help of the UN/US State Department and its ‘religious’ resettlement contractors acting as head hunters for big business.

This is one of literally dozens of posts here at RRW about the role meatpackers are playing in changing America.
Remember readers, it is all about the money!
The Somalis, in particular, move around the country as meatpacking jobs become available, but surely the welcome wagon in Idaho expects Congolese, Burmese, and Bhutanese slave laborers to help fill the employment needs.  Mark my words, no matter how high the meatpacker says the salaries will be, they will be too low for anyone other than immigrants and refugees whose families are being subsidized through generous welfare gratis the US taxpayer!

KUNA, Idaho — There are hundreds of new jobs coming to the Kuna area, thanks to the county’s approval of a meat processing facility near the small town.

Right now, there’s a field East of Kuna that’s home to some whistlepigs and a little bit of heavy machinery. But, business leaders say by next year, it will be home to 600 jobs.

Thursday night, along with his fellow Ada County Commissioners, Dave Case approved the building of a 380,000 square foot, $100 million meat processing plant. “Obviously, it will be good for the economy.”

They haven’t broken ground yet, but crews are already doing some prep work. It’s a joint venture between the J. R. Simplot Company and a Texas meat packing company, Caviness Beef Packers. Kuna Mayor Greg Nelson says it will be a huge economic boost for the bedroom community, which has few jobs of its own right now.

There is more, read on.    These county commissioners are dumb enough to think that lots of locals will find work cutting meat.  Or, maybe they know better and are lying to the public!
Neighbors and members of the public are worried about smells and environmental problems, but they will have a lot more to worry about when the Somalis come to town!

Midwestern towns trying to cope with large numbers of refugees

I’m speechless!  After years of reading one fluffy-puffy piece after another about refugees seeing their first snow, we are beginning to see major mainstream publications (Christian Science Monitor in this case) reporting on the struggle small towns are having with the huge numbers of refugees the US State Department and its contractors*** are dispersing across America.

Pay attention Spartanburg, SC and any other town contemplating “welcoming” refugees!

The NYT might still be hiding the source of the influx by not reporting on the refugee program, but other media is not so deceptive.  By the way, I expect every person who read the NYT story yesterday, scratched their heads and wondered how so many Somalis got here!

From the Christian Science Monitor entitled, ‘For small-town America, new immigrants pose linguistic, cultural challenges:’

On a warm July evening in 2012, while Marshalltown, Iowa, celebrated Independence Day, three refugee children from Myanmar (Burma) drowned in the Iowa River. The drownings at Riverview Park cast a grim light on the challenges facing both the city and its newest immigrants, most of whom spoke little English and had scant understanding of life in their new home – including the perils, known to more established residents, of the river’s treacherous currents. [Where was their resettlement contractor which should have been assimilating the refugees to their new home?–ed]

“Many towns are struggling to cope!”

For two decades, rural communities across the Midwest have been finding ways to absorb Latino immigrants. Now, a new generation of immigrants arriving from far-flung places such as Myanmar, Somalia, Iraq, and West Africa has brought a bewildering variety of cultures and languages. Many towns are struggling to cope.

Again, speechless, a reference to the meatpackers wanting refugee labor (see our 2008 post about Clinton bring Bosnians to Iowa for the meatpackers):

Experts say the changing face of immigration in the rural Midwest reflects stricter federal enforcement. Tighter border security has slowed the influx of immigrants from Latin America entering the United States illegally. Meanwhile, the meatpacking industry has looked to refugees, who enjoy legal status, as a way of avoiding problems with undocumented Hispanic workers.

By the way, they don’t say it here, but due to a Clinton Executive Order that Bush did not rescind, local governments (you the taxpayers!) or any agency getting any federal funding is required to supply interpreters for the myriad languages and dialects the refugees bring to your town!

Much of the difficulty surrounding the new immigration is linguistic. Language barriers complicate services from law enforcement to health care. Ms. Beach recalls a school expulsion hearing that required two interpreters – the first to translate from one dialect of Myanmar to another, the second to translate into English.

Are Bill Clinton’s chickens coming home to roost?

And, just at a time when the State Department is telling anyone who will listen that we screen refugees really, really well, did I say really! well in the push to bring in the Syrian Muslims.

So how did so many war criminals (on all sides of the war) get into the US as refugees?  They simply lied! 

Eager to bring them in so that the resettlement contractors*** would have paid work (and the meatpackers would get cheap labor), we flung open America to over 100,000 of them.  Be sure to see Clinton’s gift to BIG MEAT, here.  This from a 2001 Agribusiness publication:

In fact, the meatpacking industry has a history of recruiting on the ground in Yugoslavia. But during the Clinton years, companies like IBP haven’t had to travel that far.   [IBP was taken over by Tyson Foods—ed]

Since 1995, the Clinton INS has resettled over 80,000 Balkan refugees, mainly Bosnian Muslims, primarily in America’s Midwest.

WASHINGTON — Immigration officials are moving to deport at least 150 Bosnians living in the United States who they believe took part in war crimes and “ethnic cleansing” during the bitter conflict that raged in the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s.

In all, officials have identified about 300 immigrants who they believe concealed their involvement in wartime atrocities when they came to the United States as part of a wave of Bosnian war refugees fleeing the violence there. With more records from Bosnia becoming available, the officials said the number of suspects could eventually top 600.

“The more we dig, the more documents we find,” said Michael MacQueen, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement historian who has led many investigations in the agency’s war crimes section. The accused immigrants, many of them former soldiers from Bosnia, include a soccer coach in Virginia, a metal worker in Ohio and four hotel casino workers in Las Vegas.

When more than 120,000 Bosnian refugees began applying for American visas in the mid-1990s, they were required to disclose military service or other allegiances that might have suggested involvement in war crimes. But the system relied largely on the honesty of the applicants, and there was little effort to verify their statements.  [And we are doing the same thing today with Syrians—taking their word—ed.]

All are being investigated—Serbs, Croats and Bosnian Muslims

With a stepped-up focus on Bosnia since the arrest of Mr. Boskic in Boston, immigration officials say a total of 64 Balkan immigrants with ties to war crimes have left the United States after being expelled through legal proceedings or fleeing while under investigation. While most of the cases involve Bosnian Serbs, officials have also taken action against Bosnian Muslims and Croats who they believe participated in attacks against Serbs — a reflection, officials say, of their willingness to pursue Bosnian offenders of all types.

Peter Jok Atem, 32 charged with murder

Longtime readers know that meatpackers love their cheap immigrant labor and are changing the face of small town America by luring refugee and other immigrant laborers to towns across the country for jobs that they say Americans won’t do.  This is one of many posts on the subject here at RRW.

Senator Jeff Sessions told us here that BIG Meat is behind the amnesty push.

The alleged murderer is most likely a refugee as the State Department and its contractors bring many from the Sudan to your communities.  Immigrants from some cultures apparently can’t take a joke so I guess we will soon need re-training in what is funny and what isn’t in our diverse workplaces.

Peter Jok Atem, 32, was charged with first-degree murder Thursday, a day after he allegedly stabbed 25-year-old Danny Vazquez at the Mopac plant on Souder Road.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office said Vazquez on Tuesday had tried to pull a chair out from under Atem. An employee who witnessed the prank told detectives that Atem said he was “going to get you for that.”

A Mopac employee told detectives that Atem and Vazquez had been “having words back and forth . . . for the past six months,” the complaint says.  [Mopac is owned by JBS (Swift) a Brazilian owned company.—ed]

Atem, who was born in Sudan and lives in Lansdale, has no criminal record of violence. But in cases from 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 he was charged with driving under the influence, driving an unregistered vehicle, and disorderly conduct, and was evicted by his landlord.”
