Federal Judge Blocks Trump Administration Effort to Reform Refugee Program

According to U.S. District Judge Peter Messitte you, the citizens of Anytown, USA, can never stop the federal government (the US State Department) from depositing third world poverty into your neighborhoods.

And, so much for the Tenth Amendment and States Rights!

The Judge’s decision was not unexpected after we saw the anti-Trump bias the Clinton-appointed Judge displayed when we reported on the case last week.

Mark Hetfield, HIAS CEO, says you and the President are “unkind and un-American” if you want to have a say in how your tax dollars are spent and how your towns will be changed. https://www.hias.org/news/press-releases/judge-blocks-order-allowing-state-local-officials-veto-resettlement

Needless to say the contractors are sighing in relief  because they can continue to decide if your community will be hosting Africans, Asians and Middle Easterners later this year in a secret process that involves their collaboration with ideological deep staters in Washington, DC.

And, they get paid handsomely by you while they change America by changing the people.

Here is a report from Fox News about the decision:

Federal judge blocks Trump order allowing states, local officials to refuse refugees

I’ll have to wait until some legal minds explain what this all means and I’ll update this post when I learn more.

However, it is an outrage that nine fake non-profits (all Leftwing political agitators)*** will continue to be paid by us, the taxpayers, while they protest, organize, lobby and file lawsuits against those of us who pay their salaries!

But, let me tell you what good the exercise of recent months has accomplished.

~ We now have a very clear idea of the Republican governors who are pandering to Leftwing activists in their states—see the 19 here:

Only TX Governor Abbott had the guts to join the President and say NO, Texas needs a break! Six others remained silent.

~Additionally, many of you now know which of your city and county elected officials are promoting an Open Borders agenda or kowtowing to the Chamber of Commerce and big businesses looking for cheap, subservient labor.  Time to get involved locally and find replacements for them!

~We have also educated a whole lot of new people to the failings of the US Refugee Resettlement process and so it has not been a complete loss!

So what do you do now?

You get to work to re-elect Donald Trump so that he can finish the work he began.  Just remind yourselves of what Uncle Joe wants to do if elected.  The other Dems are many times worse.

As for me, I’m back to where I have been for a decade—the Refugee Act of 1980, that set up a contractor gravy train, must be repealed. Wishful thinking?  Maybe, but tinkering around the edges isn’t going to fix it.

Unless the Kennedy/Biden/Carter Refugee Act is repealed or reformed while Trump is in the White House, you can be absolutely sure that the number of refugees admitted to America in 2021 or 2025 will number in the hundreds of thousands as they claim they must make up for the Trump lost years.

The President would be within the law to set the incoming level at ZERO and tell Congress if they want refugees, then fix the law!   It is time!

Human Rights Watch: [T]here’s no requirement that the U.S. resettle a single refugee, and there’s no legal obligation to do it.”

*** For new readers these (below) are the nine federally-funded refugee contractors that operate as a huge conveyor belt monopolizing all refugee placement in America.

A ‘religious’ message from CWS’s “ministry!” CWS is one of three federally funded contractors suing to stop the President’s effort to reform the UN-driven Refugee Admissions Program.

And, they do not limit their advocacy toward only legal immigration programs, but are heavily involved in supporting the lawlessness at our borders.

The question isn’t as much about refugees per se, but about who is running federal immigration policy now and into the future?

Go here to see that the nine contractors sucked down over $3 BILLION in federal grants in the last 11 years.

(I plan to say this once a day from now on!)

I continue to argue that these nine contractors are the heart of America’s Open Borders movement and thus there can never be long-lasting reform of US immigration policy when these nine un-elected phony non-profits are paid by the taxpayers to work as community organizers pushing an open borders agenda.

Federal Judge Gives Warm Reception to Refugee Contractors and their Bid to Stop Trump Refugee Reform

LOL! Don’t miss “notable rulings” by Clinton-appointed Judge Peter Jo Messitte at wikipedia. He banned use of words “Redskins” from his court in 2014. I think you can see how the POLITICAL winds are blowing! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Jo_Messitte

Of course I wasn’t there and you can never completely believe the media spin by major news outlets like the Associated Press, but past experience informs us that, yes, the federal judge hearing the refugee contractors’ case is sympathetic to the three federal refugee contractors and not the Trump Administration.

In fact, he asked the contractors’ attorney if this was a political move by the President.

Did he ask the complainers if they were operating with political motives?  I bet not!

Why isn’t he simply looking at the LAW?

(By the way, be sure to see Michelle Malkin’s excellent piece on the President vs. the contractors yesterday to see the long list of the Open Borders activists expected to be in attendance for the political press conference the contractors held after the hearing.)

Here is the AP story about the case I told you about on Tuesday:

Judge weighs bid to stop Trump’s refugee resettlement limit

But of course this isn’t political for the contractors (ha!) as they held a press conference outside the court house after the hearing. Looks like they had a small crowd.

GREENBELT, Md. — A federal judge on Wednesday pressed a government lawyer to explain why President Donald Trump signed an executive order allowing state and local governments to reject refugees, questioning whether the change was politically motivated.

U.S. District Judge Peter Messitte in Maryland didn’t immediately rule on a request by three national refugee resettlement agencies for a preliminary injunction stopping the Trump administration from enforcing the order.

During a hearing on the request, the judge said the president’s order essentially changed a federal law governing the resettlement of refugees.

“On what authority is the president acting?” Messitte asked Justice Department attorney Bradley Humphreys.

Humphreys said the 1980 Refugee Act gives the president “ample authority” to make such a change.

“Why change it now?” Messitte asked. “Is it purely a political thing?”

Humphreys said the executive order is designed to enhance the involvement of state and local officials in the process of resettling refugees. But he insisted it doesn’t give them a “veto” over resettlement decisions.

The Trump administration announced in November that resettlement agencies must get written consent from state and local officials in any jurisdiction where they want to help resettle refugees beyond June 2020.

[….]

And, the contractors are not political? Here Mark Hetfield, CEO of HIAS, helped organize an anti-Trump rally along with then MN Rep. Keith Ellison less than a month after the President was inaugurated in 2017. Did the Judge ask HIAS about any political motivations? https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2017/02/14/breitbart-federally-funded-refugee-resettlement-contractor-hias-organized-ny-rally-against-trump/“

Church World Service, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service and HIAS — a Jewish nonprofit — filed the lawsuit in Greenbelt, Maryland, on Nov. 21. They are three of the nine national organizations*** agencies that have agreements with the federal government to provide housing and other services for refugees. [Notice AP won’t say that there is federal money involved for the contractors.—ed]

They have been providing these resettlement services for decades,” plaintiffs’ attorney Justin Cox said. [Makes it sound like it’s all being done with their private ‘religious’ charity.—ed]

At least 41 states have publicly agreed to accept refugees, but a governor’s decision doesn’t preclude local officials from refusing to give their consent.

For instance, the Democratic mayor of Springfield, Massachusetts, has refused to give written consent for refugees to be resettled in the city. [This especially grates on Hetfield because the subcontractor being shut out in Springfield is one of HIAS’s subcontractors.—ed]

HIAS President Mark Hetfield called it “unacceptable and un-American” that refugees could be banned from living in cities or even entire states. He said the executive order doesn’t explain how the secretary of state could override a governor or county official’s refusal to give consent.

“It’s even worse than a veto,” Hetfield said. “It’s very clear that we can’t even submit for a place unless we think that they’re going to consent.”

LOL! He says they can’t “submit for a place!”

That is code for ‘we can’t put our applications into the US State Department for our MONEY’—the money that flowed to them by the millions for decades from your (taxpayer) wallets to their salaries, overhead, travel and so forth.

More here.

Alert! Dumb Republican Governors are Jumping to the Tune of Refugee Contractors!

The Orange X marks those dumb governors who have caved to the Left and are opposing the President in his effort to slow the flow of refugees to American towns and cities.

So far, we know of 15 Republican governors who have been foolish and obviously railroaded by the federal resettlement contractors*** to rush to tell their voters that they have capitulated and are opposing the President on Trump’s signature issue of the 2016 presidential election—getting the dysfunctional UN/US Refugee Admissions Program under control.

It is increasingly clear that those who have said they are consenting to more refugees and thus going against the President didn’t even read the Funding Guidance.

According to those US State Department guidelines, that the resettlement contractors must abide by in order to get their funding for the latter part of FY2020 (yes, this entire exercise is set up as part of the funding mechanism for the nine contractors), they must have the governor’s consent along with the approval in writing from the county commissioners where they want to place the refugees in order to get their payola in June.

Although there is supposed to be a January 21st deadline, on careful reading one can see that governors and counties have months until the new program begins on June 1 to say whether they are ready for more destitute third-worlders or not.

The Republican governors with the big X across their faces are the dumb governors so far who fell for the contractors’ lobbying push when they claimed the deadline was Christmas.

Is Texas Governor Greg Abbott going to play it smart?  Or how about Florida’s Ron DeSantis, or Georgia’s Brian Kemp?

You can help make that happen by continuing to pound them —tell them you want no more refugees in late 2020 (the program as it has been run for decades is in effect until June!).  Tell them we already have enough of our own poor and vulnerable citizens who need help.

And, if the governor is smart and doesn’t care about pandering to the Left, especially to the ‘religious’ Left, or being pushed around by Secretary of State Pompeo (I have more to say on that later, but no time at the moment), he or she will just stay silent if the answer isn’t a resounding NO right now.

This is Church World Service’s poster girl. The resettlement contractors are not just pushing for more legal refugees, but are politically active pressing for more immigration of all stripes.

***For new readers these (below) are the nine federally-funded refugee contractors that operate as a huge conveyor belt monopolizing all refugee placement in America.

For decades they have decided in secrecy where to place refugees and they don’t want to lose that power because even as they pontificate about their religious convictions and humanitarian zeal, they are Leftwing political activist groups working to change America by changing the people and using your money to do it!

Refugee Resettlement Used as a [Expletive] Bargaining Chip! Do I Smell a Quid Pro Quo?

“It’s a bargaining tool: We’ll take a certain number of refugees. These are the things you will do for us.”

(Melanie Nezer, Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society)

This is just a quick post as I am researching WTH Secretary of State Pompeo was doing when he had a little chit-chat about refugees with the now under- fire Tennessee Governor Bill Lee in October.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo

Before I get to the little nugget I discovered in a 2018 Politico article about Pompeo, I want to remind long time readers, and inform new readers, that way back seven years ago (and long before that) the US State Department annually invited comment on the coming years refugee plans.

However, when those so-called scoping meetings began to be dominated by those of us who want the refugee program dumped or reformed, they stopped having the annual (albeit phony) ‘hearings.’

The Trump State Department has had no such opportunity for public input.

I regularly sent in testimony demanding a moratorium on the program and listed ten reasons, most are still applicable today.  See them here.

Here is my Number 7:

7)   Congress needs to specifically disallow the use of the refugee program for other purposes of the US Government, especially using certain refugee populations to address unrelated foreign policy objectives—Uzbeks, Kosovars, Meshketians and Bhutanese (Nepalese) people come to mind.

Now check this out at Politico in August of 2018.

Refugees as pawns and your community be damned!

“Pompeo is the critical stakeholder,” one refugee advocate said.

Melanie Nezer of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society. (One of nine federal refugee resettlement contractors.)

Now that he’s served both as CIA director and secretary of state, activists hope that Pompeo has earned an appreciation for the diplomatic leverage having a robust refugee program can give the U.S. in negotiations with other countries.

“It’s a bargaining tool: We’ll take a certain number of refugees. These are the things you will do for us,” explained Melanie Nezer, a top official with HIAS, one of several organizations that helps refugees.

It is time to shut up about the humanitarian BS!  A refugee should be someone who is in legitimate need of protection, not a chip in a foreign policy poker game.

Think about that!  Your community will be changed forever (while you pay for it with your tax dollars) because refugees being admitted to the US are pawns in US foreign policy wheeling and dealing!

Democrat Presidential Candidates Eager to Invite over 100,000 Refugees Annually to US

In a story about Indiana’s Pete Buttigieg, Vox News reports that he has released his immigration plan which includes a huge jump in refugee numbers that consequently will make the nine refugee resettlement contractors*** wealthier than they have been in their entire history.

Buttigieg’s refugee welcome numbers will put the old man’s (Obama’s) to shame!

Contrary to popular opinion, Obama admitted no where near the numbers the Dems are proposing.

He averaged just under 70,000 for his entire 8 years in office. See here.

A couple of those years were in the 50,000s!

These numbers being proposed by leading Democrat candidates will put Obama to shame.

And, as I have said repeatedly Open Borders Inc. will claim they need to be this high or higher to ‘MAKE UP FOR WHAT THEY WILL DUB THE LOST TRUMP YEARS.’

It is imperative that President Trump is re-elected and then in his second term he must work to dump the entire UN/US Refugee Admissions Program as originally crafted by Senators Ted Kennedy, Joe Biden and President Jimmy Carter.

Here is Vox:

Pete Buttigieg’s immigration plan rebukes Trump and calls for an overhaul of the system

Buttigieg’s plan aims to reverse various Trump policies: his travel ban on individuals from seven countries deemed to be security threats, the practice of family separations, and his cap on annual refugee admissions (to a historic low of 18,000), as well as the practice of keeping migrants trapped in Mexican border towns while they wait for decisions on their asylum applications.

Warren wants 175,000 needy third worlders (future Democrat voters!) admitted to the US as refugees by the end of her first term in office.

He proposes to raise the cap on annual refugee admissions to 125,000 during his first year in office, and says he supports legislation that would set an annual floor of 95,000 admissions. That’s on par with what Biden and Warren have proposed (though Warren has pledged to raise the cap to 175,000 by the end of her first term.) Sanders, by contrast, has vowed to increase the cap, but hasn’t specified a number.

By the way, the reason they are pushing the idea of legislatively setting an annual floor is to make the contractors happy because it will assure them job security from year to year (their income depends on numbers) in the event the country elects another President like Donald Trump.

And just so you don’t forget:  ol’ Uncle Joe worked with Teddy to craft this original flawed program back in 1979.  Jimmy Carter signed the Refugee Act into law in 1980. And, to show what a hypocrite Biden is, his home state of Delaware takes only a handful of refugees annually.  Some years it has taken a big fat zero!

I laughed when I saw that ‘Creeping Sharia’ recently tweeted out this video I did a few years back and made a slight change!
