So-called SAFE Act fails in the Senate, contractors crow

As we told you a couple of days ago, the federal refugee resettlement contractors were whipping their forces to tell their Senators to oppose a bill that had passed the House in November with broad bipartisan support.  The contractors were so afraid of losing their Muslim ‘clients’ (a large portion of those for which they are paid by the head to bring to your towns).

Senate Dems showed their abject fear of Trump by bringing him into the debate as they did.

Yesterday, the Senate failed to get cloture and move the bill with enough votes to assure Obama would not veto it.  From insiders we learned that the bill, if it ever passed and was signed by Obama, would have been a fig leaf and not done much to keep us safe from terrorists getting into your neighborhoods from places like Syria and Iraq.
The vote, however, was informative.  All Democrats except Bernie Sanders who missed the vote, and two brave souls, voted to kill the bill. Republicans including the three US Senators running for President voted to move the bill.
The two Dems who bucked the party (and the grassroots working for contractors) were West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin and North Dakota Senator Heidi Heitkamp.
Here is the roll call vote.
This is what Reuters says about the vote:

U.S. Senate Democrats on Wednesday narrowly blocked legislation that would slow the entry of refugees from Syria and Iraq to the United States in a contentious vote cloaked in presidential election-year politics.

Manchin and Heitkamp
Democratic Senators Manchin and Heitkamp voted with Republicans to at least say they have concerns about security screening for refugees from Syria and Iraq.

The vote was 55-43, with “yes” votes falling short of the 60 needed to advance the Republican-backed measure in the 100-member Senate. No Republicans voted against the bill, and only two Democrats backed it.

Among other things, the bill would halt the admission of refugees and require high-level U.S. officials to verify that each refugee from Iraq and Syria posed no security risk before being allowed into the United States.  [This is the part of the bill that was so weak because the Obama Administration (and a Hillary one too) would simply verify that screening was adequate.—ed]

Republicans said the tighter screening was essential to ensure the safety of Americans and prevent attacks within the country by Islamic State and other militant groups.

“This bipartisan bill would allow Washington to step back, take a breath and ensure it has the correct policies and security screenings in place,” Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said in the Senate before the vote.

[….]

All three Senate Republican 2016 presidential hopefuls, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio, backed the bill. Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders missed the vote.

Dems tried and failed to bring Donald Trump into the debate.  Who in their right mind would have gone along with this trick!

Democrats also sought to play politics. They tried and failed to reach a deal with Republicans to set up a vote on an amendment establishing a religious test for would-be immigrants.

That vote was planned to see if Republicans would side against presidential candidate Donald Trump, who has advocated barring Muslims from entering the United States.

The Syria refugee bill passed the House by a large margin days after the Nov. 13 Islamic State attacks in Paris. The bill was supported by dozens of Democrats who defied Democratic President Barack Obama’s veto threat.

There is mention in the story that refugees are screened for 18-24 months which is a joke.  They are briefly screened, then they wait for their plane tickets and their assignments to your towns!
Conclusion!  Democrats, except those in West Virginia and North Dakota, are on the side of flooding America with refugees from terror-producing countries.  That is pretty clear.
And, it is also pretty clear that there is much work ahead (Congress is not going to save us!) during Election 2016 to educate the public through whatever means possible about the Refugee Admissions Program which is being effectively directed by the United Nations choosing America’s refugees.

Ottawa: Not enough low income housing for number of Syrians arriving in the capital

Oopsy!  New Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s big promises hit another road block.

Trudeau home
Maybe Justin could make room for a few hundred at his new home!

There are 10,000 poor Canadians on a waiting list to get housing in Ottawa so now 450 Syrians are on hold living in temporary housing as Catholics and others scramble to find homes for families that are much larger than originally anticipated.
From CBC News:

An agency struggling to cope with the surge of government-sponsored Syrian refugees arriving in Ottawa has asked for — and received — a pause to let them find suitable housing for families already here.

The Catholic Centre for Immigrants, the agency overseeing the arrival of government-sponsored Syrian refugees in Ottawa, reported that all 450 temporary housing spots were full, since many of the families have not yet been able to secure permanent housing. [Why aren’t the Catholics concerned with Canadian poor people?—ed]

[….]

Ottawa expects to welcome about 1,200 Syrians by the end of February. So far, about 500 have arrived.

So which impoverished and disabled Canadians will they bump from the waiting list?

Also complicating resettlement efforts is the city’s centralized waiting list for affordable housing, which stands at 10,000 requests with an estimated wait of five years.

See our extensive archive on Canada by clicking here.
The shortage of affordable housing is one of the main impediments for the refugee contractors here in the US, in Canada and around the world. So make sure that the feds don’t arrive in your town passing out the big bucks to local governments to build more housing.

The housing will be immigrants not your own poor people!

***Update*** Yikes! No sooner had I posted this and I see Vancouver doesn’t have enough housing either! See here.
And, more turmoil and confusion in Canada over who pays the airfare for the Syrians. What a mess!

Big deal! (Not!) So-called SAFE Act expected on the Senate floor tomorrow

I have to make myself write about this mostly because I am so sick of Congress pretending to do something about some of the greatest issues we face—this time the expected arrival of tens of thousands of unscreened Syrian refugees.  This bill is fig leaf, they think we are dumb!
And because I’m bored and disgusted you can read all about it here at World Net Daily when it passed the House in the wake of the Paris terrorist attack.
But to see the HUGE grassroots campaign the federally-funded refugee resettlement contractors are undertaking you would think the bill (assuming it passes AND is signed into law by Obama) would actually slow their flow of mostly Muslim refugees they want to move into your towns and cities.  They are screaming bloody murder!
This is from a campaign launched by one of their latest fronts #WeWelcomeRefugees.  (If you look closely, it is the same gang, just a new-sounding name.)
Here is what our old pals at Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) are telling their followers:

Wahhhh! Don’t let those meanies take away our Syrians and Iraqis! (We get paid by the head to drop them in your towns!)

From LIRS lobbyist Brittney Nystrom:

BrittneyNystrom_290 (1)
Brittney Nystrom LIRS lobbyist: “Make certain that in 2016 America stands for renewed hope not renewed hate.”

We hope you are well-rested from your Christmas and New Year celebrations because we need your help! Urge your Senators to vote with compassion next week on a bill that would cripple the United States’ refugee program’s ability to protect the most vulnerable.

[….]

If this bill were signed into law, it would become nearly impossible to welcome certain refugees. Further, the bill subjects Syrian and Iraqi refugees to differential treatment and intense scrutiny as a means of preventing their resettlement in the United States. [I agree, they should have added all the refugees from Muslim countries including Somalia!—ed]

This reactionary bill passed the House of Representatives just days after the tragic attacks in Paris, displaying a lack of understanding of the robust [What the h*** is ‘robust?’ so sick of that word!—ed] and secure vetting process before a refugee is admitted to the United States. In fact, many Representatives who initially voted for the bill signaled regret later.

LIRS believes, based on over 75 years of experience resettling refugees, that our resettlement system must not be foreclosed to the most vulnerable, including Syrians and Iraqis …..

Go here to read the rest and see how they are urging their Open Borders friends to call their Senators before tomorrow.

‘Faith leaders’ in support of more Muslim migration to America!

Is your rabbi, pastor or priest on the list?
By far the most useful information Ms. Nystrom provides is this list of all the “faith” leaders on the ‘religious Left’ who support MORE Muslim migration to America, more ‘unaccompanied alien children’ for your towns, and who were involved I’m sure in lobbying for the Gang of Eight (amnesty) bill as LIRS did as well.
There is even a state-by-state list of the clergy “welcoming” Muslim migrants to your towns!  Go here and also (quickly) save the list!

CIS study: UN is choosing who will be NEW Americans!

UNHCR Grandi
The new UNHCR is Fillipo Grandi who will now be deciding which Syrians will be coming to your towns. http://www.unhcr.org/pages/49c3646c8.html

Time to get the United Nations out of this process?

You have heard me say for years that the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is choosing the refugees arriving in your American towns.  Now, Nayla Rush at the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington, DC has done her homework and explains how the process works.
For all of you worried about security screening for Syrian (and other refugees from terror-producing countries), continue to be afraid.
Here is just a small bit of Rush’s important (sourced) report:

What is not common knowledge is that we are also giving another group of people a delicate assignment to accomplish within the refugee resettlement program. Whether this is being accomplished successfully is open to question.

The United States is entrusting the staff of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) with the entire selection and pre-screening process of Syrian refugees eligible for resettlement in the United States. “UNHCR is the United States’ largest partner overseas. We provide substantial funding to that agency,” said Larry Bartlett from the State Department.11 The United States has donated $4.5 billion to UNHCR since the beginning of the Syrian crisis in 2011. For those who question its humanitarian outreach, the United States is the most generous donor to the refugee cause of any nation in the world.  [For new readers:  See Larry Bartlett in action in Twin Falls, Idaho last fall by clicking here.  Is he working for Chobani Yogurt by supplying the company with cheap labor?]

[….]

The UNHCR is deciding not only who can move to the United States, it is also choosing who gets a chance to become American and who doesn’t. Given such high stakes, Americans should be encouraged to question this opaque system.

Read it all.
I would love to see some brave Members of Congress, or a Senator or two, demand that we choose our own refugees and get the United Nations out of the selection process!
Stop funding any function of the UNHCR which select ‘new Americans.’  Let them take care of refugees elsewhere.

Missoula, Montana! Beware! Refugees could soon be on the way

Forty eight states resettle refugees. Wyoming has no refugee program. However, over the years a trickle have gone to Montana. All that could soon change if a supposed ‘non-profit’ group hooks up with the refugee resettlement behemoth, the International Rescue Committee to open an office in Missoula.

Stacy Rye

The local city council has already expressed interest in pursuing the idea of bringing 100 refugees a year to ‘Big Sky Country.’
And, as all of you living in refugee-overloaded communities know—you do not get to control how many refugees will come!
They might say 100 now, but I guarantee it will be 200, 300, more, as each year passes. And, the reason for that is that the “seed” families will be able to bring their relatives and it never ends!  If your community complains later you will be vilified for wanting to stop “family reunification!”

I am here to tell you Montana, that once the seeds of resettlement are planted in the state there will be no stopping it!

Here is the story at NBC Montana:

MISSOULA, Mont. –
Missoula residents could possibly see a refugee resettlement office in the future. Missoula County commissioners signed off on a letter of support on Thursday. The letter outlines supporting approximately 100 refugees per year.

A group of residents is working to bring the International Rescue Committee to Missoula. The IRC helps provide health care, learning and economic support for people in more than 40 countries. They resettle thousands of refugees each year in 26 U.S. cities.

“I can’t imagine families in the world not having another place to go, and they can’t go home, and the U.S. is the land of opportunity,” said Missoula County Commissioner Stacy Rye.

Rye signed a letter along with the other commissioners showing support for a group of volunteers in Missoula called Soft Landing, who are working to bring refugees to the area.

“Being on the positive side of things, where you can affect the positive change in lives is hugely important,” said Mary Poole, with Soft Landing.

Soft Landing is working through an application process with the IRC.

Mary Poole
Mary Poole, Soft Landing, is working with the IRC to bring the first 100 refugees to Montana. Her organization will receive payment on a per head basis from the IRC, a federal contractor (your tax dollars). Photo: http://missoulian.com/news/local/refugee-crisis-soft-landing-group-initiates-plans-for-missoula-resettlement/article_33c84357-8f46-50cb-b8bb-cea654dd047f.html

The International Rescue Committee, a half a billion dollar a year organization, headquartered in New York City and headed by David Miliband, the former British Foreign Secretary and bff Hillary Clinton and George Soros will be calling the shots for Montana!  See our massive archive on the IRC by clicking here (find out who you are getting in bed with!).
Miliband is calling for the resettlement of 100,000 Syrian refugees to be admitted to the US in the next year.  Do you really believe he will not bring any to Montana???
Montana readers must immediately contact all of your elected officials and tell them NO!  The most important thing you need to make clear to them is that even if they say only 100 will come to Montana, they are lying!

Local county councils have NO authority to set the number!

If you live somewhere else in the country and are experiencing horrific refugee overload problems, please take a few minutes and write to the Missoula County Commissioners, and politely explain why they should not go down this road!
Maybe the Commissioners could call the mayor of Amarillo, TX and he could explain what happened to them and how they now can’t slow the flow.
Or, they might call the mayor of Manchester, NH, Springfield, MA, or Lewiston, ME.  And, last I heard the mayor of Athens, Georgia kept the IRC out!
They are running out of ‘welcoming’ communities and unsuspecting communities like Missoula, Montana are in their crosshairs!
We have written about Montana previously, click here for older posts.
***Update*** Make sure Montanans know that the United Nations is choosing our refugees!  Click here and here.  Local government officials will have NO SAY!
