Belgium: Afghan asylum-seekers denied asylum, but refuse to leave

Editors note:  If you are a subscriber and received last night’s post about “refugees” from Chicago, you might want to revisit the post for my correction.  They were Americans seeking refuge in Madison, Wisconsin as they escaped war-torn Chicago!

Afghan asylum seekers protesting in Brussels.

What a mess!  Europe is being swamped with Muslim refugees from the Arab world.  It’s an influx so large that it will ultimately sink those socialist countries economically and socially.  And, yet you also know these asylum-seekers have much to fear because when the US is gone from Afghanistan a blood bath is coming.

I would like to know the reason that these families have been ordered deported, but unfortunately the media is always quick to paint any “refugees” as completely vulnerable and innocent of any wrong-doing.  In the accompanying news clip and in very good English, one of the women accuses Europeans of not caring about women and children (they have the lingo down pat!).

From Press TV:

Four families are living in this one small room. [Watch the accompanying news clip—ed].  This is where they eat and sleep. They are among a group of approximately 450 people from Afghanistan who are now living in this Brussels City Centre building. The population consists of dozens of families and almost 100 children. The Afghans are now refusing to leave this centre for asylum seekers after all of their applications for refugee status and residency were turned down by Belgian authorities.

The Afghan families say that their request for asylum is fully legitimate claiming that men who refuse to join the Taliban in Afghanistan face the risk of being killed.

Some of the families claim that they paid gangs up to 30,000 U.S dollars in order to get safe passage out of Afghanistan and into the E.U. Now they face a very uncertain future.  [Where do these ‘poor’ people get all this money, does no reporter ever ask?  Are they funded by rich groups (or governments) which want to destabilize Europe?—ed]

It is currently impossible to know how this impasse will end. Belgian authorities are insisting that these people must go while the people themselves are equally adamant that they won’t leave.

It’s only going to get worse!

Maybe it’s time for Daniel Pipes’ “culture zone” concept!  Move them on to rich Muslim countries!

Syrians march and demand asylum in Switzerland

It’s about the children.

Looks to me like the Syrian refugees who have taken to the streets in Bern demanding asylum are getting professional community organizing help in crafting their message.

Syrians: We have the right to live in Switzerland! Of course the photo is from Occupy.com!

We’ve reported before about the growing tension in Switzerland where the Swiss are world famous for holding on to their ‘Swiss-ness’ (Not a word I know!).  Here are two recent post (click here and here).

So it’s no surprise that, as this article (Truth out) reports, their marching went largely unnoticed by the Swiss public:

BERN, Switzerland — Due to Syria’s civil war and the refugee crisis it has produced, the political standoff between asylum-seekers in Switzerland and the government body tasked with deciding their status — the Bundesamt für Migration (BFM), or Federal Migration Office — has in the last week become a standoff in a very real sense.

Since September 9, Syrian refugees impatient with what in many cases has been the BFM’s years-long lack of response to their needs have been braving the autumnal chill in an improvised camp in front of the office’s main building in Bern. Eleven of the upwards of 100 demonstrators began a hunger strike on Saturday.

The asylum-seekers — many of whom have been in Switzerland since the onset of the Syrian revolution in 2011, or longer, and around 40 of whom are children — have resolved not to leave until their status is officially decided.

[….]

The march was headed by children from the camp, one of whom sat on his father’s shoulders and gleefully led chants, in German using a megaphone, like, “We love Switzerland but Switzerland doesn’t love us. ”The moving spectacle went almost unnoticed by locals as the march wound its way through quiet neighborhoods and empty parklands along the police-approved route, from the far-flung BFM towards the Bern city center.

Sounds like Helin went to the Barack Obama International School of Communist Community Organizing!

“These children want to go to school. If they could, they would go tomorrow,” intoned Helin, a young Syrian woman who has been in Switzerland for five years [before the Syrian civil war?—ed] and has what is known as a B-permit (non-permanent residence). She has been working as a translator and liaison for the activists. “Look at them, they have a life, they have rights,” she said of the children. “Give them a future.”

See Occupy.com (what else!) for the photo and more!

Swedes express fear about future of their country as government opens the doors to Syrians

I saw this story this morning on twitter (thanks to Fjordman).  It reports the reaction of Swedes who are willing to tell the truth about what is happening to their country, albeit readers must get through 20 paragraphs or so of blather before getting to the juicy part.  Blather about how “welcoming” Sweden is to immigrants, blather about how generous the socialists of Sweden are, and blather about how they are a bit annoyed at the rest of the world (the US, Russia and Israel specifically) because other countries don’t share their generosity toward immigrants.

As I see it, at least we aren’t as stupid as the Swedes, but we are working on it!

See our earlier post when Sweden announced (for Obama’s benefit) that they were letting in any-and-all Syrians who want to come and live there permanently.

My Imaginary Socialist Swede:  We’ll destroy our country in the process, but we will show those stingy racist Americans what good people we are!

So about twenty paragraphs into this article, the other shoe drops!

Gothenburg Mosque, one of several in the city, was funded by Saudi Arabia

From Digital Journal (emphasis mine);

And here’s where things get a bit sensitive, especially in such an overtly politically correct society as Sweden. Most immigrants, says Scheldt (Gothenburg resident Jonas Scheldt), are “Muslims from harsh backgrounds and traditions.”

“Approximately 10 percent of Sweden today are Muslims from the Middle East and North Africa,” Scheldt continues. “Most of them don’t work. They breed like rabbits. They want special Sharia law. They don’t want music in schools. They’re against homosexuals, abortion, human rights. Some Swedes are becoming afraid of what’s to come in the future.”

Fear for the future of their country. It’s a theme echoed by some of the other Swedes we interviewed.

“Afraid, yes that’s the right word for Swedes,” agrees Weibert.

Fear of increasing crime, which many Swedes blame on the increased immigrant population, is palpable.

“Since we are a socialist country with a ‘humane’ way of thinking, we have been creating problems for ourselves,” argues Weibert. “We have a huge problem right now with segregation and ‘hoods.’

And that’s only because we’ve opened our arms to everybody without having the ability to take care of all the people in the right way. So now we are having problems in Gothenburg with shootings, which take place almost every day now.”

“Crime has gone sky high,” concurs Scheldt. “There were five shootings last week in Gothenburg.”

Such crimes were virtually unheard of a generation ago.

There are other crimes that Swedes blame on immigrants.

“In Malmö the Jews are being persecuted by Muslims because of Israel’s wrongdoing,” adds Scheldt. “Sweden also now has one of the world’s highest rates of rape. When I was young, we didn’t have to lock our doors. Girls are afraid to walk home in the evening. There’s more violence, missing people, trafficking, drugs, killings [and] abuse of the welfare system.”

“Sweden has never been like this before,” Scheldt says. “My 75-year-old father has been knocked down and robbed twice in the past two years. My sister got stabbed.”

Maybe Sweden will wake up in time, but they have such a huge Muslim population now I doubt they can reverse their downward trajectory.  But, look on the bright side—as the country dies, watching the death throes might be enough to shake some sense into other Western countries before it’s too late.    That is why we write about Sweden so often.

About the photo:  You can read about the mosque here at wikipedia.  I had planned to use a photo of Muslim immigrants that was published with the original story this morning, but I see it’s gone.  Funny how the media is so skittish about showing Muslim faces.

So much for “welcoming the stranger” in the socialist dream land of South Africa

Dubbed the “Rainbow Nation” by the world’s communist and socialist dreamers, South Africa is anything but a mecca for all people.

They call it “xenophobia” here instead of “racism” because the crimes being perpetrated on Somalis (and vice versa) are black on black crime.

This Time magazine photo is from the 2008 riots. South African blacks’ anger was focused on “refugees” from other African nations.

Oh, the irony!

From the Global Post:

More than 150 Somali-owned shops have been looted in four days of xenophobic violence in South Africa’s coastal city of Port Elizabeth, police said Wednesday.

“Since Sunday when all the trouble started, 150 shops have been looted and it is spreading to other townships. The situation is still tense,” police spokeswoman colonel Sibongile Soci told AFP.

At least 70 suspects have been arrested in connection with the pillaging and will appear in court this week, she said.

The ransacking of the small shops that sell mainly groceries and popularly know as spazas, was sparked by the killing of a 19-year-old South African boy by a Somali shop owner on Sunday.

It occurred in New Brighton township following an argument over cellphone airtime.

Since then, attacks on the shops spiralled and spread to other townships as locals claim they were avenging the killing.

Amid widespread poverty and unemployment, frustration in South Africa’s run-down neighbourhoods often boils over into anti-immigrant violence.  [Remember there was a time when South Africa was the jewel of the continent—ed]

An explosion of deadly attacks in 2008 killed more than 60 people and displaced thousands into refugee-style camps.

The African Centre for Migration and Society, a think tank, says 140 foreigners were killed and 250 seriously injured in the country last year.

[…..]

A Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University social commentator Theodore Petrus said South Africans needed to correct the misconception that foreigners are here to take their jobs and women.

We have written a lot about the “xenophobia” crisis plaguing this increasingly impoverished country.  See ‘Rainbow Nation’ here.

Editor’s note:  For regular readers, we have posted stories from India, Israel and Australia [update:  Sweden] in recent days about migrants and the impact they are having as they arrive illegally in modern capitalist countries looking for asylum, the warning signs should be very clear for America.  At some point in time, we will be facing the same problems on a national scale—violence, riots, and political upheaval.  We need to get our borders sealed now!

Israeli high court decision infuriates residents of Tel Aviv

This is more about the on-going controversy surrounding African ‘asylum-seekers’ who got into Israel before their border fence was complete.  The Israeli high court has ruled that Africans imprisoned in Israel must be given a trial.

African men stand in charity food line in Tel Aviv. Obviously all African migrants are not in Israeli prisons.

One political leader who is vehemently opposed to the decision, said what so many people haven’t the nerve to say to liberal promoters of refugee resettlement—-why don’t you take one to your neighborhood?  Better still go one step further and open your own homes to them?   Indeed that would be true Christian or Jewish charity!

Here is the story in the Failed Messiah (as always emphasis is mine):

On Monday, Israel’s High Court of Justice ruled that the government is not allowed to imprison African refugees years without trial. Until now, the government has detained some African refugees for as long as three years under the Knesset’s Prevention of Infiltration Law amendment, even though they have not been charged with crimes and have not had trials. The court ruled 9-0 that the Prevention of Infiltration Law amendment amendment is unconstitutional.

There are reportedly currently 1,750 African refugees imprisoned without trial. Most of those are Sudanese and Eritrean.

The government has 90 days to comply with the ruling.

The High Court’s decision infuriated right wing Knesset members, Yeshiva World reported, and also enraged many Israelis living in South Tel Aviv where large numbers of African refugees congregate.

MK Eli Yishai of the Sefardi haredi Shas Party lashed out at the court’s justices yesterday in an interview with Israel Radio.

“[The justices and left wing refugee advocates should] take one [African refugee] home to their own area and then talk to me,” Yishai reportedly fumed. He also insisted that African refugees have destroyed southern Tel Aviv with crime and with their lifestyle and said he would continue his efforts imprison all of them, despite the High Court’s ruling.

Yishai justified his open defiance of the High Court of Justice by claiming that his first loyalty is to the citizens of Israel and the State of Israel – not to the African refugees he refers to as “infiltrators.”

Justice Minister Tzipi Livni said the court’s ruling forces her and her Knesset colleagues to find another solution to the problem.

“Most of them are not refugees as they wish us to believe…If there is no solution we will have to find one. There is the issue of addressing the border and preventing infiltrations and then the matter of how we deal with those already in the country,” Livini reportedly said, indicating that deportation may have to be that answer.

Under international agreements signed by Israel and international law, deporting many of these refugees would be illegal.

The Knesset’s Interior Committee Chairwoman MK Miri Regev was even more blunt than Livni.

“[the court’s decision] is the Garden of Eden for the infiltrators and hell for southern Tel Aviv residents,” Regev reportedly said. She wants to pass a bill immediately to overrule the High Court’s ruling so the “infiltrators” can be kept locked up.
