Where have all the Somalis been resettled in the US? Minnesota takes the prize!

My plan (ha! ha! if I don’t get distracted!) is to try to do a series of posts to answer the many questions I’m getting from the media in recent days. The US State Department has an extensive data base called the Refugee Processing Center. Sometimes you can access the data and sometimes you can’t!

First a few basic points: The UN High Commissioner for Refugees chooses most of our refugees. The Department of Homeland Security is responsible for screening them. The US State Department sends them out via contractors they euphemistically call Voluntary Agencies (VOLAGs). They are not voluntary—you pay them through your tax dollars to place the refugees through their offices in 180 cities across America. The nine major VOLAGs have 350 subcontractors to form an extensive network. The contractors spread the refugees out to surrounding towns if the main resettlement city gets overloaded (especially if ‘pockets of resistance’ form).

The Department of Health and Human Services (Office of Refugee Resettlement) makes sure the nine contractors are well paid for myriad activities.

Minnesota ‘welcomed’ 17% of all Somalis resettled in the US since 2005. Three resettlement agencies were responsible: Catholic Charities, Lutheran Social Services of MN, and World Relief MN (aka Arrive Ministries).

I searched this morning for Somali refugees resettled to which states from February 1, 2005 to February 1, 2015 and here is what I learned: The US State Department distributed Somalis to 45 states and the District of Columbia basically establishing “seed communities” or colonies.

Remember though that this is America and people can move without permission so some originally resettled in one place may have long-since moved. The professionals in the refugee industry call those who move “secondary migrants.” The state receiving the most secondary migrants is Minnesota-–why? because Somalis want to live with their kind of people.

From February 1, 2005 to February 1, 2015 we brought a total of 64,332 Somalis to the US from all over the world!

By the way, our Somali refugees don’t come directly from Somalia, but we pick them up all over the world including from Kenya, South Africa, Malaysia, Malta and even it appears Saudi Arabia (more on that later).

The states not (yet!) getting Somali refugees resettled directly are: Delaware (LOL! Joe Biden was one of the original sponsors of the Refugee Act of 1980), Arkansas, Montana, Wyoming, and West Virginia. We know that ‘secondary migrant’ Somalis are going to Wyoming.

The news comes from the Somali capital of America—Minneapolis! And, LOL! one of three cities that the Obama Administration touts as an example of how Muslims are happily settled in!

Mall of America officials increased security on Saturday after a terror group linked to al-Qaida released an online video that appears to call for an attack on the popular shopping destination.

Islamic terrorist group al-Shabaab specifically named the Mall of America, the West Edmonton Mall in Alberta and London’s Oxford Street in the more than hourlong video that was being circulated on Twitter.

Federal law enforcement officials told CBS News that they are investigating the video.

Mall of America officials released a statement Saturday saying that they were aware of the video that mentions the megamall and shows an image of it and its GPS coordinates.

“We will continue to monitor events with the help of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies,” according to the statement.

The video posted Saturday shows six minutes of graphic images celebrating the Westgate Mall attack. Near the end of the video, a masked man wearing a camouflage jacket appears on screen.

“If just a handful of mujahedeen fighters could bring Kenya to a complete standstill for nearly a week then imagine what a dedicated mujahedeen in the West could do to the American or Jewish-owned shopping centers across the world?” he asks.

Come on mainstream media—you are fixating now on the Syrian Muslims who might come to the US—but never focus on the number of Somalis we are admitting every single month!

Look at the numbers! Here is our post which chronicles the over 100,000 Somalis we have admitted as refugees to your towns and cities. Then be sure to see that in 2008, the State Department uncovered widespread fraud in Somali family reunification (P-3 program)—thousands, possibly 20,000 Somalis, got into the US by lying on refugee applications.

And, then see that in FY2014 we admitted 9,000 additional Somalis to the US. This is huge pool of potential jihadists!

In the first 4 months of FY2015 we admitted 3,536 new Somali refugees to America! That is 884 a month! If that large stream continues it will put us at over 10,000 Somalis in FY2015!

Al-Shabaab must feel confident that they have operatives in the US Somali community.

An after thought! Don’t you think the timing of this video release is interesting—right after the Obama/Biden ‘hug a Muslim’ conference. It is almost as if the terrorists are making fun of the O-man!

Minneapolis: Basketball will keep Somali youths away from the Jihadists

When taxpayers are expected to come up with grant money for yet another “program” to keep Muslim kids busy and supposedly away from the Islamic imperative to join the Jihad, it is not only the $$$ that concerns me, it is that the message becomes it is all America’s fault. If they go off to fight with Al-shabaab or ISIS it is because we don’t give them enough stuff!

It is never about the indoctrination going on in the neighborhood mosques—no never!

Texas: Somali sentenced for falsifying asylum application; feds keep terrorism connection secret

We told you about the fraudulent asylum claim on February 7th, but thanks to Creeping Sharia for finding a longer article on the sentencing at My SanAntonio that contains some information I found most interesting.

Here is My San Antonio:

A Somali man was sentenced in a San Antonio courtroom Thursday to 15 years in federal prison for lying to get into the U.S., as well as a never-before-disclosed admission that he had helped a terrorist group.

Abdinassir Mohamud Ibrahim crossed the US border in 2007 at Hidalgo and was granted asylum (refugee status) and “resettled” in Emporia, KS.

Abdinassir Mohamud Ibrahim, 43, previously admitted that he lied his way into the country or left out damaging details — such as his relationship to two people who made international headlines because of their reported ties to terrorist groups.

But the FBI, Border Patrol, acting U.S. Attorney Richard Durbin and a national security official disclosed Thursday that Ibrahim secretly also pleaded guilty in July to sending e-mails in support of al-Shabab and providing money to a friend affiliated with that terrorist group. The charges were made public at his sentencing Thursday, but officials made no mention of his cooperation that led to them keeping the details secret for more than six months.

The affidavit said Ayrow was the former leader of al-Shabab and was killed in a U.S. airstrike in 2008. Aweys was affiliated with al-Shabab and al-Ittihad al-Islami, which the U.S. has placed on a list of specially designated global terrorist groups.

Now look at this!

Ibrahim was granted refugee status in the U.S. and resettled in Emporia, Kansas, after coming through Hidalgo in May 2007. But the status was granted based on fraudulent information, the affidavit said.

Emporia, KS connection

If you have been reading RRW since we began writing, you may remember that there was a huge problem with Somalis in Emporia, KS in 2007, most of whom had been lured there by jobs at Tyson Foods. Overnight it seemed Emporia was flooded with Somali refugees. If I recall correctly there wasn’t even a contracted resettlement office there.

There was such a public outcry that Tyson Foods actually shut the main part of the plant down and moved the Somalis elsewhere. We wrote about what was happening for months and created a special category, here, just for news from Emporia.

As a matter of fact, Bobbi Mlynar writing at the Emporia Gazette on November 28, 2007 told the citizens there about our refugee problem in Hagerstown, MD and pretty accurately described what was the origin of RRW.

So back to Abdinassir Mohamud Ibrahim—there really was a liar (a phony refugee) and prospective terror sympathizer living in Emporia at the time citizens there were agitated!

One more thing, Ibrahim did not come in the usual resettlement process, he entered the country illegally by crossing the border in Texas and asked for and received ASYLUM.

How many more Ibrahims are out there?

I am so cool, I have Somali friends! And, there are an awful lot of them!

Update February 19th: O.K. Delaware residents can rest easy today. Fact checkers give ol’ Joe four pinocchios when they couldn’t find a single Somali cab driver in Wilmington. And it is no wonder because you can count on two hands (at most!) the number of refugees resettled in Delaware every year!

Update February 18th: I see this morning that Joe’s Somali comments are being reported widely as somehow another of Biden’s racial gaffs, however, not one of the reports I have seen have made the connection that Somalis are in America thanks to Biden, Kennedy and Jimmy Carter when they opened widely the refugee pipeline to America in 1980!

It is so scary to realize who we have running our government with Obama not seeing the exponentially growing worldwide trend of Islamic brutality, and now here is VP Joe Biden telling us about his new found pals in the Wilmington, Delaware Somali ‘community.’

Of course this is on the eve of the sure-to-be-wimpy ‘Countering Violent Extremism’ pow-wow that will probably gloss over the problems emanating from the Somali ‘community’ of Minneapolis where since at least late 2007 Somali ‘youths’ we gave refuge to have said s**** you America and have headed off to jihad training around the world.

And, probably poor ol’ Joe hasn’t made the connection that he and his former Democratic mob boss in the Senate—Sen. Ted Kennedy, authors of the Refugee Act of 1980—are responsible for the growing Somali community in Wilmington and across the country.

You know what is funny?—Delaware has only ever resettled a tiny number of refugees (did Joe make sure that the number stayed small?). But, these Somalis are secondary migrants who were resettled elsewhere in America and are now spreading out (colonizing!) as the Islamic Doctrine of Immigration tells them to do and Joe’s hometown is fair game!

LOL! I bet Joe is popular with them because they know exactly what they are doing to America and Joe hasn’t a clue (kind of like when some kids play a trick on a doddering old man)!

Vice President Joe Biden says he’s quite popular with the Somali community of Wilmington, Delaware. If you want proof, he suggests you should talk to some local cab drivers.

“If you ever come to the train station with me, you’ll notice that I have great relationships with them because there’s an awful lot of them driving cabs and are friends of mine. For real,” Biden said Tuesday at a summit on violent extremism, according to video posted by The Washington Post.

Biden made his remarks while noting the large number of East African immigrants in Minnesota.

“In Minneapolis-Saint Paul, we’re working to build relationships with the East African immigrants who have made your city their home. As the same folks, Somalis, who have made made my city of Wilmington, Delaware, [their home] on a smaller scale,” he said. “It’s a large, very identifiable Somali community.”

For new readers: The US State Department, thanks to former Senator and now VP Biden, has resettled well over 100,000 Somalis to America in the last couple of decades—last year the number bumped up to 9,000! There had been a little slowdown starting in 2008 when the State Department discovered the massive fraud perpetrated by mostly Somalis claiming they were related to Somalis who got in previously. A moratorium on family reunification was in place for several years.
