Just keep it up! “Refugee” will definitely be a very bad word when/if the Obama-generated crisis on the border is ever resolved.
Invasion of America continues….
Check out this story by Ryan Lovelace who has been writing some good stuff atNational Review Online (hat tip: Paul). Emphasis is mine:
Oklahomans expect an economic boom as a result of the flood of illegal immigrant children the federal government has begun sending their way.
The Department of Defense has loaned the facilities at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, to the Department of Health and Human Services to house approximately 600 unaccompanied alien children, according to the Department of Defense. Local officials expect the surrounding community to reap the rewards.
“They’re talking about $1.2 million impact for the Lawton-Fort Sill community within the first 30 days,” Lawton Mayor Fred Fitch told KSWO 7 News.
Lawtonwill roll in federal tax dollars/federal workers and the “children” will all be good kids (as long as they are confined)!
The Oklahomanreports the ratio of federal worker to child at Ft. Sill will be one federal worker per every two children. Based on that ratio, the area could expect approximately 300 federal workers. An HHS factsheetindicates such workers would include representatives from the Office of Refugee Resettlement within HHS’ Administration for Children and Families. The kids will be kept in a 200,000 square foot building and kept under 24-hour supervision. Fitch insisted to KSWO that the children will not be allowed to leave the confines of the post and that the influx of children will not have any adverse impact on the local community.
See all of our posts on “unaccompanied alien minors” here. Some go back several years.
I believe we are now at a crisis stage in America like no other in 150 years!
It hardly seems possible, but in a few weeks Refugee Resettlement Watch (see our ‘About’ page) will be seven years old! Almost every day for seven years we have posted some news on the US Refugee Admissions program directed by the United Nations (carried out by the US State Department, the Office of Refugee Resettlement in HHS and their contractors***) and related issues involving LEGAL and sometimes illegal immigration.
We began with 14 viewers in the month of June ’07 and that was probably a few tech helpers just testing the site! Recently we have had 45,000 viewers in a month and they come from all over the world! We have written 5,660 posts to date and, as I said, rarely miss a day!
Our facebook readers sometimes surpass 30,000 in a week!
I’m writing this, not to toot our horn, but to say that it is really concerning me that I can’t keep up with all of your e-mails and inquiries and write posts too.
But, please keep sending me articles because the growing number of concerned citizens are the greatest information resource I have for what is going on in your states with refugees and with the ever-expanding number of migrants being labeled as “refugees,” and with the large number coming from Muslim countries. If I don’t always respond, please know that I am here without helpers! LOL! No secretaries, no interns, no nothing!
Perhaps as the invasion on the bordercontinues, with the mostly teenaged boys being treated like refugees, the large immigration control groups (I won’t name names, you know who you are) will get in gear and pay attention to the Refugee program (assign some staff to it!) which they have largely ignored these last seven years.
Bottom line: this week as World Refugee Day approaches on Friday—we need help! The issue is too big for a volunteer blogger in the basement! If you are a member of the big immigration control groups, tell them to pay attention to the refugee program and since the contractors are lobbyingespecially this week (in the media and on The Hill), take time to let your elected officials know (at all levels of government) how you feel about the ever-expanding resettlement of third-worlders into your towns and cities. Bombard especially Rep. Trey Gowdy!
Thank you!!! Ann
***The contractors (who, by the way, also are lobbying for amnesty because they will be paid to “service” the new “clients!”):
Would someone please explain to me how communities are “enriched” by becoming magnets for impoverished refugees, many from Muslim areas of the world. I hear that phrase, or how about this one—“diversity brings strength” —all the time.
A plea to those in the refugee industry—please explain what that means. Are we talking about colorful clothing and foreign foods — what? The taxpaying citizens surely aren’t enriched by the costs involved with social services and education needed by the refugees.
Lexington, Kentucky is being “enriched” we are told. Remember “Mustafa” from Louisville, KY who is charged with ripping-off Kentucky Refugee Ministries? Did Mustafa bring cultural enrichment?
And, by the way, readers, it is a good thing we captured some of Mustafa’s facebook page about his travels in recent years to Syria, Turkey and Saudi Arabia and his role “working” with the FBI because all that has been removed since we last visited.
Did the Iraqi refugee terrorists bring enrichment and the joys of cultural diversity to Kentucky, or how about the Congolese woman recently suedby another Congolese “refugee” for human trafficking. Did Sifa bring enrichment to Lexington?
You are going to see fluffy articles like this one all week as World Refugee Day approaches on Friday, the 20th.
Carine [of the Congo*** and star of this story—ed] will talk about that transition at the “World Refugee Day Summit: Lexington’s Bridge to the World” at the Central Library June 20.It is Lexington’s celebration of the rich, overlooked pockets of diversity throughout this community.
World Refugee Day was established by the United Nations in 2001 to pay tribute to the courage and strength exhibited by those forced to flee their homelands and familiar routines to escape conflict.
Lexington’s celebration has a twist, however.
“Unlike New York … and many larger cities with a rich history of immigration, Lexington is not yet used to helping new neighbors resettle,” said Lindsay Mattingly, multicultural liaison at the Lexington Public Library. “We do not yet have a well-developed infrastructure that can support nonnative English speakers.”
Here is an example of a deceptive line (there always are a few in stories like this one):
While the Kentucky Refugee Ministries does a great job, she said, that organization has to adhere to time limits set by the federal government of up to six months.
The only “time limit” is that their federal dole ends at that point. There is no law that says a resettlement agency can’t raise PRIVATE FUNDS to continue to care for refugees they bring to your town. In reality their job for the first six months is to find refugees a job (if they can) and get them enrolled in all the welfare programs available to them. Then they move on to the next paying “client.”
If you are in the Lexington area, you might want to attend Friday’s event:
“World Refugee Day Summit: Lexington’s Bridge to the World” begins with a conference at the Central Library, 140 East Main Street, from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
***The Congolese in Lexington:
“Lexington has the third-largest population of resettled Congolese immigrants in the country,” Mattingly said. Phoenix and Houston are ahead of us. And there are more than 90 languages spoken in the homes of students in Fayette County schools.
Bowling Green, KY (more pockets of diversity!): population of foreign born is 10% of the city’s population!
Bowling Green, where those Iraqi terrorists were living when they were arrested, is ahead of the rest of Kentucky in its demographic change (and enrichment!) thanks largely to the resettlement of refugees that has gone on there for decades. See this story (hat tip: Robin). That Daily News story also tells us this:
Whites now account for a minority of births in the U.S., and by 2050, whites are projected to become a minority of the U.S. population, according to the Pew report. U.S. Census Bureau results show that from 2000 to 2010, racial and ethnic minorities accounted for 91.7 percent of the nation’s growth. In 2000, 11.1 percent of the U.S. population was foreign born, which increased to 13 percent by 2011. By 2050, 19 percent of the nation’s population is projected to be foreign born, according to a Pew report.
We have been writing about problems that cultural diversity has brought Bowling Green for years, click here for those posts.
It occurred to me over the last couple of days that what we are seeing is the old “Sanctuary Movement” of the 1980’s on steroids.
Update: See also the “Childrens Crusade” with Obama, Alinsky and the “healthiest looking refugees” here, thanks to Judy.
If you don’t remember it, look back at some of my posts on the topic (hereis a pretty good summary with links from 2011). In fact, the Sanctuary Movement was responsible for the birth of the now notorious CASA de Maryland in our home state. (See one of many posts at Potomac Tea Party Report on the “religious LEFT” and CASA, here).
In the early 1980s, churches (mostly Catholic Churches/Chicago Catholics, some protestant churches especially Presbyterians and Lutherans, and the Quakers) helped illegal Central Americans get through Mexico and then across a much better guarded border than we seem to have today.
The churches then hid the illegals and transported them to other church shelters across America, one of those was in Takoma Park, Maryland where CASA was born. And, what a coincidence, Takoma Park is the home of the infamous Obama Labor Secretary Thomas Perez (Maryland! Watch out for Perez when Obama is no longer in office!).
Today, the flow is massive and doesn’t apparently involve dangerous night-time crossings of the border. More importantly, today the ‘churches’ are out in the open and actually being paid by the federal government to take care of the kids (see the Office of Refugee Resettlement and its contractors, here).
But, are those churches (church contractors) actually involved in promoting and busing the illegal aliens through Mexico and to our border—-that is the $64,000 question!
Here is a news account at National Review (Hat tip: Linda) primarily about the gang members (MS-13!) coming across now along with the “kids,” The article contains a little nugget at the end that suggests the churches are once again involved.
Could the Catholic Church need new parishioners this badly? Could they actually be hiring the buses and transporting the “children?”
Border Patrol officials struggling to keep up with the increasing number of minors illegally crossing the Mexican border are not turning away persons with known gang affiliations. Chris Cabrera, vice president of the National Border Patrol Council Local 3307 in the Rio Grande Valley, explained that a Border Patrol agent he represents helped reunite a teenage gang member with his family in the United States. Cabrera notes the young member of Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), a transnational criminal gang, had no criminal record in the U.S., but asks, “If he’s a confirmed gang member in his own country, why are we letting him in here?”
The government is going to take care of us!
“I’ve heard people come in and say, ‘You’re going to let me go, just like you let my mother go, just like you let my sister go. You’re going to let me go as well, and the government’s going to take care of us,’”Cabrera says. “Until we start mandatory detentions, mandatory removals, I don’t think anything is going to change. As a matter of fact, I think it’s going to get worse.”
Radio and television commercial spots ran in Central America telling migrants to go to the US now (if anyone in America helped pay for this, they have committed treason!):
Cueto (Art Del Cueto, president of the National Border Patrol Council Local 2544 in Tucson) says when he asked a group of children about their motivation, they spoke of the “announcer on the radio” who encouraged them to head for the United States.Cueto says Central American radio, television, other media, and religious groups have all encouraged people to move north to the United States.
Did any of your tax dollars go into this campaign directly or indirectly through the federal ‘refugee’ contractors?
Here (below) for your review are the refugee contractors—the religious LEFT! (USCRI, ECDC and the IRC are secular contractors).
We know that the US Conference of Catholic Bishops and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service are being paid to ‘service’ the “children.” Are they involved in encouraging the mass migration of ‘unaccompanied alien minors’ as well?
And, for any of you do-gooders concerned for real refugees, thank the contractors for helping label these illegal aliens, including the gang bangers, as “refugees.”
The new wave of violence in western Iraq has created a “toxic brew” of hardship that has ballooned the country’s crippling refugee crisis by more than 50 percent in just a few days, international aid groups said Thursday.
Just this week, an estimated half-million people have fled the city of Mosul, which was overrun by suspected militants of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also called ISIL or ISIS, international aid workers told NBC News. Most, about 300,000, are pitching up in Erbil province in the north, according to the office of the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, with the rest flowing elsewhere inside Mosul’s Nineveh province.
Readers, at this moment, Iraqis make up the largest segment of the refugee flow to America (and most are not Christians!). We are taking about 20,000 a year. So far this fiscal year (2014) we have taken 11,660. With millions on the move and apparently more to come, and as Muslims continue their squabbles, what do we think we are accomplishing by continuing the flow of needy Muslims into your cities and towns?
Readers, this is our 618th postabout Iraqi refugees—-getting pretty sick of them!
