Catholic Church, labor unions and Open Borders groups organizing March for America

Update March 22nd:  SEIU thugs run the show—shame on organizers, here.

Update March 20th:  Far Left who’s who list for march organizers tomorrow, here.

Update March 19th:  Confirmed! It is a twofer—demonstrators are participating in the radical anti-war march Saturday and the open-borders march Sunday, here.

Update March 11th:  What a coincidence, another of the federal contractors, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, will be in DC for the marches too (here)!

And, can you believe it!  The US Conference of Catholic Bishops which got over $40 million in your tax dollars last year is bringing its gang to Washington the whole weekend beginning March 19th as well (here)!  All those folks will be around to march with the Marxists and Muslims on the 20th.  How convenient is that!

Update:  Another of the refugee contractors, Church World Service will be joining the parade, here.   They say they will be lobbying too.  I sure hope they aren’t using any taxpayer money or government supplied office space for their lobbying project.

Later this month there will be two Far Left rallies in Washington, DC.  The first on March 20th is being organized by the experienced protesters at International ANSWER (Communists, Muslim groups, labor unions and immigrant groups).  The very next day March 21st will be the open borders March for America.   What do you think?  Have we got a twofer here?  Do you think any mainstream media outlet will make a connection when it’s the same cast of characters both days, Nah!

Some enterprising Tea Partier ought to go to DC both days with a camera and I’ll bet you a buck, the same people in the same goofy costumes and carrying the same signs are marching both days, but the numbers will be counted separately!

From New America Media:

Amidst lofty rhetoric and ambitious logistics, immigration reform activists are planning a mass demonstration next month at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

The major forces behind the “March for America” are labor groups, immigrant advocacy organizations, and the Catholic Church.

[The Catholic Church!  I wonder do all the conservative Catholics know the Catholic Church is an organizer?-ed]

The march will be a test of immigrant advocates’ organizing capacity and their increasing use of technology to stoke a popular groundswell on immigration.

In a recent Spanish-language op-ed penned for America’s Voice the organization’s Hispanic media outreach director Rafael Prieto Zartha traced a kind of family tree for the origins of the planned march. These include the farm workers’ movement, the mass immigration demonstrations of 2006, and the world’s most famous civil rights speech, also delivered at the National Mall.

[….]

The “March for America” sponsors all agree on a path to earned citizenship for the country’s 11 million undocumented immigrants, speedier family reunification, humane enforcement and workplace protections.

The March 21 action aims to pressure Capitol Hill and the White House, which have shown an unwillingness to take on immigration legislation.

Obama probably put out the word that he needed some “grassroots” cover to get ready for a new Amnesty push, here.

A final thought:  The US Conference of Catholic Bishops is probably the largest of the federal refugee resettlement contractors responsible for finding work for thousands of legal refugees every year, so how can they justify promoting the legalization of 11 million people who have come here by breaking the law and who are in direct competition (and will be even more so if they become legal overnight) with refugees who are presently not finding work, and are desperate to do so.  I don’t get it.

Senators Schumer and Graham visit White House for chat on reviving Amnesty legislation

But where is the other RINO McCain?   Oh geez, here we go again.  Obama and the Democrats are being destroyed over Healthcare reform and he is making noises about pushing Comprehensive Immigration Reform (aka Amnesty) this year?  Honestly, I don’t get his ‘death-wish’ political strategy.

Hot off Drudge this morning is this from the LA Times:

Reporting from Washington – Despite steep odds, the White House has discussed prospects for reviving a major overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws, a commitment that President Obama has postponed once already.

Obama took up the issue privately with his staff Monday in a bid to advance a bill through Congress before lawmakers become too distracted by approaching midterm elections.

In the session, Obama and members of his Domestic Policy Council outlined ways to resuscitate the effort in a White House meeting with two senators — Democrat Charles E. Schumer of New York and Republican Lindsey Graham of South Carolina — who have spent months trying to craft a bill.

According to a person familiar with the meeting, the White House may ask Schumer and Graham to at least produce a blueprint that could be turned into legislative language.

The basis of a bill would include a path toward citizenship for the 10.8 million people living in the U.S. illegally. Citizenship would not be granted lightly, the White House said. Undocumented workers would need to register, pay taxes and pay a penalty for violating the law. Failure to comply might [might?-ed] result in deportation.

Then the following line reminded me that I wanted to post on this demonstration the other day and didn’t.  I will shortly.  What is so stunning to me about this planned DC rally for open borders is that it is being organized by the Catholic Church (among others) and follows by one day the Communist/Muslim anti-war demonstration.  Are they just going to recycle the protestors from one day to the next?  You betcha!

Participants in the White House gathering also pointed to an immigration rally set for March 21 in Washington as a way to spotlight the issue and build needed momentum.

About Geert Wilders victory in the Netherlands yesterday

Likely the only politician in the world with the guts to say that Muslim immigration to a western country—this time the Netherlands—should be halted is Geert Wilders.  Yesterday elections in Holland sent a message to the Far Left and their Muslim Supremacist friends that times may soon be changing!

From the UK Guardian:

The Dutch far-right, anti-immigrant politician Geert Wilders has won major gains in local elections in the Netherlands, with preliminary results today indicating he may dominate the political scene in the run-up to the general election in three months.

Yesterday’s poll, 10 days after the centrist coalition government collapsed, was seen as a gauge of the public mood ahead of the national elections on 9 June.

Wilders last night claimed a massive victory, predicting: “We are going to conquer the entire country … We are going to be the biggest party in the country.

“The leftist elite still believes in multiculturalism, coddling criminals, a European super-state and high taxes,” Wilders told cheering supporters at a rally in Almere. “But the rest of the Netherlands thinks differently. That silent majority now has a voice,” he said.

[….]

Wilders, who likens the Qur’an to Hitler’s Mein Kampf and wants Muslim immigrants deported, is bidding to win the general election in June, with the latest opinion polls predicting he might take 27 of the 150 seats in the Netherlands’ highly fragmented political scene.

That would make it tough for the Christian Democrats, projected to win one seat less, to forge a strong coalition without Wilders.

I was too tired to post on this story last night, and I see this morning that it is all over the news.  Here are some references to analysis of what it all means at Blue Ridge Forum.

Judy and I have written on several occasions about Wilders’ courageous campaign for free speech and against radical Islamic ideology and were fortunate to hear him speak at CPAC in 2009 (albeit the event was not sanctioned by the Washington DC insider Republicans that Michelle Malkin says are missing a key part of their anatomy, link in that same Blue Ridge Forum post!).

Debbie Schlussel obtained the affidavit in the Somali illegal alien case

This is a further update on the case of the 270 Somali illegal aliens who have come into the US across the Mexican border (the 270 we know of!). Hat tip:  Janet   See the affidavit and Schlussel’s commentary here.   Schlussel makes these important points in her introduction to the post:

Anthony Joseph Tracy a/k/a Yusuf Tracy a/k/a Yusuf Noor (strangely none of the press reports use his Muslim names–why?) sold out America, after converting to Islam in prison in the 1990s. Then, he went to Somalia, made contact with Harakat Al-Shabaab Mujahideen a/k/a Al-Shabaab, the Somalian chapter of Al Qaeda, and helped the group smuggle in 270 Somali Muslims–likely all Islamic terrorists–into America. And I’m sure he isn’t the only one doing this. Just the only we’ve caught.

Once again I will remind new readers that the US State Department is beefing up the Somali refugee numbers for this fiscal year.  6000 who could not get along with other camp inhabitants are on the way from Uganda and inside sources indicate that as many as a total of 13,000 Somalis are in the pipeline from around the world.  We even bring illegal alien Somalis that arrive in Malta to the US (Update:  I see more are on the way from Malta just today, here)

If you work with Somalis or have any interaction with them and learn of some mysterious new arrival(s) (the 270 possible al-Shabaab jihadists have surely melted into cities with large Somali populations*), you must contact authorities.

*Of course the top of the list is Minneapolis.  But, other cities with large Somali populations include:  Seattle, WA, San Diego, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Lewiston and Portland, ME, Boston, MA, Columbus, OH, Rochester, MN, Atlanta, GA, Nashville, TN, Greeley and Ft. Morgan, CO, Grand Island, NE, and Kansas City, MO (those are just the ones off the top of my head!).

For new readers:

For information on Somali missing youths, American citizens who have gone to Somalia to learn the Jihad trade, some leaving through Mexico, use those search words.  We have written dozens of stories on the case.  For more on Al-shabaab (sometimes spelled Al-shabab) also use our search function.

The US State Department has admitted over 80,000 Somali refugees to the US (this linked post continues to be one of the most widely read posts we have ever written) in the last 25 years and then in 2008 had to suspend family reunification because widespread immigration fraud was revealed through DNA testing.  That specific program has not yet been reopened (that we know of), but will be soon.

Nevertheless, thousands of Somali Muslims continue to be resettled as I write this. We recently learned that we will be taking 6000 Somalis this year from one camp in Uganda and as many as 11,000-13,000 total from around the world.

Zogby survey: minority (likely) voters say immigration levels too high

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) has an interesting report today on a recent Zogby survey on immigration.  It seems that the majority of minority likely voters think enforcement of immigration laws is important in curtailing illegal immigration and a majority believe immigration numbers across the board are too high.  CIS points out that that is in direct opposition to positions taken by the leadership of immigration advocacy groups.

While it is sometimes assumed that minorities, particularly Hispanics, favor increased immigration and legalization for illegal immigrants, a new Zogby survey finds that minority voters’ views are more complex. The poll of Hispanic, Asian-American, and African-American likely voters finds some support for legalization. But overall each of these groups prefers enforcement and for illegal immigrants to return home. Moreover, significant majorities of all three groups think that the current level of immigration is too high. These views are in sharp contrast to the leaders of most ethnic advocacy organizations, who argue for increased immigration and legalization of illegal immigrants. The survey used neutral language, avoiding such terms as “amnesty,” “illegal alien,” or “undocumented.”

Read CIS’s whole analysis.

I know why the leaders of advocacy groups are pushing for more immigration.  The answer is twofold.  Advocacy groups such as Church World Service, US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, International Rescue Committee, Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, World Relief, US Conference of Catholic Bishops and the rest of the gang make their living off immigrants, plain and simple.

Then you have the other reason:  most of the leadership (I am not referring to decent employees and volunteers) of the above named groups and groups like LaRaza and the Southern Poverty Law Center  are not interested in the human aspect of immigration (although they hide under their faux humanitarian white hat), they are working to change America by creating a socialist form of government.  They need masses of immigrants to be dependent on government and thus in order to keep the taxpayer goodies flowing they expect immigrants to vote on the far left.   The leaders (inside and outside of government) are also in cahoots with people like George Soros and the one-worlders, but that’s too much to get into here.

So, although it’s very interesting and useful to see statistics like those Zogby has collected, until we are brave enough to stop dancing around the subject and speak the truth about the agenda of the immigration advocates and speak it loudly, not much will change.
