We’ve been reporting on Canada’s extensive ‘airlift’ of 25,000 plus Syrians since the election of Justin Trudeau only 6 months ago. (click here for our Canada category)
This is a very interesting article published at The Hill Times that explains the criticism being leveled at the government for promoting Syrian refugee camp images to sell the airlift while most of the 25,000 + who were ultimately resettled were living in apartments throughout the region.
Apparently a decision was made to not show the Syrians living in apartments and participating in the local economy because that image would not persuade Canadians (who shelled out huge sums for the hasty resettlement) that they were in dire need of rescue.
In any case they allowed the UNHCR to choose their refugees and vouch for them on security grounds.
One of the things I would like to know is, what percentage of the new Canadians are Sunni Muslims and what percentage are religious minorities. Not one word in this whole article.
As we reported here in February, the Senate Homeland Security Committee is worried about who might have been hastily admitted to Canada to fulfill Trudeau’s election promise.
Is it time to start worrying about a border fence with Canada?

Canada: Syrian airlift making history, 26,000 have arrived with 10,000 more being 'welcomed'
They are having a problem finding housing, but what the heck, let’em in!
From The Guardian:
Canada will take in an additional 10,000 Syrian refugees, adding to the more than 25,000 already received in the last few months, said immigration minister John McCallum.
McCallum told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp he was responding to complaints from Canadian groups who want to sponsor Syrian refugees but did not have their applications processed quickly enough to be among the government’s initial target of 25,000.
“We are doing everything we can to accommodate the very welcomed desire on the part of Canadians to sponsor refugees,” McCallum said in a phone interview with CBC News from Berlin, where he is meeting with the German interior minister.
By the way, Canada’s system is different from ours. They have some government resettled refugees and some privately sponsored ones, ours are all taxpayer-funded refugees with no private sponsorships. Although I think that legally a group/church could still sponsor a refugee family to America, but the resettlement contractors would probably scream bloody murder because it could cut into the numbers they are paid to seed throughout the country.

Washington Post: Boo hoo, Syrian resettlement to US going sloooowly
It appears that the reason the resettlement of mostly Sunni Syrians to the US (less than 1,000) in roughly the same time period as Canada is seeding 25,000 throughout our neighbor to the north, is that the US is taking serious security measures while Canada is not.
Obama has promised 10,000 will be resettled here before September 30th (the last day of fiscal year 2016), but so far deep in the bowels of our security apparatus some officials are taking their jobs seriously. That said, the WaPo tells us that the screening is being dramatically stepped up right now.
Here is the Washington Post (skipping the obligatory ‘poster mom and kids’ that open the report!):
….by the end of February, less than 1,000 Syrians have made it to the United States, and resettlement experts question whether the United States can reach its target by September.
[….]
Between February and April, the State Department and Homeland Security Department are pulling in additional staff to Jordan to help interview more and more Syrian applicants. The U.S. Embassy in Jordan said 30 officers from Homeland Security have been posted to Jordan and a new facility has been opened. Similiar efforts are underway in Lebanon and Iraq.
[….]
The U.N. refugee agency, which first interviews Syrians and refers vulnerable cases to U.S. authorities, also have shifted into a higher level of energy. Staff have been relocated to Amman from across the region, with evening shifts being put in place. In phone banks, U.N. staff members call refugees who may eligible for resettlement.
[….]
Andrew Harper, the U.N. refugee agency’s representative to Jordan, said the speedy resettlement of 25,000 Syrians in Canada has shown what can be done. But the big difference between Canada and the United States, Harper acknowledged, is their level of security concerns.
More here. It simply is not true what the ‘humanitarians’ claim that terrorists don’t get in to the US as refugees. Even the New York Times admits they do, here.
Just a reminder! If Bernie or Hillary are elected President in November, you can be sure there will be no interruption in the flow of Middle Eastern and North African Muslims to the US. It will be all over for us because after 4 or 8 more years of unabated flow, erasing America will be a done deal. Get everyone you know to the polls this year!
For a chuckle: Canadian says she will 'welcome' Trump refugees, but not the thousands of Syrian Muslims
I’m surprised the LA Times even published this woman’s remarks when asked how she felt about all those Americans who say they will move to Canada if Donald Trump is elected president.
Here is Elaine….
Elaine Munro, 62, is a retail customer service clerk in Almonte, just outside Ottawa.
“I would rather have a bunch of Americans than all of these Muslims [the Canadian government is] bringing in,” she said. “I am totally against that. They’re taking jobs that Canadians have. The [Canadian] government is setting them up better than how Canadians are being looked after. Healthcare is being overrun by [Syrian refugees].”
Readers here know that boy Trudeau promised Canada would take 25,000 Syrians within a few months of his election as prime minister and sure enough he has (much to the consternation of Canadians like Elaine).
Thousands are living in hotels (on the taxpayers’ dime) throughout Canada as the country doesn’t have an adequate supply of housing especially for large families.
Trudeau will be “on the hot seat” in a 60 Minutes interview to be aired Sunday evening, for more click here.

Canadian Imam prays with Syrian refugees, asks Allah to destroy enemies of Islam
….and he loves Justin Trudeau!
For new readers, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau promises to resettle tens of thousands of Syrian Muslims in coming weeks, months and years.
From CIJ News:
Alberta Islamic Welfare Association hosted on Family Day (February 5, 2016) Syrian refugees and their families for a social gathering with members of the local Muslim community in Edmonton and the Imam Shaban Sherif Mady.

Sheikh Shaban Sherif Mady (شعبان شريف ماضي), was a scholar at al-Azhar theological school in Egypt and served at the Ministry of Endowment and Ministry of Education of the Egyptian government. Today, he is the Imam of a Muslim congregation in Edmonton, Alberta which holds its Friday prayers at Glengarry Hall in Edmonton.
In his speech to the Syria refugees, Shaban Sherif Mady greeted them, emphasized the merits of the people of Greater Syria in the eyes of Allah for defeating the Crusaders and the Tatars and ended with a supplication to Allah. The following is an excerpt of the supplication (originally in Arabic):
“O Allah! Strengthen the mujahideen [jihad fighters in the path of Allah] everywhere, make their hearts firm and strong, let them hit their targets, give them victory over their enemies.
“O Allah! Destroy the oppressors.
“O Allah! Destroy your enemies, the enemies of religion (Islam).
“O Allah! Whoever wishes good for Islam and the Muslims bestow all goodness upon him.
“O Allah! Whoever wishes ill for us and wishes ill for Islam and the Muslims, make his plot (tied) around his neck and make him preoccupied with himself, and make his plan cause his own destruction.”
