Yafait Tadesse

The crime of identity theft has become so rampant in the Internet age that not even the top law enforcement official in the land is safe.
Federal prosecutors say 21-year-old Yafait Tadesse of Carrollton, Georgia, has been sentenced for using the identities of more than 10 people — including U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder — in an identity theft and tax fraud scheme.
He will get one year and one day in prison! How about deportation?
Authorities said Wednesday Tadesse was sentenced to a year and one day in prison in connection to the brazen plot. He was also ordered to pay more than $4,000 to the IRS in restitution.
Eyaso Abebe
According to prosecutors, Tadesse and his co-defendant, 20-year-old Eyaso Abebe, obtained names and Social Security numbers from a website that publishes information belonging to unsuspecting victims.
There is nothing to indicate that Mr Holder, who has served as Attorney General of the United States since 2009, was specifically targeted by the duo because of his position in the Obama administration.
Prosecutors said Tadesse and Abebe filed tax returns claiming that all their victims – including Attorney General Holder – worked at Walmart and had similar incomes.
The word over the last few days, apparently still unconfirmed, is that Turkey has closed its borders to Syrian refugees.

Our interest here at RRW is why is Turkey allowing Syrian Muslims to cross its other border into Bulgaria thus swamping that tiny poor European country with thousands they can’t possibly take care of and who are now causing social unrest there?

Yesterday several media organs reported that Turkey had closed its border to Syrians fleeing their country on account of the fact that the number of Syrians in Turkey would jump up to five million in a very short time.This information has not yet been corrected by AFAD or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, nor has it been denied.
If this is Turkey’s new policy it will have critical long-term ramifications for host communities, including Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq, and for Syrian civilians. Turkey is one of the biggest host countries for Syrians, and while the Turkish government estimates that a total of 700,000 Syrian refugees are in Turkey, local and international non-governmental actors who are managing the crisis on the ground have a more realistic estimate: 1.5 million.

Turkey deserves applause in receiving Syrian refugees fleeing the violence in their country and providing assistance for them, stated David Miliband, Britain’s former Foreign Secretary and president of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) during an interview in Washington.
Miliband attended a panel which was held to draw attention to the plight of the Syrian refugees on Thursday and spoke to Anadolu Agency (AA) correspondent in the aftermath of the panel.
Praising Turkey’s policy on the refugees, Miliband said he was in close cooperation with Turkish officials and attached importance to a very strong partnership with Turkey.
I had to laugh and wondered if the IRC was getting ready to award a prize to Erdoğan like they did Hamid Karzai—to “embrace political Islamism” as David Miliband would say. The IRC and Miliband recently saidthey would like the US to take 12,000 Syrians this year.

The interview that NewsHoundsreported on herelast Wednesday happened earlier in February. Carlson was interviewing Michael Cutler on the issue of asylum fraud and the Obama Administration’s relaxation of security screening for refugees and asylum seekers.
I had never heard of NewsHounds —we watch Fox News so you don’t have to––a Leftwing blog originally launched with the help of Moveon.org. They assure us that they are not funded by George Soros here.

The Statue of Liberty is considered a beacon of freedom whose message to the world is to “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” But Emma Lazarus’s eloquent phrases mean nothing to scion of white privilege, Tucker Carlson, who is aghast that his country would welcome those whose lives have been torn asunder by political upheavals and other circumstances which necessitate their seeking asylum here. Earlier this month (February 8th), Tucker Carlson hosted an anti-immigration spokesperson for a biased discussion of how changes in asylum rules are threatening our freedom. In railing against asylum policies, Tucker Carlson, showed us, once again, why he is such a total dick!
Can you believe it, Carlson said the US government’s job is to protect American citizens (gasp!). And, Carlson asked the unforgivable question,why is it our moral obligation to take all these refugees?

This newest right wing fear factor was part and parcel of Carlson’s interview with Michael Cutler who writes for a white nationalist publication and is a fellow with the CaliforniaCenter for Population Stabilization, a hate group which is funded by the white supremacist Pioneer Fund.
Carlson described the new policy, in fair & balanced terms. Just kidding he referred to it as “ripping the immigration door off of its hinges.” In introducing his guest, a former ICE agent, Carlson said he “could hardly believe” the policy is “real.” Cutler claimed that these people, coming from countries with terrorism, won’t be sufficiently vetted and cited an example of past asylum seekers who were engaged in crime. The chyron framed the Fox propaganda: “Asylum Outrage.” He continued to discuss the “national security” implications of this policy which will “put Americans at risk.”
Carslon said “the whole thing is crazy” and asserted that “the US government has only one job and that’s to look out for the welfare of American citizens.” He asked
“why is letting in refugees, or people who claim they are, I mean the refugees, you know half the world has refugee status, India, why do I have a moral obligation to do that as an American, I’m totally confused by this.”
Carlson then made one more assertion that drives them wild—if we let them all in they will all become Democratic voters.
“it’s more than compassion, these people will become voters, many of them will become voters, trust me, they’re part of the Obama coalition and the enemy, they will be Democratic voters, the numbers show it, the Obama coalition and the enemy.”
And, in case you missed it in the opening, Carlson is a “total dick!” (Sorry, but am just quoting Priscilla)
So according to Tucker Carlson, refugees from war torn countries should not be allowed into the country because it’s not his moral obligation and because they might vote Democratic. One thing is for sure, that kind of “Christian” attitude won’t be growing the GOP anytime soon. The America of Fox News is not the America represented on Lady Liberty. At least that’s what Tucker Carlson thinks! What a total dick!

One of many myths that the open borders crowd is trying to peddle is the notion that large numbers of poor persecuted asylum seekers are being locked up in American jails for years waiting for a court date for their asylum case. Not true!
Just a reminder, there are two categories of “refugees.” The term “refugee” is usually reserved for those largely designated by the UN around the world as in need of third country resettlement. In other words, they have left their own country looking for refuge and the UN then determines they need to be sent to a Western country (or Australia/New Zealand). The lions’ share of resettled refugees goes to the US.
Then there are the asylum seekers who get into the US on their own steam, either by overstaying a visa (tourist, foreign student etc.), or they come across a border by land, by sea, or by air and ask for asylum (usually after first being apprehended). They are still illegal aliens! If granted asylum, they become “refugees” for the purpose of getting taken care of through taxpayer funding, just like the refugees picked by the UN/US State Department. Of course, as we know, a few states—-Maine for one—-give asylum seekers financial support even before they have been granted asylum/refugee status.
And, don’t forget we just learned that 70% or more of those granted asylum may be frauds!
The immigration lawyers, like those at the ACLU, are working overtime to make you think that large numbers of these asylum seekers are rotting away in American jails, but earlier this week, in one more story about Obama relaxing security screening for refugees and asylum seekers, comes this important bit of news!
Lawmakers, though, specifically cited a newly uncovered Immigration and Customs Enforcement document that showed thousands of asylum seekers were released while awaiting a decision. The document, obtained and reviewed by FoxNews.com, showed that in fiscal 2012, just 2,508 of the more than 24,000 asylum seekers were kept in custody.

The ICE document showed that a total of 22,000 were released that year, though a few thousand were actually deported and a small percentage had their asylum requests granted. But thousands more were released on bond, released under supervision, or released under some other status. The document also indicates that officials may have lost track of some asylum seekers. Several hundred individuals are listed in a category that includes people who escaped.
Remember this number—20,000 and increasing each year are illegal aliens seeking asylum and are free to wander America and maybe show up for a court date.

The case against a middle-aged English-speaking “pirate” ended and now the question becomes, can Ali Mohamed Ali get asylum in the US thus setting up the problematic scenario that the Guantanamo Bay prisoners have also posed for out legal system. Try them in the US and if they aren’t convicted, then what?
The failed prosecution of an alleged Somali pirate — and the fact that that failure could leave him living freely, and permanently, inside U.S. borders — is highlighting anew the risks of trying terror suspects in American courts.
Just a few weeks ago, Ali Mohamed Ali was facing the possibility of a mandatory life sentence in a 2008 shipjacking off the coast of Yemen — an incident much like the one dramatized in the film “Captain Phillips.” Now, the Somali native is in immigration detention in Virginia and seeking permanent asylum in the United States.
Ali, who was accused of piracy for acting as a translator and negotiator for a crew of pirates, was partially acquitted by a jury in November after a trial in Washington. Prosecutors initially vowed a retrial but decided last month to drop the rest of the case against him.
That’s just the kind of situation that opponents of U.S. criminal trials for Al Qaeda suspects caught abroad have long feared: The government falls short at trial — and the courts eventually order an accused terror figure freed to live legally among Americans.
“It’s a trial, not a play. You don’t know how it’s going to end,” said Cully Stimson, a former military prosecutor and defense official now at The Heritage Foundation. “Justice has all sorts of twists and turns. … It really has to be thought through at the highest level of government before we take action to bring someone here.”
One current federal terrorism prosecutor said the Ali case and the potential for his eventual release is another reason why foreign Al Qaeda suspects picked up overseas should not be brought to the United States but should instead be detained at Guantánamo or some other facility.
“It’s a significant risk … to say, ‘Oh well, we’ll just turn him over to the immigration service’” if a criminal case falls apart, said the prosecutor, who asked not to be named because he was not authorized to speak publicly. “You can’t count on the justice system working out just the way you want it to.”
Even some proponents of closing Guantánamo and relying on American civilian courts to prosecute alleged terrorists agree that the collapse of the Ali case highlights the potential downside of bringing suspected terrorists to the United States for trial.

Ali had a good claim that he was a hostage negotiator, an official in Somalia, and seems to have been an unlikely pirate! No, not getting soft on Somalis! The Ali case went off the rails for the government in the face of his claims that he was solely trying to resolve the hijacking of the M/V CEC Future — an event in which 13 crew members were held hostage for 71 days. While prosecutors contended Ali was “every bit as responsible” as those who carried weapons, the middle-aged English speaker, who had spent more than two decades in the United States, may not have seemed like an eye-patch-wearing or AK-47-toting type. [What he was doing in the US for 20 years (refugee?) and not becoming a citizen is a question I would like answered.—ed]
By the time of his arrest in 2011, Ali was serving as education minister for an autonomous area in Somalia. Officials lured him back to the United States by inviting him to attend an education conference. He was arrested when he landed at Dulles International Airport.
