That is my guess! How else would a then 16-year-old Mexican, who entered the country in 2013, be now “legal” in the US. Only the Office of Refugee Resettlement knows for sure!
One of Obama’s new Americans, Jesus Yeizon Deniz Mendoza demanded money and when they said they had none, he shot the parents and wounded the daughter as she tried to run away.
Have you seen this dreadful story? Has Donald Trump seen it?
From theWashington Times:
The man accused of killing two Good Samaritans who tried to help him on a Montana roadside was encountered by immigration authorities earlier this year after a burglary arrest, but was unable to be deported because he had already gotten legal status, federal authorities said this week.
The horrific killing has drawn attention at a time when crimes committed by immigrants are a hot political topic, thanks in part to GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s claim that Mexican society sends bad elements to the U.S.
Jesus Yeizon Deniz Mendoza, an 18-year-old Mexican man, has been charged with the killing of Jason and Tana Shane, who saw him stopped on the side of the road Wednesday and tried to help him. When they showed up on the scene with their daughter, Mr. Deniz pointed a gun at them and demanded money, according to an FBI affidavit filed in the federal court case.
[….]
Mr. Deniz is Mexican, and the Obama administration deems him a legal permanent resident who entered the country legally on May 31, 2013 — though they didn’t say how he earned that status initially.
There is more including a discussion about deporting him when he finishes his sentence. That is b.s. because he will likely get life in prison (does Montana have the death penalty?) and we will be paying probably millions for his legal proceedings and his incarceration for years to come. A great benefit this young “dreamer” is to America!
I sure hope we learn more about this evil man’s “legal” status in America!
For new readers we have an entire lengthy archive on so-called ‘unaccompanied minors’ who have been invading our southern border for years.
The Obama Administration is writing refugee law with its new Central American Minors “refugee” resettlement plan. And, apparently Congress is unwilling to defend its power under the Constitution. So what else is new! The “children” won’t need to ride in on top of a train. We are flying them in just as we do refugees from around the world. http://www.tucsonweekly.com/TheRange/archives/2015/02/09/immigration-officials-announce-an-in-country-refugee-parole-program-for-central-american-minors
This so-called Central American Minors Refugee/Parole Program(known as CAM) has simply rewritten the definition of the word refugee. Legitimate refugees are by international law and US law supposed to be able to prove they have been persecuted for one of several reasons—religion, political view, membership in certain groups, and race. People looking to improve their economic condition are not refugees! See my earlier post here for more.
This is a good article at Newsday, focused mostly on the NY, Long Island area but it gives us some useful updated information. Thanks to reader Chris for sending it. There is also a map which shows where the tens of thousands of ‘children’ (mostly teenage boys) were distributed around the US in the last year or so.
Ostensibly the program is meant to stem the illegal invasion of the border, but it isn’t. It is really, in my view, meant to expand the definition of ‘refugees’ and eventually, I predict, it will be available to other poor people in other third world hellholes way beyond Central America.
I’ve snipped just a small amount of the article, but there is much more so please read the whole thing!
Hundreds of Central American children are seeking to come to Long Island and other parts of the nation on a new path carved by President Barack Obama for minors “at risk of harm” in their home countries, according to a federal agency and a local resettlement group.
Children from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala who prove they are fleeing danger will be placed on flights to airports where their parents will meet them. The number coming will be limited by the program’s rules, as well as yearly quotas for refugees from Latin America and the Caribbean, officials said.
Refugee contractors monopolize the program! Rep. Peter King, chairman of important House Homeland Security subcommittee is OK with this illegal expansion of refugee law!
In this next section we get further evidence that this program is also a boon to our usual cabal of ‘non-profit’ resettlement contractors because they are PAID to process the children. One is not even permitted to use other help to process in one’s children, applications must go through groups like Catholic Charities! Newsday continues:
As of June, about 200 petitions had been filed under the new initiative by immigrants seeking to legally bring their children to Long Island — mostly from El Salvador — and another 200 were waiting to file their requests, said Carmen Maquilon, immigrant refugee services director at Catholic Charities in Amityville. The nonprofit is the only group authorized in Nassau and Suffolk counties to file those requests for admission as refugees or immigration parole recipients with the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program.
[…]
Applications reported
The U.S. Department of State, which administers the new program for minors, reported receiving 1,385 individual applications from throughout the United States as of June 8 — 1,139 for children in El Salvador, 21 for children in Guatemala and 225 for children in Honduras. The agency did not say how many of the applications were from New York.
So much for help from Congress!
U.S. Rep. Peter King (R-Seaford), whose district includes communities where many immigrants’ kids have resettled, said he is not opposed to the refugee program.
Back in 2013, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (one of nine federal resettlement contractors) sent a delegation to Central America and returned to write a report that predicted that 60,000 unaccompanied alien children would flood our southern border in 2014. They hit the number almost exactly on the head. I’ve wondered ever since if they were good guessers or if they actually went to Central America and LIT THE FUSE on the invasion. Here is one postwhere I mention my theory. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if some investigative reporter dug into what happened on that Bishops’ trip in 2013!
By the way, the Catholic Charities office mentioned in the Newsday article is a subcontractor of the USCCB.
All of our posts on the illegal alien ‘children’ going back many years, are archived with the phrase ‘unaccompanied minors.‘ Today, I primarily use the phrase ‘unaccompanied alien children.’
So much for the Obama Administration helping ‘the children!’
This is an editorial that follows last week’s newsthat ‘unaccompanied alien children,’ teens who got across the US border last year in the invasion, were allegedly handed over, by the agency charged with their care, to traffickers who have exploited them inside the US. You can read all about the original indictment against 4 men who acted as employment contractors for this massive egg farm. The farm itself is apparently not implicated, but the story mentioning the farm adds more facts to bolster our oft-repeated theory that illegal and LEGAL immigrants are desired by large agribusiness looking for cheap (and in this case apparently slave) labor. And, that is why politicians on both sides of the aisle support amnesty and open borders. I wonder what agribusinesses bankroll Jeb Bush! http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2015/07/02/Four-indicted-in-egg-farm-labor-ring.html
From The Columbus Dispatch:
The idea that people as young as 14 were being held as virtual slaves and forced by their captors to work at egg farms in Marion County was shocking enough. The revelation that they may have been put in the situation by the federal agency charged with protecting them is worse.
It calls for a swift investigation, and Ohio Sen. Rob Portman is in the right position to see that one happens.
[….]
On Monday, Portman released a letter he sent to Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell, demanding information about operations of the department’s Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). Among other responsibilities, the office is charged with overseeing unaccompanied minors who are in the U.S. illegally. The office is supposed to ensure that such children are placed with qualified adult sponsors who can protect the children’s physical and mental health.
[….]
According to the indictment unsealed on July 2, when the unaccompanied children were detained at the border, at least five of the teenagers were put in ORR detention facilities. That’s where their story should have gotten better.
From October through May, close to 18,000 unaccompanied minors were referred to ORR, which released more than 15,000 of them to sponsors.
Calling Ann Coulter (and Donald Trump)!
Here are the names of the men (the labor contractors!) indicted. How much do you want to bet that they are here illegally!
The charges, announced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio in Cleveland, are against Aroldo Castillo-Serrano, 33, of Pecos, Texas; Conrado Salgado Soto, 52, of Raymond; Ana Angelica Pedro Juan, 21, of Columbus; and Juan Pablo Duran Jr., 23, of Marysville.
And, here is what we learn about Trillium farms:
Trillium has not been charged, and company officials said in a statement that they were misled by the companies these four ran and that Trillium contracted with for labor.
Remember readers that the federal resettlement contractors, their friends in the NO borders movement and the Obama Administration like to hide under their white hat of humanitarianism, but it always goes back to one driving force I am sorry to say—it is all about the money! Feeling good about themselves and bringing in more reliable Leftwing voters are the benies on the side.
We have an extensive archive (here) going back for several years about ‘unaccompanied minors’ as they were originally called. We call them ‘unaccompanied alien children’ now.
Not to be forgotten in the whole discussion of the ‘children’ (mostly teenage boys) coming across our borders illegally is the Obama Administration’s plans to use them to expand the definition of what is a ‘refugee’ traditionally someone who has been persecuted for a very specific set of reasons. These teens are economic migrants, not legitimate refugees!
See our Ohio archive here.
Update: Reader Julie sent the FBI press release from earlier this month, check it out here.
Whew! This is some incredible bit of news about Unaccompanied Alien Children who might have been trafficked with the help of the Office of Refugee Resettlement, the agency charged with keeping them safe. Some of the ‘children’ may have been handed over to traffickers once in the US!
From the Columbus Dispatch (hat tip: Julie):
A federal indictment that charged four people with illegally smuggling Guatemalan teenagers into the United States and forcing them to work at Ohio egg farms indicates that some of the teens had gone through an immigration process that might have put them directly into the hands of the traffickers.
Republican U.S. Sen. Rob Portman, chairman of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and co-chairman of the Senate Caucus to End Human Trafficking, said that’s alarming.
He sent a letter on Monday demanding answers from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees the process for unaccompanied minors who come into this country and are then apprehended by immigration officials.
According to the charges against those accused of running the forced-labor ring, at least five of the victims had been through a process involving the Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) in which unaccompanied immigrant children are placed under the care and custody of the ORR office.
Federal law requires that that office be responsible for all aspects of their care until a sponsor comes forward and seeks custody. ORR’s website refers to its “strong policies” in place because “these children may have histories of abuse or may be seeking safety from threats of violence. They may have been trafficked or smuggled.”
The government’s website says that sponsors are generally family members, must have passed a background check and must agree that they will adequately care for the children, keep them safe from abuse and cooperate with the immigration process.
In this case, the indictment said the traffickers recruited vulnerable Guatemalan juveniles and brought them to the U.S., then arranged to “have an associate falsely represent himself to immigration officials as the victim’s family friend and submit fraudulent Family Reunification Applications to ORR.”
Over the years we have written often about the Unaccompanied Alien Children which were previously referred to as Unaccompanied Minors. So all of our posts are archived under that second term—Unaccompanied Minors.
Michigan Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence cheers the news that more money is coming to her district for illegal aliens magically transformed into refugees.
What she won’t understand until it is too late, is that the arrival of thousands of refugees in Michigan will squeeze Americans, especially the African Americans, at the bottom rung of the pay scale. Michigan is in the top five states receiving refugees and yet they are adding alien children into the mix.
But, what the heck, even as states increase poverty, these ‘church’ groups have to make a living!
WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has awarded a Michigan social services group $2.2 million to house unaccompanied immigrant children, U.S. Rep. Brenda Lawrence announced today.
US Rep Brenda Lawrence is happy that the Lutherans are flooding Michigan with refugees and alien children.
It was not immediately known how many children would receive or had received residential services under the grant to Lutheran Social Services of Michigan or whether any other groups were receiving grants in the state as well.
No surprise! No one will return calls!
Calls and emails to Lutheran Social Services of Michigan and the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, from the Free Press seeking more information were not immediately returned.
According to data on the ORR’s website, only 235 unaccompanied immigrant children had been placed in Michigan in the last two years, far less than the number placed in neighboring states including Ohio. [I wonder if the new grant is in anticipation of Michigan getting more of the UACs—ed]
[….]
Some 63,000 undocumented children have been placed throughout the U.S. in the last two years, the ORR’s website said.
In announcing the grant, Lawrence, D-Southfield, said the grant assists unaccompanied minors who “seek relief from the violence and poverty that threatens their very existence in their home countries.”
They can hardly be described as being faith-based while living off of taxpayer boodle! Doesn’t sound like Christian charity to me!
“Lutheran Social Services truly lives up to their faith-based mission statement to serve the people most in need of help and I am proud to see them receive this substantial federal grant,” she said, adding that she believes it also time for Congress to address comprehensive immigration reform.
Lutheran Social Services of Michigan is the largest refugee resettlement agency in the state, Lawrence said, providing thousands of families from dozens of countries.
So, it is the Lutherans resettling most of the Muslim refugees to Michigan?
For new readers, for years we have covered the ‘unaccompanied minors’ (one of the government’s original names for the youths illegally crossing the border). Click here for all of our previous posts.
The US Conference of Catholic Bishops and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service were the two ‘big dogs’ doing the “resettlement” of the children (Obama’s new refugees) until two other federal contractors eclipsed them. Grant recipients Baptist Child and Family Services and Southwest Key Programs are now on the scene devouring federal cash as well.
