Montana: Colombian refugee charged with sexually assaulting child

Whew!  This story from the Bozeman Daily Chronicle (hat tip: Paul) gives me an opportunity to mention two things.  First Montana takes only a few refugees a year and second did you know we were taking “refugees” from Colombia?  I did, but rarely do we see anything in the news about that stream of refugees to America.

Five months into fiscal year 2015, we have resettled 273 “refugees” from the South American country of Colombia.  How this guy got to Montana as a cleaning contractor, from Arizona where he supposedly has a family, remains a mystery.  Do cleaning contractors send teams out to other states?  Is there no one in Montana willing to clean?

Here is the US Conference of Catholic Bishops’ pitch on why we need to bring Colombians to America.

From the Bozeman Daily Chronicle:

Barreiro-Guerrero with translator. Remember “welcoming” communities! You pay for the translators!

A man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl in a grocery store bathroom over the weekend was ordered held in jail Monday on $500,000 bail.

Johnny Barreiro-Guerrero, 39, has been charged with felony sexual assault, felony assault on a minor and misdemeanor indecent exposure. Gallatin County Justice Court Judge Bryan Adams set Barreiro-Guerrero’s bail.

[….]

The alleged victim, a 7-year-old girl, said that when she was in the bathroom, Barreiro-Guerrero kissed her, held her against a wall and touched her sexually. She said during the encounter, Barreiro-Guerrero also unzipped his pants and showed her his penis.

At the store, officers contacted Barreiro-Guerrero, who matched the description given by the girl. Barreiro-Guerrero only speaks Spanish, so a translator assisted a detective during an interview.

Barreiro-Guerrero, who identified himself as a Columbian refugee, said he was in the women’s bathroom cleaning when he heard the girl come in. He said he didn’t leave when the girl entered and he saw her wash her hands. [He claims not to have touched her—ed]

[….]

During Barreiro-Guerrero’s court appearance Monday, Gallatin County Deputy Attorney Jesse Bushnell requested the $500,000 bond.

Bushnell called Barreiro-Guerrero a “danger to the community” and said the “randomness” of the offense and the age of the alleged victim warranted a high bond.

Bushnell also said that Barreiro-Guerrero is a flight risk. He has no ties to Montana and had a plane ticket scheduled to leave the state Monday, Bushnell said.

Remember stories like this one when the feds promise you that refugees are very carefully screened!

Concerned about female genital mutilation in the American refugee population?

The federal Office of Refugee Resettlement has sent out an announcement about a US Justice Department webinar on how to stop FGM in populations of refugees coming from certain African and Middle Eastern countries.

Before learning how you can get on the webinar, remember this story and map:

Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) in the United States

On March 18, 2015, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. ET, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) will host “Keeping Kids Safe:  Preventing Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting in the United States.”  Experts from the U.S. Departments of Justice and Education, Sanctuary for Families, and Johns Hopkins University will provide an overview of female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C); highlight the U.S. government’s response to FGM/C; discuss its physical, psychological, and emotional impacts; provide resources for practitioners and educators; and explore laws to keep children safe.

Learning Objectives:
  • Raise awareness and understanding of issues that some young girls and women face in the U.S. and abroad related to FGM/C
  • Present information on the physical, psychological, and emotional effects of FGM/C
  • Provide tools and resources to identify and prevent FGM/C in at-risk young girls and a toll free phone number and e-mail for reporting tips about persons at risk for FGM/C
  • Explain the legal consequences of FGM/C as a federal crime and a reportable child abuse offense in most states

Register here for “Keeping Kids Safe: Preventing Female Genital Mutilation in the United States.”

Please note: Adobe Connect must be installed on your device in order for you to register or watch the webinar. If you have never attended an Adobe Connect meeting before or have not installed the necessary add-in, test your connection by clicking here.

Here is my idea on how to stop it—-after saving the girl, deport any family caught promoting this practice in any way and put in place a moratorium on any new refugees coming from countries and cultures where this horrific practice is common!

German pastor wants prostitutes made available to asylum seeking men…

….to give them relief!

Looking for relief in Germany? Photo at Junge Freiheit

Before you read on, if you missed it, please go to Friday’s post about how the Catholic Church in Germany is unloading centuries-old Catholic abbeys to the government to house mostly Muslim asylum seekers.  If you think I am being overly alarmist about the end of Germany, this story might help persuade you otherwise.

Thanks to reader ‘Caroline’ for sending us the story, here, at Online Focus (in German).

This is Caroline’s summation for us. But, another reader (‘shiratori99’) has sent an English translation at Junge Freiheit (that translation isn’t the greatest).  Here is Caroline:

The pastor’s motto is “free love for free people.” In this way Bordello owners can perform “good works” also. Because in the afternoon at bordellos not much is happening, so that would be a good time to help those, poor deprived (my description sarcastic) asylum seekers. In the last paragraph it says that he won’t reveal funding sources. He says it should be funded by some kind of “support group”. In the 3rd paragraph it says the idea came to him when a friend said to him that in his village 100 asylum seekers were soon arriving & the friend was afraid that that many men would “bother” the women in the village.

Apparently not a word about the fact that these asylum-seeking men are mostly Muslims.

But, maybe we shouldn’t be so quick to criticize the pastor, with the thousands of Muslim migrants entering Germany now, maybe his motive really is to save German fräuleins and to be sure Germany doesn’t challenge Sweden for the title of rape capitol of the world?

Oops!  Forgot to link our ‘Invasion of Europe’ series when first posted.

Sweden is rape capital of the world

Thanks to everyone who sent this important report from the Gatestone Institute which defines very clearly how the multicultural experiment in the socialists’ dream land—Sweden—has gone very wrong.  And, it isn’t just Islamophobes making the case, here is an incredible graph from the United Nations.

Go here for our complete archive on Sweden where we have been making the case for years that the country is the immigration ‘canary in the coal mine’ for the West.  Don’t miss ‘UN calls Sweden ‘Afrophobic’!

Illinois sexual assault allegations against revered Imam reveal insularity of some US Muslim immigrant communities

….but maybe times are changing!

***Update*** February 16th: the Imam has left the country!  (at Creeping Sharia)

This is a long story in the New York Times that you should have a look at.  The Islamic school, where the sexual abuse is said to have occurred, is described as having a “fundamentalist” orientation.

ELGIN, Ill. — Ordinarily, she never wore a veil. But it was required at the Islamic school where she worked, and she remembers being surprised when the head of the school, a conservative imam, suggested that she remove it and reveal her face.

Mohammad Abdullah Saleem

When the imam, Mohammad Abdullah Saleem, came into the office where she worked, she said, he would sometimes touch her cheek or put an arm around her shoulder. Mr. Saleem was revered in her close-knit community, and she did not object at first. But simply being alone together represented a forbidden intimacy, and looking back, she said those first gestures should have been more alarming.

“It’s not something that gets done,” the 23-year-old woman said recently. “Men and women don’t even shake hands.”

Over time, she said the touching became more aggressive, reaching a point that she did something almost unheard-of in her community. She told people: her family, a social worker, an Islamic scholar. Recently, she went to the police. As word spread of what she had told them, three other women came forward, telling detectives that as young girls they had been molested by Mr. Saleem.

[….]

The accusations are particularly jarring because of Mr. Saleem’s stature. “In the South Asian community, he is like Billy Graham. He’s the archbishop of Chicago,” said Omer Mozaffar, an Islamic scholar who serves as the Muslim chaplain at Loyola University Chicago and who acted as a mediator between Mr. Saleem and his first accuser last year.

Three cheers for the brave women who have stepped forward with information.

There is a lot more about this diversity is beautiful (not!) news, here.
