New York is consistently one of the top 5 states in the nation to 'welcome' refugees

But, contrary to what you might think, it isn’t New York City they are going to.  Resettlement contractors operating in the state are placing them in Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Utica along with a whole host of smaller cities throughout the state.

NYC Syrians rally
In the fall of 2015, open borders activists demonstrated to welcome Syrians to NYC, but we no longer resettle refugees in any great numbers in traditional immigrant gateway cities. Photo: http://www.pressenza.com/2015/09/new-york-says-welcome-to-syrian-refugees/

On these pages over the years we’ve told you about problems and especially made note of the UN designated ‘Town that Loves Refugees‘ (Utica) having serious problems now with schools overloaded with educationally needy children, here.  It does not take a genius to figure out that there is a huge cost associated with educating children who do not speak English and may not even know how to pick up a pencil!
School funding will be one of the first impacts on overloaded cities (other examples Amarillo, TX, Manchester, NH and Wichita, KS).
About a decade ago, Utica had been made the centerpiece of a national propaganda campaign.  I call it shaming.  The message, as I see it, goes like this: Hey look, here is a welcoming city, what’s wrong with your xenophobic, racist, unwelcoming attitude in ____ (fill in the blank) city.
In Albany in 2009, a New York blogger told us about big problems with the resettlement contractor there.  All of our posts on Albany are here.
As I looked through our extensive archive on Buffalo, I see stories about overload and refugee/immigrant crime that results when multiculturalism fails.
Cultural clashes ending in violence dominates our files on the city of Rochester as well.  See here.
town that loves refugees
This PR campaign was a product of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. http://www.unhcr.org/426f4c772.html

In Syracuse where the mayor (laboring under the illusion that importing poverty will revive the city) is welcoming Syrian Muslim refugees as a Catholic Church has become a mosque.  Our Syracuse archive is here.
And then as we have already mentioned there is Utica, here.
So let’s have a look at the numbers going to the state of New York right now because, despite problems, the spigot is wide open in New York state….
To see the contractors and the cities they are operating in, go here, to the handy list of about 180 cities in America where federal resettlement contractors have set up shop.  It looks like seven of the nine federal refugee contractors have carved up the territory in New York state.
(Remember, refugees can be resettled within a hundred miles of the contractor’s office, so you are not off the hook if you don’t live in one of the five primary resettlement cities in New York!)
I didn’t go back to the data  ***prior to the George W. Bush presidency, but found that if you thought the numbers of refugees coming to NY had jumped since Bush, you are right.
During Bush’s term in office, NY saw the arrival of 19,620 refugees, but that number jumped dramatically during the Obama presidency (which still has the remainder of this year to complete). Since January 2009, NY ‘welcomed’ 28,807 needy refugees (no wonder housing is short, crime is up, and schools are overcrowded!).   That is an increase of over 9,000 from Bush years to Obama years.
During the Bush years, the refugees went to those same cities (mentioned above) plus many more small cities. Large populations of refugees included those from Burma, Somalia, Liberia, Ukraine and Russia.
Since Obama took office here are some of the top ethnic groups going to New York state (in addition to smaller numbers of dozens of others):

Burma (9,489)

Bhutan (6,648)

DR Congo (1,280)

Iraq (3,468)

Somalia (3,638)

Despite the welcoming banner in the photo above, New York state has received 67 Syrians (99% Muslim) to date (since the beginning of the conflict). Most went to Buffalo and Syracuse.
As far as I know, no ‘pockets of resistance’ have formed in New York.  Please correct me if I’m wrong.  There is an effort being made in the New York state Senate to monitor refugees, go here for the story we haven’t covered here (yet).
And, check this out! States with the most mosques correlate with top refugee resettlement states!
New York state Presidential primary is on April 19th—vote!
***This is data for only refugees and does not include all of the other “humanitarian arrivals” you, as taxpayers, are caring for each year.

Buffalo, NY: Are refugees being placed in unsafe housing

More housing issues involving refugees—this time New York—see our previous post this morning on Michigan.
I saw this news the other day, but didn’t find time to post it.  As I said in my previous post, look for many housing problems especially this year as federal contractors like Journey’s End in this story are desperate to find housing for the 85,000 refugees Obama is bringing to America.
They will argue that they don’t get enough of a federal hand-out to put them in decent housing, but they will never argue that that means the flow has to be slowed or cut off!  Just get them in, get their per head payment and move on! That is how they roll!
From WIVB.com:

Karen Andolina Scott is the Executive Director of Journey’s End in Buffalo. No comment on ceiling collapse story. http://www.jersbuffalo.org/index.php/news/entries/journeys_end_refugee_services_announces_new_executive_director

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- A refugee family living on Buffalo’s West Side is having a difficult first few weeks in the United States. On Sunday night, the ceiling collapsed in the kitchen of their rental home on Grant St.

“It fell on me and my kids we were all inside,” said Roger, who was visiting a family friend that lives in the home.

Roger told News 4 he was taking a call in the kitchen when the collapse happened.

“It’s really discouraging when someone comes here seeking a house and you find yourself in these conditions, this situation,” he said.

His family friend, Ley Baunda, lives in the house with his wife and seven children. They are refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo.***

They told us they blame local resettlement organizations for placing them in an unsafe house.

“I’m afraid because there is many, many things that is not good in the house,” said Baunda.

Baunda’s landlord wouldn’t talk to News 4.

We reached out to resettlement agency Journey’s End who wouldn’t comment on this case.

Continue reading to learn more as Ms. Scott explains the “federal program.”
From our handy list we learn that Journey’s End (a “Christian based” organization) is a subcontractor of both Church World Service and Episcopal Migration Ministries (two of the nine major federal contractors).
See our very large archive on Buffalo by clicking here.
***Just a reminder, on refugees from the DR Congo, we are in the process of bringing in 50,000, see one of many posts, here.

More evidence that big business is a driver of refugee resettlement in America

Update:  Be sure to learn more about what you should do about this during Election 2016 at American Resistance 2016!
The so-called ‘religious’ charities*** that resettle refugees in America and those in the UN/US State Department administering the refugee admissions program that is bringing tens of thousands of Muslim (and other) refugees to your towns want you to think this is all about ‘humanitarianism.’  It is not!
The do-gooders bringing refugees to America are shills for big business whether they know it or not!

It is about globalization and multi-national corporations’ need for cheap migrant laborers!

Did you read our post about BIG MEAT and Amarillo, TX just this week? It went viral and has brought thousands upon thousands of readers to RRW!  The business model is that companies, often times companies in the food industry, encourage (lobby for!) more refugees to be admitted to the US (or for amnesty for illegal aliens).

They get the slave laborers, your town gets the social/cultural tension, and taxpayers at all levels of government supplement the meager wages with WELFARE!

Dems get reliable Leftwing voters!
(See also our post on foreign operatives changing America with refugee labor, here.)
Rich people going to Davos to make plans for your town!
This is what got me started this morning.  The Financial Times tells us that the founder of Chobani Yogurt will be making a pitch at Davos this week at the World Economic Forum for more companies to adopt that ‘business model’ and hire (read IMPORT) more refugees to small and medium-sized American cities!
Financial Times:

Last year Hamdi Ulukaya, a Kurdish entrepreneur who created the billion-dollar US-based Chobani yoghurt empire, travelled to Greece to see the swelling refugee crisis with his own eyes. Unsurprisingly, he was horrified by the human suffering that he witnessed, particularly as he shares a cultural affinity with many of the refugees — he grew up near the Syrian border in Turkey, before moving to the US as a student.

But Ulukaya was also appalled by something else: the hopelessly bureaucratic and old-fashioned nature of the organisations running the aid efforts. “The refugee issue is being dealt with using [methods from] the 1940s and it’s in the hands of the UN and mostly government and you don’t see a lot of private sector and entrepreneurs involved,” he told me last week. “I decided we have got to hack this — we have got to bring another perspective into this issue, there are technologies that can be used.”

So Ulukaya decided to act. Last year he established a foundation, Tent, to channel financial aid and innovation efforts into refugee work.

[….]

And he has stepped up efforts to hire as many refugees as he can at his yoghurt plants, where they currently account for 30 per cent of the total workforce, or 600 people. “There are 11 or 12 languages spoken in our factories,” says Ulukaya. “We have translators 24 hours a day.”

[….]

At next week’s World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos, he will call on other CEOs to join a campaign to channel corporate money, lobbying initiatives, services and jobs to refugees. Five companies have already signed up: Ikea, MasterCard, Airbnb, LinkedIn and UPS — and Ulukaya says more are poised to join.

Continue reading!  Reporter Gillian Tett quotes me, and mentions protests in Idaho and New York where Chobani is bringing in the refugee laborers.
See our complete archive on Twin Falls, Idaho and the ‘pocket of resistance’ that has formed there.
P.S. When I first learned about what Chobani Yogurt was doing to rural America (here), I never again bought any Chobani Yogurt!  I go down that dairy aisle and give them a mental finger (sorry to our more proper and polite readers).

More on the big pow-wow in New York: How do we shape the narrative on immigration moving into the 2016 Presidential elections?

We told you about the planned December gathering of the NO Borders movement here the other day.  Please read it!
Besides a session on us—the backlash movement, they have a session on how to shape the media narrative for the 2016 Presidential Election season entitled: ‘Words Matter: Speaking Out Through Media’.

suzette2
One of the leaders of the pow-wow, and working to shape the media, is Suzette Brooks Masters of the JM Kaplan Fund. The fund provided the money to the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society to write a report suggesting that RRW be investigated by the Southern Poverty Law Center (an example of the sort of media these people seek). https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2014/07/05/hebrew-immigrant-aid-society-wants-local-anti-refugee-leaders-investigated-by-splc/

Here is how they describe what the attendees will learn (you might want to subtitle it—-how to train the media to carry OUR No borders message/make opponents look like racists):

This panel convenes key reporters and media makers who are covering immigration on the national and local level – from mainstream media to ethnic media to blogging and social media. This panel aims to give conference attendees a sense of how to pitch stories and get their message across to a variety of media covering immigration. What makes campaigns relevant to reporters? How should we pitch them? How do you build relationships? When do you rely on established media and when do you create your own? How do we shape the narrative on immigration moving into the 2016 Presidential elections?

In addition, looking beyond English language media, this panel considered the landscape of ethnic media, and how to identify emerging audiences and media markets that the immigrant rights movement should be looking at, reaching out to and engaging immigrant communities.

This session will also speak towards the creative ways in which media organizations have partnered with advocacy groups in order to tell immigrant stories through reporting, entertainment, and more.

ROFLMHO!
Our earlier post this morning on Think Progress is an example of how their media machine is going to work—they are worried!
Be sure to see Leo Hohmann’s latest at WND in which he mentions the pow-wow in ‘Pushback growing’, here.

Big pow-wow of the refugee pushers and the no-borders gang coming up in December

Who is working against American workers and your American towns and cities? Find out!
Let me be clear, many of you have foolishly (in my opinion) tried to make the distinction between LEGAL and ILLEGAL immigration for way too long (legal is good, illegal is bad).  Please notice that the side, pushing for MASS MIGRATION, makes no such distinction.
They are all happily coming together surely (in December of this year) to get their marching orders (community/union organizing instructions!) for the 2016 Presidential race. LOL! to be a fly on the wall and hear how many times the name ‘TRUMP’ is mentioned.

From New American Dreams (click on the site to follow links and to register):

We’ll be making history together Dec 13-15, 2015 at NIIC 2015. [for those who have enough money to stay in a hotel in Brooklyn—ed]

Founded over 25 years ago, the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC), the local Co-Host for NIIC 2015, is the leading advocate for New York’s immigrant communities on the local, state and national level. NYIC brinPrintgs together 165 organizations and entities that work with immigrants and refugees across the city and the state; together, our multi-ethnic and multi-sector constituencies pursue a common agenda and represent what is best about New York—diversity, energy, and the drive for positive change.

NYIC is a proud member of the National Partnership for New Americans, the national Co-Host and anchor for NIIC 2015. NYIC is committed to bringing voices from across New York to NIIC 2015 and share our experiences from the last quarter century of advancing immigrant integration. NIIC 2015 will also advance NYIC’s work with regional and national partners.

The National Partnership for New Americans (NPNA) is a national multiethnic, multiracial partnership. We represent the collective power and NPNA resources of the country’s 34 largest regional immigrant rights organizations in 29 states. Our members provide large-scale services—from DACA application processing to voter registration to ACA outreach—for their communities, and they combine service delivery with sophisticated organizing tactics to advance local and state policy.

Our aim is to achieve a vibrant, just, and welcoming democracy for all. We believe America’s success is rooted in our ongoing commitment to welcoming and integrating newcomers into the fabric of our nation, and to upholding equality and opportunity as fundamental American values. Immigrants are the soul of our organization, and immigrant communities inspire, implement, and champion our work.

Joining the Co-Hosts on the NIIC 2015 Executive Committee are key partners. Make the Road New York, which builds the power of Latino communities to achieve dignity and justice, as well as the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition, the largest organization in New England promoting the rights and integration of immigrants and refugees.

They are going to examine you!

LOL!  They are going to have a session about us (about those of us who don’t want to CHANGE America, who want to know what they have planned for our towns, who want to put American workers first, who don’t want to spend enormous amounts of the federal treasury to care for third world migrants, who don’t want to dilute our Judeo-Christian culture and heritage).  Check it out!  At 3:15 on December 13th:

Understanding and Addressing Today’s Organized Backlash Against Muslim Immigrants and Refugees

This session will explore the resurgence of anti-immigrant and Islamophobic rhetoric and activism and the recent use of Islamophobia to undermine refugee resettlement. This new development has implications for receiving communities and for refugee resettlement, particularly of Muslim refugees. How does this backlash against resettlement fit within the broader attacks on Muslims in the U.S. and what are the best ways to respond? Who are the key actors fueling this campaign and how is their message spreading? Hear from experts from the Muslim community and from refugee resettlement leaders about this new challenge and potential responses.

Here is the list of those working against your American towns, against American workers and against American taxpayers (regular readers of RRW will recognize many of these groups from our previous reporting).  The gang is all here!
