Toronto again, this time Somali terrorists

In my previous post I told you about the Ethiopian political demonstrations yesterday in Toronto and now I see that Canadian authorities think as many as twenty former refugees to Canada have joined the Jihad in Africa.   Just think how boring Canada would be without all this multicultural fun to liven things up.

From the National Post:

TORONTO — About 20 Canadians have travelled to Somalia to join Al-Shabab, a federal official said two weeks after a Toronto man was arrested as he was allegedly leaving to enlist in the al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group.

As many as three of the Canadians may have been killed so far, the official added, although such deaths are hard to verify because of the armed conflict and the lack of a diplomatic corps in Somalia.

The figures suggest the scale of Canada’s problem with Al-Shabab recruitment is comparable to that experienced by the United States and Europe, which also have sizable populations of ethnic Somalis.

The Al-Shabab threat was underscored late last month when police arrested Mohamed Hersi at Toronto’s Pearson airport. The RCMP alleged he was on his way to Somalia “to join Al-Shabab and participate in their terrorist activities.”

The 25-year-old former Toronto security guard, who is scheduled to have a bail hearing on Wednesday, was the first Canadian to be charged with terrorism offences related to Al-Shabab, but the group has been actively recruiting members in Canada for at least two years.

So what is the big worry, they are fighting and dying in Africa right?

The RCMP is concerned about the potential for violence in Canada should the Al-Shabab recruits return home with the indoctrination and the weapons training necessary to carry out terrorist attacks. A Canadian Security Intelligence Service report recently obtained by the National Post under the Access to Information Act calls foreign travel an “important part in the radicalization process” of Islamist extremists.

“Those who have jihad experience are often transformed by it and return to their home countries enthused with a zeal to convince others to share their new-found desire to defend Islam,” reads the report, marked Secret. “This combination of enthusiasm, charisma and … tales of jihad can be a potent mix that can be used to draw the vulnerable into violence. The influence that these veterans can have in their communities is significant.”

I’ve written ad nauseam about the American, Canadian and European Somalis who have thumbed their noses at the good life in the West and gone off to Africa to fight the Jihad.  Please just use our search function for more such posts.

Ethiopians protest in Toronto

Isn’t diversity just beautiful! Why the heck do we keep doing this—-allowing every African group into the West (are we bringing Libyans next*?) so we can pay for their protests as they continue their centuries-old ethnic squabbles on our streets.  Here is news from Canada.  I swear I read the story twice trying to figure out who were the good guys and who were the bad guys back in Ethiopia before I realized I didn’t care—but I suspect there is a Muslim element.

Wouldn’t it just make sense to let them fight out their civil wars in Africa?

*Oh, and Canada will likely get its Libyans too!

Ex-CIA agent says Libyan refugees are coming to New Jersey

Fox News anchor Judge Andrew Napolitano heard from his guest last evening that the Obama State Department has already decided to bring Libyan refugees to the US.  (Hat tip: Brenda Walker)

US Report (Watch the clip here entitled: Bringing Al-Qaeda to the US):

Ex CIA agent Wayne Simmons appeared on ‘Freedom Watch’ on Monday and he dropped a bombshell. Simmons told Judge Andrew Napolitano during the judge’s nightly show on Fox Business Network Libyan refugees will be flown to New Jersey.

Napolitano, a Libertarian, believes the NATO no-fly zone President Barack Obama justified on a “humanitarian basis” is an unconstitutional action. The judge has also been critical of President George W. Bush.

Simmons said the US Dept. of State has a massive asylum initiative.

That initiative has not always gone well.

Simmons said that’s how one of the most dangerous gangs, MS-13, came to the U.S. Simmons said there are also “17 known gangs” from Somalia with a presence here.

“Libyans are on the list,” said Simmons. “It is underway and it won’t be long before C-17s or commercial jets arrive in Ft. Dix.”

We don’t know if a final decision has been made, but we reported exactly one month ago that Human Rights First was calling for an emergency action by the US government to get Libyans to America ASAP (and expedite the security process!).

We also know that Europe is being overrun with young North African men, here (Fall of Rome?).  Gadaffi’s joke on the West!

Hey, Judge Napolitano, I love you but here you are wrong:

Napolitano said Libya will produce “a refugee crisis no one saw coming.”

Samantha Power knew!

An afterthought: Anyone concerned with bringing North African men to New Jersey should contact their US Senators and Congressman right now.  Also, New Jersey folks need to tell Governor Christie to say NO!  Remember the Ft. Dix Six terror plot (one was a Muslim refugee who arrived at Ft. Dix during Bill Clinton’s Bosnian war).

“Massive crisis” in immigration courts, gee, I wonder why?

Crashing the system (any system it seems) is the modus-operandi of the radical Left these days.   We have the Cloward-Piven strategists busy crashing the welfare system, the union thugs planning to crash the banks in May and we have the pro-migration/open borders gang crashing the immigration court system by urging more and more people to seek asylum in the US.

This story, hat tip Paul, begins with the dramatic tale of a woman from Cameroon who spent five years trying to get asylum in the US—this after abandoning her children including an approximately 5 year old girl in Africa.    Give me a break!  This story sounds so ridiculously phony no wonder it took five years and two whiz-bang lawyers to get her through the process.

You can go read the story yourself, here.

I’m reminded of the Somalis I wrote about here—young men and women with no English language skills managing to get tens of thousands of dollars and phony passports needed for the circuitous trip to the US (including a stop in Cuba) who then arrive on our border and say—give me asylum, I’m being persecuted.  It strains credulity and leads me to believe that they are getting advance help from people within the United States.

Just ask yourselves, how does some poor woman from Cameroon (depicted in this article) have the where-with-all to get all the way across the world, get into the US and have two sharp lawyers ready and able to get her through the legal system?   And, then she brings her previously abandoned and mostly grown children to join her.

In March of 2010, I attended the 30th anniversary celebration of the passage of the Refugee Resettlement Act of 1980Here is one post I wrote at the time.   I wondered then about how much of the conference was being devoted to talking about these immigration courts and asylum generally.  Now I realize that they have been at this for some time—expanding the use of the asylum process to get more and more immigrants into the US. A program that was originally expected to allow the odd ballet dancer to defect (according to Doris Meissner mentioned here) has become a major avenue for bringing third worlders into the US—heck, I guess the refugee program at 80,000 or so a year wasn’t doing it fast enough.

Maybe before its too late someone involved in the scheme will realize how this is all part of a plan to bring down America as we know it and blow the whistle (but I won’t hold my breath!).

Mexican “refugees,” the Catholic Church and organized labor….

….the gang’s all here!

Here is an article that is so chocked full of interesting information, I don’t know where to start.   So, just a few things that caught my eye.

There is an increasing campaign by pro-migration forces to refer to illegal aliens coming across the US/Mexican border as “refugees” escaping the drug violence.   This article in Mexidata.info opens with your standard dramatic effect.

Shrouded in burka-like attire, the anonymous woman was suddenly transformed into “nobody.” Her eyes concealed by a pair of huge shades, the Mexican woman told the large crowd assembled at central El Paso’s Catholic Daughter’s Hall how she came to live in the United States without papers.

Once a professional with a bright future ahead of her, the woman claimed she left Mexico because extortion, kidnapping, murder and threats cascaded on her family in a land of impunity.

Part of a growing population of Mexican refugees from the so-called drug war, the mystery presenter spoke of a “constant pain in the stomach and pressure in the chest” that well up from living with a constant fear of deportation and possible separation from her refugee children.

The meeting was put on by a Catholic Church-related organization (ho-hum what else is new):

The refugee’s captivating speech was heard at an April 2 immigration forum organized by Annunciation House, a Catholic-sponsored migrant shelter in El Paso.

And, here we have the involvement in migration issues of Marxist organized labor:

In remarks to the forum, Texas state Senator Jose Rodriguez (D-El Paso) said anti-immigrant sentiment was sweeping Mexico, Europe, the US and his own home state, where more than 100 pieces of “anti-immigrant legislation” were recently introduced in the state capital of Austin.

Simultaneously, a state budget deficit of $23-$27 billion was encouraging a state political leadership wielding “wrong priorities” to put education and social services on the chopping block, Rodriguez contended.

A long-serving El Paso county attorney before he won the seat formerly held by retiring state Senator Eliot Shapleigh last year, Rodriguez endorsed comprehensive immigration reform, grassroots mobilization and cross-border labor organizing initiatives like the one pursued by the United Electrical Workers and Mexico’s Authentic Workers Front.

Rodriguez said anti-immigrant and anti-labor measures have galvanized numerous public protests in Austin during the current legislative session, with a big, statewide day of action on April 6. “Pressure has results,” he insisted.

I doubt legitimate American electrical workers have any interest in socialist labor organizing and migration issues involving Mexico—-except if they knew union bosses were busily importing workers (voters) to compete with them.

Read the whole article it’s very informative.
