Denmark: How its Muslim immigrants are destroying the country (economically and culturally)

This is an indepth article at the Gatestone Institute which has been doing a lot of reporting on the Muslim immigration crisis gripping Europe.

This is one more in our ‘Invasion of Europe’ series, but it is more than that—see important parallels for America!

A warning from reporters Ingrid Carlqvist and Lars Hedegaard on Denmark’s Open Door!  Again, from ‘Pungentpeppers’ who is making sure I don’t get away from the computer this morning!***

Yes, there are no-go-zones, and yes, the Imams control the Muslim population…..

Here is just one bit about that:

…you will hardly ever hear a Muslim – whether first, second or third generation — express the slightest gratitude for all that hard-working Danish taxpayers have given them. Quite the contrary. When Muslims sound off in the media, it is usually in order to complain about the horrible way they are being treated. They are being harassed, excluded, mocked and offended by the natives. The original inhabitants turn their backs on them. That is often true, but is at least partly explained by the fact that Muslims prefer to live in confined areas (in Denmark they are known as ghettoes) with each other, where they can practice sharia law, keep control of their women and where outsiders are not welcome.

Then here is a section that sounds oh-so-familiar.   We have often, on these pages, used the phrase “Humanitarian Industrial-Complex.”

“The Immigration-Industrial Complex”

Another group with a vested interest in both further mass immigration and non-integration and is what may be labeled “The Immigration-Industrial Complex.” We are talking about the vast number of public employees and officers of semi-private humanitarian organizations who make a living out of receiving, caring for and integrating foreigners. If they were to succeed, or if the stream of asylum seekers were to dry up, they would be out of a job.

As a prerequisite of its work, the Immigration-Industrial Complex strives to spread a sense of guilt. This endeavor is mightily supported by a great number of journalists and so-called “experts,” who have made a career out of accusing their fellow Danes of racism, “Islamophobia” and xenophobia. We are so rich, they claim, and yet we will not take responsibility for the plight of billions of our persecuted and poverty-stricken fellow men around the world.

Exactly how Danes — and other Europeans who have never hurt a fly — have incurred this burden is never explained. Nor would this sort of self-flagellation carry weight anywhere outside the West. But here it works wonderfully.

As Amir Taheri, former chief editor of Tehran’s biggest newspaper, explained at a conference in Copenhagen some years ago: If you want to integrate newcomers, you have to get rid of people who make a living out of integrating them.

Denmark limits family reunification for asylum seekers; fears domino effect in Scandinavia

As invasion of Europe continues, some countries get it (but is it already too late?)

Update October 11:  See Does Dhimmitude in Denmark Describe Our Destiny?

Remember readers that in certain European countries, Syrian (and presumably others recognized for asylum status) are sometimes limited in how long they stay.  It is expected that when the conflict ends they will go home!

In the US, successful asylum seekers stay for life as do refugees resettled at the UN’s request.  We do have a Temporary Protected Status program for certain people who are supposed to only stay until their country is stable, but as you know they never leave (and are just waiting for the Obama amnesty to make them completely legal).

Denmark has additional problems as a number of their Muslim youths are fighting with ISIS. http://www.biennews.com/denmark-has-more-fighters-in-syria-than-the-u-s/

Here is some news from Denmark.  I was especially interested in an earlier story about how Denmark fears the huge migrant influx that could come from Sweden in the not-so-distant future!

From The Local:

Hoping to stem the tide of refugees from Syria, the government will now only allow for family reunifications if refugees’ initial one-year resident permit is renewed.

As a follow-up to its decision to introduce a new temporary residence permit for asylum seekers, the Justice Ministry said on Tuesday that refugees fleeing civil wars like the one in Syria will only be able to bring their family members into the country if their original one-year resident permit is extended under the new rules. As a follow-up to its decision to introduce a new temporary residence permit for asylum seekers, the Justice Ministry said on Tuesday that refugees fleeing civil wars like the one in Syria will only be able to bring their family members into the country if their original one-year resident permit is extended under the new rules.

“There are major consequences and costs associated with moving an entire family to Denmark. Therefore, that should only happen if there is the prospect of remaining in Denmark for a certain duration. But if the conflict [in a refugee’s home country, ed.] drags on and the stay is extended, then it is reasonable to bring one’s spouse and children to Denmark,” the justice minister, Karen Hækkerup, said in a press release.

Hækkerup announced the new one-year residence permits in September as a way for Denmark to deal with the record influx of asylum seekers.

Denmark worried about what deal with Sweden could do to Denmark!

From The Local in mid-September:

As Sweden prepares to go to the polls on Sunday, that country’s immigration and asylum policies are creating debate in Denmark.

With Sweden taking in a record number of asylum seekers – 340,000 are expected over the next four years – Danish politicians are warning of the negative impact the influx could have on Denmark.

“The many Syrians who are coming to Sweden as refugees will become Swedish citizens in a matter of a few years. And with the agreements we have among the Nordic nations, there is nothing to stop them from then immediately moving to Denmark – without a Danish residence permit – and receiving welfare benefits from day one. It is a big danger,” Søren Espersen of the Danish People’s Party told Berlingske.

Espersen called on the Danish government to express “Danish concerns about the completely excessive immigration underway in Sweden” to their Swedish colleagues.

These deals, especially the EU deals that strip countries of their sovereignty, are going to be the death of them all.

Denmark: Muslim immigrants getting most of the welfare (so what else is new?)

The ‘Invasion of Europe’ continues….

Opposition party leader, Inger Støjberg, calls for tougher rules on Muslim immigration. http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-London/2014/07/30/Danish-politician-calls-for-tougher-rules-on-Muslim-immigration

From Breitbart:

Danish current-affairs magazine MandagMorgen has published a report on welfare and benefits which reveals that while the cost of supporting immigrants and their descendents has exploded, the cost of keeping native Danes is falling.

The magazine, which is a publication of one of Scandinavia’s leading think-tanks differentiates between “immigrants and descendants from non-Western countries” and ethnic Danes in its report. The revelation that the cost of welfare for the immigrants has increased by two billion kronor (over £200 million) since 2010 has prompted a bout of soul-searching amongst the leaders of Denmark’s Social Liberal pro-immigration party, who are presently part of the ruling coalition.

Denmark has experienced a sudden rush of immigration from these non-Western groups in past decades, and over one-in-ten Danes is now an immigrant or the descendant of one. Two thirds of immigrants, some 400,000, are non-Western, with Somalis, Turks, and Iraqis forming large, visible groups.

The arrival of large groups of immigrants from cultures unlike Denmark has caused friction within the country. An opposition politician was reported saying in July: “It is primarily Muslim immigrants who do not value democracy and freedom. In certain environments, they directly oppose it. Too many non-Western immigrants with Muslim backgrounds do not want our freedom-orientated society model.

Denmark: Opposition party official suggests unhappy Muslims should find another place to live

Remember yesterday, in a post about Europe and the Arab Spring, here, I reported that writer Anat Berko suggested it will be Western women who lead the way back from the brink of cultural annihilation.

Add Inger Støjberg  to the list!

And, this made me laugh my head off, critics said “her approach to Danish Muslims lacked nuance!”  Nuance!  WTF! (sorry, we don’t use profanity here, but I can’t help myself sometimes!).  Nuance! when Europe is going down the tubes!

From the Copenhagen Post (Hat tip: Fjordman via twitter)

Muslims who show no interest in adopting Danish values ought to think about why they settled in Denmark in the first place, the immigration spokesperson for leading opposition party Venstre argued in an opinion piece published in Politiken newspaper today.

In her piece, Inger Støjberg criticises Danish Muslims who actively try to shield themselves from Danish values and norms and who think that their religious beliefs should not be allowed to be mocked.

Støjberg pointed to a study of Danish Muslims in which 55 percent responded that criticising religion should be banned and 64 percent thought that free speech should be limited in particular circumstances.

“Denmark is the land of the Danes and you are more than welcome to become a Dane and take part in the work and community,” Støjberg wrote. “But to those Muslims who constantly work against us, constantly question us, are unsatisfied, encourage going to holy war in Syria, commit honour killings, belittle our values, flag or way of living – to all of you: Go and find somewhere else to live. No one is forcing you to stay. We accepted you and now it’s up to you to show the necessary respect for our society and the values it is built upon.”  [Of course we all know they are not in Denmark to become Danes, but to change Denmark into a Muslim country.—ed]

Probably squishy men who said this (it’s the same sort of thing they say about Pamela Geller):

Government parties Socialdemokraterne (S) and Socialistisk Folkeparti both said they agreed with the general points made by Støjberg, but that her approach to Danish Muslims lacked nuance.

But, will Støjberg and Venstre go this far?

Spotting an opportunity, Martin Henriksen, integration spokesperson for Dansk Folkeparti, proposed that Venstre should use this opportunity to follow up with strict policies aimed at curbing migration from Muslim countries.

“I think that Venstre and Dansk Folkeparti should join together for the next election with a goal of reducing Muslim immigration to somewhere close to zero. It is the most effective solution to ensure that Denmark will remain socially and culturally united in the decades ahead,” Henriksen said.

By the way, one of the most read posts this year at RRW is this one where Laura Ingraham called for a halt to all Muslim immigration to America.

Addendum: Remember back in 2010 the Ft. Morgan, CO police chief went to Denmark (the trip was paid for by the US State Department) ostensibly to learn how to integrate Ft. Morgan’s Muslim refugee population from a country with lots of successful experience.  Do you think they might send him back now to have a follow-up chat with Henriksen and Støjberg?

Here is our archive of the many posts we’ve written about Denmark and its immigrant population.

Denmark to send Somali asylum seekers back to Mogadishu!

Declare Somalia safe enough!

Wow!  And, it was only last September that Denmark sent a delegation to Minneapolis to see just how we are so “welcoming” here and how they might emulate us.   Things must be going south fast in Copenhagen!

From The Copenhagen Post:

Immigration officials are contending that the security situation in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, has improved to such an extent that Somali asylum seekers can be sent back.

Immigration Service (Udlændingestyrelsen) made its decision on the basis of a joint Danish-Norwegian delegation that visited Mogadishu in October 2012, and reported that the Somali capital was safe to the point that rejected asylum seekers would not face persecution if sent back.

”The joint fact-finding mission to Somalia gave us new information that indicated that the security has been vastly improved,” Jakob Dam Glynstrup, the head of asylum at Udlændingestyrelsen, said in a press release. ”There is also a new government in place and a rising number of Somalis are returning home.”

Udlændingestyrelsen pointed to Norway, which has already changed its protocol in regards to asylum seekers from Somalia.

But the Danish aid organisation Dansk Flygtningehjælp argued that the delegation’s assessment is incorrect and pointed to an evaluation by the UN asylum organisation, UNHCR, which said that security threats in Mogadishu and the rest of Somalia are still very high.

I don’t know why this is such a big deal.  After all, the new President of Somalia is urging the folks to come on home and help rebuild their country.

No wonder the Danes are having second thoughts about that “welcoming” business:

According to Udlændingestyrelsen, the number of Somalis who were granted asylum in Denmark last year shot up to around 900. That is compared to only 18 in 2011 and 35 in 2010.

Readers, we’ve been talking a lot about asylum lately.  These are asylum seekers meaning they got to Denmark on their own steam.   We have one up on the Danes (they must be haters)—we are actually still putting Somalis on planes around the world and bringing them to us!

Holy-moly!  If this map is correct we have already admitted over 2000 Somalis in the first three months of this fiscal year!  If that trend continues, Obama will be on target to approach Bush’s best Somali-welcoming years of 2004, 2005 and 2006, here.
