Australia: First suicide bomber from Down Under tentatively identified in Syria

Think about it, Western countries “welcome” Muslim refugees and migrants, offer them a good life, feed and care for them until the time they can go join the Jihad as healthy Islamic warriors.

Here is the story from ABC News Australia (hat tip: Leonie):

Emphasis is mine

Saying good-bye to fellow Jihadist

New video has emerged of the man claimed to be Australia’s first suicide bomber.

The video appears to be published by the Al Qaeda-linked group, Jabhat al Nusrah, which has previously said the Australian blew himself up in an attack on an army checkpoint in north-eastern Syria in September.

It is the most revealing insight yet into the man’s last hours and shows the group preparing the massive truck bomb used in the attack.

[….]

Since sketchy images of the bombing and a still image of Abu Asma emerged identifying him as an Australian in September, Australia’s intelligence and police agencies have been trying to trace his route from suburban obscurity to jihad.

It is understood they have identified the man they believe carried out the bombing.

Jihad is the duty of every Muslim!  Forget your family and the “good life.”

He bids farewell to fellow jihadists then urges more foreigners to come and join the fight.

“This is a message to all my brothers in the world: Today jihad is a duty of every Muslim, to carry a weapon and come to the land of jihad… today jihad is duty imposed on every Muslim, so rise up Muslims.

“This is a duty imposed on us and the best of people are those who fight for the sake of God. So if you are afraid, why are you afraid? For your wives and your children? Trust in God. In the West or in any country, you think you are men? Or (that) you are living a good life? Today real men are living in the land of jihad. They are our brothers, they are the Muslims who defend the religion of God.”

20 to 30 Australians are believed to have joined the Jihad. Not mentioned here is any discussion about how they became indoctrinated in Australia.   Radical mosques?

There are signs that others who have expressed an interest in fighting in Syria have been able to use contacts in Australia to get in touch with armed groups.

The militias are happy to get new recruits, but want them to bring money for weapons and supplies, and there is evidence many would-be jihadists raise money in Australia before heading to Syria.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) says over the past 12 months there has been a substantial increase in the number of Australians going to join hardline groups, including Jabhat al Nusra.

In just a year the number has risen from a few to 20 or 30, possibly more.

Australian security is cancelling passports of those they suspect might be ready to bolt.  That is something we should be doing in the US too!  And, where have they been bolting to?  To Turkey as the gateway to Syria!

Turkey is the most important gateway for foreign fighters headed into Syria.

Presumably to head off the fear some have of the Jihadists returning to Australia, the government is also cancelling passports of those they suspect have gone for terrorism training so they can’t get back in!

The fears about what these men might do in Australia when they head home are well publicised.

For the news in 2008 about America’s first suicide bomber, go here.   Those Somali “kids” who left the “good life” in Minneapolis to receive terror training in Somalia may never have grown up except for the goodness of the American tax payer.

Norway: authorities concerned as two more Somali refugees give up good life for Jihad

This time it is two Somali girls and they went to Syria to join the Jihad.

Product of Norwegian refugee program—hunting in Nairobi!

Stories like this one in the Washington Post (‘Norway’s Somali community rattled by reports of young members joining jihadist groups’) like to put a spin on the story with a title like that one—the “Somali community” is worried! It is a subtle way to send the message that there are only a few bad apples in the bunch, and leaders of the “Somali community” and the mainstream media want to be sure you understand that (even if you only read the headline).

This piece might well have been titled:  ‘Norwegian intelligence concerned that 30-40 Norwegians have joined Jihad in Syria; could bring terror-training back to Norway.’

Here is AP at the WaPo (emphasis is mine):

OSLO, Norway — Somali immigrants in Norway fear that violent extremism is taking root in the community after reports of young Somali-Norwegians traveling abroad to join jihadist groups.

One of the gunmen in the Nairobi, Kenya, mall attack that killed 67 people last month has been identified as Hassan Abdi Dhuhulow, a 23-year-old Norwegian citizen who returned to his native Somalia in 2010.

Norway’s Somali community was still coming to terms with that news when it was struck by another startling development: Two teenage sisters — 16 and 19 — had left their family in Norway to join the civil war in Syria.

“It is very shocking,” said Mohamed Husein Gaas, a Somali-born East Africa expert at the Fafo research foundation in Oslo. “No one thought two young girls would travel to a place where they don’t have any connection.”

It’s not clear how exactly the sisters from suburban Oslo, who have not been named, planned to participate in the Syrian war. But they told their family they wanted to take part in jihad, said Bashe Musse, a Somali community leader and local politician in Oslo.

Norwegian newspaper VG said they flew to Turkey and made their way to the Syrian border, without telling their family until they had left Norway.

There’s Turkey again!—is the Erdogan government facilitating the movement of Islamists through Turkey?  See Bulgaria here a few days ago.

Then this:

…..the vast majority of Somalis in Norway don’t support violent extremism. About 30,000 people in Norway were either born in Somalia or have Somali parents. The wealthy Nordic country is one of the most popular destinations for Somali immigrants in Europe along with Britain, Sweden and the Netherlands.

The Syria conflict has attracted hundreds of foreign fighters from European countries, many of whom have joined Islamic militant groups. An estimated 30 to 40 people — and possibly more — have left from Norway alone, according to the domestic intelligence service PST. Security officials are concerned that they could pose terror threats once they return home combat-hardened and traumatized by war.

Are we raising Muslim armies?

We’ve often noted that Somalis/other refugees come to the West and we raise the kids (with your tax dollars), grow them into healthy and educated adults who then have no interest in the Western “good life.”  Had we left them in their own hellholes in Africa and the Middle East they may well have never survived to become Jihadists!

Surprise! Bulgaria finds “threat to national security” in refugee influx

So is Turkey facilitating the movement of Islamists into Bulgaria?

We told you previously (here) that Bulgaria is having a hell of a problem with mostly Syrian ‘asylum seekers’ flooding into the country from Turkey!

As Bulgarian citizens have suspected, some of the ‘downtrodden’ are likely Islamic terrorists in refugee clothing.

Here is the story at novinite.com (Sofia news agency).  Emphasis below is mine:

There are four persons among the refugees on Bulgarian territory suspected to be a possible threat to national security, says Interior Minister, Tsvetlin Yovchev.

The Minister explained these individuals are accommodated in secured facilities in awaiting the appropriate procedures for their extradition, already undertaken by the authorities.

Yovchev did not specify their native countries, but noted the well-known fact that the majority of the refugees are from Syria.

He explained that in 2013 Bulgaria has improved the pace of extradition of foreign suspects.

[…..]

Bulgaria is the gateway to the European Union for refugees fleeing Syria via Turkey, many crossing the border illegally to seek asylum.

Readers, the other day, here, we were reminded by Britain’s Independence Party leader, Gerard Batten, that legitimate refugees are to seek asylum in the first safe country in which they land (it is not supposed to be a shopping expedition for the country of one’s choice!).  So the question is–-is Turkey letting them waltz right through their safe country and exit out the other side?

I hope readers here are not getting weary of all of our posts on Europe recently, but in my mind the Muslim invasion of Europe holds lessons for all of us concerned with the preservation of Western civilization.

Next!  A post on the US and more on how the refugee program is being slowed by the government shutdown.  Update:  Here it is.

Comment worth noting: Swedish Tsarnaev wannabes?

Reader ‘pungentpeppers’ tells us a story from August that we didn’t know about—two Swedish citizens, brothers, of Lebanese descent joined the Jihad in Syria by traveling there using their travel-the-world-free card, a Swedish passport.  Our reader asks if Sweden bears any responsibility for allowing its citizens to go to another country to kill people?  A question that should be asked of the US State Department and Homeland Security too, should it turn out that we also gave citizenship to Somali refugees who then traveled on a US passport to kill scores of innocent shoppers in Kenya.

The story bears an eerie resemblance to the Tsarnaev Boston Bomber family except that these brothers didn’t kill their fellow citizens.   Emphasis is mine.

A pair of Swedish brothers, one of them a suicide bomber and the other a jihadi fighter, entered Syria by way of Lebanon, using their Swedish passports. The younger brother, named Moatassem al-Hassan, age 18, blew himself up this past August in a suicide bombing at a Syrian army checkpoint in the province of Homs. The other, Hassan al-Hassan, 20, was killed in a related military operation against the Syrian army.  Both brothers were fighting for a radical Islamic group named Jund al-Sham with links to al-Qaeda.

Moatassem al-Hassan: Swedish citizen suicide bomber

While still in Sweden just a year ago, Hassan, the elder brother, had started his university studies. And had he stayed in Scandinavia, Moatasem would have started his degree this year. “But they left everything and travelled back to Mankubeen, where their parents have been living for two years now,” said Jihad, a cousin. [This family resemble the Tsarnaevs. One son started college, but didn’t continue, and both mom and dad had left their sons behind when they returned to live in the good old country.]

“And like Tamerlan Tsarnaev who traveled to Chechnya where it is believed he received terrorist training, these brothers traveled to Lebanon to learn the terrorist trade. However, unlike the Tsarnaevs, they never made it back to the West.”

The brothers were members of a large Lebanese Sunni family who are known for violence. Their brother Rabih died in street fighting in Lebanon. Their uncle Saddam, a man with close ties to Al-Qaeda’s Ayman al-Zawahri, blew himself up in a suicide bombing in Tripoli, Lebanon. Another uncle, Youssef al-Hajj Dib, is serving a life sentence in Germany after he planted two bombs on passenger trains. A catastrophe was averted because those bombs failed to detonate. Perhaps it was a blessing for Sweden that these two Swedish citizens left and did not come back.  For if they had returned to Sweden, they might have emulated their uncle Youssef, the “suitcase bomber”, and tried to blow up a train or two.

Doesn’t the Swedish government bear any responsibility? It allowed its citizens to go to another country and kill their citizens. Is the purpose of citizenship just to give a passport to someone so that they can gain financial benefit and ease of travel? The recipient need show neither responsibility nor commitment to Sweden? What type of perverted “citizenship” is this?

Although they are Swedish citizens, Middle Easterners consider these two “martyrs” to be Lebanese. Their homicidal acts in Syria threatened the stability of Lebanon and pushed that poor country towards the same road of terrible destruction faced by the Syrians. These brothers were handed all of the advantages that life in Sweden offered: money, a chance to study, the opportunity to create a good life. But Islam and Martyrdom, and Jihad in a country that is not your own, were more important than Swedish peace and secularism.

‘Pungentpeppers’ sent us three links, here, here, and here to read the details of the sorry tale.

My solution:  If you can’t sort them out in advance, you don’t let any of them in!

Readers we have written many many posts on the mess Sweden is in.  Go here to learn more.

Also, we have a category that we haven’t used much lately entitled “comments worth noting” for readers who submit a comment that is worth posting more visibly, like this one.

UNHCR: Millions on the move around the world to escape conflict/war

And, in almost every case it’s Islamic-generated chaos and violence they are escaping.

UNHCR Guterres, a longtime Socialist who never lets a good crisis go to waste!

Actually the High Commissioner, Antonio Guterres didn’t say that.  He never would say something so politically incorrect.

Do you know who did say something taboo?  Sarah Palin.  In a speech in Washington, DC last weekend, Palin said, referencing the conflict in Syria, these are all Muslims squabbling, so maybe we should just let Allah sort it out.

Here is the obligatory World Refugee Day story from the UN:

GENEVA, Switzerland – War and other crises drove one person from their home every 4.1 seconds in 2012, the UN’s refugee agency said Wednesday, June 19, pushing the number of people forcibly displaced to a two-decade high of 45.2 million.

All told, the UNCHR’s annual figures showed 1.1 million people fled across international borders in 2012, while 6.5 million were displaced within their homelands.

“This means one in each 4.1 seconds. So each time you blink, another person is forced to flee,” Antonio Guterres, the UN high commissioner for refugees, told reporters.

The total figure of 45.2 million included 28.8 million internally displaced people, 15.4 million border-crossing refugees, and 937,000 asylum seekers.

Muslim countries, Muslim countries and more Muslim countries creating refugees!

War is the main reason for this very high number of refugees and people internally displaced. Fifty-five percent of them correspond to the well-known situations of Afghanistan, Somalia, Iraq, Sudan, and Syria,” Guterres said.

Overall, Afghanistan remained the world’s top producer of refugees, a position it has held for 32 years. Worldwide, one refugee in four is Afghan.

Guterres also blamed conflicts in Mali, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Central African Republic.

Guterres then discussed the latest Muslim vs. Muslim conflict in Syria and reported that they aren’t ready yet to send Syrians to your towns!

“We witness a multiplication of new conflicts, and it seems that old conflicts never die,” he said.

Guterres pointed out that the number of people who had fled the spiraling violence in Syria had soared from 650,000 at the end of 2012 to around 1.6 million now, surpassing last year’s total from all conflicts.

The UNHCR has warned that Syrian refugee numbers could hit 3.5 million by the end of this year, while there are also fears that the number currently displaced within the country, 4.25 million, will also climb.

Syrian refugees have flooded into neighboring Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey and Iraq, stretching those nations’ ability to cope.

Guterres urged the international community to help shoulder the load, although he said UNHCR-brokered resettlement programs for Syrians in rich countries were not yet on the cards.

NOT YET, but they sure are sending out feelers as we learned recently, here.  Although that news came as a big surprise to the Senate Republican brain trust of Rubio and Graham, here.
