Brits to teach immigrants how to queue!

Just now I was going to tell you about the “squatter’s rights” that illegal immigrants have in the UK —if they hang out in Britain for 14 years illegally they can then apply to stay!  Here it is at Counter Jihad blog (it is a story from the Telegraph).   However a story posted in the sidebar at the Telegraph entitled, ‘Immigrants to be taught how to queue,’  attracted my attention instead.

Foreigners applying to settle in the UK will have to learn about the revered British practice of forming an orderly line for everything from buses to sandwiches.

While the idea may sound like a joke, ministers insist they are entirely serious and want to indoctrinate migrants more effectively into the British way of life.

They claim a lot of tension in communities is caused by immigrants not understanding that they must wait in line for services rather than barging to the front.

This is not their fault, ministers say, but happens because in less-wealthy countries the only way to get access to necessities is to push yourself forward.

But to elderly people waiting in bus queues, for example, such behaviour can be off-putting and frightening.

Phil Woolas, the immigration minister, confirmed that he was pushing the idea as part of moves to ensure immigrants integrate properly.

He said: “The simple act of taking one’s turn is one of the things that holds our country together. It is very important that newcomers take their place in queues whether it is for a bus or a cup of tea.

“It is central to the British sense of fair play and it is also better for everyone. Huge resentment is caused when people push in. [No kidding!  It is one of the complaints I hear all the time with especially Muslim refugees–ed]

British citizenship tests include questions about such things!  I doubt we have anything like this in the US.

Since 2005, foreign nationals applying for UK citizenship – which confers the right to a British passport – have been required to sit a written test at one of 90 centres across the country before taking part in a formal citizenship ceremony.

The 45-minute tests, introduced by David Blunkett, the then-home secretary, include questions on various aspects of the British way of life from politics to pop music.

The answers are all to be found in a 150-page book, Life in the UK, which applicants must study before sitting the exam. Topics covered veer from complicated matters of government procedure and welfare entitlement to the apparently banal.

The book already addresses the thorny question of what you should do if you spill someone’s pint in the pub, with the correct response being to buy them another one.

But, of course for the hundreds of thousands of illegals hiding out in the UK for the 14 years before they seek “squatters rights” whether they stand in line or buy a new pint for one spilled in the bar matters not.  They will have had 14 years to irritate the Brits.

CIS: More immigrants means more Democratic voters

No surprise here.  The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) released a report today that examines voting trends in counties with varying levels of immigrant populations and concludes the following:

This Backgrounder examines the political implications of large-scale immigration. Between 1980 and 2008, 25.2 million people were granted permanent residency (green cards) by the United States. A comparison of voting patterns in presidential elections across counties over the last three decades shows that large-scale immigration has caused a steady drop in presidential Republican vote shares throughout the country. Once politically marginal counties are now safely Democratic due to the propensity of immigrants, especially Latinos, to identify and vote Democratic. The partisan impact of immigration is relatively uniform throughout the country, even though local Republican parties have taken different positions on illegal immigration. Although high immigration may work against Democratic policy goals, such as raising wages for the poor and protecting the environment, it does improve Democratic electoral prospects. In contrast, immigration may help Republican business interests hold down wages, but it also undermines the party’s political fortunes. Future levels of immigration are likely to be a key determinant of Republicans’ political prospects moving forward.

I see this as just more confirmation of a theory I’ve promoted on these pages about why the supposed do-gooder organizations resettling refugees seem so uncaring and cavaleer about the quality of life they provide new refugees (something we have reported ad nauseum at RRW).   The refugees and immigrants are just pawns in a ruthless political power game by the Far Left to make the newcomers dependent on government and then vote Democratic.  

LOL!  In fact, if every immigrant arriving in the US said they would vote Republican from now on, it would be the Democrats screaming bloody murder to stop the multiculturalism is beautiful mantra!

Of course, many Conservatives and Tea Party activists are mystified why supposed Republican leaders can be advocates of Open Borders—seems like a death wish to me!

Partners Against Hate is a federal initiative

Recently I told you about the Center for the Prevention of Hate Violence from Portland, ME  and how it was going to be traveling to four cities to help get citizens’ minds right about the huge immigrant populations in their midst.  The four cities are Boise, ID, Ft. Wayne, IN, Manchester, NH and Frederick, MD.   

They plan to bring the supposed success story of Lewiston, ME to each city and say, ‘you see, this city can get along with its mostly Somali immigrants, so why can’t you get along with your immigrants?’

I wanted to know who was funding this project to obviously play the race card and badger cities.

Since Frederick, MD is nearby and since so far Frederick has not had a big refugee problem (that we know of!), I wondered why they targeted Frederick.  I do think it’s all part of the plan to kill the 287g program which allows the local sheriff to participate in the deportation of illegal aliens arrested there.  Frederick is the only county in Maryland to undertake that program and open borders advocates want to kill it in Frederick before it catches on in other Maryland counties.

So, if these so-called non-profits like the Far Left Center for the Prevention of Hate Violence wants to run around the country telling other cities how to stop being so hateful (and by the way, Portland, ME has a big immigrant against immigrant crime problem) and they do it with private money, well, this is a free country and they are free to do so.  

To be very clear, the initiative is not aimed at keeping hate violence under control between ethnic immigrant groups!   As a matter of fact, I might not be so suspicious of their agenda if they announced they were going to sort out the ethnic tension going on in places like Grand Island, NE where the Somalis have pitted themselves against other immigrant groups in that city.

Here is the kicker!

According to the Partners Against Hate website  (and here) a friend sent me yesterday, the whole political initiative is coming from the US Justice Department.   The Center for the Prevention of Hate Violence obviously has a federal grant or contract funded by you—the taxpayer—to promote the message that the four cities chosen are racist and hateful places.

And, by the way, there isn’t even a Form 990 for the Partners Against Hate, but it appears they receive money from a quasi-government agency the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights Education Fund (Form 990, here).

No wonder our country is broke!  The average citizen or Tea Party activist has no clue how much of their money is laundered through myriad supposed non-profits that are  nothing more than tentacles of big government promoting a Far Left agenda!

P.S.  When they arrive in Frederick to hold public meetings, I plan to be in attendance with the whole truth about Lewiston, ME.  Anyone, in those three other cities who is interested, contact me, Ann@vigilantfreedom.com and we can coordinate making sure the citizens of Boise, Ft. Center for Immigration Studies Report: H-2B visa holders take American jobs and refugee jobs

Well, they don’t specifically say “refugee” jobs, but they do report that other legal immigrants are getting booted out of traditional so-called “dirty work” jobs by the millions of H-2B visa holders admitted to the US each year.   Check out this new report released today by CIS.

Americans don’t want to mow your lawn. They don’t want to serve you your lobster roll sandwich during your summer holiday in Maine. They won’t drive the trucks that bring food to the grocery store you shop in, or chop down the trees that produce the paper you use, or perform at the circus you attend every summer. You’ll also need the helping hand of a “temporary, seasonal” guestworker to help you get on the chair lift in Vail, and to learn how to ski or snowboard. Nor will Americans guard your swim club’s pool, shovel the snow in your driveway, operate the rides at the amusement park you take your kids to, tidy up the hotel room you sleep in, or process the seafood you eat. Americans can’t even be counted on to coach sports, or work construction jobs. American workers have grown soft, young people don’t want to work, and the unemployed don’t want to do much of anything strenuous these days.

These are the kind of flawed assumptions that have led to the creation and rapid growth of the H-2B visa program, which has resulted in more half a million jobs being filled by foreign guestworkers over the last five years, rather than Americans and immigrants already in the United States.

The goal of this report is to shed light on the poor conditions that H-2B guestworkers often toil in; to expose the damage that this program does to the most vulnerable sector of American workers: the poorly educated, students, minorities, and legal immigrants; to examine the recruiters who find workers and the employers who hire them; and to scrutinize the government’s role in sanctioning and managing the H-2B bureaucracy.

Read the whole report.  Considering that estimates of the unemployed refugee population in the US are about 50% unemployed, shouldn’t advocates of refugee resettlement be causing a ruckus over this information?

NumbersUSA: Half of immigrant families in US on welfare

Wanting to be sure that all those Tea Party activists understand that immigration is a fiscal issue as well, NumbersUSA has begun a petition campaign to urge the government to reduce all immigration.  Here is the appeal from Roy Beck:

For those of you whose primary political interest is stopping the growth of government or even shrinking it, you have to contend with national leaders who say they agree with you but who refuse to deal with immigration. They say immigration is a “social” issue that isn’t related to government spending and deficit issues. They couldn’t be more wrong. . . .

Let’s start with this tidbit from government data provided by the Center for Immigration Studies (Table 13: “Immigrant Households with Children Under 18”):

Roughly ONE-HALF of all immigrant households with kids are accessing the welfare system, especially food and Medicaid welfare.

In this case, “immigrant” includes both authorized and illegal foreign citizens allowed by the federal government to settle in our country. Since 2000, that number each year has averaged around 1.3 million a year — plus another 1 million births to those immigrant households.

With one-half of those households being poor enough to use the federal, state and local welfare systems, is there anybody blind enough to think that adding 2.3 million people a year to immigrant households is not driving huge increases in government?

Cloward and Piven

For new readers, we have written ad nauseum about the Cloward-Piven strategy to bring down our form of government by overwhelming the welfare system.  To better understand that strategy use our search function for ‘Cloward-Piven’ or at minimum read this post.

Cloward has gone to his maker, but Frances Fox Piven is still kicking and stirring rebellion.  Here she is this week at Big Government advising people whose homes have been foreclosed to join in civil disobedience by refusing to move or to break back into their homes.  There is no doubt in my mind that the housing crisis was brought on using this same strategy—overwhelm the system until it crashes.  And, that is what is happening with welfare as well!  The immigrants are just a means to an end for these despicable people.
