US Amphibious Assault ship rescues illegal migrants in Mediterranean, brings more problems for beleaguered Malta

US aids invasion of Europe in more ways than one.

Longtime readers know that we have been following the slow motion disaster for the Maltese people as their tiny country suffers the proportionately largest brunt of the assault on Europe by illegal migrants crossing the Mediterranean, now largely from Libya, where sources tell us that 800,000 would-be “asylum seekers” are poised to break into Europe.

Before you read on, visit American Thinker right now (hat tip Judy) and read an excellent review of the dark and prophetic novel (written in 1973!) about the future of France (Europe) and ultimately America—The Camp of the Saints as destitute migrant masses arrive on Europe’s shores (and come across our Southern border!).   Then order it for your summer reading!

So how are we aiding the invasion beyond picking up 282 mostly men and instead of returning them to Libya our war ship drops them off on Malta?

Some of the 282 Africans brought on board the USS Bataan on Friday.

We (Obama) played a key role in the destabilization of Libya the launch pad for the invasion, and for many years now—starting with George W. Bush—the US State Department has been ‘helping’ by taking some of Malta’s illegal aliens to the US as “refugees” thus adding one more inducement (a ticket to America) for the economic migrants to take the plunge.  (See our extensive archive on ‘Malta.’)

From the Malta Independent (Hat tip: Charles):

The multipurpose amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) transferred 277 persons in distress to the Armed Forces of Malta offshore patrol vessel P61, and another five persons were medically evacuated to Malta June 7, 2014.

Bataan and USS Elrod (FFG 55) rendered assistance on Friday to persons in distress at sea in the Mediterranean after receiving a report of a sinking small vessel. Bataan provided food, water, medical attention and temporary shelter.

[….]

Bataan launched two Search and Rescue MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopters to investigate. Once on scene, Bataan’s SAR helicopters confirmed a small vessel was sinking. The SAR helicopters then deployed the SAR swimmers to start extracting persons from the water. Elrod deployed their 7-meter rigid hull inflatable boat; Bataan deployed their 11-meter Captain’s Gig and 7-meter RHIB to assist.

282 persons were recovered and brought on board Bataan.

Bataan, with elements of 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the US 6th Fleet area of operations to augment US Crisis Response forces in the region.

So what is the mood on Malta?  A commenter at the Independent gives us some idea:

The USS Bataan should have taken them to Libya where they left from. Who’s fault is it that they were in distress? Am I supposed to feel sympathy for them? Well hell I don’t. They all know where they can go.

All it would take to stop the insanity is for Western leaders to grow a spine and start taking migrants back to Libya or elsewhere in North Africa, encourage the UN to build appropriate camps and then the ‘caring class’ must figure out how to save Africa (in Africa) because it is obvious the migrating masses will soon sink the lifeboat!

See Roy Beck at NumbersUSA explaining how America, or civilized nations generally, cannot solve the world’s poverty by moving some of the overflow to the West.   Beck, states the obvious:  “They have to be helped where they live!”

With release of illegal alien women and children in TX and AZ, the word spreads and more will come

Invasion of America….

The Obama Administration’s immigration policy is luring illegal migrants from Central America and Mexico to our Southern border where the ability to detain them has collapsed.

Somehow the migrants have confused the ‘unaccompanied minor’ policy (where the kids traveling alone are treated as refugees) and now mothers with little kids think they are free to come as well.

I think that Obama is quite happy with the situation as he speeds up the revolution.  After all, his time is running out to fundamentally transform America.

Ana Bulnes the new Honduran consul at the recently opened office in McAllen, TX: “The people who are able to enter are those who send the message back.”

REYNOSA, Tamaulipas —

The 27-year-old Honduran woman is desperate to know if the rumor is true: that she’ll be allowed to stay in the United States because she is traveling with her 2-year-old daughter.

At a shelter for migrants in Reynosa across the border from McAllen, Jennys Aguilar Cardenas and other women have heard about mothers being released with their babies, about children being reunited with relatives in the U.S. Like a game of telephone, the word has spread, giving hope to an apparently growing number of migrants willing to risk the dangerous crossing — with their young children — to escape intense poverty and crime at home.

US adding incentives to make the move now:

The spike in migrant detentions comes as Obama is under pressure both to reform immigration laws and to do more to stop illegal entries. Republican lawmakers have suggested the rise in child migrants is a result of lax enforcement. The Border Patrol acknowledges there is a problem in families being released, with its deputy chief, Ronald Vitiello, noting in a May 30 draft memo that such actions are “incentives to additional individuals to follow the same path.”

Spreading by word of mouth:

Ana Bulnes, the Honduran consul for South Texas, said Wednesday it is hard to discourage families from making the trip when U.S. authorities, in fact, are releasing them — sometimes dropping them off at bus stations in Texas and Arizona.

The rumors are spreading by word of mouth, not through any mass media channels such as radio that can be monitored, she said.

“The people who are able to enter are those who send the message back,’” Bulnes said.

About the photo: On May 30th, the Honduran government opened a new consulate in McAllen Texas.  Bulnes is celebrating with champagne.  The timing couldn’t be better.

Survey: 37% of Germans want Muslim immigration to Germany halted

Invasion of Europe series continued….

Photo at ‘World Bulletin’ has no connection to this news, it is being used to denigrate German citizens and link those opposed to more Muslim immigration to the extreme political right (even though Nazis of the 1930’s and 40’s were really on the political left).

Perhaps what interested me most is that although the article tries really hard to link the dissatisfaction with the ‘Rightwingers’ and uses this photo (above) to illustrate the article and cause readers to recoil, the dissatisfaction (55% think asylum seekers are liars) cuts across all political parties.  These are mainstream Germans.

World Bulletin:

The study concluded that a large number of Germans with xenophobic, chauvinist or anti-Semitic tendencies did not only vote for right-wing parties, but also center-right or center–left parties.

Meanwhile, Germany has offered to take 10,000 Syrians this year and most of those are Muslims.

Here is more of the story from World Bulletin (emphasis is mine):

Muslim immigrants, Roma people and asylum seekers face growing discrimination in German society, a recent study by Leipzig University has revealed.

Almost 37 percent of those surveyed said that they are in support of the prohibition of immigration of Muslims to Germany, while 43 percent of Germans said that they “sometimes feel like a foreigner in their own country due to so many Muslims living here,” according to the research conducted by Leipzig University scholars Professor Elmar Braehler and Dr. Oliver Decker.

[….]

A total of 24.1 percent argued that foreigners should be sent back to their home countries, should there be a scarcity of jobs in Germany.

The research has revealed a significant increase in negative views towards Muslim immigrants in the last five years.

Those who argued for a ban against the immigration of Muslims to Germany has increased from 21.4 percent in 2009 to 36.6 percent in 2014.

A total of 18 percent of those surveyed approved xenophobic statements, while five percent agreed with anti-Semitic statements.

[….]

The survey showed that there is a widespread negative perception of asylum seekers in society.

A total of 55.3 percent said they did not believe that asylum seekers really flee from prosecution or pressure in their home countries, while 76 percent opposed the simplification of processes for granting asylum to refugees.

Achtung! German politicians:

…..support for right-wing extremism has decreased to 5.6 percent this year, compared with 9.7 percent in 2002.

The study concluded that a large number of Germans with xenophobic, chauvinist or anti-Semitic [only 5% expressed anti-Semitic statements!—ed] tendencies did not only vote for right-wing parties, but also center-right or center–left parties.
