Sweden Will Not Take Refugees from Greek Camp Fire

Well! Well! Have the Swedes finally had enough of the joys of diversity?

It seems that the land that Bernie loves is waking up to the horrors they have created by welcoming refugees from Africa and the Middle East who now refuse to settle down to being good little Swedes.

Before I get to the latest on a ‘canary in a coal mine’ country I have followed for at least ten years, be sure to check in from time to time at Borderhawk.

Right now we are so focused on the presidential contest here in America that we might be losing sight of the continued decline of Europe as migrants continue to storm its borders.

For specifically on Europe, here is some of what you can learn at Borderhawk today.

‘No more migrants’ – Sweden changes its asylum policy

Sweden, a country with one of the most liberal asylum policies in the world, is drastically changing its attitude towards migrants.

 

Although the country will provide material aid to Greece, it has decided not to accept any refugees from the burned Moria camp or other Greek islands, unlike Germany, which has agreed to take in 1,500. Sweden has thus joined Austria and the Visegrád Four countries of Hungary, Poland, Czechia, and Slovakia, which refuse to accept migrants from the camp, writes Czech news portal Novinky.

It is not clear whether the change of course in asylum policy concerns only the problem of relocating the 12,500 people from the destroyed Greek Moria camp, or whether Sweden is changing its approach to migration in general. The fact is, however, that the topic of migration dominated the 2018 Swedish elections, and Prime Minister Stefan Löfven is now under pressure. As Swedish media points out, his minority government coalition with the Green Party is the weakest in 70 years.

In 2015, Sweden recorded over 160,000 asylum applications, which was the highest number per capita in Europe. Sweden, along with Germany, was one of the most sought-after destinations for refugees. At the time, the country was proud of its liberal approach.

“My Europe does not build walls,” said Prime Minister Stefan Löfven at the time.

Oh, how the times have changed….

After five years, the country faces a dramatic increase in crime and failures in its integration efforts.

“If migration is so strong that integration is no longer successful, we risk further problems,” said Prime Minister Löfven last week.

Sweden struggles with the spread of gang-related crime in socially disadvantaged suburbs. For example, since the beginning of this year, 27 people have died during the shootings between criminal organizations. Almost all the victims were young men and members of migrant gangs, wrote the German newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau daily, which writes that the growth in clan violence has “shifted the discourse in the country”.

By the way, I began following Sweden more carefully years ago when one snippy little Open Borders commenter told me repeatedly that we should be like Sweden when it came to ‘welcoming’ refugees.  Hmmmm……

40 Criminal “Clans” Active in Sweden; Prime Minister Says Integration Not Going Well

I’m writing about Sweden this morning in my ‘Invasion of Europe’ series because it is so interesting to see that after watching Sweden actively committing cultural suicide for more than a decade, law enforcement and political leaders may now be on the same page and admitting they have a problem.

There is a lesson here for us! Sweden is the canary in the coal mine.

First this news (and btw note the use of the word “clan” rather than any mention of the ethnic origins or religion of those who refuse to be Swedish):

Migrant clans have come to Sweden solely to organize crime and obtain power, says national police chief

According to Deputy National Police Chief Mats Löfving, at least about 40 criminal clans are now active in Sweden, and these clans have migrated to Sweden for the purpose of obtaining power, making money, and further expanding their criminal syndicates.

“These clans have come to Sweden solely to organize crime. They work to create power, they have a great capacity for violence, and they want to make money. And they do that through drug crimes, violent crimes, and extortion,” said Löfving, who made remarks during an interview on Ekot’s Saturday program on Swedish Radio.

According to him, the clans have migrated to Sweden to not only to engage in crime but also to raise their children into a life of organized crime.

The police chief said that the increasingly serious gang crime is something the police have long warned about.

“What we are amazed at is that we believe this development was very clear since 2012. In 2015, we developed a method and mapped Sweden regarding these phenomena.

Löfven’s turn: Connects large migration with the development of crime

The Social Democrats have firmly denied that gang crime can be linked to migration.

But in tonight’s hearing in Aktuellt, it sounds different from Stefan Löfven.

– If you have a migration that means in the order of magnitude that you can not cope with the integration then it will be that we get social tensions in a society and that is not good, says Stefan Löfven in the pre-recorded interview.

Stefan Löfven has long said that the issue of gang crime cannot be linked to migration. In SVT’s Agenda in November last year, for example, he firmly said no to the question. The Prime Minister explained that gang crime is due to segregation, social divisions and areas of exclusion.

During the party leader debate in the Riksdag on Wednesday, Stefan Löfven was asked why he did not see the connection between a large immigration and growing crime.

Then Löfven answered:

– With a large migration where we can not cope with the integration, then we also follow a greater risk of the problems we see. It’s crystal clear.

And, then he said Donald Trump was right (no! just kidding!).

Sweden: Iraqi Refugee Accused of Decapitating Swedish Girlfriend

She had gone to his home to collect her belongings after breaking up with him.  Sick story at the UK Daily Mail (hat tip: Paul):

Swedish girl, 17, was decapitated ‘by Iraqi-born boyfriend, 23, who wrapped her head in aluminium foil’ after she broke up with him in case that has shocked the country

A 17-year-old girl was beheaded by her ex-boyfriend after breaking up with him in Sweden, it is alleged.

Wilma Andersson vanished on November 14 last year and police found a ‘body part’ two weeks later – which was later revealed to be her head.

Her ex-boyfriend Tishko Ahmed Shabaz was arrested at the time and has now been charged with her murder, which he denies.

Shabaz is accused of decapitating Wilma when she went to collect her belongings before wrapping her head in foil and hiding it at his home.

I’ve written extensively (for years) about socialist Sweden’s welcome to migrants from the third world, but even with its arms wide open, Swedes can’t win.  (See my Sweden archive.)

Now their welcoming society is responsible for killing off mostly Somali and Iraqi migrants as the government sought to keep its country and economy relatively free of draconian measures as those most countries have employed to (supposedly) stop the virus.

Here is the AP at ABC News helping to spread the social justice über alles message.  Expect more stories like this one to help fuel division between the rich and poor (even in ‘socialist’ Sweden).

Coronavirus takes a toll in Sweden’s immigrant community

STOCKHOLM — The flight from Italy was one of the last arrivals that day at the Stockholm airport. A Swedish couple in their 50s walked up and loaded their skis into Razzak Khalaf’s taxi.

It was early March and concerns over the coronavirus were already present, but the couple, both coughing for the entire 45-minute journey, assured Khalaf they were healthy and just suffering from a change in the weather. Four days later, the Iraqi immigrant got seriously ill with COVID-19.

Still not able to return to work, Khalaf is part of the growing evidence that those in immigrant communities in the Nordic nations are being hit harder by the pandemic than the general population.

Sweden took a relatively soft approach to fighting the coronavirus, one that attracted international attention. Large gatherings were banned but restaurants and schools for younger children have stayed open. The government has urged social distancing, and Swedes have largely complied.

The country has paid a heavy price, with 3,175 fatalities from COVID-19. That’s more than 31 deaths per 100,000 population, compared with about 8 per 100,000 in neighboring Denmark, which imposed a strict lockdown early on that is only now being slowly lifted.

Inside Sweden’s immigrant communities, anecdotal evidence emerged early in the outbreak that suggested that some — particularly those from Somalia and Iraq — were hit harder than others.

Last month, data from Sweden’s Public Health Agency confirmed that Somali Swedes made up almost 5 percent of the country’s COVID-19 cases, yet represented less than 1 percent of its 10 million people.

Many in these communities are more likely to live in crowded, multigeneration households and are unable to work remotely. [I seriously doubt that large numbers are out working!—ed]

Sweden, Norway and Finland recognized early failings in community outreach in minority languages and are seeking to fix this. The town of Jarfalla, outside Stockholm, has had high school students hand out leaflets in Somali, Persian, French and other languages, urging people to wash their hands and stay home if sick.

But teacher and community activist Rashid Musa says the problem runs much deeper.

“I wish it were that easy — that you needed to just translate a few papers,” he said. “We need to look at the more fundamental issue, which is class, which is racism, which is social status, which is income.”

“The rich have the opportunity to put themselves into quarantine, they can go to their summer houses,” Musa said.

Sweden: Refugee News for a Little Laugh this Morning

I’m getting dragged down by all the awful news of governors one after another (even some Republicans) jumping on the bandwagon to oppose the President and to support importing more poverty to America.

One reader suggested that the media interview in a homeless camp in say LA and ask the homeless (on camera) how they feel about Third Worlders coming to the city and immediately given housing, food, medical care.  We can dream!

Of course I have a lot more to say in the days and week ahead about the President’s refugee reform efforts and how no matter how many citizens speak up in favor of reform and slowing the flow, Open Borders Inc. is better funded and more organized and it’s not because of any power naive humanitarian voters have, it is about the almighty dollar.

Can you say, George Soros, Paul Singer, Michael Bloomberg, Chambers of Commerce, global corporations, campaign donations (to Democrats and Republicans), and nine phony-baloney so-called charities.  US Refugee resettlement is driven by, yes, those seeking a borderless world and those getting rich on the backs of refugee pawns.

Sorry, I told you I was going to give you a little laugh this fine December morning!

Swedish town to integrate refugees by housing them with pensioners

The first residents have moved into a new housing scheme that mixes seniors, young people and foreigners who came to Sweden as unaccompanied minors seeking asylum. They are required to socialize with each other.

The first time the young immigrant men met their future Swedish neighbors, it was Kristin Ohman (photo above) who made contact.

Here is Human Rights Watch reporting that most of the unaccompanied ‘children’ who came to Sweden in 2015 were teenage boys from Afghanistan, Syria, Somalia, Eritrea, Iraq and Ethiopia.

“They were standing alone so I came over to meet them and I gave them some flowers,” the 74-year-old smiles, as she remembers the gathering of the 70 people hand-picked to live in her new apartment building. “They seemed a bit shy, but they were all very positive.”

The “SällBo” project in the Swedish city of Helsingborg aims to combat loneliness among the elderly at the same time as helping former child refugees integrate by housing them side-by-side in the same building. There are 31 flats for retired people and 20 for 18- to 25-year-olds, ten of which are reserved for people who arrived in Sweden as unaccompanied child asylum-seekers.

The project’s name combines the word “sällskap,” meaning company or togetherness, with “bo,” meaning to live, and under their contract, residents commit to socialize with each other for at least two hours a week, helped along by a live-in social coordinator.

“It’s not only the first in Sweden,” says Dragana Curovic, an integration specialist at Helsingborgshem, the city’s municipal housing company. “Our constellation is unique anywhere in the world.”

Curovic and her colleague hatched the idea for their integration project two years later, when considering whether to convert two floors back into assisted housing for the elderly and leave the bottom level for young immigrants. In the end, they decided it would be better to mix the groups together.

“We thought, ‘okay, we have this house, and we have these needs, and we know that there are a lot of lonely people. Why don’t we do an integration project, where there are different kinds of people?'”

Her hope is that by meeting and working together with elderly Swedes, the young men will improve their cultural understanding and absorb practical skills they would normally have learnt from their parents. Former child asylum-seekers face a lot of stigma in Sweden, so Curovic hopes the project will also help them understand that not everyone in Sweden views them with suspicion.

How did Sweden get to this awful place?  They opened their gates wide to the Third World! Pray this morning that we will never become Sweden!
