New York is consistently one of the top 5 states in the nation to 'welcome' refugees

But, contrary to what you might think, it isn’t New York City they are going to.  Resettlement contractors operating in the state are placing them in Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Utica along with a whole host of smaller cities throughout the state.

NYC Syrians rally
In the fall of 2015, open borders activists demonstrated to welcome Syrians to NYC, but we no longer resettle refugees in any great numbers in traditional immigrant gateway cities. Photo: http://www.pressenza.com/2015/09/new-york-says-welcome-to-syrian-refugees/

On these pages over the years we’ve told you about problems and especially made note of the UN designated ‘Town that Loves Refugees‘ (Utica) having serious problems now with schools overloaded with educationally needy children, here.  It does not take a genius to figure out that there is a huge cost associated with educating children who do not speak English and may not even know how to pick up a pencil!
School funding will be one of the first impacts on overloaded cities (other examples Amarillo, TX, Manchester, NH and Wichita, KS).
About a decade ago, Utica had been made the centerpiece of a national propaganda campaign.  I call it shaming.  The message, as I see it, goes like this: Hey look, here is a welcoming city, what’s wrong with your xenophobic, racist, unwelcoming attitude in ____ (fill in the blank) city.
In Albany in 2009, a New York blogger told us about big problems with the resettlement contractor there.  All of our posts on Albany are here.
As I looked through our extensive archive on Buffalo, I see stories about overload and refugee/immigrant crime that results when multiculturalism fails.
Cultural clashes ending in violence dominates our files on the city of Rochester as well.  See here.
town that loves refugees
This PR campaign was a product of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. http://www.unhcr.org/426f4c772.html

In Syracuse where the mayor (laboring under the illusion that importing poverty will revive the city) is welcoming Syrian Muslim refugees as a Catholic Church has become a mosque.  Our Syracuse archive is here.
And then as we have already mentioned there is Utica, here.
So let’s have a look at the numbers going to the state of New York right now because, despite problems, the spigot is wide open in New York state….
To see the contractors and the cities they are operating in, go here, to the handy list of about 180 cities in America where federal resettlement contractors have set up shop.  It looks like seven of the nine federal refugee contractors have carved up the territory in New York state.
(Remember, refugees can be resettled within a hundred miles of the contractor’s office, so you are not off the hook if you don’t live in one of the five primary resettlement cities in New York!)
I didn’t go back to the data  ***prior to the George W. Bush presidency, but found that if you thought the numbers of refugees coming to NY had jumped since Bush, you are right.
During Bush’s term in office, NY saw the arrival of 19,620 refugees, but that number jumped dramatically during the Obama presidency (which still has the remainder of this year to complete). Since January 2009, NY ‘welcomed’ 28,807 needy refugees (no wonder housing is short, crime is up, and schools are overcrowded!).   That is an increase of over 9,000 from Bush years to Obama years.
During the Bush years, the refugees went to those same cities (mentioned above) plus many more small cities. Large populations of refugees included those from Burma, Somalia, Liberia, Ukraine and Russia.
Since Obama took office here are some of the top ethnic groups going to New York state (in addition to smaller numbers of dozens of others):

Burma (9,489)

Bhutan (6,648)

DR Congo (1,280)

Iraq (3,468)

Somalia (3,638)

Despite the welcoming banner in the photo above, New York state has received 67 Syrians (99% Muslim) to date (since the beginning of the conflict). Most went to Buffalo and Syracuse.
As far as I know, no ‘pockets of resistance’ have formed in New York.  Please correct me if I’m wrong.  There is an effort being made in the New York state Senate to monitor refugees, go here for the story we haven’t covered here (yet).
And, check this out! States with the most mosques correlate with top refugee resettlement states!
New York state Presidential primary is on April 19th—vote!
***This is data for only refugees and does not include all of the other “humanitarian arrivals” you, as taxpayers, are caring for each year.

RRW Monthly Roundup for month of March 2016

rrw-logo (1)It’s not surprising that the Brussels Islamic terrorist attack drove tens of thousands of readers to RRW.  It happens every time there is another bloody attack by those who have been given the gift of starting a new life in the West.
What did Belgium ever do to the young jihadists but “welcome” Muslim immigrants to their country.  And, look what happens, they kill and maim those who welcomed them.
It is simply a matter of the Muslim population reaching critical mass where the Islamists can hide within a community that shelters (and probably fears) them.  Belgium doesn’t have a Gitmo (Obama’s ridiculous argument), it doesn’t fly jets over Syrian villages, and the government of Belgium has signaled that it leans toward Palestine in that never-ending conflict with Israel.  Yet, look what they get for it!
No Mark, love will not conquer Muslim hatred for the West!
So the top two posts (of three) in March involved Belgium.
Top Three Posts:

By the way, when I wrote this post a few days ago—-about the fact that American taxpayers are shelling out billions of dollars for approximately 200,000 HUMANITARIAN ARRIVALS each year—-that maybe we should be using that figure—200,000—instead of simply referring to the refugee component of the figure (right now set at 85,000 for FY 2016).

For new readers (my usual boiler plate language):

I’ve started a new blog so that I can write about Election 2016, immigration (the only issue that matters!) and any fun thing I feel like posting—see today’s post.  Go to American Resistance 2016! and subscribe.
We have over 7,400 posts archived at RRW extending back to the summer of 2007.  Use the search window with a few key words to look for information (LOL! before you send an e-mail asking me to find things for you!).
Also, see our Frequently Asked Questions and our fact sheet (out of date but still useful) in the header.
I’ve been tweeting a lot and sometimes if I can’t write about a story you send, I tweet it.  See our twitter feed in the right-hand side bar. Even if you aren’t on twitter, you should be able to open the links to the news embedded in the tweet.  I am@RefugeeWatcher.
Likewise you might want to ‘like’ and follow RRW’s facebook page, here.  See it also in the left-hand side bar.
All previous round-ups and this one are archived in a category simply called ‘blogging.’
My video about how the refugee program works is here (over 2.4 million views as of this writing).
All comments you submit are screened and we don’t post threats of violence, most foul language, or ad hominem attacks on other commenters.  Sometimes I am away from the computer for many hours, so you may not see your comment posted quickly.  And, lately I’ve noticed a delay by wordpress in sending me your comments.
As much as I would love to see you all in your hometowns, I simply don’t have the time to travel.  Right now I have a few engagements I committed to sometime ago, but am not taking any more right now.  I think I am more useful right here researching and writing.  I am thinking of a project for this summer that might take me to other states, but that is still in the ‘dreaming’ stage.
Refugee Resettlement Watch is an entirely volunteer project by me—we don’t raise funds or advertise.  Therefore, I have no staff, no help, and so if I don’t answer the hundreds of e-mails I get every day, you know why!  And, I do apologize!
P.S.  There is so much happening on this subject that I would welcome (I encourage!) others to start blogs on the topic, either to cover your local and state issues or even to pick up more of the load nationally!  It does your community no good if you research, find important information (perhaps damning information) and then don’t share it widely!

US State Department knocking itself out to get to Obama's magic 10,000 Syrians this year

….But, clearly there is a test of wills going on within the Administration involving security concerns.
We reported yesterday that Obama’s State Department is way behind in bringing in the 10,000 (mostly Muslim) Syrians Obama promised to distribute to your towns by Sept. 30th, 2016.

Obama let me be clear
Obama: Let me be clear. It is our “obligation” to get 10,000 Syrian Muslims in here by September 30th no matter what the FBI says. (He didn’t say that, but you know he has got to be thinking it!)

CNN reported the news too (glad to see so many news outlets are using the State Department data bases) and tells us this (after reporting that Obama praised the Pope for washing feet to set the tone of the story):

The State Department and other agencies involved in vetting Syrian refugees say, however, that they are taking steps to speed up the process.

These include creating a “new pathway” for Syrians with relatives in the United States, though the State Department has not elaborated on what that pathway would look like. They are also increasing staff at key locations in Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq, according to a State Department official.

Additionally, the State Department announced on Wednesday it would be committing another $10 million to the UNHCR to help with refugee resettlement.

“We expect Syrian refugee arrivals to the U.S. to increase steadily throughout the fiscal year,” the official said, “ultimately culminating in the admission of at least 10,000 Syrian refugees by the end of the fiscal year.”

Read it all.  And, see their map, it’s much nicer when you have a graphics department!
But, LOL! CNN fails to report that 99% of those admitted so far are Muslims.  Where are the Christians?
Addendum: Remember readers, it is not just 10,000 Syrians that are of concern. American taxpayers are paying billions for the care of approximately 200,000 “humanitarian arrivals” each year.

6 months in to fiscal year, 1,282 Syrian refugees admitted to US (Obama is thousands short of goal!)

Obama and David Miliband
Resettlement contractor David Miliband of the IRC (right) was the first to call for Obama to admit 65,000 Syrians this year, then increased his demand to 100,000.

And, the numbers reveal that Obama is not saving Christians or other religious minorities!
Obama gave his US State Department a year to get 10,000 Syrian refugees seeded into towns and cities across America.
We are now at the halfway point in Fiscal Year 2016 (it began on October 1, 2015) and they have resettled 1,282 (99% Muslim Syrians).
They have 8,718 to go in the next few months to reach Obama’s goal.  Could security screening be slowing the flow? (BTW, suicidal Canada does not appear to be worried about security).
And, remember readers, the resettlement contractors first demanded 65,000 Syrians this year and then upped the number to 100,000 by this fall.

Where are those Syrians now?

Here is a map of where they’ve been placed so far (source: Refugee Processing Center):
Map Syrians March 31 2016

If you can’t read the numbers here is a list of the top ten ‘welcoming’ Syrian resettlement states:

Michigan (166)

California (127)

Pennsylvania (114)

Illinois (87)

Texas (82)

Florida (76)

Ohio (61)

North Carolina (59)

Kentucky (57)

Connecticut (50)

Arizona and New York are next with 48 each.

There is no effort by the UNHCR and our State Department to save the persecuted Christians.

99% of the 1,282 are Muslims (see breakdown below):

Catholic (3)

Christian (3)

Greek Orthodox (1)

Moslem (their spelling) (18)

Moslem Shiite (8)

Moslem Suni (1,246)

Other Religion (1)

Photo:  We wrote about British Foreign Secretary David Miliband here yesterday.  It is galling to think that a Brit is calling the shots on the demographic make-up of American towns and cities.  WTH! He already played a huge role in wrecking the UK!  For our complete dossier on Miliband, click here.

Canada: Syrian airlift making history, 26,000 have arrived with 10,000 more being 'welcomed'

They are having a problem finding housing, but what the heck, let’em in!

Trudeau change
Boy Trudeau promised change and he is going to get it. Just make sure you keep them all north of the border!

From The Guardian:

Canada will take in an additional 10,000 Syrian refugees, adding to the more than 25,000 already received in the last few months, said immigration minister John McCallum.

McCallum told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp he was responding to complaints from Canadian groups who want to sponsor Syrian refugees but did not have their applications processed quickly enough to be among the government’s initial target of 25,000.

“We are doing everything we can to accommodate the very welcomed desire on the part of Canadians to sponsor refugees,” McCallum said in a phone interview with CBC News from Berlin, where he is meeting with the German interior minister.

By the way, Canada’s system is different from ours.  They have some government resettled refugees and some privately sponsored ones, ours are all taxpayer-funded refugees with no private sponsorships.   Although I think that legally a group/church could still sponsor a refugee family to America, but the resettlement contractors would probably scream bloody murder because it could cut into the numbers they are paid to seed throughout the country.
