And, now the US has one of the architects of that policy—David Miliband—heading a US refugee contractor the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and demanding that the Obama Administration admit 65,000 Syriansto the US before his term in office ends.
Incredible news from the Daily Mail (hat tip: Joanne):
David Miliband (left) wants the US to take in 65,000 mostly Muslim Syrians into the country before the end of 2016. He and brother Ed (right) helped bring economically and socially destructive mass immigration to the UK.
Labour sent out ‘search parties’ for immigrants to get them to come to the UK, Lord Mandelson has admitted.
In a stunning confirmation that the Blair and Brown governments deliberately engineered mass immigration, the former Cabinet Minister and spin doctor said New Labour sought out foreign workers.
He also conceded that the influx of arrivals meant the party’s traditional supporters are now unable to find work.
By contrast, Labour leader Ed Milibandhas said his party got it wrong on immigration but has refused to admit it was too high under Labour. [The IRC’s David Miliband is Ed’s brother! Their father Ralph was a well-known Marxist—ed]
[…]
Between 1997 and 2010, net migration to Britain totalled more than 2.2million, more than twice the population of Birmingham.
[….]
Lord Mandelson’s remarks come three years after Labour officials denied claims by former adviser Andrew Neather that they deliberately encouraged immigration in order to change the make-up of Britain.
Mr Neather said the policy was designed to ‘rub the Right’s nose in diversity’.
He said there was ‘a driving political purpose: that mass immigration was the way that the Government was going to make the UK truly multicultural’
Is the flooding of certain conservative US Congressional districts with refugees an effort to “rub the Right’s nose in diversity?”
World Net Daily reporter, Leo Hohmann, has provided (to a much larger audience than we ever could hope to have) our recent information (here and here) that British former Foreign Secretary David Miliband, now the CEO of the largest (in dollar terms) US refugee resettlement agency, the International Rescue Committee, wants Obama to supply the contractors with the next large batch of paying “clients.”
As Hillary announces her Presidential run today, remember who her friends are! Hillary yuks it up with David Miliband in 2009. Hillary: “Well, if you saw him it would be a big crush.” http://www.theguardian.com/world/2009/nov/17/hillary-clinton-david-miliband-interview
Here is what Hohmann said yesterday, but even more interesting than the news is what the commenters are saying!
Just a few snips of what Miliband is demanding:
“First … it can raise the 70,000 cap specifically to accommodate Syrian refugees over the next two years. By historical standards, the U.S. should be committing to take around 65,000 — or 50 percent — of those identified by the U.N. for resettlement by the end of 2016.”
Miliband also requests the U.S. move at a faster pace in its screening of applicants, a process that is overseen by the Department of Homeland Security with help from the FBI.
[….]
He closed the editorial by saying: “The U.S. is in a position to help by swiftly expanding resettlement and encouraging other donor states to follow its example. The moral choice is clear.”
One commenter said this (below) in response to my request to contact your Member of Congress and US Senators. I know they have been pretty hopeless, but don’t let them off the hook. Don’t let them someday say they didn’t know! After you call or write, then write a ‘letter to the editor’ of your local paper and tell them what you told your Washington supposed representatives. Spread the news on social media and at least tell your family and friends!

What is it going to do in contacting our congressmen and women? They havent done anything to stop Obama, why would they now?
Please also write to Rep. Michael McCaul of Texas, Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, and thank him for standing firm on the security concerns about a large influx of not properly screened Syrians to America. Tell him to please stand firm!
Here he goes again! The former British Foreign Secretary and CEO of the refugee resettlement contractor, the International Rescue Committee, is demanding that the US resettle the mostly Muslim Syrians that theFBI has already saidcannot be properly screened for security because frankly there are no records on the hundreds of thousands who have been pouring out of Syria!
Raise the ceiling, says Miliband!
David Miliband (center) with Jonathan and George Soros. http://www.crainsnewyork.com/gallery/20131110/ARTS/111009999/2
We told you here recently that Miliband wants Obama to raise the ceiling on the total refugee numbers to be admitted to the US, something Obama can legally do in CONSULTATION with Congress!
Raising the ceiling is the only way to bring in that many Syrians since the total refugee resettlement projection for all refugees from across the globe this year, and likely 2016, is 70,000.
Do we have any hope that this Congress would even pay attention if Obama tried to pull that off?
And, is this why the resettlement contractors are out scouting (in secrecy) new potential sites to ‘seed’ with refugees?
For new readers, when Miliband arrived in New York to head the giant IRC*** he was feted by non-other than Bill Clinton, George Soros and Samantha Power which tells you all you need to know about him, here in 2013.
BEIRUT (AP) — An international aid group on Thursday called on the United States to resettle 65,000 Syrians before the end of 2016, highlighting Washington’s slow response to the massive refugee crisis generated by the civil war.
David Miliband, the President and CEO of the International Rescue Committee, told The Associated Press in Beirut that the whole international community shares responsibility for the consequences of the Syrian civil war. [Why is that?—ed]
[….]
Miliband, a former U.K. Foreign Secretary, said the U.S. has traditionally taken half the world’s registered refugees who resettle in third countries and that the United Nations says it wants 130,000 refugees from Syria resettled in the wealthier countries of the world by the end of 2016.
Half of that number would be 65,000. To date, the U.S. has resettled just 648 Syrians, less than 1 percent of that figure.
“We are calling for scale and speed in response to this crisis. The Syria crisis shows no signs of abating,” he said.
***Doing well by doing good!
We just checked the most recent Form 990 available for the IRC (one of nine major federal resettlement contractors) and see that the giant ‘non-profit’ took in 451,017,146 that year and $305,481,609 came out of your wallets! Government grant amount is on page 9.
Miliband’s salary does not yet appear in a Form 990 because he is so new, but his predecessor George Rupp took home a whopping $485,321 in salary and benefits, so we can assume Miliband must be in that same salary range.
Astoundingly, this approximately 68% funded-by-you NGO paid two other top staffers in the $300,000 range and another eight got over $200,000. Imagine how many real poor people could be helped with that kind of money! Salaries are on page 175 of the 218 page return.
Please call your elected representatives in Washington and tell them NO Syrian Muslims for your towns and cities!
Go here to see a list of approximately 190 cities and towns where resettlement contractors are already working and remember if you live within a hundred miles of their offices you could be next to receive refugees gratis these fat cats! (By the way the list is somewhat alphabetically out of order, so look carefully for your state.)
Update March 22nd: This same Op-Ed is published at the Gulf Timesand they have a poll, go there and answer the poll question—should we bring Syrians into the US or not?
Hillary yuks it up with David Miliband in 2009. Hillary: “Well, if you saw him it would be a big crush.” http://www.theguardian.com/world/2009/nov/17/hillary-clinton-david-miliband-interview
Doing well by doing good?
For new readers, David Miliband is the former British Foreign Secretary who has moved across the Atlantic to serve as the CEO of the IRC.*** His predecessor pulled down a salary and benefits package of nearly $500,000 to “rescue” poor souls and we expect he didn’t pull up stakes in the UK for less than that.
As we were reminded by the Massachusetts contractor, here just a few days ago, this is a business! Contractors are paid by the head to resettle refugees in your towns and cities.
Security concerns!
A few weeks ago the FBI testified in Congress that they could not adequately screen the Syrians because there are no records on even who they are. Of course it begs the question, how did we screen over 100,000 Somalis we have admitted to the US over the last few decades?
Miliband first gives us the guilt trip about how countries in the Middle East are suffering with the arrival of hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees and somehow we need to do our share. Somehow the fact that we send millions of dollars in aid for the refugees isn’t enough.
And, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees is helping pressure Obama by placing over 10,000 Syrians in a queue for America.
Past experience tells us that once the pipeline is open for permanent resettlement to the US, it will be open for potentially decades even if the civil war wrapped up tomorrow!
Notice that Miliband never says a word about Christians and other religious minorities. We know that the vast majority of those in the pipeline are Syrian Muslims from UN camps.
Here is Miliband at the Washington Postgiving us three things we must do:
First, in light of the dire situation in Syria, it can raise the 70,000 cap specifically to accommodate Syrian refugees over the next two years.
Second, it can ensure that DHS issues needed guidance on “material support” waivers created in 2014, thus avoiding delays and denials to Syrians who have committed no wrongs. [These same contractors successfully lobbied the Administration to lift the material support for terrorism ban, and apparently DHS has never published any regulations. Some inside the Administration are evidently trying to protect us!—ed]
Third…The United States can expand resettlement options by establishing, through the refugee program, a family reunification mechanism enabling Syrian Americans to bring extended familyto safety more quickly.
On this last point, we already have mechanisms in place to bring LEGITIMATE family members to the US—we call it chain migration!
*** The IRC has the largest budget of the nine contractors. Approximately 73% comes from you:
International Rescue Committee (secular)
(From 2012 Form 990)
Total revenue: $456,122,865
Govt. grants and contracts (including travel loan income): $332,271,151
Percent taxpayer funded: 73%
Top salary: $485,321
Recently we told you that another US refugee resettlement contractor***, the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, was petitioning to pressure the Obama Administration to raise this year’s refugee ceiling from 70,000 to 100,000, but now we see that the IRC is pushing for a change as well.
Where did we get that information? From a new reportjust released by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in conjunction with the Norwegian Refugee Council.
Former British Foreign Secretary David Miliband (left) heads the IRC and was feted by Bill Clinton, George Soros, Samantha Power and Madeleine Albright in NYC last December. https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2013/12/09/new-york-times-slobbers-over-david-milibands-arrival-in-nyc-to-lead-refugee-contractor/
We saw the news here at Islamic Invitation Turkey in an article entitled: ‘US, EU criticized for accepting small numbers of Syria refugees.’
Two international refugee organizations have criticized the US and European states for admitting only a tiny number of the people displaced by the war in Syria.
In a report released on Wednesday, the International Rescue Committee and the Norwegian Refugee Council said the plight of the displaced Syrian people has reached “a new level of hopelessness.”
The report said that the US and European countries need “to do more, and quickly” in accepting Syrian refugees.
It said the US had accepted just 166 Syrian refugees by the end of September, while Britain a few hundred. France has said it will accept just 500 displaced Syrian people.
This is while international refugee organizations have called on developed countries to accept at least five percent of Syria’s refugees. [That amounts to about 150,000 Syrians they would like to see brought to the West.—ed]
So here is what the report says about the US beginning on page 16. After stating that the US has 4,000 Syrians in the pipeline:
“….it is critical that the overall global refugee admissions ceiling in the US be raised beyond the current level of 70,000 persons.”
Interesting as well, is that the IRC lists other ways to legally bring in more Syrians:
~ Student visas
~ Family reunification
~ Private sponsorship
~ Work visas
See all of our posts (going back to 2007) on the IRC by clicking here.
It is so very important for you to express your concern to your Representatives and Senators in Washington about throwing open our doors to Syrian Muslims.
