Coming to a town near you? Reuters has the story here:
MELBOURNE (Reuters) – Several hundred Australian nationalists and anti-racism activists clashed with police in Melbourne on Saturday in a rare display of violence in a country where immigration is an increasingly emotive political issue.
[….]
Fear of young Australian Muslims being inspired by militants such as Islamic State and traveling to fight in Iraq and Syria has underpinned support for right-wing groups like Reclaim Australia and the United Patriots Front.
“The message is very clear: you come here, embrace our way of life,” Daniel Nalliah, National President of the Rise Up Australia Party and Reclaim Australia rally organizer told the crowd.
“If you think where you come from is better than where you are coming to, shut up, pack up and get out.”
About 450 police were on hand following violent clashes at a similar rally earlier this year and used pepper spray as they struggled to keep the two sides apart.
The written report doesn’t tell the whole story. See the films of the violent demonstrations to get a better understanding of the tension over immigration down under. Here are just two of many:

A few years ago I was thrilled that Senator Rand Paul publicly challenged the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program. He even said for publication: Why are we bringing Iraqi refugees here and putting them on welfare!
This happened as it became known that two Iraqi refugees had been arrested and ultimately convicted of terrorist activity in Kentucky. However, he drifted away from the issue as his Presidential aspirations became clear.
Now, it looks like he is thankfully taking up the cause again asBreitbart reported here yesterday (via Creeping Sharia and hat tip: Paula):
HOUSTON, Texas — Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), a 2016 GOP presidential candidate, told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview here that he wants to restrict immigration from predominantly Muslim countries after the Chattanooga, Tennessee, terrorist attack.
Paul said in an interview backstage at a rally his presidential campaign is holding inside the Hyatt Regency here in downtown Houston:
I’m very concerned about immigration to this country from countries that have hotbeds of jihadism and hotbeds of this Islamism. There was a program in place that Bush had put in place—it stood for entry-exit program from about 25 different countries with a lot of Islamic radicals, frankly. I think there does need to be heightened scrutiny. Nobody has a right to come to America, so this isn’t something that we can say ‘oh their rights are being violated.’ It’s a privilege to come to America and we need to thoroughly screen those who are coming.
The alleged shooter in the Chattanooga incident—which claimed the lives of four U.S. marines, whom he allegedly murdered in the terror attack—was named Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez. The 24-year-old was born in Kuwait and immigrated to the United States before he opened fire in Chattanooga, killing four Marines.
Paul also told Breitbart News about another similar incident regarding foreigners from the Middle East who were placed in Kentucky via immigration programs for refugees—and tried to, before getting caught, buy military grade missiles.

It took the death of Kate Steinle at the hands of an illegal alien a few weeks ago to direct our attention to the shameful border situation, and now it seems the death of five of our finest just might get a discussion started about our LEGAL immigration policies that allow 100,000 or more Muslims to enter the US each year.
Also, see our earlier postthis morning where Senator Jeff Sessions seems to be suggesting the same thing.
Here is Carlson yesterday on Fox (hat tip: Richard at Blue Ridge Forum). Click here to watch the video.
Tucker Carlson, host of “Fox & Friends Weekend,” suggested Friday that the U.S. should look at who it allows into the country in light of the murders of four Marines at a military facility by a Kuwaiti-born Islamic radical in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Carlson asked, “Is there a connection between a massive increase in Islamic immigration to the U.S. and a massive increase of acts in Islamic terror on our soil?”
Carlson said that should a correlation occur, a review of the current immigration policy and a political discourse are in order, “Maybe we do it in a non-heated way, a way that does not demonize anybody but in a way that acts in America’s interests.”
Carlson said political correctness was the reason that critics use to discourage discussion that could offend a group of people: “You will not hear that conversation and it’s really a shame.”
This is a gem. Thanks to Conservative Reviewand investigator/writer Daniel Horowitz for pulling these numbers together in an easy to see graphic form. See the whole story here. Horowitz mentions refugees as part of the flow. (hat tip: Dick):
There is one caveat we need to mention and that is that not all of those entering the US from countries such as Iraq or Iran are Muslims, but we do get at least a ball park number from this data. Also, we do not take refugees from all of those countries listed above which reminds us that there are other LEGAL immigration programs admitting Muslim immigrants into the US. The next step is to identify all of those methods of entry.
Back in December the St. Cloud Islamic community was all in a rage over several incidents of vandalism that had occurred at a local mosque. The local ‘interfaith’ community rallied and the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American Relations (CAIR) arrived on the scene and even called in the feds in hopes of proving that a “hate crime” had occurred.
Here is CAIR’s commentary—making sure that everyone is notified that Muslims are victims of hate crimes in America!
Lori Saroya, [former] executive director of CAIR-MN, said the biggest concern is that the situation will escalate. There have been situations where vandalism has risen to arson in other cases, she said. [Where, Ms. Saroya, has a mosque been burned by Islamophobes?—ed]
Saroya urged community leaders to use safety measures outlined in a CAIR booklet “Best Practices for Mosque and Community Safety,” which was published in response to previous attacks on American mosques.
[….]
Since 2010, every new mosque project in Minnesota has faced community opposition, Saroya said, which can lead to safety concerns once a mosque is built.
Now comes news that an arrest has been made of a Muslim ‘worshiper’ who was caught in the act of vandalizing his mosque in a similar manner to previous attacks.
Is he just a nut? Or, did he have instructions to help create a public relations event to elicit sympathy for the local Muslim population at this particular time when tensions are high in St. Cloud? We may never know the answer because his story will never go beyond random-drunk-guy acting crazy!
A St. Cloud man was arrested early Thursday after a report of vandalism at the Islamic Center of St. Cloud, in the 300 block of Fifth Avenue South.
Abdourahamane Diallo, 29, told officers he had vandalized the Islamic Center and a vehicle because he was frustrated and had lost an expensive phone earlier in the evening, according to a report from the St. Cloud Police Department. [Oh sure, you lose your phone and then go attack a mosque! Give me a break!—ed]
Police were called to the site shortly before 5 a.m. They learned that the window in a door and a window in a nearby vehicle had been broken while several people were attending prayer inside the center. Witnesses chased Diallo from the building to the end of the block and were walking him back to the scene when police arrived, the report said.
[….]
Diallo told officers he regularly attended prayer at the Islamic Center in the past.
Next time you hear about some mosque being attacked by vandals consider the very real possibility that it is an inside job!
