Since I was just telling you that we (the Department of State) jumps when the UN says ‘jump!’ I thought it might be a good time to show you the numbers of refugees we are now taking from the DR Congo after Asst. Secretary of State for Population, Refugees and Migration, Anne Richard (formerly a VP at federal resettlement contractor International Rescue Committee) agreed here in 2013 to take 50,000 refugees from the DR Congo off the UN’s hands.

By the way, the Republicans did this too when the UN wanted to clean out its Bhutanese camps on the border of Nepal and then Bush Administration Asst. Secretary Ellen Sauerbrey agreed to invite 60,000 Bhutanese to the US over a five year period—they are still coming!
Here in 2014 we learned the Bhutanese numbers to the US were up to 80,000. But, surprise! Some of them want to go home.
Since fiscal year 2012, we have placed 33,212 from the DR Congo in all but five states (see map below).
The vast majority are Christians of some sort, but there are 1,240 Muslims in the bunch. In FY2012 we resettled 1,863, but by FY2016 we took 16,370 in one year. Expect 2017 to be even higher as the drive is on to get as many refugees in to the US as possible before Obama leaves office.
Our interest in reporting the Congolese numbers was stimulated by the mysterious death this week of an 8-year-old Congolese boy at O’Hare Airport. His family was bound for Texas.
These are very poor people, mostly with limited educations, who will need a couple of generations of care by the US taxpayer before they can return anything to the US economy.
Early reports are that the women are especially traumatized and will need costly mental health treatment.
Here is where the Congolese (DR Congo) refugees have been placed between FY2012 and FY2016 (inclusive). Map from the Refugee Processing Center. Hawaii got zero (didn’t fit on the map), but it rarely gets any anyway.

Refugee child died arriving in Chicago; look for many more problems as the DOS crams them into your towns
My next post today was going to be on this very subject when I spotted this news about an 8-year-old refugee boy from the DR Congo dying mysteriously during a flight change in Chicago. His family was reportedly on the way to Texas and their new home (so much for Governor Abbott’s efforts to close the program in the state).

We will have to wait until an autopsy is performed to learn why the child sickened and died. Here is the news at Breitbart:
“An 8-year-old refugee from Congo died Tuesday after landing at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport,” the local CBS affiliate reports:
David Dieme, an 8-year-old boy landed Tuesday at approximately 4:30 p.m. with a refugee family at O’Hare International Airport.
Dieme was traveling with his father and several other children, who arrived to Chicago on a flight from Dubai. After clearing paperwork, the family was being escorted to their next flight, when a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer noticed Dieme unresponsive.
Emergency Medical Services was immediately notified and arrived at the terminal. Standard procedures are in place to address sick passengers, according to a spokesman for the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. Dieme was sick prior to the flight, but did not report any symptoms on the flight. He was examined at the airport by CDC officials, in an isolated room. Dieme’s temperature was taken, but he had no fever. He experienced diarrhea and vomiting. It was determined he should be taken to the hospital.
Dieme was taken to Presence Resurrection Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Waiting on an autopsy report.
Leahy continues:
Breitbart News has reported extensively on the public health risk to the general public posed by a resurgence of diseases that had been on a path to eradication until the recent influx of migration to the country. Among the diseases newly resurgent are tuberculosis, whooping cough, intestinal parasites, mumps, and measles.
Refugees are required to undergo overseas medical screenings prior to their arrival in the United States. Those screenings, however, do not prohibit refugees with a number of diseases from arriving in the United States. Few arriving refugees, for instance, are tested and treated for latent tuberculosis infection prior to their arrival in the United States.
Though initial domestic medical screenings of all arriving refugees are recommended within ninety days of their arrival, those screenings are not required by either law or regulation.
Go here for more of that news (plus to follow the links I was too lazy to add!).
Is carelessness and neglect of the refugees themselves the inevitable next step as the White House has obviously demanded the program be accelerated?
I think it’s a very real possibility.
Did this child die because it was a rush-job to get his family here?
With the huge number of refugees being flown in to the US right now, look for refugees to not be properly taken care of with possible breaches of the contract the resettlement agencies sign with the Department of State.
Our news above highlights the medical issues that might be overlooked when attempting to get the refugees placed at an accelerated pace. Are they cutting corners on more than security screening?
What you need to do where you live: look for refugees being neglected by the agencies hired to bring them in.
I think there is a very good chance that your local resettlement agency won’t be able to handle the numbers coming in. We are already hearing about drives in many communities to find enough volunteers. (I’ve heard there is a pretty high turnover rate for volunteers as they learn how needy, and sometimes not very grateful, the refugees can be.)
- If you see refugees confused and wandering in an airport, take note. They are supposed to be met by the resettlement agency and escorted to an apartment where the refrigerator is required to be stocked with culturally appropriate food.
- Get friendly with the local medical officials in your town and stay on top of any notices being released to the public about health threats arriving in your community. Try to find out if the refugees are being screened in the prescribed time frame and whether school-aged children are being vaccinated.
- Look for refugees being placed in temporary housing. Refugees are supposed to have apartments/houses that have sleeping space for large families. (You probably have a zoning code requiring certain limits on family size for the size of the apartment.)
- Keep an eye out for any news about refugees being homeless (yes, that is happening).
- Report any suspicions about refugee kids turning up at school hungry or sick.
- If you see or hear that refugees are not being supplied with adequate winter clothing and bedding, take note.
- You should try to find out how many refugees are living in your community and what sort of housing they have. Have they been placed in dangerous slums. Especially try to determine if any of your local poor and disabled are being bumped down the list for subsidized housing.
- See if refugees who speak little English are being bugged unnecessarily soon by the resettlement agency for the repayment of the airfare loan (which they get a cut of!).
- Maybe even volunteer yourself so that you will have firsthand knowledge of any shortcuts the resettlement agencies are taking in the care of the refugees. Remember the contractors are supposed to be putting their own time and money into this and if they can’t do a good job they need to say to the DOS—we can’t handle that many refugees! Don’t send so many. (NOT! Ask for more federal money.)
So what do you do if you believe refugees are being neglected, contact the US Department of State.

UN gearing up to promote new wave of refugees to the West/US
Hint: This ethnic groups starts with an ‘S’ but it’s not Syria this time!
We are starting to see stories lamenting the newest wave of migrants on the move. About a million of them are fleeing South Sudan! Stories are starting to pop up to begin to set the stage (to get your minds right) on the need to add more ‘refugees’ from South Sudan to our already large flow from Africa.
Why are civil wars around the globe our problem?

This is one of many stories I’ve seen lately where the propaganda pressure (the guilt-tripping) has begun. They are not talking about third country resettlement yet (that I am aware of), but surely it is not far behind, so I am prepping you here to be ready when it comes (and creating a new tag for South Sudan).
From the BBC in mid-September:
The number of people who have fled South Sudan because of the country’s civil war has passed the one million mark, the UN refugee agency says.
Fighting that broke out in the capital, Juba, in July is responsible for the latest surge in those fleeing, it says.
More than 1.6 million people are also displaced within South Sudan, meaning about 20% of the population have been made homeless since December 2013.
A fragile peace deal signed last year is on the brink of collapse.
And here is a United Nations story from last week.
So when the push begins (we missed it for the DR Congo lobbying effort which has resulted in 50,000 being placed in American towns) to bring a new wave of South Sudanese here by the tens of thousands, remember this wikipedia description (below) of the Civil War and demand to know why is this our problem? Why do we need to move more South Sudanese into the US?
(I have posted this detailed to description to show how this is so-not our problem.)
The South Sudanese Civil War was a conflict in South Sudan between forces of the government and opposition forces.[45][46][47][48]
In December 2013, a political power struggle broke out between President Kiir and his former deputy Riek Machar.[49] The president accused Mr. Machar and ten others of attempting a coup d’état.[50] Machar denied trying to start a coup and fled, calling for Kiir to resign.[51] Fighting broke out between the SPLM and the SPLM – in opposition, igniting the civil war. Ugandan troops were deployed to fight alongside South Sudanese government forces against the rebels.[52] In January 2014 the first ceasefire agreement was reached. Fighting still continued and would be followed by several more ceasefire agreements. Negotiations were mediated by “IGAD +” (which includes the eight regional nations called the Intergovernmental Authority on Development as well as the African Union, United Nations, China, the EU, USA, UK and Norway). A peace agreement known as the “Compromise Peace Agreement” was signed in Ethiopia under threat of United Nations sanctions for both sides in August 2015.[53] Machar returned to Juba in 2016 and was appointed vice president.[54] Following a second breakout of fighting within Juba, Machar fled again and went to exile in the Sudan.[55]
Up to 300,000 people are estimated to have been killed in the war, including notable atrocities such as the 2014 Bentiu massacre.[37][56] Although both men have supporters from across South Sudan’s ethnic divides, subsequent fighting has had ethnic undertones. Mr. Kiir’s Dinka ethnic group has been accused of attacking other ethnic groups and Mr. Machar’ Nuer ethnic group has been accused of attacking the Dinka.[57] More than 1,000,000 people have been displaced inside South Sudan and more than 400,000 people have fled to neighbouring countries,[58] especially Kenya, Sudan, and Uganda, as a result of the conflict.[59]
Civil wars will never end in Africa and the Middle East and we need to more forcefully say—send some humanitarian aid if we must, but let them fight it out! Do not move them to American towns!
This is insane! Taxpayers pay rent for Somalis who feel the need to visit Somalia (for months!)
You cannot make this up! Virtually all Somalis who live in the US came here (we are told) as poor refugees (there are going on 200,000 of them). So how persecuted and fearful of returning home are they if many travel back and forth to Africa and the taxpayers of Minneapolis cover most of their rent while they are gone!
By the way, Somalis are not the only (fake) persecuted and impoverished ‘refugees’ who go ‘home’ for visits from time to time.
This is the story at the Minneapolis Star Tribune:
Public housing residents in Minneapolis will no longer need to pay their normal monthly rent when travel abroad erases their income, a change particularly sought by East African immigrants.
The board of the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority approved this week reverting to its previous policy of collecting only minimal rent during extended absences. The change takes effect once approved by federal housing officials, which is expected by year’s end.

Abdi Warsame, a City Council member, told the board that the policy in place for the past five years works a particular hardship on elderly East Africans who must save for long periods if they want to visit their homelands. He said that many receive federal Supplemental Security Income, which is halted when the recipient is outside the United States.
Yet the policy required people to keep paying rent, which is income-based. Travelers gone for 30 to 90 days could apply for a hardship, which meant that they paid the minimum $75 monthly rent during their absence, but were required to make up the difference between that and their normal rent over the next year or two.
The change will mean that residents will pay only the $75 minimum per month, assuming they apply for the hardship status. [Hardship status! Hardship status! How many of you have airfare money to fly to Africa?—ed]
From 50 to 75 public housing residents report such absences annually, according to Mary Boler, an agency manager. She said the cost of the change will be less than $50,000. The agency found that the paperwork burden of tracking repayment was higher than anticipated.
“This was brought up to us again and again and again in every building we visited in our ward,” Warsame said. “Everybody was afraid to leave the country.” [But they weren’t afraid to go home to Somalia the country they supposedly escaped from???—ed]
We are such suckers!
By the way, one reason given for travel is the Hajj (it lasts 4 days not 30-90 days).
Additionally, I wonder is some Somali community activist group getting grants from the feds like the one in Maine.
St. Cloud Somali Jihadist one of nearly 150,000 Somalis admitted to US in refugee program in over 3 decades
I don’t know what to make of the fact that the Somali jihadist in St. Cloud, MN has not been officially identified when his father and the Somali ‘community’ fingered him yesterday.
Here is what the Minneapolis Star Tribune said about his identity. Here is my post yesterday.

Breitbart has a story pinning the blame for the large number of Somalis in the US on Hillary Clinton, but let’s be fair! Every President’s State Department since the early ’80’s has admitted Somalis to America.
Back in 2008 I painstakingly went back to annual reports for many years (before we had access to the Refugee Processing Center) and here is what I reported and subsequently updated each year since.
I’ve taken the numbers I had gathered and grouped them by the President whose State Department was admitting the refugees. If, as we are told, the St. Cloud jihadist came to America with his family 15 years ago, that would have put him in Clinton’s last bunch or Bush’s first bunch.
We have been taking Somalis ever since Somalia’s civil war in the 1980’s. Why is it our problem if the myriad Somali clans can’t get along or govern themselves!
The numbers below are only for the US Refugee Admissions Program!
(These numbers do not include other ways Somalis have entered the US such as Temporary Protected Status, Diversity Visa Lottery winners, asylum seekers, students and other who over-stayed visas, or illegal aliens we have not yet found.)
Reagan and Bush (the first): 4,413
1983-93: 4,413
(Black Hawk Down, Oct. 3, 1993)
Bill Clinton: 35,635
1994: 3,508
1995: 2,524
1996: 6,440
1997: 4,948
1998: 2,952
1999: 4,321
2000: 6,002
2001: 4,940
George W. Bush (43): 48,865
2002: 242 (Guesses why this is so low? 9/11 freaked everyone out!)
2003: 1,708
2004: 12,814
2005: 10,101
2006: 10,330
2007: 6,958
2008: 2,523 (family reunification suspended when widespread fraud discovered)
2009: 4,189 (on the rise again even though family reunification is suspended still!)
Barack Hussein Obama: 46,378 (so far)
2010: 4,884
2011: 3,161
2012: 4,921
2013: 7,600
2014: 9,000
2015: 8,858
2016 (one month short of a full year): 7,954 (1,099 went to Minnesota in the last 11 months)
2017: Technically this is O’s too because he is right now (September 2016) making the decision for 2017.
I figured (above) for the first year of a new President, who comes in to office almost 4 months after the fiscal year began, he is not responsible for that year’s refugee numbers.
The question everyone should be asking this week, after noticing that security screening is useless if the Muslim ‘youths’ we raised with our tax dollars grow up to be killers, is, WHY ARE WE STILL TAKING IN SOMALIS GOING ON 4 DECADES! WHY DID WE TAKE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE? WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR SOMALIA FOREVER ARE WE?
Call your Member of Congress and US Senators today and all week! Tell them to cut off the flow of migrants from terror-producing countries by cutting off the funding in the Continuing Resolution!
Tell them to get on the Babin/Brat letter!
