CIS Posts Update on US Refugee Contractors, but Does it Matter in the Year from Hell?

Nayla Rush writing at the Center for Immigration Studies has posted a thorough update on the US Refugee Admissions Program focusing on how the nine federal contractors basically call the shots about where refugees are placed.

Please see her report here, read it and file it for a time when we return to normal (which may be a long way off in the future!) and will be permitted to have wonkish discussions about the nuts and bolts of federal programs.

But, as I have been saying here and here, these are not normal times and in the coming months don’t be distracted by thinking that the November elections will be normal and come January 2021 we go back to squabbling over the intricacies of federal programs like the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program.  Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t see how that can be.

Your entire focus for the remainder of the year should be on preparing to survive (personally) and working to help our country survive the chaos those who want to destroy America are going to rain down on us.

If Trump wins, expect violence in the streets. There may be a lull right now, but most likely because the Marxists/Antifa/BLM are working on plans for the coming months.

Trump in the Rose Garden on July 14th: ” Biden has gone radical left.
Increase refugee admissions by 700 percent. Huh. That’s a lot: by 700 percent. Nobody has ever heard of such a thing. Increase refugee admissions by 700 percent.” https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/remarks-president-trump-press-conference-071420/

If the empty shell Biden wins and has one or both houses of Congress, we will be done.

I expect there won’t even be any vocal opposition permitted—our speech will be silenced one way or the other as America’s gates will be flung open to the world.

And, about that 700%?  Biden has already said he will immediately admit 125,000 refugees a year to America and so to get to that figure, it likely means that Trump expects to admit about 15,500 before September 30th.***  I don’t think it will be nearly that high as we are only at 7,800 now.  The original ceiling was supposed to be 18,000. (Trump’s people might be adding in the Special Immigrant Visas to get that number up.)

Rush does excellent work, so read her report and pray that one day we can again return to squabbling over the implications of government programs, but as I said in November of 2019, you need to work to get the President re-elected.

And, you must also prepare your household and your community for an attack on civil society like we have never seen.

By the way, have you had your “second tower moment?”

*** LOL! Surely someone will check my math.  If I am wrong, it isn’t me!  I used one of those percent calculator things!

Senator Lankford of Oklahoma Backs Down After Constituents Rage

“Where is your courage and bravery to stand against the Marxist mobs!?!?”

(An Oklahoman)

Cancel culture only works because every coward goes along with it.

(Mark Steyn)

You surely heard that Senators James Lankford of Oklahoma and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin have suggested dumping Columbus Day and replacing it with ‘Juneteenth’ on the federal holiday calendar.

Alan Wall writing at US Inc tells us what happened back home in Oklahoma as that news spread.

Before I get to Wall’s post, know that everything I write in the coming days, weeks, months at both of my blogs will have an underlying theme—you must be prepared, you must fight the mob where you live, and you must slam these pandering Republicans at every level of government.

From US Inc:

OK Senator Angers Constituents with Columbus Day Proposal

“So when did you become a liberal? Quit pandering to the mob. Do what you were elected [to do].”

Thus wrote an angry Okie on the Facebook comments section of Oklahoma U.S. Senator James Lankford page. (Message slightly edited for punctuation and capitalization.)

Senator Lankford had joined fellow Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin with a proposal to dump Columbus Day as a federal holiday and replace it with “Juneteenth.”

This proposal was quickly publicized, and many Oklahomans contacted the Senator to protest.

[….]

Lankford and Johnson, advancing the argument of saving money by not increasing the amount of federal holidays from ten to eleven, had proposed dropping Columbus Day and replacing it with Juneteenth, thus keeping the amount of federal holidays to ten.

But the timing of their proposal made it look like Lankford and Johnson were surrendering to the mobs who are defacing monuments and tearing down statues.

[….]

On July 3rd, Senators Johnson and Lankford withdrew their proposal to drop Columbus Day, though Senator Johnson plans to submit a proposal “to reduce the number of paid leave days federal employees receive” without dropping Columbus Day.

[….]

It’s relevant to point out that Senator Lankford is extremely unreliable on the immigration issue. Numbers USA evaluates Lankford with a B+ Career grade (2011-2020), a B Recent grade (2017-2020) and a C- grade for the current Congress (2019-2020).

Obviously, Lankford’s voting on immigration measures is getting progressively worse.

Lankford’s votes on immigration issues do not tell the whole story.

Regular readers of RRW know that Senator Lankford, consistently siding with the most radical Leftists in the Senate, has opposed all efforts by the President to reduce the flow of refugees entering the country and opposes Trump’s efforts to reform how the resettlement process works.

Demonstrating that it is not impossible, the good folks of Oklahoma forced Lankford to back down this time!

Mark Steyn has a fantastic piece posted at his subscription-only site addressing the cowardice of Republican elected officials, that would include Senator Lankford, and the so-called smart thinkers on the Right.  He wraps with telling you to fight (in your communities) those destroying the America we love.

November is too late!

So wanker*** Right’s theory that all we gotta do is sit back and let these clowns run amok and their defects will be so obvious, people will come running to us and November will be a landslide. They’ve assured us of that bollocks for decades as they lost the schools and they lost the pop culture, and they lost everything else even now, unto the statue on the village green. Speak up, speak out, to the school board, to your coworkers, to your neighbors, because you can’t have a culture war if one side doesn’t even show up.

The Transformation of Western Civilization More Advanced in Europe

Granted that I just this morning advised readers that it was time to focus on keeping your family and your local patriot community prepared and safe for the sure-to-expand civil unrest leading up to and following the 2020 Presidential election and curtail some of your news-reading addiction, I can’t resist directing you to some reading about Europe.

First, see what I said at ‘Frauds and Crooks’ and then see this screenshot at Borderhawk’s Eye on Europe.

There is no one coming to save us from the same fate.  We don’t have a Viktor Orban!

Go to work with your family and local friends and plan for how you will first, survive, and then put any extra time you have into ousting politicians who are leading us to the brink.  We must resist becoming Europe if it isn’t already too late!

Biden Says He Will Beat Obama’s Refugee Admissions Record!

“Barack Obama’s immigration legacy was not, in fact, anything to celebrate,” says Slate

Apparently Biden made the announcement on World Refugee Day, June 20th.

That, according to the Leftist website ‘Slate:’

How Biden Plans to Undo Trump’s Nativist Agenda

In a little-noticed announcement, the former vice president committed to a more ambitious refugee policy than existed under Obama.

After a laundry list of all of the evil doin’s of President Trump (with Stephen Miller’s help), Slate reporter Dahlia Lithwick goes on to say:

Undoing this damage will be a heavy lift for whoever next occupies the Oval Office, but there is some cause for optimism.

Last Sunday, on World Refugee Day, Joe Biden laid out how he would reverse Trump’s assault by committing to several essential immigration actions: Having pledged that if he is elected he will restore “America’s historic role as leader in resettlement and defending the rights of refugees everywhere,” Biden had set specific targets that will increase refugee resettlement in the United States.

His plan would aim to admit 125,000 refugees to the U.S. (that’s up from a ceiling of 18,000 under Trump, and more than Obama admitted). In his announcement last week, he added a new pledge: to work with Congress to establish a minimum admissions number of at least 95,000 refugees annually.

In addition to those actions, Biden has promised to:

pursue policies that increase opportunities for faith and local communities to sponsor refugee resettlement. I will make more channels, such as higher education visas, available to those seeking safety. I will repeal the Muslim ban—and other discriminatory bans based on ethnicity and nationality—and restore asylum laws, including ending the horrific practice of separating families at our border. I will work with our allies and partners to stand against China’s assault on Hong Kong’s freedoms and mass detention and repression of Uighurs and other ethnic minorities and support a pathway for those persecuted to find safe haven in the United States and other nations.

This is how we always get beat by the Left.  They are proactively working to change the Refugee Act of 1980 to make it harder for any president in the future to reduce the number of refugees to be admitted.

Where is our side in Congress?  There is no one that I know of working to pull the debate in the direction of greater restrictions and protections for towns and cities who might be inundated with more impoverished people.

Slate continues….

The proposal mirrors the plan set forth in the Refugee Protection Act of 2019, now pending a vote in the House of Representatives. It signals that Biden isn’t just running against Trump’s anti-Muslim, anti-refugee, anti-immigrant dog whistles, but is also committing energy and, more importantly, resources to fulfilling the United States’ reputation as a nation that welcomes those in need of shelter, and also to making the U.S. government a central player in solving a global refugee crisis that has only grown more exigent as a result of COVID-19. It signals that Biden understands that solving the refugee crisis is both a hefty administrative lift and a moral and democratic imperative.

Obama’s immigration legacy nothing to celebrate, suggests Joe!

Also notable is that Biden isn’t seeking to simply return to Obama-era policies, but is going further, faster, in a tacit statement that Barack Obama’s immigration legacy was not, in fact, anything to celebrate.

Should Biden win the White House in 2020, he will face an administrative state that has been hollowed out from within. The government agencies tasked with refugee resettlement will need to be rebuilt to do the work of meeting the 125,000 refugee admission target, and as we learned in the Obama era, even with a Democrat in the White House, refugees have been a constituency with little power or pull.

But the commitment to work with Congress to create a new floor on refugee admissions is the truly radical aspect of Biden’s new pledge. It would mean that whoever takes office in future could not do what Trump and Stephen Miller did and set a future ceiling at 18,000 or even lower, because there would be legislation in place to preclude it.

If nothing else, these past four years have revealed what kind of statutory protections refugees will require to prevent another Trump-like presidency from closing America’s doors again.

More here.

So for all of you asking me ‘what do we do?’  You need to work to re-elect Donald Trump as I said in November of 2019.  If Biden wins there will be nothing more for me to do. I don’t plan to chronicle into my dotage the cultural and economic death of our country.

Minnesota County Backs Out of Vote on Refugee Resettlement, Opposition Out in Force

“It’s not lost on me the refugees people have such a problem with have black and brown skin.”

(Commissioner Beth Olson speaking in support of refugees for Louisa County)

A week ago, before I was called away for a (happy) family duty, I told you that the St. Louis County, Minnesota County Commission was planning to vote on an issue they tabled months ago—the question is should the county in northern Minnesota open its arms to refugees, or not?

Those who do not want the social and economic burden of ‘welcoming’ third worlders to northern Minnesota came out strongly in advance of the vote.

On Wednesday the Grand Forks Herald  gave this report:

Topic of refugees raises citizen voices in St. Louis County

Peacefully demonstrating in northern Minnesota on Tuesday!

VIRGINIA, Minn. — Throughout most of April and May, only one person who wasn’t previously scheduled to do so spoke on record to the St. Louis County Board.

As the board had gone straight to web-based conferencing once COVID-19 emerged, constituents held back, mostly emailing and voicing their opinions privately to commissioners.

But that changed Tuesday as calls poured in to the site of the board’s remote meeting at the Virginia Government Services Center.

An unofficial count of 94 residents spoke or left voicemails that were aired during the daylong meeting.

“I thought we’d have more calls — I expected more,” board chair Mike Jugovich said, still pleased people seized the opportunity.

Demonstrators in Minneapolis on Wednesday!

The callers were fueled by months of anticipation around the topic of refugee resettlement consent.

And while the board voted to file the issue away with county administration, citing a federal court injunction nullifying a President Donald Trump executive order, people were heard.

[….]

“I’d like to express my disdain for refugees coming to St. Louis County; they can go elsewhere,” said one Mountain Iron caller.

“It’s a disgrace they’re being shoved down our throat,” another woman said. “Nobody wants them here; put them in Minneapolis.”

Commissioner Beth Olson

[….]

Commissioner Beth Olson refuted doubts about vetting, saying refugees were vetted by nine agencies, including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Secret Service.

“It’s not lost on me the refugees people have such a problem with have black and brown skin,” Olson said.

More here.

It is not lost on the citizens of  St. Louis County*** that the Left’s insatiable desire for diversity destroys the social fabric of communities.

Just look at the photos and videos coming out of Minneapolis in the last couple of days!  Any sane person would not want this coming to their towns and cities.

When Trump is gone…..

One of the most persistent arguments, by those who want more refugee resettlement for a given location use, is that the Trump Executive Order (requiring approval by the local county government for refugee resettlement) is tied up in the courts and besides so few refugees are coming now anyway.

Don’t fall for that argument to dodge the issue.

I can’t express strongly enough how important it is for groups like those who took to the streets this week and peacefully demonstrated in Virginia, MN are helping to insure that the message gets out—find another resettlement location in future!

If the Dems win in November, the future is only months away!

Joe Biden says he will open the doors to 125,000 third worlders in year one.

Or, it might be 2025 that the flood gates open!

Whichever it is, from past experience, I have found that the resettlement contractors and the feds will stay away from towns and cities they see as clearly ‘unwelcoming’ because they will still have plenty of locations eager to welcome the multi-cultural Nirvana they foolishly dream of—like the one they have been growing and nourishing for years in Minneapolis!

P.S. Work to make sure Ms. Olson is not elected again!

*** Sorry, I had the county name wrong in my first version of this post!
