Senegal wants Haitians as recruits for Islam?

Just now I reported that France wants Haitian refugees. O.K!  Let the French fight that out.   Now comes news that the West African nation of Senegal is attempting to lure Haitians back to Africa with promises of land.  Why?

That is the question that this California-based website, Hogue News, is asking and answering, here.

The country has been warned of fraudulent online websites, embarrassed by the comments offered by aging televangelist Pat Robertson, and cautiously concerned that our own government might not want to “waist a good tragedy” for political gain.

Today there should be (there won’t be due to political correctness) a growing concern with the offer from the government of Senegal; the regime in the Capitol of Dakar has openly offered Haitian Refugees “free land” throughout the West-African nation.

From the Associated Press, “Senegal is offering free land to Haitians wishing to “return to their origins” following last week’s devastating earthquake … Senegal’s octogenarian president, Abdoulaye Wade, told a meeting of his advisers that Haitians are the sons and daughters of Africa … and Senegal is ready to offer them parcels of land -even an entire region. It all depends upon how many Haitians come.”

Why would an impoverished country entice the residency of more impoverished people?

Senegal is 96% Islamic!

In September of 2008 I personally spent 10-days in Senegal.

Five days in Dakar I walked through new economic growth along the coastline – growth entirely funded by Islamic money and influence. As I traveled 6-hours north to the fishing city of St. Louis, the same held true, new (remedial) development surrounding mosques and Islamic geography throughout my tour.

I spoke with many citizens of Senegal and asked about the ‘re-birth’ of portions of their country. The response was credited to the religion of Islam across the land. But many spoke with great fear; sighting events of manipulation, intimidation and the removal of all of religions from the public square.

Today, Senegal is 96-percent Islamic.

No reason to recruit impoverished refugees to a poor nation other than Islamic indoctrination

There are sincere efforts to help the Haitian people mounting, and there are insincere efforts to acquire personal gain off of millions of human beings who are dealing with a threat of personal destruction.

I am not saying that Islam is a terrorist religion, but I am saying there are those who wear the cloak of Islam who are. In Senegal, there is no other reason for refugee recruitment than to indoctrinate a radical presentation of Islam.

As we debate relief efforts and self-aggrandizing we should be very weary [wary?] of Senegal’s attempt to gather more numbers for their Islamic population – that, in many ways – is nothing more than a draft for future assignments inside of a radical theological fringe of Islam.

Where is the Muslim charity in Haiti?

Isn’t it peculiar to read that relief efforts and organizations that are mobilizing money, materials and members to rescue Haitians are many; but I have yet to read, or hear, of any sincere effort from Islamic charity (which we read about a plenty inside of the US) – other than recruitment into a nation that has determined its future rests with Islam’s investment and indoctrination?

My opinion here; sending Haitian refugees to Senegal is a very dangerous consideration.

Sounds like African Islamists are following the Saul Alinsky/Rahm Emanuel method of bringing about political change—never let a good crisis go to waste.

Blogger says France is going to take Haitian refugees

I just came across this blog, GalliaWatch, that says the following about its mission:

To help you stay au courant of what French patriots are doing and saying in this time of turmoil and loss of nationhood. This website is for those with a limited knowledge of French and a boundless interest in saving European cultures from extinction.

Yesterday the blog posted this story (apparently the original is in French), this is how it begins:

Eric Besson, Minister of Immigration, Integration and National Identity has decided to implement an exceptional set of temporary measures to bring victims of the earthquake into France. The article from François Desouche uses information from OFII (Bureau of Immigration and Integration) as the source:

These measures include:

– An easing of the terms for family reunification. Nearly 80,000 Haitian nationals reside in France and have family members affected by the catastrophe in Haiti.

– Facilities coordinated for the issuing of visas for visits to the families.

– Visas and residence authorizations issued on humanitarian grounds to victims whose health requires specialized treatment in France.

“France’s response must rise to the level of her republican traditions of welcome, solidarity and humanity, and to the profound historic and cultural ties she maintains with the Haitian people. In such terrifying and painful circumstances, all of our efforts must be focused on helping the Haitians,” Eric Besson concluded.

Read on.

Meanwhile, according to the UK Telegraph a diplomatic row has developed with the French accusing the US military of occupying Haiti!

So, in light of all this information, and although the good folks at GalliaWatch wouldn’t be happy, how about if the US just backs off and lets France take care of  the Haiti problem!

See our new category on Haiti, here.   This is our third post this morning on the sure to be hot topic for weeks and months to come.

Chicago: Somali in refugee neighborhood sets arson fire, kills neighbor, firefighters injured

My Somali crime stories* have been on the back burner lately as we try to get a handle on the fast-moving Haitian refugee issue.  But, here is terrible Somali crime news from Chicago reported at Debbie Schlussel and sent to me by Janet.

From the Chicago Sun Times:

An irate taxi driver involved in a long-running dispute with two neighbors intentionally set fire to a Rogers Park apartment building, killing one person and injuring five others, prosecutors said.

Mahad Ali Hassan, a 26-year-old Somali immigrant, was denied bail Sunday on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated arson and unlawful use of a weapon.

Hassan, who lived on the fourth floor of the five-story building at 6720 N. Sheridan, allegedly poured gasoline in the hallway Thursday and ignited a blaze outside the fifth-floor apartment of two women with whom he had an ongoing feud, prosecutors said.

Arson investigators also found evidence that gasoline was used to ignite a second fire on the fifth floor outside the apartment of Noor Surani, 49.

Surani died of smoke inhalation.

Five other people were injured in the blaze, including one man who jumped from the building’s top floor to escape the fire.

Of the injured — including two firefighters — only the jumper suffered life-threatening injuries, Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said.

There is more, read it all.

Learn more about Rogers Park, a section of Chicago in which the US State Department (with their friend Ed Silverman, the Illinois state refugee coordinator) is resettling hundreds (thousands?) of refugees inspite of reports that the neighborhood is a slum and a crime mecca, here.  Of course, maybe this is the old chicken or egg story, which came first, crime, or refugees?

* Here are two of our most recent Somali crime stories:  Minneapolis triple-murder, here, and Lewiston Somali woman runs down high school student with her Mercedes, here.

For new readers :

The US State Department has admitted over 80,000 Somali refugees to the US (this linked post continues to be one of the most widely read posts we have ever written) in the last 25 years and then last year had to suspend family reunification because widespread immigration fraud was revealed through DNA testing.  That specific program has not yet been reopened (that we know of), but will be soon.  Nevertheless, thousands of Somali Muslims continue to be resettled as I write this.

Washington Examiner: If Haitians try to reach US illegally, they will be sent back

Further confirming a story we have posted on previously, the Obama Administration is holding firm (so far!) when it says Haitians trying to reach the US illegally will be detained and eventually repatriated.  Hat tip:  Sue.

I’m guessing that the Obama White House has studied the history books and knows what the Mariel Boat Lift did for Jimmy Carter—added one more nail in the coffin of his Presidency.

From AP at the Washington Examiner:

MIAMI — U.S. authorities are readying for a potential influx of Haitians seeking to escape their earthquake-wracked nation, even though the policy for migrants remains the same: with few exceptions, they will go back.

So far, fears of a mass migration have yet to materialize. However, conditions in Haiti grow more dire each day and U.S. officials don’t want to be caught off guard.

Between 250 and 400 immigration detainees are being moved from South Florida’s main detention center to clear space for any Haitians who manage to reach U.S. shores, according to the Homeland Security Department. The Navy base at Guantanamo Bay could house migrants temporarily — far from suspected terrorists also being held there — and the Catholic church is working on a plan to accept Haitian orphans.

The mass migration plan, known as “Operation Vigilant Sentry,” was put in place in 2003 because of previous experiences with Caribbean migrations, said Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Chris O’Neil, spokesman for the Homeland Security Task Force Southeast that would manage any Haitian influx.

“There is no new incentive for anyone to try to enter the United States illegally by sea,” O’Neil said. “The goal is to interdict them at sea and repatriate them.”

Raymond Joseph, ambassador of Haiti in Washington, recorded a message in Creole over the weekend, warning his countrymen: “Don’t rush on boats to leave the country.”

But, it appears the Catholic Church is bent on bringing the kids.  Note that one proponent of the plan says that some of the “orphans” are “possibly without parents.” What do you mean possibly?   I recommend again, that the Catholic Church, using private donations establish a first class orphanage in Haiti and work to reunite children with their families.

U.S. policy notwithstanding, the Catholic Church in Miami is working on a proposal that would allow thousands of orphan children to come permanently to this country. A similar effort launched in 1960, known as Operation Pedro Pan, brought about 14,000 unaccompanied children from Cuba to the U.S.

Under the plan dubbed “Pierre Pan,” Haitian orphans would first be placed in group homes and then paired with foster parents, said Mary Ross Agosta, spokeswoman for the Archdiocese of Miami.

“We have children who are homeless and possibly without parents and it is the moral and humane thing to do,” Agosta said.

Officials said many details would have to be worked out and the Obama administration would have to grant orphans humanitarian parole to enter the U.S.

Update: Well, what do you know the “orphans” were granted Humanitarian Parole yesterday by Homeland Security’s Janet Napolitano, here.  Next we will have publications like this Socialist one I just told you about saying the US is stealing Haiti’s kids.

Socialist publication: US Military taking over Haiti, refugees to be imprisoned

While most Americans are proud of the US military for stepping into the void in Haiti, and American families watch loved ones leave home with only a couple days of notice to risk their lives in filth and chaos.    And, while all the news is filled with warm and fuzzy stories of American school children collecting pennies for the kids of Haiti, the World Socialist Web Site, a Socialist (really Marxist?) rag, is saying it is all about US imperialism and a plan to take over Haiti!   Hey WSWS, most Americans don’t want Haiti!

The US military intervention in Haiti is criminal in both form and content. Disguised as a humanitarian rescue operation, its main aim is to build up the necessary firepower to terrorize the masses into accepting a shocking lack of treatment without protest. Even taken on its own terms, the US occupation of Haiti has not taken the opportunities available to it to treat wounded Haitians.

This operation recalls the March 1993 US intervention in Somalia, when US forces invaded that strategically-located country, supposedly to help relieve famine. US forces were soon deeply entangled in civil war and hated by the population, leading up to a shoot-out between US forces and civilians in Mogadishu. Current US operations in Haiti are preparing similar confrontations with the population.

The rescue efforts in Haiti are held hostage by a US national security establishment that is completely impervious to popular sympathy for the victims of the earthquake, and unanswerable to the masses—of Haiti or any other country, including the US itself. Instead, as the death toll mounts, there is an unspoken but unanimous agreement in the international media that it is legitimate for the US military to dictate how operations will proceed.

And, if that is not enough they go on to say we are going to imprison refugees.  Let me tell you WSWS, a large portion of the American public thinks it’s o.k. to help Haitians where they live in the initial humanitarian rescue phase, but they needn’t come here.  Believe it or not, we don’t need more cheap labor.   Another large portion of the American public also thinks we ought to be rebuilding Detroit before we rebuild Port au Prince.

US officials are also warning Haitians that, if they try to flee from Haiti to the US, they will be deported back to Haiti. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said: “There may be an impulse to leave the island to come here. You will not qualify for TPS [Temporary Protected] status.” This would allow the US to deport them upon arrival.

Officials in Miami, a city with a large Haitian immigrant population, are watching for signs of a mass flght from Haiti to the US. Democratic Representative Kendrick B. Meek noted, “The entire community is emotionally attached to Haiti, and it’s been rough,” adding that Haitian-Americans form the bulk of the workforce for many major employers in the region. However, officials are preparing prisons for potential Haitian refugees.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that it would move 400 detainees from the Krome detention facility to an undisclosed location, to free up space in case any Haitians manage to reach US shores.

Most Americans agree that would be a prudent thing to do, even the Socialist-leaning Obama Administration knows that.

When the average American sees this attack on our generosity, the reaction is probably similar to mine—o.k. Socialists of the world just hussle yourselves to Haiti and take care of the mess and leave America alone!

Readers: It looks like Haitian refugee issues will be with us for a long time, so I’m making a new category for Haiti.   I’ll go back shortly and be sure all the posts we’ve previously written on the subject are placed in the category for your review.
