Fox News' Bill O'Reilly calls for one year moratorium on refugee resettlement

I happened to catch his talking points memo last night.

However, he didn’t have the story exactly accurate on Australia.  He praised that country for its tough stance on illegal migrants as if it’s always been that way. But for those interested in digging in to the facts there, see our category on Australia (184 posts going back 8 years) and see that their hardline stance is relatively recent and that the country foolishly admitted, for years, large numbers of Muslim migrants that are now pretty aggressive.
O’Reilly also mentioned the strange deal that the Obama Administration is advancing where we would take off Australia’s hands hundreds (at least) of Australia’s rejected asylum seekers (our coverage here) presently housed in off-shore detention facilities.
However, here is the part we liked best in O’Reilly’s statement.  Thanks to Media Matters for tracking this type of story more closely than some on our side do.

You can see 3 + minutes of the statement by O’Reilly by clicking here.  (I see they left out the Australia portion.) You may not like some of O’Reilly’s prescriptions for dealing with our illegal aliens living in the US.

Speaker Ryan lied to Bill O'Reilly, will O'Reilly call him out on it?

This is a test for the ‘no spin zone!’

Will Bill have the guts to smack down (uh, get clarification from) the Speaker?
Here is another piece of great investigating and writing by Julia Hahn at Breitbart.  I happened to catch the interview (although I don’t often watch O’Reilly) and thought to myself that Ryan doesn’t even know what he is talking about, or did he intentionally mislead O’Reilly?.

O'Reilly and Ryan

Hahn:

In a Wednesday interview with Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly, House Speaker Paul Ryan made a demonstrably false declaration about his efforts to pause the Somali refugee program.

During the interview, O’Reilly criticized Ryan for failing to message on immigration controls and asked Ryan specifically about the Somali refugee crisis in Minnesota.

O’Reilly: “We have a Somali problem up in Minneapolis-St. Paul. [We] have a problem there and those are refugees from Somalia. And if, God forbid, some refugee comes in and blows people up, it’s going to be grisly.”

Ryan replied by explaining that he passed a bill to pause the refugee program. Ryan said: “Right. Right. That’s why– just so you know that’s why we passed a bill pausing this refugee program, because we don’t think the refugee program works. That’s why we don’t want it to continue right now.”

However, Ryan did no such thing. The bill Ryan championed did not in any way pause the Somali refugee program– it applied solely to refugees from Syria and Iraq.

The House bill would “not have affected the Somali refugee program at all,” said NumbersUSA Director of Government Relations Rosemary Jenks.

Jenks further noted that, “The bill the House passed would in no way pause the refugee program. They had the option of taking up the Babin bill, which would have paused the refugee program, but they refused to do that… All [the House bill] required was that the government sign off that individuals had been vetted. It didn’t even change the fact that we don’t have any information by which to vet them.”

This is great! Continue reading here.  Watch the O’Reilly interview, here.  Start at about minute 1:50 or a little earlier.
And, be sure to see the numbers we reported in our previous post for this fiscal year.  Somalis, at this time, actually surpass Syrian numbers and we all know there is no way to know who they all are any more than we can know who the Syrians are—no data bases in their failed or failing countries!
Ryan has to go! See how you can help by clicking here.

Bill O'Reilly will address refugee overload tonight on Fox

O'REilly factor
I hope O’Reilly, a staunch Catholic, doesn’t give any moralist spin to the story—just the news Bill! No preaching! No spin!

Update October 6th: I happened to catch a segment last night that might have been what was being promoted.  It was Jesse Waters in Dearborn, Michigan and it was not very useful.  If you see the video clip, send it my way and I’ll post the link, but I’m not going to bother looking for it.
Update:  Oregon slaughter must have pushed refugees off the show tonight.
Several readers have alerted me to news that Bill O’Reilly will be discussing a Maine town over-loaded with refugees on his popular Fox News TV show tonight.  You might want to tune in.
Another reader tells me that investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson (I love her work!) is debuting a new show soon and that she was on the radio yesterday talking about a feature story in that new show. It is going to be about a refugee-overloaded town.  I sure hope ol’ Bill hasn’t stolen her story! ***Update*** More on Attkisson’s segment on refugee program.
As I said the other day about the biased New York Times story from South Carolina, here, any mainstream media news to get people thinking about whether the US should be pouring impoverished people into America, as well as so-called ‘refugees’ who cannot be properly screened (the Syrians!), is a good thing.  And, it is about time!
Every time I go on a radio show (which is a lot lately), people are blown away when they hear how the Refugee Admissions Program works and how it has been going on under the radar for 35 years!  To borrow a phrase—it is time for it to come out of the shadows!

I wonder do Bill’s producers know about the hearing today in the Senate on this very subject—the first since 911 as far as I can tell.

Tsarnaev grant of asylum steams Bill O’Reilly

O’Reilly:  Why are we supporting questionable foreign folks?

(LOL! He doesn’t know the half of it!)

I’m an ‘occasional’ fan of O’Reilly, and happened to catch part of his show last night when he used Alan Colmes as a punching bag about the Boston Bomber family’s reported $100,000 dip into the pockets of American taxpayers.

If O’Reilly continues to investigate the refugee/asylum system, I will be his number one fan!

Mediaite has the story and the clip:

Bill O’Reilly kicked off his show tonight expressing outrage with the mother of Boston bombing suspects the Tsarnaev brothers for accusing the United States of a conspiracy to frame and kill her children, when her family has been taking more than $100,000 in welfare benefits for years. O’Reilly and Monica Crowley expressed outrage at the lack of welfare oversight, and when Alan Colmes challenged their claims, O’Reilly told Colmes to “shut up.”

O’Reilly called the mother “disgraceful” for her comments, and asked exactly why “we the people [are] supporting questionable foreign folks.” He wanted to know why President Obama and Governor Deval Patrick aren’t expressing outrage with the fact that the Tsarnaevs were getting welfare assistance, decrying the lack of outrage as “business as usual” for an immigration policy and a welfare system that turns a blind eye in situations like these.

Watch the 8 minute segment on Mediaite.

The Asylum question!

Why did we let them in and how persecuted could they have been if they were, and are, traveling back and forth?

Funny that the Mediaite report just focused on the welfare use, but to me O’Reilly’s outrage about their “vacations” to the land of persecution struck a cord.

Readers, we have seen it over and over again.  We give refuge to people who claim persecution and then we see them go ‘home’ for visits and to do business.  We have written at RRW about Bosnians going ‘home’ because they still own property, Mesketian Turks have houses to sell back ‘home’ and we can only speculate that they too must go back to Russia for occasional business, but the most outrageous are the Somalis.  (Muslims all!)

We are resettling Somalis by the hundreds each month RIGHT NOW, yet many we have fed, housed, clothed and educated go back for various reasons—primarily “business” or to visit the family. Who can afford a plane ticket to Africa?   But, we can’t forget that dozens of ‘youths’ went back to learn the fine art of Jihad, here in 2008!

Since the beginning of the 2013 fiscal year we have resettled 3,674 SomalisIf that rate continues we will be bringing  nearly 9,000 Somalis to your cities this year, putting 2013 right up there with some of our top resettlement years (since 9/11!) for Somalis!

BTW, the family reunification program for Somalis recently re-opened after being closed for years because of widespread fraud—those getting in as ‘family’ were found (through random DNA testing) not to be related at all.  The State Department admitted that tens of thousands of Somalis are in the US illegally!

Yet, we have one report after another that the new government of Somalia is welcoming American Somalis HOME!

Don’t forget!

The Gang of Eight bill will make it easier for so-called asylum seekers and refugees to be admitted to the US because it makes whole groups of people eligible while under the present  system they are still supposed to prove they personally fear persecution!

Please Bill keep investigating!
