Writer: Get Ready for Climate Refugees!

You are getting old says George Washington University grad student Rosemary Dent so the US must get ready for the climate refugee migration which will supply America with a whole younger generation of (diverse!) workers to help pay for us geezers.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

I’ve been warning for years that the Leftwing media has been busy dropping information like rabbit turds about how the US (and the western world) has a whole new migration crisis brewing from those on the move due to changes in the weather.

The ‘droppings’ approach is how they do it. Day after day, year after year, they drop their nuggets of propaganda until one day whatever it was they were promoting becomes common knowledge.

COVID-19 shows how unprepared the US is for waves of migrants arriving on our shores, says Ms. Dent.

From International Policy Digest (a publication based in Richmond, VA):

Preparing for the Impacts of Climate Migration

Rosemary Dent

As the impacts of climate change become more severe and widespread, the United States must prepare for the resulting surge of human migration. Climate scientists are currently predicting that both primary and secondary impacts of climate change will collectively produce 140–200 million climate refugees by 2050. This sharp increase, if mismanaged, would likely overwhelm refugee processing systems, flood points of entry to the United States and strain both society and the economy.

In order to protect the United States from these potential shocks, the government must begin to prepare the appropriate infrastructure, processes, and funding for integrating climate refugees into the population. As the coronavirus ravages the country, it is highlighting many of the systemic failures that occur when the government is not adequately prepared or pro-active.

In 1990, the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) recognized human migration as the biggest impact of climate change. The IPCC predicted that primary impacts like shoreline erosion, coastal flooding, and agricultural disruptions would create massive disruptions to the livelihoods of millions. The resulting secondary impacts relate to the effects on society globally; such as political unrest, food insecurity, and mass migrations. As four out of five refugees flee on foot to nations bordering their home country, most human migration is localized to areas affected by conflict. However, as climate change affects communities globally, the flows of refugees will no longer be concentrated to conflict zones and their surrounding nations, bringing the issue to U.S. borders. The sheer scale of migration that the IPCC is predicting renders any previous methods of dealing with refugees unsuitable for this impending crisis.

In terms of physical processing capacity, the United States is currently severely unprepared.

The author goes on to tell us why we are unprepared and it has to do with Trump, of course.

Here is a prime example of the ‘droppings’ they repeat with no evidence.  It is just true because they believe it to be true!

The benefits of accepting more migrants goes far beyond economics. Studies show that increasing immigration quotas improves both economic innovation and community resilience, proving that diversity and inclusion make the United States stronger.

In view of the abundant challenges ahead for the United States, as highlighted by the current pandemic, uniting communities and reinforcing the economy to maintain employment levels will be key to survival. As a global leader in developing methods for climate change adaptation, the United States must be prepared to take these first steps.

See my ‘Climate Refugees’ category.

While we are fixated on the Coronavirus mess, don’t forget that good ol’ Uncle Joe will be expanding the refugee admissions program if the Dems regain control of the White House.

See Biden’s refugee policy.

Biden: Immigrants are the future of America, get used to it! https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-immigrants-are-the-future-of-america-you-should-get-used-to-it

Although he didn’t jump on the ‘climate refugee’ bandwagon during the primary campaign as some other candidates did, you can be sure he will be open to it as one more excuse to expand the Democrat voter base with migrants, any migrants.

Emphasis below is mine:

Increase the number of refugees we welcome into the country. With more than 70 million displaced people in the world today, this is a moment that demands American leadership. Offering hope and safe haven to refugees is part of who we are as a country. As a senator, Joe Biden co-sponsored the legislation creating our refugee program, which Trump has steadily decimated. His Administration has reduced the refugee resettlement ceiling to its lowest levels in decades and slammed the door on thousands of individuals suffering persecution, many of whom face threats of violence or even death in their home countries. We cannot mobilize other countries to meet their humanitarian obligations if we are not ourselves upholding our cherished democratic values and firmly rejecting Trump’s nativist rhetoric and actions. Biden embraces the core values that have made us who we are and will prioritize restoring refugee admissions in line with our historic practice under both Democratic and Republican Administrations. He will set the annual global refugee admissions cap to 125,000, and seek to raise it over time commensurate with our responsibility, our values, and the unprecedented global need.

“Global need” like accommodating millions escaping changing weather patterns!

Why Do Reporters on the Left Support BIG MEAT Jobs for Immigrants?

The dark underbelly of the giant globalist meatpacking industry in the US is being exposed as large numbers of slaughterhouse workers are creating US hotspots for the spread of the Chinese virus.

Neil Munro writing at Breitbart takes a stab at finding out why the mainstream media, populated by Leftwing ideologues, have for years been on the side of the meat industry (I dubbed it BIG MEAT a number of years ago) as are the refugee resettlement contractors (six of nine are ‘religious’ charities)*** which have been acting as head hunters for globally owned corporations for decades. (See Bill Clinton brings refugee laborers to Iowa linked below.)

Wouldn’t you think the Lefties would be on the side of the struggling worker rather than acting like they are doing migrants and refugees a giant favor by admitting them to America and placing them in dreadful working conditions (now being exposed in the COVID crisis)?

There are many reasons they have turned a blind eye, but I think Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies provides one answer.

Here is Munro at Breitbart:

NYT Says Immigrants ‘Mourn’ Loss of Deadly, Low-Wage Meatpacking Jobs

Immigrants are “mourning” the loss of low-wage jobs in a Chinese-owned, crowded slaughterhouse run by Smithfield Foods in Sioux Falls, SD, according to an article in the New York Times.

Smithfield Foods, Inc., is a meat-processing company based in Smithfield, Virginia, in the United States, and a wholly-owned subsidiary of WH Group of China.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smithfield_Foods

The main character in the story is an immigrant from Sudan who has worked “11-hour days at Smithfield, six times a week for nearly seven years,” says the April 15 article:

[….]

The Chinese-owned hog disassembly plant has been shut down indefinitely after 600 workers caught the Chinese coronavirus while working alongside each other.

“Why would lefties be supporting this?” asked Mark Krikorian, the director of the Center for Immigration Studies. “The immigrants are working for low wages in terrible jobs!” The answer is that progressives prefer to pose as the defenders of migrants against claimed threats from ordinary Americans, he said, not from the real economic exploitation by employers.

[….]

The article ignores the American workers at the Sioux Falls mill and instead lauds migrants and refugees, most of whom are assigned jobs at the slaughterhouse by the government-funded refugee settlement groups that bring them into the United States as refugees.

[….]

Establishment journalists are now eager to downplay the painful impact of cheap migrant labor on Americans, Corcoran said. “The reporters are basically working for these globalist companies, for Brazil’s JBS [USA Holdings] and for China’s Smithfield Foods [in Sioux Falls]. They are carrying the water because they want more immigration. They are willing to overlook these workplace conditions, and that Americans would do these jobs if they paid enough — as they did at one time.”

Worshiping the god of diversity!

Who cares what the working conditions are when the Left is busy changing America by changing the people!

S**** the working conditions, we get diversity!

The reporters’ underlying message is that the migrants’ pain and labor are worth trading to get more diversity, said Krikorian. “These holier-than-thou-types [are] saying ‘We are doing such a good thing by letting them in the country, when it is, in fact, horrible work, but it is all so good in the end because we get diversity.’”

There is much more here.

If you bother to read the NYT story Munro dissects, although not explicitly stated, there is an underlying message that these poor migrants are slaving away to provide our hams and bacon in Trump’s mean America.

See my BIG MEAT archive by clicking here.  I had already been writing about meatpackers within the first year of writing RRW and their refugee labor appetites when I came across this news in 2008 about how Bill Clinton first came up with the idea of supplying his meatpacking buddies with Bosnian refugee laborers—in Iowa!

And, on the issue of health, maybe one day, it won’t be COVID we are talking about, but some of the other diseases we don’t screen for as migrants enter the US—I can dream!

*** For new readers these (below) are the nine federally-funded refugee contractors that operate as a huge conveyor belt monopolizing all refugee placement in America.  Some have received direct funding from meat giants.

And, they do not limit their advocacy toward only legal immigration programs, but are heavily involved in supporting the lawlessness at our borders.

The question isn’t as much about refugees per se, but about who is running federal immigration policy now and into the future?

I continue to argue that these nine contractors are the heart of America’s Open Borders movement and thus there can never be long-lasting reform of US immigration policy when these nine un-elected phony non-profits are paid by the taxpayers to work as community organizers pushing an open borders agenda.

If the EU Completely Implodes Blame COVID and Clinton!

Invasion of Europe news….

Ed Morrissey writing at Hot Air reports on how the COVID-19 hysteria could spell the end of the European Union as countries rediscover the need for BORDERS!

Trip down memory lane!

He also reminds us how the beginning of the end came when Hillary/Obama and various EU governments joined forces to bring down Gaddafi in Libya in 2011 which opened the flood gates for African migrants by the hundreds of thousands to descend on the continent.

Here is Hot Air:

European Leaders Lament: Coronavirus Might Just Kill The EU Too

If the European Union now finds itself in “mortal danger,” it’s only because it’s faced its first truly mortal threat. The Washington Post reports that European leaders have begun to warn that unilateral actions by its members — most recently Hungary but also core members France and Germany — will undo their decades-long experiment in continental unity. The raising of borders and the imposition of trade barriers in the coronavirus pandemic has all but sidelined Brussels in the crisis, and there’s little indication that EU members are interested in anything but their own domestic political standing.

[….]

In other words, Europe has rediscovered why borders matter and why government works best on the principle of subsidiarity. The borders lesson got taught the hard way, as I wrote two-plus weeks ago, after Europe and the US precipitated a massive refugee crisis by decapitating the Qaddafi regime in Libya. The flood of refugees from there and Syria created cultural dislocation throughout the Schengen Zone, provoking the Brexit push in the UK and setting the stage for their current disunity.

Remember this!  We wrote about Hillary’s role extensively at the time and over the years since as the invasion of Europe progressed. See here.

It should come as no shock that Germans expect the German government to prioritize Germans in an existential crisis rather than a super-national quasi-governing body. Nor should it shock anyone that the same is true for the French, the Italians, and so on. That doesn’t mean that they can’t work cooperatively to approach common interests and problems, but that in a crisis, they’re responsible to their own citizens first and foremost.

Much more here.

I have a huuuge invasion of Europe archive, here.

Refugees are Still Arriving in the US, What Happened to Supposed Suspension?

All data is from the Refugee Processing Center. I gave instructions on how to use the federal data base here: https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2020/01/19/knowledge-is-power-iv-how-to-find-out-who-is-being-resettled-and-where/

The numbers are lower, but they are still coming!

In mid March we reported that the UN’s International Organization for Migration had halted refugee travel due to the virus crisis, so imagine my surprise this morning when I checked the data for the last two weeks of March and learned we admitted 221 regular refugees and 373 Special Immigrant Visas from Afghanistan in those two weeks.

For the entire month of March we admitted 1,110 regular refugees and 844 SIVs mostly from Afghanistan that are treated just like refugees except some can choose where they want to live in the US.

So we can’t safely fly, but nearly 2,000 ‘refugees’  were being flown into the US during March.

The refugee admissions program is scheduled (so far) to resume this week after April 7th, but it never really stopped!

Here is where the 1,110 were placed in March:

Top ten ‘welcoming’ states are:  TX, OH, NY, IL, WA, KY, MA, CA, MO, and TN.

Now see this map (below) for where the 221 regular refugees were placed since the supposed suspension of travel.  They must have been transported across America on near empty flights.

The vast majority of the arrivals in the last two weeks are from the DR Congo (161).  See my post about how many we have now taken since Obama agreed to take tens of thousands of Congolese.  We are way past 50,000 but they are still coming!

More unemployed and more hungry mouths to feed as America suffers…..

Did Montana Dodge a Bullet? Might it be Italy Right Now?

I have written a great deal about Montana over the years. Go here for my Montana archive: https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/?s=Montana

The first thing I thought of when I read this post by an Italian man who describes how Italy is gone was whatever happened to that proposed Chinese meatpacking plant in Montana?

As described by author Giacomino Nicolazzo  the COVID disaster for Italy has its roots in the deals  between the Leftists running the Italian government and the Chinese who were furiously buying up one industry after another primarily in the Italian north.

A recipe for disaster?

Along with those purchases of major industries they were sending in Chinese workers, many from Wuhan, to help run their new acquisitions.  It is long, but well worth reading because it makes sense.

What Montana Chinese slaughterhouse you ask?

Senator Steve Daines

This one! I told you about it in 2017 when Montana ranchers and their US Republican Senator Steve Daines were cooking up a trade deal with China that would see the export of Montana beef to China.

But, someone figured it would be so much easier if the Chinese actually ran a meat packing facility right there in Montana.

Changing America one meatpacker at a time, now it’s Montana’s turn

Take the time to read what I said about the deal in 2017.

“It’s a really smart place for China to put in investment and to partner with Montana to have a really good packing industry and processing plant here.”

(Fred Wacker, rancher)

Here is one thing I said in that post:

I suppose there is one bright side–unlike Chobani Yogurt in nearby Idaho, I doubt the Chinese owners will approve of Muslim workers in light of their clear historical animosity to the ‘religion of peace.’  I can just see the mess when the Chinese company gets hit with some discrimination lawsuits when they say “NO” to Somali workers.

Heck, maybe they will insist on bringing in Chinese workers!

(Prescient wouldn’t you agree!)

So then what happened to the scheme?

I looked around today and the best answer I could find was that the deal began to fizzle when Trump’s trade war with China began.

Nevertheless in the summer of 2018, Montana cattlemen were still dreaming that they would see a giant Chinese meat plant in ‘Big Sky’ country.

From China Daily:

Montana hopes for beef deal with China’s JD.com despite Trump’s trade

HELENA, Montana – Montana officials are hoping that a blockbuster deal with Chinese retail giant JD.com to export local beef will be possible despite the US Government’s escalating trade war with China.

Jay Bodner https://mtbeef.org/dvteam/jay-bodner/

“We are still talking,” Jay Bodner, executive vice-president of the Montana Stockgrowers Association (MSA), said.

In an exclusive interview with Xinhua on Tuesday, Bodner said the win-win deal inked last November in Beijing is not dead in the water, despite a 25-percent tariff on $34 billion of imports from China imposed by the Trump administration last Friday.

Beijing’s expected response – an additional 25-percent import tax on top of an existing 12-percent hike – was hard for Montana to digest, especially in light of the pending JD.com deal.

“There is a pretty high level of concern,” Bodner, a rancher from eastern Montana who has been with the MSA for 16 years, said.

Comparing JD.com to America’s Amazon.com, he said the Chinese internet giant’s commitment to spend up to $100 million to build Montana’s largest meat processing facility was still on the table.

More here.

Silver lining…..

I guess we can safely say that any such deals like this one with China are dead in the wake of the plague exported from China to the world.

And, the importance of putting Americans first has never been so clear.
