Nebraska bill would place financial responsibility on refugee resettlement contractors

All over the country, various governors and state legislatures are attempting to get some control over the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program which has, up until now, placed third world refugees in cities and towns in 48 states with no serious attempt to get local input.
Now I see that a bill has been introduced in Nebraska which would put financial responsibility on the non-profit resettlement contractor acting as the front for the federal government if refugees commit criminal acts.
I have no idea whether this could fly, but readers remember that every time an effort like this is made, and publicity is generated, more Americans learn that this program exists, and most don’t like it when they find out!
There will be no one silver bullet to the heart of the program, it will take years of agitation (political and legal) by you and your fellow citizens who hopefully will ultimately prevail in convincing your legislators in Washington that their continued support of the present program will cost them their political futures.
Before I give you the news from the North Platte Bulletin, please check out our category on crimes here at RRW. We have 1,927 posts! on the topic going back to 2007.  Not all involve refugees, some posts are about other criminals who got into the US through a legal program and some involve crimes in Europe, however anyone looking for examples of refugees who committed crimes should mine that category.

There should have been some responsibility placed on refugee contractor in Utah!

I want to tell you about one crime that still haunts me and it happened years ago (in 2008).
In Utah a Burmese Muslim was placed in a housing complex with Burmese Christians and he raped and brutally murdered a little Christian girl.  It was a horrible crime and involved a lengthy (expensive) trial in Salt Lake City that found him guilty (never made national news and it should have!).
I always believed there should have been some repercussions for the resettlement contractor (and the US State Dept) that placed him among Burmese Christians.  (A Salt Lake Tribune reporter, Julia Lyon, went to Thailand and found that the Muslims and Christians were in separate sections of the refugee camp for obvious reasons!).
Utah taxpayers will pay for his incarceration for life.
So, I like this idea of placing some responsibility on the local resettlement contractors because maybe they will stop being so naive about who they are dropping off in your neighborhoods!
Here is the North Platte Bulletin:

A bill introduced in the Legislature would make resettlement groups more financially responsible for Muslim refugees that they sponsor.

The bill would specify that a refugee resettlement agency is liable to the state or any political subdivision for the cost of prosecution and damages or injuries to victims proximately caused by criminal acts committed by refugee accepted by the agency within the state of Nebraska.

Kintner
Nebraska state Senator Bill Kintner introduced the legislation.

The liability for each refugee would continue for five years after the refugee is relocated within the state.

The bill is sponsored by Sen. Bill Kitner of Omaha. The Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing at 1:30 p.m. Friday on LB 966.

Nebraska Taxpayers for Freedom President Doug Kagan said Monday that the bill is a step in the right direction because it will make the resettlement organizations more responsible for financial burdens that others might face.

More here and click here for everything we have said about Nebraska (meatpackers involved again!).
To see who is resettling refugees in Nebraska, scroll down this list (it is out of order and Nebraska follows North Dakota).
Again, I invite anyone working on bills like this to search our “crimes” category and you will find some shocking examples of rapists, murderers, Islamic terrorists and other petty criminals in the US refugee population.  Often overlooked when analyzing the cost of refugee resettlement, are the costs for court interpreters, police, trials and incarceration that state and local taxpayers must bear.

Wyoming legislature would have to approve refugee resettlement plan for the state

This is the latest news from one of only two states not getting third-worlders resettled within their borders (Montana is the other, so far!).
Before you read this article from the Wyoming Tribune Eagle be sure to see our extensive archive on the battle for Wyoming’s sovereignty and freedom from UN/federal government dictatorial decisions on refugee resettlement for the state.  We were shocked back in February 2014 to learn that Wyoming’s Republican Governor Matt Mead had actually (the previous year!) invited the Dept. of Health and Human Service’s Office of Refugee Resettlement in to set up shop in Wyoming.
Here is Mead’s letter (before he ran into a grassroots citizen buzz saw).  Notice that in 2013, the Governor was saying that he had unilaterally “elected to pursue” a program for the resettlement of refugees to Wyoming.

Now to the Tribune Eagle (hat tip: Joanne):

CHEYENNE – Wyoming is the only state in the nation without a refugee resettlement program.

And a bill being considered by the Legislature would require lawmakers’ approval to change that.

The House Minerals, Business and Economic Development Committee voted Friday to advance a bill that blocks the governor from unilaterally setting up a state program that would help refugees who arrive directly or indirectly in Wyoming.

Matt mead finger pointing
Why is Republican Governor Matt Mead so eager to invite impoverished third-worlders to the state? Have they run out of needy Americans in WY? Those are the questions!

Instead, House Bill 47 would require public hearings and a majority vote in the Legislature before the state could set up a plan that would be needed to get federal funding for a refugee program.

Rep. Tom Reeder, R-Casper, is sponsoring the bill. He said this is not about recruiting refugees or deciding whether refugees can or cannot relocate in Wyoming.

“The 1980 Resettlement Act says if the (federal government) accepts a refugee, they can move freely throughout the United States,” he said. “This is just whether we want to develop a program that would help people, and this is really a funding mechanism.”

The bill says the state plan would include how it intends to promote economic self-sufficiency for the refugees, offer language programs and decide what state, federal or private costs would be associated with the relocation efforts.

It also would provide recommendations on who would be responsible for coordinating public and private resources.

The question of whether Wyoming should set up a refugee plan has been a contentious topic since Gov. Matt Mead notified federal officials in 2013 that he was exploring setting up public-private partnership for the resettlement program.

The issue then became a topic during the 2014 gubernatorial campaign with some candidates and citizens criticizing the governor over the move.

Now he says this:

But Mead has maintained he has not made a decision on whether to set up such a program.

Make no mistake!  It is citizens fighting back in Wyoming that has kept the state free of resettled refugees for the last two years.  If no one had spoken up Mead’s resettlement office (originally planned for Casper) would be up and running!
See this FY2014 map where federal bureaucrats in Washington had prematurely placed Casper, WY as a resettlement site!

Columbus, Ohio: Somali refugee rampage, was it a terrorist attack?

Update February 16th:  Original reports may have been inaccurate about the machete man’s nationality, see more here.
…..If it walks like a duck!
I’m assuming that by now most of you with concerns about the large number of Muslim refugees being admitted into the US have seen the news.
It took awhile for the slasher’s (the “hater’s”) name to be released and I suspect that is because one of his names happens to be Mohamed. And, although mainstream media (like CNN) will probably never use the word “refugee” in a news story,  (CNN said he was a “lone wolf”), I’m pleased to see that internet news is using the ‘R’ word.
Almost all of the hundreds of thousands of Somalis in the US are refugees admitted to the US through the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program or their children (there are now many generations in the last three plus decades!).
Way back in 2008 we wrote a post where we had researched each year of State Department/ORR records to show readers how many Somalis were resettled each year since the 1980s.  See that post here.
It is no surprise that this happened in Columbus, which is hosting the second largest Somali population in America (behind Minneapolis).  We have many posts on Columbus, click here for more reading pleasure.  And, you can bet that Governor John Kasich has never once questioned why Ohio is being overloaded with Somalis.
Four of nine major resettlement contractors are working to colonize Columbus: Church World Service, Episcopal Migration Ministries, Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, and World Relief/Evangelicals (scroll down to Ohio, here).  For new readers, don’t be so shocked that YES, the Somali Muslims are being resettled by supposedly Christian and Jewish organizations.
I did a little numbers research and Yikes! we admitted 43,653 Somalis to the US JUST SINCE OBAMA TOOK OFFICE!  So while we are freaking out about Syrians we should be having heart attacks over this vast number of Somalis because you know they can’t be any better “vetted” than Syrians!
Here is where the 43,653 were resettled since January 1, 2009 (up to January 1, 2016).  Of the 2,476 who went to Ohio, 2,118 went to Columbus in just the last seven years!

Now here is one of many stories about the Ohio Somali refugee machete man.

This one from Conservative Base:

While the President visits mosques, scolds Americans and continues to parrot his own ideas about Islam and extremism, a Muslim Somali refugee launched a bloody attack on the unsuspecting diners at a Columbus, Ohio, restaurant owned by a Christian Arab who immigrated from Israel.

[….]

Nazarath restauratn
The restaurant where the carnage happened is owned by an Israeli Christian. Sure looks like an Islamic terror attack to me!

The Somali man had calmly entered the eatery, the Nazareth Mediterranean Restaurant, pulled out a machete and began to arbitrarily slash patrons. “He came to each table and just started hitting them,” Carol Bass, one of the witnesses, told a reporter from the local CBS TV affiliate. “There was a man (laying) on the [restaurant’s floor] bleeding. [T]here was blood on the floor. It was awful. It… was carnage.”

Four people were wounded in the machete attack, one critically, according to the local police officers responding to the attack, which has not yet been classified a terrorist attack. “Police officers are loathe to describe anything as a terrorist attack. That’s the unwritten regulation when it involves a suspect from the Middle East. The suspect is a Muslim, he’s from a country that’s practically run by an Islamic terrorist group — in Somalia it’s probably Al-Shabaab — and he attacks a public facility such as a shopping mall or a restaurant and no one wants to call it terrorism. At least until President [Barack] Obama says so,” claims former counter-terrorism unit police officer John Roger Langdon.

Senators Sessions and Cruz want the Obama Administration to stop covering up arrests of Muslims!

In fact, Langdon noted that Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., and Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, recently sent a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch calling on the administration to stop covering up the arrests of Muslim jihadists within the U.S. The senators’ letter states that since early 2014 there have been 113 arrests of Muslims implicated in terrorist activity on U.S. soil and the Obama administration refuses to provide an immigration history on any of them.

Sens. Sessions and Cruz also mention in their letter that most of the cases involving radical Muslims have received little or no coverage in the national media as a result of blind support to the President or being ensnared in the political-correctness orthodoxy..

The targeted restaurant’s owner, Hany Baransi, who is identified by cops as a Christian Arab from Israel, said he had not taken a day off since Jan. 2 but took off Thursday night because of a migraine headache. He is a proud Israeli citizen who flies the Israeli flag in his restaurant.

More here, and here.

Germany: 'welcoming' churches getting shaky over the migrant invasion

Invasion of Europe news….
When do the numbers get so high that even the religious do-gooders start to worry?  I guess we are seeing their limit now after a million migrants have invaded Germany.

How many is too many?

cologne-police-epa
Amazing how those sex attacks on New Years Eve outside the famous Cathedral in Cologne have shifted public opinion in Germany.

Next time you get into an argument with an Open Borders ‘humanitarian’ here in America (or anywhere actually) ask them what is their limit.  What is the number that would be too many for even them?  I bet you get a deer-in-the-headlights look!  If they say there should be no limits and no borders you know you are dealing with an anarchist and not a humanitarian!
So now we are beginning to see the extent of the German “welcome.”  They are coming to their senses, but of course the big question is:  Is it too late?
We told you about the German Catholic Bishop (Marx) here recently, now the Lutherans are getting worried.
From Religion News Service:

PARIS (RNS) Germany’s Christian churches, long the most positive voices greeting waves of Middle Eastern refugees pouring into the country in recent months, have begun to admit the need to limit the flow now that public opinion towards the newcomers has turned from welcoming to wary.

Catholic and Protestant church leaders fully backed Chancellor Angela Merkel’s original open-door policy announced on Sept. 4, framing it as wealthy Germany’s Christian duty to offer refuge to all Syrians and others fleeing civil war in their home countries.

They continued preaching this through Christmas and New Year, saying Germany could not set an upper limit to its hospitality, even though Merkel gave in to rising criticism and falling poll ratings in mid-December to say that she would “noticeably reduce the number of refugees.”

Then came the New Years Eve sex attacks.

After a few weeks’ delay, the heads of both the Catholic and Protestant churches have shifted their focus and begun to speak about controlling the number of arrivals.

[….]

Heinrich Bedford-Strohm, Bavaria’s Lutheran bishop and head of the Evangelical Church in Germany, said it was “clear that we have to want” a reduction in refugees. He warned against debates about which immigration policy was more moral.

It is unclear to me what Bedford-Strohm means here about not debating the morality of immigration policy, but maybe he is getting at the idea of reality (German practicality!) trumping humanitarian zeal.

Pittsburgh: Jewish agency and Islamic Center working together to bring more Syrians to the city

Islamic Center
Islamic Center of Pittsburgh

We’ve told you previously that apparently the city of Pittsburgh has run out of American poor people and is looking to import more poverty from the Middle East, Africa and Asia so at least their poverty would be diverse.
The mayor, Bill Peduto, wrote to Obama in September looking especially for thousands of Syrians.
I’ll bet African American voters helped put this guy in office and they don’t get it that he is now bringing in competition for low income housing and jobs for low-skill workers. (The city is 26% African American, here)
This is the latest from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (housing and jobs are in short supply, no kidding?):

While the city of Pittsburgh might be welcoming more refugees from war-torn Syria, it is local agencies such as Jewish Family & Children’s Service and the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh that are working to make their lives here possible.

The challenges, Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto said, are housing and jobs.

Leslie Aizeman 2
Leslie Aizenman of the local Jewish resettlement office explains how her organization uses your tax dollars to find housing and jobs for refugees.

“It’s not the city government that does this work,” Mr. Peduto said at “A Syrian Summit” Thursday night at East Liberty Presbyterian Church. “It’s the agencies … they look at those two critical factors.”

[….]

Dozens of people attended the meeting, sponsored by the Southwest PA division of the National Association of Social Workers, to ask Mr. Peduto and other speakers what Pittsburgh is doing for Syrian refugees and to advocate for them to live here. Four families already do.

[….]

The city will be able to take 500 refugees — not just Syrians — this year, he said.

Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Pittsburgh is a sub-contractor of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, here. Don’t forget, HIAS is the organization that wrote a report in 2013 which urged the Southern Poverty Law Center to investigate (and label as racists, bigots and xenophobes) anyone who had problems with the social and economic upheaval from refugee resettlement in their communities.
Pennsylvania is in the top FIVE states ‘welcoming’ mostly Muslim Syrians, see here.
