Canada seriously hunting down its criminal alien refugees and immigrants

Of course all the media in the US is filled with the news that Obama is going to deport fewer people while Canada goes on a serious hunt for criminal aliens.

From the CBC:

The federal government is seeking the public’s help again in its hunt for people wanted on immigration warrants, focusing on 32 foreign-born fugitives.

“They abused a valued privilege and are no longer welcome in our country,” said Public Safety Minister Vic Toews, launching the Canada Border Services Agency’s new website to identify non-Canadians convicted of crimes in Canada and subject to removal orders who have since disappeared.

Toews announced the latest list Thursday in Toronto, accompanied by his parliamentary secretary Candice Hoeppner, the parliamentary secretary to the defence minister, Chris Alexander, and the president of the Canada Border Services Agency, Luc Portelance.

The 32 people on Toews’s new list are in addition to 30 suspected of war crimes that he named on July 21, when the Canada Border Services Agency launched a website identifying the suspects and calling for any information that could lead to their whereabouts.

[…..]

This list targets only a few of the estimated 1,400 individuals in the Toronto area, and approximately 2,700 individuals nationally who are currently wanted for removal from Canada.

Nine of the individuals on the new list were born in Jamaica. Four are from China and another four are from Guyana. Four were born in other Caribbean or Central American countries, and three are from Africa. The list also includes two born in India, two born in Sri Lanka, three born in European countries and one born in the United States. Two are women.

“They will find no haven on our shores,” Toews vowed.

Canadian readers may say this is just for media consumption and it’s not enough, but at least the ‘talk’ is headed in the right direction.

Edmonton, Canada to throw money and programs at the immigrant crime problem

We have so many posts on Somali murders in Edmonton that I’ve lost track of them (check our Canada category if you are interested).

And, I don’t want to make this the Canadian refugee watch blog, but it’s just that lots of interesting news is coming from Canada these days.

I could barely stand reading this story in the Edmonton Sun, because it’s the typical leftist solution to crime—let’s throw money and create task forces to create programs to prevent crime.

Here is one bit:

More than 120 members are a part of REACH that emerged out of the mayor’s Taskforce on Community Safety back in 2009.

There are 30 initiatives in the works through the program to support those in the community that need it most – specifically, youth and immigrant families who may be struggling.

“If you spend on prevention, then you save huge down the road,” said Daniller. [Really? Got some facts on that?—ed]

“We have a goal of making Edmonton a safe community. Our mission is to do it in one generation by focusing on crime prevention.”

I have an idea, why not simply try swift criminal justice—prosecutions and long prison sentences (or that novel idea Canada already has—deporting to places like Mogadishu—that might scare them straight!)—to deter crime.

We know how that government “programs” and public funding has worked out for the UK, right?

In Canada refugee criminals to be tracked down with the help of the media; deported

I guess they really are getting serious north of the border!   Below is a story about the Winnipeg Sun helping to track down a criminal refugee by publishing his photo.

By the way, deporting someone to Somalia is a big deal!  We reported on one such case here where a Somali convicted as a gang member in Canada was just dropped off in Mogadishu.  Did you know the US doesn’t deport to Somalia?  We just keep them in prison, like the Minneapolis rapist we reported yesterday, at taxpayer expense.

Or, like Omar Jamal we just let them stay (with no jail time) to become community agitators for the Somali “community.”  For fun I checked to see how many times we discussed Jamal (the Somali Jesse Jackson) over the last 4 years and it’s 60 times (see our Omar Jamal archive here.)!  Jamal had been convicted in Tennessee of immigration fraud after sneaking in here from Canada.  I wonder if we can give him back to Canada?  But I digress….

From the Toronto Sun:

WINNIPEG – Public Safety Minister Vic Toews says refugee criminals on the lam in Canada could soon face the same wrath as suspected war criminals who are being arrested after QMI Agency began publishing their names and pictures this summer.

And the Winnipeg Sun has played a key role in making that happen, says Toews.

He credits the paper for its series of stories last year on refugee criminal Mohamed Said Jama, who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant and eventually captured after his name and picture were featured in the Sun. [We reported on Jama here in 2010]

Jama — who had a lengthy violent, criminal record and has since been deported to his native Somalia — was caught shortly after his name and photograph was published.

Toews said that opened his eyes to how powerful a tool the media can be in capturing refugee criminals and suspected war criminals on the loose in Canada.

The minister said his department is now looking at expanding that program to help track down convicted foreign criminals like Jama who are hiding out in Canada.

Go for it!

P.S.  I note they don’t mind using the “r” word (refugee)  in conjunction with criminal activity either.

Canada clearing out its troublesome “refugees,” extradites Somali to Minnesota

Canada appears to be doing what it says it will do—getting rid of its asylum-seeking criminals.

This guy, ho hum another Somali, was wanted in the US for breaking into a home in 2009 and raping a 15-year old.  Hat tip: Cliff.

From Fox 9 News:

MINNEAPOLIS – A Somali man has been arrested and extradited from Canada to face charges in a 2009 Minneapolis home break-in and sexual assault of two teenage girls.

Yahye Abdisalan, 33, was charged last April with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, second-degree attempted criminal sexual conduct and burglary in connection with the December 2009 incident.

According to the criminal complaint, a 17-year-old girl woke up to Abdisalan in her bed, touching her leg. When he pulled of his pants and the girl acted oddly, Abdisalan said “you must not be her.” He then went to the bed of the girl’s 15-year-old sister.

The first girl ran to her parents’ room and alerted them to the attack. Meanwhile, Abdisalan sexually assaulted the 15-year-old girl in her bed. When the parents started toward the girl’s room, Abdisalan took off running down the stairs and out of the apartment.

The girls’ mother was able to grab Abdisalan’s stocking cap as he fled. DNA evidence from the cap was matched to DNA found on the 15-year-old girl.

The Hennepin County attorney’s office obtained a grand jury indictment so that if convicted, Abdisalan can be sentenced to life in prison.

“There are a number of ways to deal with (repeat) sex offenders,” explained Hennepin County Prosecutor Mike Freeman. “I can’t think of a better one than sending him away for life without the opportunity of parole.”

However, Monday’s appearance was far from the first time Abdisalan has been before a judge. In 2002, the Somalia native entered a guilty plea for attempting to sexually assault an 8-year-old girl until her sister started screaming.

Tip to crime victims, grab that hat it’s a treasure trove of information!

By the way, I wonder what it’s going to cost US taxpayers to keep this creep in jail for life—maybe we should seek some reimbursement from the resettlement agency (you know the federal contractors like the wealthy US Conference of Catholic Bishops) that was responsible for his adjustment to America.

For new readers:

The US has admitted well over 100,000 Somali refugees to the US since the early 1990′s (they were trickling in in the 1980′s).   To check out the numbers visit this post, one of our most widely read posts over the last few years.   In FY2010 which ended September 30th the US State Department resettled 4,884 Somalis (here) to towns near you.  The “teen” would-be bomber in Oregon was one of the refugees.

Also, after being closed for nearly two years, the US State Department is on the verge (has been on the verge for months and months!)  of resuming the fraud-ridden family reunification program that admitted as many as 36,000 Somalis fraudulently to the US between 2003 and 2008.  See the latest on new regulations, here.

VEEP’s wife visits the hungry

You can bet we will be bringing many more Somalis to the US in light of the “crisis” on-going now in the Horn of Africa.  Here Jill Biden, Joe’s wife, visits the hungry.  Hubby Joe created the Refugee Act of 1980 with Ted (don’t bring any to Hyannis Port) Kennedy.   Joe’s home state of Delaware is near the bottom of the list for states resettling refugees. The hypocrisy of the “caring class” is stunning beyond belief!

Also,  since Somalis are coming illegally across our borders maybe the rapist in this article isn’t a refugee but came to the US with the help of  American NGOs and asked for asylum.

Note to Canadian Somalis: no offense, but stick with murdering each other

That’s kind of the wrap up to this interesting commentary at Taki’s Magazine on the Edmonton, Canada Somali murder rate.  Hat tip: Mars.

From Kathy Shaidle (Five Feet of Fury) posted at Taki’s Magazine:

Let’s consider ourselves fortunate that Canada’s Somali settlers—the word “immigrant” is so 20th century—seem more or less content with killing each other.

On the last day of July, the Edmonton Journal devoted not two, not three, but seven articles to the latest spate of intra-Somali murders in Alberta’s capital.

(Nicknamed “Deadmonton,” that city leads Canada in homicides this year, with 29 so far—four of those victims being Somali “youths.”)

The Edmonton Journal depicts a community of approximately 10,000 self-effacing newcomers scratching out modest livings and shaken by the statistically significant number of dead sons they’ve been obliged to bury.

Canada has a most wanted for deportation list I’ve been meaning to tell you about.  Here is one story last week that I never got around to posting.  Shaidle references it here:

Even though the Journal’s series coincided with the “controversial” publication of “wanted posters” for war criminals illegally residing in Canada, their reporters didn’t mention that four of the 30 facing deportation are Somalis—along with Afghanistan, the highest number from a single country. That would have made for an enlightening “conversation” at that Edmonton “cafe,” since we’re informed elsewhere that “for many in the Somali community, the distinction between right and wrong is not as clear-cut as government officials would hope.”

Canada to spend nearly two million to integrate Somalis

Edmonton’s Somalis, if the Journal is to be believed, don’t sound like a people who didn’t have a standard alphabet until 1972 or had “never seen a two-story building” before moving to North America.

Regardless, they still cost us money. The Alberta government has pledged $1.9 million dollars to fund “programming” to help Somalis “integrate into mainstream society.”

Of course, that’s a pittance compared to long-term “wear and tear” on the social infrastructure. Take the 98% of Somali females who are victims of genital mutilation, which causes a number of health problems requiring treatment. (Since hymen-replacement surgery is matter-of-factly performed on female Muslims in Canada, it would be naive to presume that FGM isn’t being carried out as well, albeit in “unofficial” settings.)

The average Somali household “has seven median children and the median household income falls well below average.” The financial burdens they place on Canadian taxpayers should be obvious.

There is a lot more, including many links to additional information.  I’ve only touched on a few highlights.  Read on.
